Love their pizza, consistently delicious, their sweet sauce is my favorite, surprised to see the reviews are so mixed.

Can I have some sub with my mayonnaise please?! ‍‍ Don't order the chicken salad sandwich!! Or anything with the chicken salad. Usually I have to ask for extra mayo when I get chicken salad sandwiches...but not here! The amount of mayonnaise they use is not only ridiculous but it was enough to make me sick. Did I eat it? Yes. Do I regret it. YUP! All it is, is chunks of chicken and disgusting amount of mayo. And I LOVE mayo so this is odd for me to say. I've eaten here before out of convenience and regret both times. Sorry but never again. read more

Just got steak tips, which used to be great, but these weren't worth eating. Little flat strips of beef, not chunks, and they were so gray and overdone they looked like they had been boiled. Dry and stringy. I wouldn't feed these to my dog. Too bad the new owner couldn't match the quality of the former owners. read more

Hi there, so sorry to say that this was a substandard sandwich today that I received it's disappointing because my office is nearby and we would come here more but we have to have at least a decent presentation here. The bread was soggy. There was too much chicken and the tomato is really not edible. Note chicken was quite tasty. I'm going to attach a picture.! read more

Food is really good. I really like the Steak tip sub, and it's really tasty and delicious. I would definitely recommend it, and I will come back every week! read more

Really good food. best place in town. Fast and good quality. If you tip the drivers good tip. they delivery even faster. Good ambience. Good people .. read more

I love the food there people are always nice and they also have fresh ingredients which makes everything better there !!!

pizza was dry, but amazing when they add extra sauce to it, problem is they are very rude, and I tipped 25% to get the extra sauce, yet they would stick it to me and take the tip for a crap pizza, but not do the extra, so said something, and they told me never to go back there, so I do not, and go to Rocos in Danvers (incredible!) instead, If do not want my business and will be rude, why give them my money for crap pizza, and even worse attitude. read more

Had them deliver, it was fast and efficient... And the food was still hot when it got to my house. This is one of the best places on the north shore read more

We ordered delivery. It was prompt. The salad was good. Can't mess up a Caesar salad. The pizza was just okay. Thin crust but soggy

It's a sure miss if you order your food for delivery. They will find a way to mess it up even if it's only one item. Highly suggest ordering your food and picking up OR go else where. The service/accountability is nonexistent here. Super over priced for money and it's never consistent. Anywhere but here. read more

Very disappointed the owners should be ashamed of themselves.I ordered dinner for my family and it cost me $45 dollar. The price wouldn't have bothered me so much but when I picked up the food I was quite set back. We ordered a small pizza approx 10 inch a small onion ring small fry and 2 mini pizzas. The size of the mini pizzas was so ridiculous a little over 4 1/2 inches in diameter I get it it's a mini but $9.00 for the equivalent of a slice of pizza is totally outrageous. I feel really taken advantage of and will never go there again or recommend this place to anyone. This place was one of my favorite place's to go because of the sweet sauce not anymore. They have lost my business forever. I would give no stars if I could. read more

Firing Up Pizza Grill - Pizza Near Me - Gloucester, Massachusetts

See all

My local pizza/sub shop with even more to offer. All food is solid and exactly what you envision when ordering, there is something to be said about that. The staff is efficient in a busy spot. Small seating area but usually no problem to get an eat-in spot. Definitely recommend for this type of food. read more

Bob D. I would suggest opening and checking your pick up order before leaving. They have an unfortunate tendency to screw up your order about half the time. Also, a mountain of frozen french fries does not justify the price of the dinners. If you want just another crappy money maker pizza joint, just throw a dart at a map of Gloucester. You might (or might not) be less offended. read more

Overstaffed, but slow wait. Staff doesn't know what is in their subs. When I asked what's in seasfood sub, it took 3 people to find out and they said CRAB. I asked, "real crab or that fake crab?"They stated real. Zero customer service training. Blunt and ignorant. Got home - it was the crappy fale stuff loaded with mayo. I won't return. Guys in back not wearing gloves. Not convinced they follow all SafeServ guidelines! I should have read the other 1 star reviews here before walking in. read more

I am from Downtown Boston and just bought a home in E. Gloucester, and its my first move out the city, I only feared Gloucester having bad pizza and subs, but I have NO FEARS ANYMORE, SUBS ARE GREAT, and the Pizza's Awsome. #THANK'S"E"GLOUCESTERPIZZA!!!!!!!!!!? read more

