I had taken my Ford Escape into the firestone on Yord Rd for an oil change. I made an appointment for the service and the truck was ready right on time. Scott is the manager and was very upfront and personable with me. He also brought it to my attention that the ball joint in my front tire had worn out and was close to completely breaking. Scott even took me into the garage to show me himself. At the time I was unable to get the extra service completed until the following week. Because of the "blizzard" they were a bit backed up but Scott told me not to worry, they would get to my car as soon as possible. When I returned later that night around 6:30pm Scott was there and was ready to call my warranty company as they were refusing to pay for the part. Scott went to bat for me and stayed late just to straighten things out. In the end, the part got paid for and I was able to feel safe driving my car again. Scott ended up staying almost an hour past closing just to make sure I had everything I needed and the car was just as I wanted it. Taking your car to get it fixed is never fun and you can almost completely count on them finding something else wrong with your car. However, this has never been the case when I have brought either of my cars in. I completely trust Scott and his mechanics with my wife and I's cars. They explain what needs to be done and even shows you what is going on. They also are very flexible and courteous. They way it should be. read more

I was pleasantly surprised after seeing the 3 Star overall rating. I had a flat tire, but it couldn't be plugged so I had to buy a new tire. Terrell showed me why it couldn't be plugged, but he didn't try to upsell me on anything, and Firestone had my tire size. They said it would be done in two hours and it was. read more

We just moved to the area and my wife brought her car in to get an oil change. That went smoothly no issues however I don't know what she paid. The second time we went in to have the timing belt on her 2009 Kia spectra replaced as maintenance. They quoted us over $900! this is crazy. I looked at the break down and they had the parts listed at $350 I know the belt pulley and tensioner come as a kit and costs $55 retail. the rest was labor and I called the dealer and they quote it at a three hour job. That is $183 as hour labor charge. I ended Up doing it myself and it took me 3 hours and $70 in parts because I also replaced the belts and coolant. My wife recently called to get an inspection on the car so we can register it in MD. I didn't know she was going there but after we dropped it off and called to see if it was ready there was no mention that it didn't pass. When she picked it up they told her it needed over $2000 in repairs. They said the steering rack needed to be replaced as it was leaking the parts and labor were $900! a rack retails for $135 and this didn't even include the necessary alignment after the work was finished. Other things like the same light bulb costing twice as much in one section from another, A bad bushing requiring the whole arm to be replaced at nearly 5 times the retail cost, instead of just the bushing at a few dollars. Failed for streaking wiper blades? the tires condition being described as marginal, when they were replaced just 4000 miles ago. All this has me wondering if the nail in the tire was even there when we brought it in. To sum up my disgust with this establishment I understand I know how to do the needed repairs. But for those that don't they are just taking advantage. They have taken the last dollar from me. I strongly advise you to go else where to a smaller shop that is more honest and open. This place has the pretty store front but they are shysters and shouldn't be trusted. read more

If I could I would give them negative stars I would!! The worst experience of my life getting my oil changed! Not only did I make an appointment days before hand and had to still wait their for 3 1/2 HOURS, but they made me late for work and royal screwed up my car! I went in for a simple oil change and they found a nail in my tire so told me I had to get that fixed as well. $230 later, I drive to Connecticut to see my family, and my car seized. Turns out they were so busy taking my money and changing my tire, they didn't put back oil in my car. I had to buy a new engine (thank god we found one) and now this simple oil change is costing me +$4000. I recently checked my paperwork as well, and I never signed off on anything that they were suppose to explain to me. I was just handed back the paperwork in an envelope. I will never use this company again and will certainly NEVER go back to this one. read more

