I had an appointment with them knowing full well what had to be done. I was told it would take 2 hours. An hour an half later another employee went over with me what had to be done as if I had just arrived. I complained. Despite the two employees working together and a 21st century computer system, the second employee said, "I don't know what that other guy said to you!" Don't they communicate about the status of their customers with each other? This is after sitting for an hour and a half in the waiting listening to a jerk playing insipid TikTok videos without ear buds. 3 1/2 hours later they call me up to pay up, just shy of $500 with weak form-letter customer service excuses and a $35 discount for all my pain and suffering. Then he asks me if I want to use my Firestone card. As if he's certain I have one. He doesn't ask if I have one. He's in upselling mode so I can spend more money with the interest from the card. When I complain about his unwanted assumption and upselling he gets an attitude about it. They tell everyone who arrives it takes 2 hours to service their vehicle regardless of what's being done. It's a form letter response for everything. The front office help are rude, dead inside, and on automatic pilot. I sat in that place for 5 hours and I still can't get my car to pass a smog test because they want me to drive around for 60 miles or so first. Thank you Firestone - Never again. read more

We brought our vehicle there to have new tires and a tire sensor replaced since it is convenient to take it there. We told them what was needed and they confirmed the order. When we returned to pick up the vehicle, we were informed the sensor was not installed but it should be fine with the new tires and they were trying to save us money. As soon as we left the lot the sensor warning came on. Upon returning our vehicle to Firestone to have this issue fixed, we were now told the machine used to check the sensor was broken but was on order, but doesn't know when it is coming in. Why take the job in the first place knowing you can't do the job in full? We now have to go back to square one read more

Let me begin by saying that I've always had good luck with my vehicles at Firestone. In this case I went to have a wheel alignment done on my vehicle "simple right" well no it was not! The equipment was faulty and required having the sensors replaced on their alignment machine. This I only notice when I drove and realized my vehicle steering had to be held left to go straight... no problem bought it back they did another alignment only to find out my steering radioes was changed dramatically... ok things happen So I my 3rd trip back Caesar made calls and found an expert who dealt specifically with my type of vehicle asked me to wait as he was bringing this expert in to solve my problems.. I waited the shop closed at 6:00 Caesar stayed after hours waited for an outside expert to come and deal with my alignment issues fixed my problem flawlessly and refunded my money as a wonderful gesture for my patience Caesar is honest and caring when it comes to his customers and I will recommend anyone in need of service without hesitation to him He went above and beyond to make it right read more

Just a quick update from my last visit to the shop... A nasty pothole took out another run-flat tire and both had to be replaced. Cesar placed the order and had all the work done (including lifetime alignment, which I highly recommend) by mid-afternoon. My entire family and I have been going to this Van Nuys location for years. The staff are wonderful and professional, and their prices are competitive if not better than the rest. (They've always thrown in a discount coupon without me even asking.) I won't go anyplace else. 5 stars, as always, for Firestone. Prior Review: I replaced all four tires a little prematurely because one took an irreparable puncture on the way home from work, and the wear on its paired tire was pretty heavy. (The rear tires could have gone for another 8 or so months, but I wanted to keep the wear even.) I called Arturo from my car shortly before closing hours. He got on the phone and quickly found my tires at another location, arranged for them to arrive following morning by 11AM, and worked out a fair discounted price for the set and installation. The tires arrived early the following morning (about 9:15 AM), and I was on my way to work in about 2 hours. (They also installed a new battery, so it took a bit longer.) Their techs are efficient, reliable, and relatively fast considering the task. And Arturo is the best. Great job! read more

I love this place. If you buy the lifetime tire rotations and alignment it is well worth coming here. At first I just expected to get oil change and tires rotated and for everything else to the dealership. Now I only go to the dealership if I know something should be covered under the warranty of the car. Overtime as I declined dealership maintenance packages out of mistrust I started to ask the guy at Firestone about certain maintenance that the dealerships were telling me that I needed. Truth be told this place was pretty honest and basically told me the services were a scam and that my car was fine. It has been over two years now and they have fixed everything on my cars outside of warranty and even have told me for certain repairs to go to the dealership. They even referred me when I needed body work done to a place that was half the cost of other repair shops and the work was top quality. It is hard to find an honest garage....there are just too many that are scumbags and rip off artist. Luckily this place is not. read more

