They changed all 4 tires and strongly recommended a wheel realignment. After they did this, and me paying $991.00, I drove the car away from the shop and the steering and tires "didn't match" like they did before I brought it in. I called right back and got an appointment the next day. I came in the next day and before I could fully explain the concern, some out-of-it old guy at the counter was already explaining why I was wrong and showing me diagrams of tires and alignment diagnostic sheets. I told him, "I don't know what you're talking about, but my car is driving differently after you all worked on it. The car is pulling to the right and steering/tires communication is off." He tried to over-talk me; I waited for him to finish. Again, I stated, "I don't know what you're talking about, but it's driving differently." (Mind you, this is the same guy, who the day before didn't give me my wheel key back and I had to drive back up there to get it.) Some younger guy with a bad attitude went on a test drive with me so I could show him the issue. He proceeded to explain that "alignment" has nothing to do with what I was showing him. I told him, "I don't know what's it's called "alignment", "balancing", "tires", whatever, the car is driving differently after your business touched it." The younger guy took the car; I waited about an hour; he worked on it; and he explained more stuff with a bad attitude when it was done. I drove it and it was actually mostly restored to what it was before I brought it to this place. The problem here is their bad attitudes and the old guy not hearing the problem before he wanted to absolve Firestone of liability. I had a different technician the day before; and the guy that mostly fixed the issue the next day should not have been mad at me. If you're a woman, do not visit this location unless you want to be taken advantage of with pricing, etc. The tech recommended a new tire, actually 2, which I needed. However, when I asked fora comparable tire to the one I have because they didn't have mine in stock, the tech recommended a $360 (a piece) tire! Mine current tires, which I love are $175 each. I hate when men who work with cars think women are gullible or stupid and they can take advantage of us. Obviously, I went elsewhere. I'll never give them my business again. read more

Only downside was my vehicle was too big to fit on their equipment, but the manager called the other location in town to verify they could get me in right away. We were in town on vacation (usually visit twice-three times a year to stay at a family spot) and out of the blue our new (used) Subaru we've only had for a few weeks started acting odd. All the lights came on, including check engine. We scheduled an appointment on-line, walked in and they immediately took notes about the situation, gave us some ideas and took the car. It was a bit of a wait so we walked easily into the rail yard area for brunch and to kill some time. Their location is great! Scheduled an appointment online for a wheel alignment and I was pleasantly pleased that they were open on Sunday. I show up for my 1:00pm appointment only to be told that they wouldn't be able to do it because they only had one technician working unless I wanted to leave the car with them overnight. Since the car is not our primary vehicle I politely declined. I'm just upset that even though they had my information on the computer, they didn't have the courtesy to let me know ahead of time that they wouldn't be able to accommodate me, they waited until I showed up. I used to work as a Service Advisor at my brother-in-law's repair shop in San Diego and it only takes a minute or two to call a customer to say their car won't be ready or we would have to reschedule their appointment. After reading all the other 1-star review horror stories on here, it sounds like I dodged a bullet. Thanks fellow yelpers, I will not be returning!!! What would have made this visit better? Trained service people. Firestone needs to listen and respond to the reviews on this location. I went here because they are open on Sunday. I had gotten a flat tire out on a county road, and rolled in on my tiny spare. There were 2 other customers ahead of me so I waited. The sales guy tried to sell me some chunky off road tires, saying that was all they had in stock. I was then considering going to Albuquerque because there is no Firestone near where I live in Idaho. Sales guy came up with another set of tires more suitable for my vehicle, a 2010 Subaru Outback. While returning to Idaho I knew something was not right with these tires, I drove through rain and snow. Back in Idaho I went to my local Les Schwab Tire Center where I have been a customer for 9 years. I paid $75.96 to have 2 tires remounted (the tires are directional and were mounted backward on the right side of my car), all 4 needed balancing. The Les Schwab employees were as shocked as I was, and no one was laughing. Firestone manager first tried to tell me that the tires only needed to be rotated. Furthermore, I had asked that the car also be aligned. I spoke with the service guy he even tried to sell me the $200.00 alignment package. Manager said that an alignment was not on the work order. I went elsewhere to have the car aligned. No one checked the pressure in the spare before throwing it, the jack & changing tools into the rear compartment. The compromise was a reimbursement of $100.00, that is what I asked for. Either the employees do not know what they were doing or they just don't care about service and safety. read more

