BRANDI IS AMAZING. I had to take a moment to shout out Firestone -- and Brandi, especially -- for the incredible service I received. I've never dealt with someone who was so honest, empathetic, genuine, kind and deserving of success. She's very transparent about prices and services and I feel like I've been blessed to have her shop so close to me. Here's what happened: I went in because my battery light was flashing on and off, and my heart sank when I heard the diagnosis was a bad alternator. I was bracing myself for an expensive repair, but then Brandi stepped in like an absolute angel. She looked into it and realized I'd had my alternator replaced just a year ago -- and just like that, she said they'd take care of it completely free of charge because it was less than 8,000 miles. I almost cried. That kind of honesty, care, and integrity is so rare these days. She turned what could've been a stressful, expensive day into one of deep gratitude. I have been patronizing the Wappingers/ Poughkeepsie NY firestone location for over almost 20 years. Recently I have noticed a number of nasty customers who feel they are entitled and can negotiate how much a service costs. I've witnessed yelling , cursing and the customers even made threats. Is the community so ignorant that they do not realize that the employees do NOT set the prices and are carrying on as instructed by the company. As for wait times and staff .... How many times have we heard since the pandemic that a place is short handed. Hell I can't get a Dr appt right away as they are short handed. So because your car took longer or people are trying their best and not machines it's ok to bash them and attack them. It's a really good thing I don't work there as I would NEVER be able to be spoken to like that for any reason!!! I have witnessed this horrible behavior more times than I care to mention recently. In my years of bringing , to this location, all of my vehicles they have always done their best and have always always treated me and my family with respect but then again I /we had always treated them with respect. I brought my car in for an inspection. The check engine light was on. I've already had it read numerous times. It was one sensor which was an oxygen sensor. The cashier at the store tells me it's not one sensor it's two. I was like, oh? What was the code? It was for oxygen sensor and a knock sensor. So I'm like that's funny. Just do an oil change. After the oil change drove car dash board lights going off like crazy. Took to another mechanic. Come to find out they pinched the knock sensor and left the wires disconnected to the knock sensor. This is very dangerous for anyone and everyone. I also know they did it because you have to physically pinch the wires with a tool. Never go to Firestone again. Not once or twice and even three times. I've walked in with one problem and came out with another. Never again. Completely lost my business. I also advise people to not go to Firestone. read more

Brake/Tail/Blinker light went out late on a Sunday Afternoon, got it n just as they were closing at 5:00pm on 3/20/22. They had me in n and out in 5 minutes and still got to close on time. I'ld let them get be me a quote on tires to see if they have good rates as I have read the previous reviews and am a bit worried as I can understand 10% of people would have a bad experience at a mechanic but this place seems a bit high on the bad reviews for only having 16 reviews before mine! read more

the young gentleman who greeted me made me feel calm. being I'll & pressured 4 NYS inspection on a decade + old car. we exchanged pleasantries; him telling me 2 feel comfort because he had issues driving across the US once. He told me to feel free to move about as inspections/ repair happened.they would find me to keep me updated. it's all about Jason too. I heard him explain to other customers about products/pricing, so I was sure I was getting the best deal with all discounts. 1 tony / 11 Ross at first made a gross error but SOON corrected/apologizing. my fittie got on sale "red bottom designer "? shoes & I get Payless. That new rubber tire smell!!! the way it should be because my car carries my fat a$$ thru whatever weather & never fails. she deserves THE BEST. I passed inspection with repairs I can afford. After waiting for over an hour+ my car was not touched. What's the purpose of taking an appointment if you cannot even get close to the original time? Do not take the appointment just to make as much money as possible and forget about your clients time! I'm okay with waiting if they were honest upfront. Do not get your car inspected here until you know you need tires. I was in town for the day and figured I'd get my inspection done. They quoted me almost $900 to pass inspection (of course the car had to have 4 new tires) and then found another 1k of "recommended work." I had scheduled 9 tires to be put on 2 vehicles over the course of 2 days. (One was a Jeep with the 5th wheel, ha!) My truck had oversized tires on it and there was a miscommunication and they put the stock sized tires on. When I called and told them they took off the oversized, put on stock, and never called to double check... it didn't go well. I would've given them 1 star at that point. But boy, did they rebound. Jeep tires were installed perfectly. They ordered my oversized tires and had them on there in no time. And they charged me far less than I know they could've. Let me start of by saying that I grew up with Firestone. My entire goes to Firestone and trusts them very much. When I moved to New York from Colorado, I was happy to see that there was a Firestone just up Route 9 in case I needed it. After being here for a couple months, i realized I would need it. My car needed a Safety Inspection. Unfortunately, my 1999 Honda Civic had its check engine light on. I knew what the problem was (crank shaft sensor). More importantly, my car was in perfect condition. I had driven it 5,000 miles with the check engine light on by the time I saved up enough money to feel comfortable to bring it into Firestone. I told Firestone all I wanted was to get the check engine light out and pass the safety inspection. I told Firestone what the problem was. They told me they couldn't take my word on it and would have to do their own diagnostics ($99). When I asked why, they told me they had no way of knowing which crank shaft was causing the problem. I lamented. They ended up fixing both of them anyway. They then called me and tried to talk me into several "standard maintenance" purchases. After talking with a mechanic friend, I told them to do the extra maintenance. As I drove it over the next week, a horrible screeching sound started coming from my car. I brought the car in the next weekend so they could fix it and so I could get the safety inspection (I had to drive it at least 100 miles after the check engine light went out in order to pass). What happened that day is why I will never go to a Firestone again. First, they failed the safety inspection because my tie rods were broken. They quoted me $200. When I asked why they hadn't told me about this problem the week before, they told me they didn't do the safety inspection the prior week. The thing is, I wouldn't have done the standard maintenance if I knew there were more expenses (I live on a very restricted budget). Second, they told me that the standard maintenance they did the prior week created too much tension in the engine and would likely cause damage if I did not fix it. They quoted me at $300...to fix a problem they created. My car was perfect before I brought it to Firestone. They overcharged me on everything and ruined my car in the meantime. I ended up taking my car down to Throton's Auto. They did the Safety Inspection and didn't see anything wrong with it. UPDATE: Firestone contacted me because of this review. Someone contacted someone at this location and go them to set me up with a free replacement for whatever was causing the noise in my car. It was $160 in labor and part waived, which I am thankful. Unfortunately, my review still stands. I will not use them again and am pissed that I had post a review on here to get anything done. TL;DR: SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY. AVOID FIRESTONE. It took them an hour and a half to inspect my car even though I had an appointment and they failed my inspection and told me that there was all these things wrong with my car but when I took it to a different mechanic he didn't say any of these things were wrong with my car! They took advantage of me because I am young do not go here they are horrible and will charge you like crazy! read more