Ordered a mini chicken kabob salad and a small omlette sub, was told it would be about 10 minutes. After 15, I went to the counter to see what was going on,since the person who took my order didn't give me my receipt so that I could "listen" for the last 2 numbers. After seeing that my mini chicken kabob salad was sitting on the counter getting cold. All they kept telling me was that the sub takes time.....come on, it's scrambled eggs and cheese with ham...how long does that take???? VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Last Saturday was my mother's birthday and she really wanted spaghetti and meatballs so we decided to get delivery from Fired Up. They were actually open pretty early (10ish) and we had a copy of their menu which is quite extensive. Lots of choices including an array of pizzas, pasta dishes, subs, steak tips, chicken fingers and wings. We called and ordered and they took the payment over the phone. Unfortunately, they called back within a few minutes to say they wouldn't have onion rings as they hadn't been made yet. I like that better though than them using yesterday's old grease. We substituted with steak fries. For meals, I went with the chicken tenders dinner with steak fries and broccoli. I was trying to be good (yeah, I know..). The broccoli was the only poor part of the meal. It wasn't cooked nearly enough and seemed to have some sort of garlic seasoning. The rest was so good though. Steak fries were perfect. The chicken tenders were very nice. I even enjoyed the freshly made pita bread (later since we got a lot of food with the meal). My mother loved her meal. She got spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were done perfectly and huge. Plus, very plentiful. They really loaded up her meal with meat which is nice since some places give you a dish of pasta and that's it. Great prices, fast delivery and loads of great quality food. We each had two full meals out of what we ordered. I see us ordering again very soon! read more

And just like that, you lost a customer who has been coming to Firing Up, since they opened. Not only did I get charged a $2.50 delivery charge (that's fine) but, my the delivery was incomplete, and the sodas were warm, and the food was cold. Cold french fries are in edible. And when I brought the missing idem to the attention of the delivery driver, he asked if I wanted him to get it and return... There are to many great restaurants here to ever return. It was a good run. Larry P.S. I will give credit to the driver, he came back with the rest of my order, but that doesn't make us square... read more

Great food. Take out is easy. One of my favorite pizzas in town. Great roast beef sandwich too, huge! read more

Firing Up Pizza Grill - Classic Pepperoni! - Pizza Near Me - Gloucester, Massachusetts

If I could give less that one star I would. I ordered delivery and they come an hour and a half later. Everything was soggy and gross. My chicken in my wrap was so dry it was like wood chips. Chicken fingers and fries so soggy and mozzarella sticks, the cheese was hardened from sitting there. I will not be ordering here again. read more

After enjoying the delicious pizza from their other business, Mike's Pizzeria in Beverly, it was time to order a few things from Firing Up. Terrific experience start to finish. We ordered food for delivery. The individual taking the phone call was friendly, professional, and thorough on what was likely a very busy Friday night. She confirmed the items we ordered, providing a total bill and an estimated 69-minute delivery time. Right on target. Delivery was actually 15 minutes earlier than expected. Our delivery person (Ryan) was friendly and efficient. We tipped him well! Now, the food: pizza prepared exactly how we requested - thin crust w/original sauce, linguica, garlic and onions. Delicious! Small side of Buffalo chicken fingers was heaping - beyond generous! (Not soggy, either!) Perfect Greek salad w/side dressing and bread. Way more food than we needed! Get on their website and explore the huge menu. Welcome to Gloucester, Firing Up Pizza Grill! read more

I stopped going there, as when they make the pizzas, the way you ordered them, they are amazing, but would hardly ever do that Also staff finally said that if you want extra sauce go somewhere else, so I did. Started doing to panini, in North Beverly, ma , pizza is amazing and makes it the way you want it read more

They added 8% sale increase due to price of food which is fine but still super expensive and damn delicious, recommend getting the pesto pizza I don't like the online ordering which for out of state person can not get delivery but you can order pickup ‍ read more

Very poor service from time calling to place order. Person taking order would not listen, and naturally order came messed up. Called to let them know the order was wrong and argued with us , refusing to give refund. Food was terrible, don't recommend this place at all. Rude, poor service and terrible food. Would have rated a zero if possible. read more