I had been going here for a while and had no real complaints. August of this year, my car failed emissions. My car isn't particularly old so I couldn't understand why. I take it to them to get a diagnostic. They come back with something wrong w the catalytic converter to the tune of $2000. I was in shock. I held off doing the work because i had quite a lot if time before my vehicle needed to be retested for emission. A week ago (October) my jeep won't start. Thinking it's a battery issue I take it to Brooks and Huff because it was closer to me. The mechanics there manage to get it started after several tries and diagnose it as not being the battery. I whip out my paperwork from firestone listing the other things wrong with it wondering if the cause is already listed. The tech, Tim shakes his head no. They send me home in their courtesy shuttle because it's going to take longer to find the cause. Tim calls me in 45 mins and says I have good news all around. Your cars problem is related to the fuel pump for which their is an open recall!! I couldn't believe it. He also said the issue with the catalytic converter should not be your responsibility because it's under warranty for 8 years/80000 miles and you are just past that. Fight your dealership on that. I was stunned. I look into it further myself and find out that that warranty is actually a federal law!!! I was absolutely shocked. I contact the dealership, pointing out to them that yes, iam now past 80000 miles but when emissions failure and diagnostic took place I was under that marker. Long story short, they do both repairs and it costs me NOTHING. Everyone has to make a living but I was shocked firestone would do something so dishonest. They knew it was probably under warranty. Why they would not suggest I look into it, I don't know. I'm so thankful that Tim was honest and told me the truth. To show my appreciation until them a case of beer. I'm surprised firestone hasn't made it onto one of those hidden camera shows of taking advantage of the consumer yet.... read more

Went to have oil change and see if alignment needed. Only waited 20 minutes until they started "working" on the car. Service rep came out to say it needed brake fluid change based on age of car. I declined and asked if it needed the alignment and he said no. !0 minutes later he came out with a print out saying I needed an alignment which I asked him to do. He said it would be ready in an hour. After a while I saw them move the car to a new bay and the technician called me over to say the brakes were shot and I needed new front brakes and rotor. Got a price, they were having a sale! and told them to proceed. The service writer said they had the parts in stock and it would be an hour to finish. I noticed that nothing seemed to be happening on my car, in fact the technician was working on someone else's. After about 50 minutes an SUV pulls up and delivers 2 boxes, same shape as a rotor. Shortly thereafter (and my complaint about lack of progress) the tech was on my car. After another hour of work, the service writer told me it was almost done. That was when they started the oil change. I know it takes time but I don't know why he had to mislead me on 1) didn't need alignment and then it did, 2) parts in stock but nothing done on the car until 2 boxes show up 3) time to wait for things to be done, only to see that the oil change which was supposed to be done first was the last to be finished. Being misled time after time only leaves me wondering...Did I really need the brakes and rotors replaced ? read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I took a new tire there, which had a flat from a nail. They said it was unrepairable and of course wanted me to buy a new tire from them. I declined and took for a second opinion to MR TIRE on Padonia Road who fixed it NO PROBLEM at all. When I was at Firestore a customer who was there prior to me, they told him the same thing that his tire could not be repaired and also told him he needed 4 new tires AND THE GUY WENT FOR IT, bought 4 new tires. If you go to this Firestone be prepared to be lied to so they can sell you something more than what you came in for. read more

I have been to this location (1737 York Rd) twice now and each time, the men working have been very thorough and so nice to work with. I went there tonight after a different Firestone had not properly balanced my tires and noticed an issue with my steering wheel. Clinton, one of the technicians, sat down with me and discussed everything that he fixed and even showed me diagrams of my car to help me follow along. He also profusely apologized for the issue that the other store had done. The guys in this store are GREAT. I'm guessing the negative reviews must be from previous management. read more

I have visited this location for over 10 years and was a very satisfied customer. Recently they have changed and the staff is very unprofessional and you feel as if you are visiting a local pub where people are standing around and unconcern about the customers. I visiited there on August 27 and the young man came to the front desk with his shirt up and belly exposed and said "Do you want something" not May I help you. Then is walked away. I stood there for five minutes and watch the employees talk among each other and then someone else came up and said, "Do you need something" again" again no proper greeting or customer service. I will just say this established has lost a long time customer. Please scan your employees better to make sure they know how to greet and help customer. They are not on the streets they are at a business and they should act as so. read more