Horrible customer service. I stopped by on Sunday 10/13/24 around 4 pm to inquire if anyone could check a tire for me because my tire pressure light was on and I commute a long distance to work. I stood in line behind a woman in front of me for several minutes. The phone kept ringing and no one was at the front. Finally, someone emerged from the back. He immediately looked annoyed. He gave the woman ahead of me attitude along with rolling his eyes. When I approached the front and asked if anyone could check a tire for me he gave attitude and told me they couldn't check my car. Sheesh - if you want to keep business I highly suggest a more pleasant and professional demeanor. Perhaps suggesting the next available time with some professionalism might help your business gain more customers. If you have car issues or need car maintenance look elsewhere. The employees here are clearly agitated to work here. I will need to take my business elsewhere and I suggest others do the same. read more

This Firestone on St. Francis is run by Scammers! They told me my car cannot be aligned unless I buy $200 of new bolts installed. This was a total LIE! Two days later, I took the car to Firestone on Rodeo Road. They were able to align the car, AFTER they fixed all the WRONG adjustments the LYING Thieving Firestone on St. Francis did. Also, Last Year the Firestone on St. Francis did an alignment and told me I needed a $165 new battery. This was also a LIE! I took the car elsewhere, and had the battery checked, and it was fine. This year Firestone on St. Francis said the same battery is Fine. So, twice the Firestone on St. Francis has LIED to me, and tried to get me to spend hundreds of dollars, for things that are NOT needed. read more

I went in there last fall. I made an appointment to get my snow tires put on. I asked how long it would take, and was told about 2 hours. I got a babysitter for my kids and drove down there to make my appointment. I called before I left and they assured me they would be able to service my car. I get down there, drop off the car, and make sure to tell them I am waiting and that I do not live in town. I go for a nice long walk, and I come back 2 hours later. My car.... is still sitting in the parking lot untouched. I barely got out of there before 5 (when I had a noon appointment!) so that I could get home by 6 and relieve my babysitter who was thoroughly pissed at me and I had to pay overtime. The guy at the desk said they have been swamped all day. Yeah, well that would have been nice to know before I hired a babysitter and drove an hour to make an appointment that was supposed to take 2 hours. That's why I called. I get delays, but they should communicate with their customers what realistic expectations are for turnaround so they can plan accordingly, and they would have known they were running behind at least by the time I dropped it off. Flash forward to last weekend. My wife makes an appointment to get her snow tires off. I call before she leaves and make sure they are running on time, and I specifically make sure to mention she is coming in from out of town and will have to wait. They say yeah, everything is good. She drives down there and drops it off. She asks the same, and they tell her the job will take two hours. So she goes for a long walk with a friend, comes back 2.5 hours later and..... car is still in the parking lot, untouched. 2 stars only because I have been going there 8 years and I've never had an issue with the quality of their work. My advice to all the folks in Santa Fe. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY SPENDING EXCESS CASH!!! Here is the run down. Brought my car in to have tires replaced. Before an alignment could be done the technician explained I needed a new control arm on the passenger side and wheel bearing on front driver side. "Ok we'll give me a quote." He came back stating it would cost me $1250 for this. Shopping it I found Toyota of Santa Fe would charge me ~$600 for this! RIDICULOUS!!! I will never visit a Firestone again.. Here is an update on this situation. Toyota Santa Fe inspected my car and told me my control arm is totally ok. Further proof that Firestone is a con job. Even further update. Found tires not balanced properly and had to return again to have it fixed. Having to take another couple of hours out of my life to have fixed what should have been done right the first time. read more

I'm not very cold weather savvy and stopped into Firestone because my tire pressure light was on. I knew what the dashboard light meant but not being car savvy either I did not know how to fix it. The young lady at the front desk was the answer!!! She immediately had us pull in and then taught me how to check my tire pressure and gave tips on cold weather maintenance. This company put a faulty alternator in my vehicle (which I understand happens) causing my Subaru Forester to stop running shortly after the part replacement. I live 4 hours from where I had the alternator replaced and 2.5 hours from the closest Firestone. When I called this location, I was told that I could have the part replaced as long as I had a test showing the alternator had failed, as well as a receipt documenting the replacement, and that I could go to any Firestone Complete Auto Care to be refunded for the faulty part. I drive the 2.5 hours to Firestone Complete Auto Care in Denver. At which time I am told that the company does not do what I had been told. After clear dissatisfaction and phone calls with both the manager of the Santa Fe and Denver locations, I was told I could have a refund minus $70.00 because I did not have the faulty part, which I was never told I needed. I have no complaints about the Denver location, or the work that was done (once again, faulty parts happen), however the customer service team and management at the Santa Fe location seems ill trained in company protocol which has resulted in the loss of $100 dollars between gas to get to Denver and the $70.00 fee at no fault of my own. (Not to mention, the faulty alternator killed my battery, which also had to be replaced). read more

