i would like to give them a big fat zero, they dont even deserve 1 star. i was quoted a much lower price on tires over the phone. When i got there, they we all confused on what i wanted. i wanted 4 new tires. is that difficult to understand? So the tires came to 25 dollars more each, thats a hundred dollars more for mounting and insurance. i said i dont want the insurance, just charge me for mounting. they said than if u dont want the insurance, the tires are 20 dollars each more plus 15 each for mounting. the manager Harry said this is how it is. you have to buy the insurance of 25 dollars a tire to get the price we quoted you. Scam!! waste of time i went to costco and got better tires for less with no bs back and fourth read more

1.5 Stars - one because they're friendly and half because they pointed something out (although they were the last ones to service the system last and the issue should've been caught then) that otherwise, the job couldnt be done. Tech didn't do part of a job and lost accessory parts to my vehicle. Remains to be seen what they can do about that as those parts are long ago discontinued and I'll have to go back to make sure that they do the job because I've already paid for it. The only guy that has his name up on their "Wall of Fame", a Miguel C., doesn't ever seem to be on site. Maybe that's why the level of service seems spottier than before - or I know more about cars. in an industry where you always have one hand on your wallet and always feel like you are about to get bent over a barrel, isaac and the guys here are a refreshingly honest bunch. had a slow leaking flat tire--a run-flat tire. called isaac and found out they were one of the few shops open sunday and near our band's rehearsal studio. isaac took a look and showed me the small staple that had punctured the tire. unfortunately pirelli doesn't allow them to plug holes so i had to get a new tire. fortunately firestone carries bridgestone and they have a new run-flat which is cheaper and carries a higher speed rating than the pirelli i ruined. i was concerned about having one tire outta balance with the other as the other one has a LOT more wear. now isaac coulda just picked me off and forced me to buy two tires but he was honest. he showed me other alternatives and said we could go cheaper but not for run-flats. i was in and out in 30 minutes. honest to goodness service and no bullshit. refreshing. read more

They even made sure to check the battery first to make sure that was what I needed to do hoping to save me some money. I am more than frustrated by the lack of customer service and incompetence I've experienced from The Firestone Location in Van Nuys, CA. I originally came into the location to get an oil change and get some brake work done. Afterwards, I noticed my engine light was turned on on my dashboard. Mind you, my engine light was not on prior to getting work done on my car. I went back to Firestone to get answers. They tried to reset it. However, my car couldn't be reset. An error message appeared. Then I was informed one of the mechanics would have to do a diagnostic test and then try to fix the issue. The test was done, however the censor needed for my car was not in stock. I was informed to come back after the part had arrived. I was told the censor would arrive within a few days. I, then, returned for the 3rd time for a censor to be replaced. I was informed the light should turn off within the next few miles. I drove my car for a week. The engine light still remained on. I went back for a 4th time to get the issue resolved and hopefully get answers. When I returned I was informed they would have to check the wiring and that could take up to a half day or more. I indicated I started a new job and am preparing to go out of town. There is no way I could be without my car for even a day as I work 60 hours/ week. Most days I am at work by 7am and don't get home until 8pm or 9pm. I was informed by the manager Carlos that he would look into getting me a rental for the time being, but it had to be approved first. I've been calling for the past week to confirm if I will be getting a rental or not. I finally was able to get on the phone with Carlos to confirm that I will indeed have a rental while my car is being worked on. The biggest issue I have with this entire situation is that I have had to call multiple times to get answers about an issue that was established while my car was in the possession of Firestone. I feel Firestone has been less than accommodating. I do not feel I should have to track down any business or person to resolve an issue that was not created by me. The lack of customer service is beyond baffling and I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau about the practices in place at Firestone. I received a refund but this experience has been horrible. This experience has been truly disappointing and my engine light continues to remain on. read more

Wow!! The service here was incredible. I was having a rough day and needed my tire patched so that I could report to work the next day. I had a small conversation with Juan who demonstrate great consumer service, and I had my tire patched in a timely manner. After the service was complete, to my surprise I was not charged for the service because I was an essential worker!! I didn't not mention that I worked in healthcare but because of Juan's keen eye he noticing my badge..he made my day! Thank you so much for showing your appreciation! I will definitely be back!! I've owed these guys a review for a long time-- I've lived in Sherman Oaks since September and I've been here twice; once for an oil change, and once because my coolant hose was busted and my engine was smoking and I thought I was doomed. Luckily these guys fixed it up. They always get stuff done really quick. They don't overcharge you or add on services without telling you, and Caesar personally drove me home and sent a technician to pick me up on both occasions, which I really appreciate a whole lot. I couldn't pay upfront for the services either time, so Caesar set me up with a Firestone credit card (even though I have terrible credit) and told me everything I needed to know (pay it off in 6 months or else you'll get slammed with interest charges) and I got it taken care of. It was a lifesaver. I've never been to a Firestone I didn't like. They're always really friendly and happy to help, but this one is the best I've ever been to! read more

