We have had 3 cars serviced here.Tires replaced and repaired. The staff are always professional and friendly. This trip, I thought I had a nail in the tire that would need to be plugged. I had been told by another tire center run flat tires could not be plugged. On this visit they checked the tire of concern plus another that had low pressure. Neither had a leak. When I picked the car up there was no charge for something I'm sure took at least an hour. I fully expected to have a labor charge. It is so rare to find companies that still provide this type of customer service. We will be back, especially given the condition of our roads and highways lol. read more

Sadly, I have to update my review at a lower rating. I've been to Interstate many times over the past few years and have always had a great experience. However, I recently came in to get a flat tire patched and had a very odd experience. I drove in with my spare tire on and the flat tire in the trunk. I waited about 45 minutes, paid $35 for the work, and then left. Then a few days later, my tire light comes on again. I do a little investigating and notice that the spare tire is still on my car and the tire, still very much flat, is still in my trunk. Extremely confused, I called Interstate and asked how this could've happened. They asked me to come in the next day. Receipt in hand, I come in and then explain the whole story again and am met with more confusion from the guy at the counter. They take my car back and end up patching the tire, putting it back on, and putting the spare away. I made sure to double check this was all actually completed this time instead of driving off like last time. I'm not sure what happened, hopefully it was just an honest mistake. They only charged me for the one visit (as they should), but it's still super strange to pay for a service that just... never happened. I don't like to feel like I have to be skeptical about whether the work I'm paying for is actually being completed but unfortunately, my guard is up at Interstate now and I'm not sure if I'll be returning for my future tire needs. read more

These guys are remarkable. I've been going to them for over 20 years and always had great serivce, flawless performance and absolutely great pricing. But I haven't been there for a few years as wife and I bought new cars a few years back and don't drive as much as we used to (blame retirement for that). Today I go in with a tire from my riding mower that needs a new tube and one of the guys actually recognized me. The needed tube was not in stock and I told my guy that I was in no hurry (actually told him if he could get it back anytime before yesterday that would be great). I did tell him that grass was cut, wouldn't need it for at least 5 days. Less than 4 hours later I got a call - tire was ready. And this the day before a long holiday weekend. I went to what should have been a reliable shop and was told they could not fix the tire and I needed to buy a new tire (and they gave me a quote for "one!" and I knew I was in the wrong place). Knowing I needed to get home 350 miles away I did not know where to go or whom I could trust for the best advice. I reached out to a friend that used to live in the area and she provided me with the information for Interstate. From the moment I walked in and started talking to the staff, I knew I was in the right place. 45 minutes later, I was driving out on my repaired tire. Everyone was so professional and friendly as soon as I walked in the door and I was confident I could rely on whatever advice they gave me. Interstate Tire put my life in danger. I took my 2010 Mazda 3 to Interstate for new tires and an alignment. After the alignment the car was handling terribly, it was frightening. I then took the car to Lutherville Car Care and they informed me that the ball joints were so bad they were ready to fall out, and that the car had not been safe to drive this entire time. Interstate claim that of course the ball joints were more noticable after the alignment...but Lutherville Car Care said "dangerous" not "more noticeable". And now, the car needs another alignment. Which I'm sure they expect me to come back for. I also want to note that Lutherville Car Care said it was amazing that Interstate was even able to do the alignment given the condition of the ball joints. But they did do the alignment, and they gave me back that car without word. TL;DR Interstate Tire let me drive away in a car that was unsafe without warning me. That is either malicious or incompetent, I suspect the former. Don't chance taking your car there unless you know everything that is wrong with it already. read more

I used to come here as an employee at another shop a long time ago and drop off wheels and tires to be mounted/balanced, etc. They were always forthright on the phone, no BS, friendly (Frank is great) and had great turn-around time. Fast forward 7 years later and I took my car to them in late Feb, for what I thought was a nail in my tire... since it was flat in my driveway. They squeezed me in between other appointments and I went and checked out the antique stores next door on York Rd. They searched all my tires and couldn't find a puncture on the suspected tire but they patched it as a 'precaution' anyway! They even balanced it too! Other notes: They kind of have a waiting area but it's bare bones. It's not bad for a tire shop though. I chatted with the gentlemen at the counter and we nerded-out about Continental tires and they all were impressed with the condition of my car and complimented it (I take good care of my cars). I have been burned many times buying tires in the past. After going through two sets of tires for my Camry in 50,000 miles and being hosed by the dealership to the tune of almost $800 each time, I decided to look around. I certainly would never, ever buy tires from Mr. Tire. Horrible experience there. Brooks Huff is out the question as well (they forgot to balance tires on my wife's car once). I lucked out and had Frank serve me. He looked at what the dealership had sold me, told me that they were soft rubber and wore out quickly. He suggested a better set for hundreds less than I paid to the dealership. 50K miles on the tires and they are starting to wear. I got a flat over the weekend and Frank plugged it for $24. Sweet! These guys are excellent. They replaced a tire that I had damaged and remounted it on my car efficiently, at a fair price, in the last half-hour before they closed for New Year's Eve.. The thing that made them a step above for me was the fact that after replacing the spare with the new tire, the guys checked pressure in all 4 tires.