There was a customer who came in well after me, who didn't have an appointment, and they had one of the techs take that car instead of mine. if you do use this location, make sure you don't wait in store. read more

Short and sweet... these guys are hacks. Unfortunately it's tough to find a mechanic these days worth their salt. Little to no attention to detail. Most don't know what a torque wrench, dont know how to use one or just don't care. Alignments are hit or miss. I've never had a proper one done at any Firestone. I'd say stay away from Firestone in general but just about anywhere you go you're faced with the same lack of quality. read more

Took my BMW 335I in for a battery. They charged me $50 for the install because the battery is in the trunk under 3 panels. One year latter the car gets an electrical fault. Went to BMW and the fault was gone but would have been caused by the battery being DISCONNECTED?? One year later same fault returns and this time locks in. BMW investigates and finds that the battery that was installed, by Firestone, was Physically and electrically too small. Because it was too small IT WAS NOT HELD DOWN BY THE SECURING HARDWARE. This allowed the battery to flop around for 2 years and finally broke a charging circuit board mounted on top of the battery. It would cost $800+ for repair. I returned the car to Firestone with the BMW report and local Management denied all responsibility because 2 years had passed. I threatened legal action! I demanded the contact info for the area manager, and that took forever. I called the area manager and left him a VM message. Finally I received a call from local management that Firestone would take back the battery with a full refund... and pay the repair bill for BMW. I will use FIRESTONE again in the future, but defiantly not this store BEWARE!! read more

I needed to replace a tire on my 3 month old 2016 Honda civic and Joe from Firestone was very helpful. I first tried Mavis , but they didn't even have the firestone ft 140 in their system. Joe also beat a price from tire rack. he got it the next day as promised. When I went to have it mounted Joe had left , but Anthony had me on my way in just over 10 minutes. They have a very clean waiting room and they were a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend. read more

Absolutely horrific!! My car was brought in at 8:59 am to have brakes checked. At about 10am I approved pads, rotors and oil change. Upon my arrival at stated pick up time (5pm) was told nothing done, "couldn't get to it." They were just doing oil change then and I was forced to wait till 6:14pm for change to be completed. Then told "by the way, rt. headlight out." I informed him, they had changed both headlights a year ago at a cost of over $200. with long life bulbs. I was told "couldn't have." I told him to look it up, he did, then said "that was 2 years ago" when I disagreed and said no, one year he stated "oh well". (At time of replacement of headlights was told I should get 10 years from them) Of note, on my initial receipt in the morning it says headlights "ok" He denied this even though I had receipt .When I asked if he could fix it he said, "no we're closing." I was forced to drive out with one headlight out in the dark and brake light still on! The kicker, my outgoing invoice states I declined service!! DO NOT TRUST THESE IDIOTS !!!!!! . I brought my car in to put on my 4 snow tires and do an alignment . When I was driving home I hear a clunking sound coming from the front end when I went over bumps. I brought it back to them and we went for a test ride and I told them it goes away when brakes are applied thinking maybe ( calipers ) . So they put it on the lift and inspect it for about 45 min. They tell me I need a lower front bushing , two struts sway bar link and we're going to charge me yet again for an alignment to the sum of $1,586.77 . Yea I might believe you . So I went to BOB at RPH AUTO REPAIR on rt 9 wappingers mobile who doesn't do alignments . He looked at the car and in about 10 min including test ride fixed the clunking noise for $ 20 I will spell that TWENTY DOLLARS !!!!! IT WAS A LOOSE BRAKE CALIPER !!!!!