This place is the absolute biggest scammers ever. For starters they up-charged everything to do maintenance on my car and purposely fucked up my car knowing I was going on a road trip. My oil was leaking and so much more and tried charging me 1,000 to fix something so easy. They literally saw a young woman and said all this stuff thay needed to be fixed and didn't do anything but two things. On top of that they tried to charge my friend 1500 to change break pads. They brought up other things to fix of course but the break pad Switxh alone was $400. We got break pads ourselves for 68 bucks and they were charging 130 lol for the same ones . I'd make this a one star, but I had good service here once. A long time ago. This last time I visited Firestone (and I mean LAST), they put on a new tire, but, in the process, somehow ruined my Tire Pressure Sensor. It now never turns off. When I went back the next day to have them fix it, they wanted to charge me $50 just to find out what was wrong. This was months and months ago, so now I just live with this problem that could cost a few hundred dollars to fix at the dealership. My one time good experience here a decade ago has been ruined. I have to drive further now for tires, but it's well worth it for trust. My TPS is screwed up and there's no fixing it. Thanks Firestone, for nothing. read more

I brought my friend's car in for battery trouble and they replaced it, cleaned the terminals, and completed an oil change. I also had them work on my other car due to pothole damage the car was making sounds after I unfortunately drove over a huge pothole. Not only did he break down the problem with our vehicle in terms we could understand, but he laid out our options and was beyond reasonable with pricing. The service advisor Giovanna wanted me to have my 2013 Honda Pilot to have coolant fluid exchange w/new antifreeze also to have the poly rib belt & remove & replace alternator drive belt also spark plug replace w/ fuel system cleaning. She don't know that I had it done at the Honda dealership so l will never come back to this place ever ever ever again and if I had the work done it would of cost me $718.72. What was the point of scheduling an appointment for an oil change if it's going to be another 2 hours before I can get service. I'm glad I never went to this particular center. But the response I got over the phone from their rep Andrea was enough to detour me. I called them to check the price for a nail extraction from a 19" wheel on my Honda Accord (it's not a 2020 Ferrari or Bughatti). So after giving Andrea all the info on my car model, and the size of my tire, she tells me it's gonna cost me $29.99 which is little overpriced for a simple nail extraction, but that's ok as long as I know I'm not being ripped off. So I decided to call other Firestone center few miles away from them, and after giving the guy there exactly same info on my wheel size and model, he tells me it costs only $20 plus taxes. After I had the service done at that location, I called back Andrea and the first thing I asked her was if prices are the same at other Firestone locations for the same issue I have. Her response was "yeah it should be". So then how come I gave you this same info on my 19" wheel with a nail in it (Honda accord 19") and you said it would cost $29.99 while at another place they told me it's $20 for a 19" wheel. So she started to bs me about my wheels being "low profile" and the cost for that is $30. I understand my wheels being low profile, but it's the same info I gave two different Firestone locations before they even saw my car, yet one tried ripping me off for $30 while another gave $20 which I'm totally fine with. I really hope they don't put the difference in their pocket at this particular location. I would like to end this review with a beautiful quote. My car broke down in the middle of the road on a Sunday when all of the mechanics I know are closed, we were towed to the Firestone on Van Nuys not knowing what to expect, and Carlos and his team made us feel so taken care of-- identified all of the problems with my car, gave me suggestions on how I could save money by using my AAA warranty, and made us feel comfortable and cared about the whole way through. I have never had such a positive, good experience servicing my car-- we all know how scary and painful it can be, but Carlos and the Firestone team are the best there is! Let me be clear, the services that I got, to my knowledge, was what I needed. That said, let me explain my 1 star review: In order to get my tires rotated, I need to get this "Car Care Package" thing. At other Firestones, like the one in Simi Valley, they do it as a courtesy service when you get certain services done, like a wheel alignment or an oil change. This place the last 2 times I've gone there does not offer the tire rotation as a courtesy service, but rather a $10 "Car Care Package". It comes with a tire pressure check, topping off my washer fluids, etc. That's a good thing, so I thought why not. What it also comes with is a full vehicle inspection, so they say. What that means is they are going to find something wrong with your car and try to sell you the repair. In my case, it was the battery they said needed to be replaced. This car was bought new and hardly owned for 2 years, while under a 3 year warranty from the dealership for the battery. The inspection included the engine and cabin filters check. I know for a fact my cabin filter needs to be replaced, so if that came back as "needs to be replaced," I was aware of that and it would tell me they actually looked. Their inspection came back checked off in the green section, which tells me they didn't check at all. Instead they said I needed to change my battery and my rear break pads. When I heard that it threw me off. I hadn't experienced issues with my break pads at all since buying the vehicle (no squeaks, no metal rubbing, none of that). My battery also hadn't shown any signs of wear and tear. I had to bring my car to the dealership for a recall. I asked them to check the battery in front of me, since I know the service manager. They hooked up the battery to their machine and they said the battery health was fine and didn't need to be replaced. They also checked the break pads and said those were fine, and didn't need to be replaced. The only thing that they said needed to be replaced was a rear break light (which was indeed out) and my cabin air filter (like the last person before Firestone said, minus the break light). Just for the hell of it, I brought my car to my mechanic friend who did a battery test in front of me and said the battery health was fine, and then checked all of my break pads and said all of my break pads had plenty of life left in them. The reason I still go to Firestone at all is A) the free maintenance period of my new car was over and B) because I bought the lifetime alignment deal when I first bought the car. i guess it matters the individual store you go to, because like I said, the Firestone I went to in Simi was fine, and the Firestone I went to for my old car in Encino was fine. Neither tried to sell me BS services and they were always able to work with my budget on services and repairs. The people who run this Firestone are dishonest, greedy and rude (I felt ambushed when they told me about the "needed services"). I sent in feedback to Firestone, but I'm guessing that they are doing exactly what corporate wants them to do, so they are the more model Firestone store since Firestone has a reputation for scaring people into services they don't need. In the future I plan to stick to stores where I know there are honest and honorable people working there. It sucks, because I live so close to this store. Ah well, I guess I need to drive to get decent service. read more

