Wow, what a great experience. I went into the store knowing absolutely nothing about guns and came out enlightened.
The range is clean, well kept, and the staff in friendly yet serious enough to make sure you maintain proper firearm safety techniques, yet have fun doing so in the process.
I dealt with three people there (forgive me if I butcher their names); Steve, Matt, and Jake. Since the store was not busy at the time, I had the pleasure of three people working on what I wanted. Steve told me about several different guns, and the one I decided on was in their rental display but not available for sale (Glock 21 Generation Four). They told me the gun was rather large for my first purchase, but i told them i did not have my CPL (i thought it was CCW but Steve told me things had changed) and this gun was primarily to keep in my house to protect my family. Both Steve and Jake told me the Glock 21 shot wonderfully, so I gave it a try and I was surprised that the kick-back (or recoil i think it was) was very minimal. This was the gun for me. I guess it is a difficult gun to obtain, so the Jake and Matt tried to find one for me.
Jake and Matt promptly called three or four different vendors (again new to guns, vendors may be the wrong word) and they got me the price and availability of the gun on the spot! They ordered it for me and told me they would try to get it as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Steve showed me (on the rental gun) how to take the gun apart and take care of it. He also told me what locks or other precautions to take as I have a family. I left the store eagerly awaiting their call regarding the arrival of my gun.
Two weeks later Matt called me telling me my gun was in, so off I went. Upon entering the store both Jake and Matt remembered me by name (call me what you will but that means something to me) and they got the process started. The store was incredibly busy but Matt managed gun sales between me and another customer as I told him I was in a bit of a rush. He didn't have to do that, but he did, and did not complain one bit. He was a true gentleman.
A customer in there told me how good my purchase was, and proceeded to tell me that the FiringLines prices were far better than the bigger stores like Cabelas. I went online to look, and he was right. I saved nearly 80 dollars, making my experience that much greater.
I was on my way out of the store, and just for good measure, Jake wanted to assure me how cool the Glock 21 was, so he grabbed his father, (who is also the owner of the store) and showed me that he was carrying the very same gun that day. How cool! I know I made the right choice.
Overall this was a wonderful experience. The Firing Line has my continued business as they have great prices and a great staff. I normally do not write reviews online but these days people who are irrational and spiteful tend to go online and denigrate people and entities for no reason. If Matt had asked me to wait until he was done with another customer, many people would have been irritated and would proceed to go online and bash the service, because they did not cater to their every need. I wanted to make sure people know this store is great, and the people who work there are sincere yet stern enough to educate and enlighten. Hope this review helps, and thanks again to the Firing Line! read more