Ordered a party pizza and a party size salad for a professional clinical meeting to be delivered to a medical office. When it arrived there were no PLATES, NAPKINS, FORKS or SPOONS!! When I called them back I was told "I didn't ask for them"! Did they honestly think we were going to eat salad without utensils?! The man I spoke to was rude and arrogant, and stated I should have asked for everything I would need. I'm sorry but that's common sense. I will never order from them again!!!!! read more

Disappointed. The guacamole looked disgusting --old and brown. I've never been served guac like that. It's unacceptable. Also were late in delivery, over an hour, for some reason they thought the address was in Rockport rather than Gloucester. Got the steak fajita bowl, outside of the guac issue it was mediocre, nothing special. Don't think I will bother trying this place again. read more

Great pizza but what is up with the ordering for delivery? They had my credit card, they usually know we are customers but no, have to repeat address several times. But it turns out the 2 pizzas have become 4 and they are never delivered because they go to an address down the street. (This is figured out by a long useless conversation with the place.) If the pending credit card is cancelled by them, we will try them again. If I have to dispute it, they are dead to me. Meanwhile enjoying Rockport Pizza. Tasty and hot. read more

The food is solid! But when I complained that we had been given the wrong sub, nobody said anything. They just stared at me, waiting in silence. Language barrier? Maybe I should have spoken in Spanish since it's as close as I get to Portuguese, but nobody said anything to me. That is bad service. It takes zero language to understand when something wrong had happened, and zero language to show that I'm you care. A linguiça bomb is not Italian sausage cut up in a plain bun. read more

Honestly, this place is badly mismanaged. I've gotten wrong orders twice. I called tonight to order a chicken Caesar salad before seeing the food poisoning review. I ordered, the person taking the order indicated they were out of Romano cheese. You mean Parmesan? I asked. Yes she said, no cheese. Now seriously people, you are are about 100 feet from a Market Basket - go freaking buy some! If I owned this place, I would not be happy that my workers can't solve the no cheese problem. I cancelled the order and after seeing the other review - perhaps it was best. I wish the old Mike's Place would open again. I know that the guy who started it owns this one, but it needs improvement. read more

Poor Quality food I ordered onion rings with my chicken finger dinner last night for take out. When I opened the box ,I found the onion rings were NOT crispy. They were barely done and the insides were RAW. The out side of the chicken fingers were not hot also but chicken were done. YES, I know Mikes was closed and their was a lot of extra people there That is no excuse for under cooked food. So if you order onion rings check them BEFORE you leave Firing UP. Bill H read more

I would so order from them again and again! read more

The wings here were wicked good. It was quick and on-the-money grub. Easily some of the best wings in town.

This review is a tough one for me. When this place first opened up they were THE BEST. Hands down the best pizza in Gloucester. Lately when I order there its sub par. Ironically, the foods I enjoy the most aren't pizza. The pizza we got last night was so unbelievably greasy it was an instant stomach ache. However, we got a chicken kabob dinner that was delicious. Ill order again, but I'll be more mindful of my choices. read more

I walked in, got my roast beef sandwich, it was horrific. The bathroom was nice, until i threw up in it. This place tricks you with tasty smells but you will be sadly mistaken my friend. UPDATE Ordered delivery again. Got the beet salad with grilled chicken. It was loaded, and came with the best pita I've ever had in my life. Loving this place. read more

Not many places in the area so I order here a lot but today was my last. I have a lot of patience as I have family that work and own places in the restaurant business. This place messes orders up at least 30% of the time but we never complained. Today I ordered a chicken kabob salad for delivery. Driver called me to come out to him as he sat in his car. That was a first but I still tipped $5 no big deal. I get inside my house and open the bag to find no dressing (or bread but that's ok). This was disappointing as their chicken is usually over-cooked and it needs dressing to be edible. I called them and spoke to a female who passed me off to a male. They refused to bring dressing to me. I was nice as could be and explained that I spend a lot of money with them (prob at least $200 a month) and would appreciate dressing when they come back out for delivery. Guy was adamant he wouldn't help today and offered an extra free dressing next time. Seriously? Why would I want an extra free dressing next time? Other places have online ordering now that I'll give my business to. I don't expect this review to hurt this business as they are always busy. If you don't mind your order getting messed up or your business to not be appreciated this is your place. read more