I just spent 4 hours here and am now afraid to drive my car. I went in for an oil change and a break inspection. I have been coming to this location for years, mainly with a fleet car for routine service. I recently acquired a car from my mom and it needed an oil change after being driven across the country and then on a few small road trips. The breaks were also starting to squeak, so I took it in. Oil change, no problem. Brake inspection showed I had like, 0 mm left on the pads. Okay, no problem. Well, then the rotors needed to be refinished. Umm... ok. Go ahead. Well, now we can't refinish them because they're rusted and need to be replaced. Uhhh... wait. Now, instead of $100, my bill is now almost $500... but she did give me a 'discount coupon' for $60, and showed me the rusted rotors. So I said fine. About an hour goes by and the young lady at the front, who is very pleasant and helpful, comes and says that one of the bolts was broken, and now needs to be replaced. They apologize for the inconvenience, but it's going to take about an hour for them to get the part and then replace it. Imagine my surprise when, 10 minutes later, I see my car being lowered and pulled out. The technician, Todd, walks my keys over, tells me that he was able to rethread the bolt, and that everything is fine. Nope. I was told it was being replaced, not re-threaded. Now I start questioning whether the work has been properly completed at all. Whether I needed the new brakes, etc. Andrea tried to reassure me, by saying that they would go ahead and wait for the new part and show me the old vs. the new when the new part arrives. Ok, great. So that happens and then she brings me out to my car, shows me all of the new parts and the Master Technician says that he had to replace TWO bolts, instead of just one. At this point, more than 4 hours later. I'm done. Andrea offers me the old parts, makes sure I have my receipt and I head out the door. When one thing after another, after another is suddenly 'broken', and then 'fixed, but not fixed and then fixed again', I think it might be time for a new mechanic. The only reason I gave them two stars is because at least they were mostly friendly. ***Update*** As 'requested' I emailed the response to my review and was not contacted- more than a week later. I'm sure they'd like me to delete my review but it will stand, as is. read more

I visited Firestone for the first time today as I needed a headlight changed. I had called to make an appointment and right off the bat, the customer service was exceptional! Hector was so reassuring that they'd take care of me, so I was excited to go in, especially since I had been quoted literally 4x the amount for the same service at Pep Boys! So we arrived to the appointment a little early, and they took us in right away. We were in an out within 30 minutes, just as he had said we would. I am beyond satisfied with the efficiency, and so happy that it didn't cost me an arm and a leg as it would have at Pep Boys. We will definitely be returning for our future car needs! read more

I've been coming to this location for several years, and always leave happy. They are very understanding of financial limits and work with you to come up with a plan to do services that are necessary, and wait on those that aren't as critical. Recently wait times have gotten a bit longer, but I just call ahead for the approximate wait time, go on a day that I can fit it into my schedule, and bring something to do while I wait. Every employee I have met has been friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and patient with all of my questions. read more

After going to Pep Boys with my fleet car and finding out they didn't have the specs for my 2018 Chevy Malibu in their system and couldn't help me, I called my fleet company and asked if I could go back to Firestone as I never experienced problems in the past when I took previous fleet vehicles there and they approved it. I called this location to make sure they could help me and Andrea answered the phone, looked up my car and saw that they didn't have the specs but she thought outside of the box and asked me to look at the tire size on the sticker inside my door. After giving her the size, she said they had that tire size in stock and I was thrilled! I'm here now getting the tire fixed and an oil change and will only use Firestone for service going forward! Caught these jokers not rotating my tires for multiple years that I was paying to have them rotated. I had a suspicion they weren't, and after marking my tires, confirmed it. I spoke with the manager, who told me they weren't being rotated because of a safety concern with one of the tires...which is fine, but why did they charge me for it every time?? The manager refused to refund me, since he said I paid for the "car care package"- the only reason I did that was to have the tires rotated. The manager was incredibly rude about it and refused to do anything about it or apologize for lying to me for the past few years. The district manager called and was very nice and apologetic. He admitted the Van Nuys manager acted like a jerk and was in the wrong. He offered me my money back, which I really appreciated, so I told him I would give Firestone another chance. They ended up completely screwing up my vehicle just from replacing a tire after that- caused me $800 in damage and still doesn't work right. read more