Don't do it! I had a scheduled appointment for installation of 4 new tires. I called the day before and confirmed the appointment. When I arrived on Saturday, I was told the wheel balancing machine was broken and that the repairman didn't work weekends. OK. Things break. Cool. So I rescheduled for the following Tuesday. I called Monday afternoon to confirm the machine was repaired, and was assured that it was fixed. When I arrived on Tuesday, I was told that the machine had NOT been repaired and the repairman might be by around 1:30. Maybe. The people are friendly but the management is pathetic. I mean the Regional management. Who runs a national tire chain, but cant't get the wheel balancer fixed? "But that's what the contract says" I was told. First, fire the lawyer who agreed to a contract that doesn't require the fixer guy to be on call , on the weekends. How can Firestone not sell and install balanced tires on weekends and stay in business? That IS their business. Go elsewhere read more

Brought my car in to Firestone with a flat tire. I normally use Discount Tire for anything tire related, but the wait was 2 hours at Discount. Called Firestone, they said they could do it in an hour so I brought it in. After sitting an hour in the waiting area, they told me they couldn't fix it because it had Fix-a-Flat inside, which is corrosive, ruins the tire, and now needed to be replaced. My car is all-wheel-drive so now all four tires need to be replaced. Sound like a scam to you? It is. Fix-a-Flat is corrosive, particularly to chrome rims (mine are aluminum alloy), but does very little harm to a tire. I called three other tire shops in town, they all said they'd fix the tire. Left Firestone, brought the car to Discount where they got me in and out in 90 minutes, at no charge. This may be their shop policy, but it's a poor one. Had they simply cleaned out the tire and fixed it they may have earned my future business. read more

I have to share the advice of others who have reviewed this store. I've been there 2 times, and will never go back. The first time was the summer of 2017. I went to have my BMW 5 series wheels aligned. They claimed that the technician who did the alignment had a BMW 5 series, and knew the car well. When I got the car back a day later, the steering wheel was not correctly aligned (a major boo-boo). I took the car to my local mechanic, who said that it wasn't correct. He recommended an alignment specialist. I took it to him, and watched while he did the (re-) alignment. I saw with my own eyes how far off all 4 wheels were...nearly undriveable! I paid the guy $65, and went back to Firestone and complained. They gave me the $85 back, but did not ask what the problem was... feedback not welcome. Second time was last week. I need a new battery for the same 5 series. Went in early, first person there. Still took me 15 minutes to talk with the overburdened person at the desk. She took my information, and said "do you want to wait for it?" I asked "How much does it cost"? Answer: $271. I had spoken with AAA beforehand--they bring the battery to my home, install it and take the old battery...for $161! I will never go to this Firestone again. read more

This was without doubt one of the worst, if not the worst, experiences I've had with a business in Santa Fe. First of all, the person at the desk told me I would have to wait an hour and a half for them to "get me in," even though I had an appointment and had just told them that. When I questioned that time frame, the person simply said "Oh," in a clueless sort of way. He then had to ask my name several times. Then they talked me into replacing the air filter. The car only had 55k miles, and this was not strictly necessary. That would have been all right, except that they didn't have the part in stock, and I had to wait almost until closing time for it to be delivered and installed. This was the real problem: They lost my keys!. Everyone denied it. One person "swore" he'd given them back to me. Another said she had seen him do it. The manager was rude and patronizing. He scoffed when I insisted that I hadn't been given they keys, strongly suggesting that I dump my purse out to look for them, which I did in his office, with him looking on. I felt manipulated and strong-armed. It was ridiculous. Then a technician found the keys. This was the one who swore he'd given them to me. He apologized, weakly, but the manager disappeared. It was a difficult and trying experience. They have a quote from the founder on the wall, saying something to the effect that "we believe honesty is a cornerstone of good business." What I experienced was a demonstration of the opposite of that belief. read more

I dropped by after a collision to have a tech check for mechanical damage before getting back on the highway. The person at the desk came out, looked over my car for me, and zip tied the tire shield out of the way so that I could safely drive the 10 miles home.