After I wrote this and wrote an email to corporate the local guys called me and the manager offered a refund from the labor. He expressed his concern for "hidden fees" and told me the guy who rang me up was new and didn't understand the charging structure. Regardless, I am impressed a business took the time to call, apologize and offer some money back. Wana over pay for an aligment? This is the place to go! I got quote on an aligment from this location by the manager.. Just because Its A BMW he said it was more difficult and needed more time to do it! He said it would be $189 for a 4 wheel aligment, when I told him tirepros charges $89.95 all the time he looked puzzled. And in a split second he matched the price and said he would do it for $89, that just goes to show there out to get you!! I had to wait a few days to go to tirepros down the street(sherman oaks) since they were super busy that day,witch is what drove me to go to firestone in the first place.. Anways my car is now aligned, I have my spec sheet and tirepros charged me $70 since im a repeat.. Stay away from here speciallly if your a female. There great at bs'ing ppl. I verified from a neighbor who sells tires for a living about the tread on my tires beforehand and he said I had about 50% use left. So definitely misinformed by the Firestone mechanic They took 2 hours to align my wheels & do an oil change. And so if you don't mind dishonesty and you've got a ton of time, and don't mind waiting and waiting, despite being told an hour to 90 minutes would be my wait time to get those things done, this is the place to come! read more

When i got there, they we all confused on what i wanted. i wanted 4 new tires. is that difficult to understand? So the tires came to 25 dollars more each, thats a hundred dollars more for mounting and insurance. i said i dont want the insurance, just charge me for mounting. they said than if u dont want the insurance, the tires are 20 dollars each more plus 15 each for mounting. the manager Harry said this is how it is. you have to buy the insurance of 25 dollars a tire to get the price we quoted you. 1.5 Stars - one because they're friendly and half because they pointed something out (although they were the last ones to service the system last and the issue should've been caught then) that otherwise, the job couldnt be done. Tech didn't do part of a job and lost accessory parts to my vehicle. Remains to be seen what they can do about that as those parts are long ago discontinued and I'll have to go back to make sure that they do the job because I've already paid for it. The only guy that has his name up on their "Wall of Fame", a Miguel C., doesn't ever seem to be on site. Maybe that's why the level of service seems spottier than before - or I know more about cars.