I wanna give zero stars but can't. I brought my car in due to my check engine light coming on. The store manager tells me what is wrong with my car and tells me what's wrong after doing a diagnostic and says 2 timing solenoid sensors have failed and we need to replace them. My car prior to coming in had a rough idle, shaking while driving and hard to accelerate so you can imagine how annoying it is to drive. So after replacing the parts he calls and says car is ready and that the issues should be gone now since this was a common issues for Camaros. As soon as I drive off the car is still experiencing the same issues but worse!!!! So I call him back and the same store manager seems clueless on the work we did and can't even explain in detail anything about my job other then say "idk" he didn't seem to want to help at all and as a former employee of Firestone I am very disappointed in the service I received. Store manager didn't seem knowledgeable on the job in the first place to even accept the work and didn't care to try and figure out why my car drives worse then before I brought it in. Looks like this location just wants to do work but not be accountable for making cars worse. I won't be returning to this location anymore. And to make things worse the store manager had nothing else to say but "idk what you want me to do" and when he said that I felt very disrespected because I spent 600 dollars for nothing and my car is worse and keeps making excuses on technicians being able to help me. So I wouldn't bring my car here if u wanna talk to people that actually know cars or even wants to help you. Manager name is Jesus and I don't normally write reviews but when you have a business like Firestone treat you this way I can't accept this and my money and time was wasted. My gas mileage ass gone down really bad and I feel the car lost power and doesn't drive smooth at all. Most mechanics will give me of all this work I need to get done when I only come in for minor maintenance work. It's been difficult for me to find a reliable shop until now. Blew out a tire today and went to go get another one because my tires are under "warranty", but found out that the warranty only covers repairable tires and because my tire was completely blown, they could only "pro-rate" it. Well instead of paying $115 for a new tire that wasn't under "warranty" I had to pay $90 (with tax), the pro-rated price. And of course I couldn't use a coupon because the tire was under "warranty" although it wasn't covered by the "warranty" because it was completely blown. I just don't understand the point of having a warranty on tires if it doesn't cover a blown tire. Kind of pointless. Not to mention the fact that after waiting for 2 hours, I left with the same spare on my car that I drove up on. read more

Been going to firestone for years now and find their deals and service pretty great and will continue to be going to them for service but may not be staying inside this location while waiting for my car. The waiting area is right in front of a glass wall and is unbearably to sit in when it is hot as the building seems to have no a/c running. Since I bought my tires at Firestone the rotations are free. That is the only reason I would go there. (I already wrote about my "brake" experience with them) I packed my lunch and went with plenty to occupy me in case it was busy. Rainy day - so just me and two other customers. I told them "just the tire rotation" I ate. I worked on my website. I transcribed some notes from my recorder - I kept looking for my car. Three guys were all hanging around talking. When i eventually asked how much longer, he picked up some papers from the counter and said "well your oil is very dirty and you have a belt that is cracked and needs replacing" ($157 for the belt). How long had those papers been sitting there? I told him "No thanks." and he called back for them to pull the car out. When I stepped out of the door I saw that they had parked my car on the far end of the lot. Mine was the only car and it was raining very hard. I didn't wish to speak to them anymore, and soothed myself with the anticipation of writing this report. I immediately went to Tri-Star on Sepulveda for an oil change. I asked him to be sure to check my fluid levels and belts. He told me that they always do. No worn belts. He pulled the car over to the door of the waiting room, and expressed much concern about the wet pavement, urging me to be careful. Thanks, Yelpers, for letting me know that my favorite car wash is also a great place for car maintenance! Getting a second opinion is always a good idea when it comes to Firestone. read more

This is long overdue but I need to give this facility a big thumbs-up! On October 9, some savage at church slashed all four of my tires and those of six other cars there. I was stressed, angry and it was hot that day too. Anyway, Andrea helped me and she was such a great customer service agent. She was very accommodating and helped me to find the best deal without compromising quality. She was helpful and friendly and she knew I was is such a dither due to the vandalism. I will continue to give these guys 5 stars. My dad drove into town from San Jose, and he needed his tires replaced on his Ford F150 BADLY. I called Caesar, told him the situation, and he said to come in at 7 AM and he would take care of it. And he did! He handled the whole situation so incredibly fast it made my head spin. My dad drove his truck, and he was in AWE. He said his truck has never run so smoothly, and he was impressed with the quality of the tires and service they provided. He said how happy he was that I had these guys nearby who took care of me, and he told me to never leave them ever (as if I ever would!!). Caesar and his team have become family to me.
