So let me start by saying I travel from Vancouver to Salem only because my momma is a regular at this place and insist on building a relationship. I made an appointment to come down after 23 hrs of being up and no sleep and working a 9 hr shift in Vancouver. I show up for my appointment I give them the keys informed them I had to be back to Vancouver for another 9 hr shift so needed it fixed today. 4 hrs later I am told the suspension evaluation was done. I'm thinking come again the what was done? Nothing not a damn thing was done at all 5 hrs no work no results except you did achieve showing me your incompetence arrogance and attitude and the relationship you earned was my back side. Respect is earned with me. I am not my mother I will call you out when you fuck up if you don't like that get offended by that. Solution is do your damn jobs show me results!!! My time is money and my time is valuable I don't appreciate when it's wasted All in all this location is not on top of their shit and they gave me a whatever attitude and basically a middle finger and here is your keys. I read people for a living and I'm very street smart. I'm very disappointed that I left an entire day with 0 results. I don't care how nice you are I want results I pay for result and any money given to you I expect a simple standard of results. You failed to meet the most basic standards of any shop who work on cars and the attitude in your service was distasteful and arrogant. I use the CarAdvise app to do business with Firestone, since they work with Instacart to give their gig workers a deeper discount on car services to save money. I took my vehicle in and wanted a oil change and a tire rotation and was not satisfied. I am 99.9% positive that the tire rotation was not done. I have a front wheel drive car and my tires in the front have more wear on them of course, then the back and I get the car back and they look absolutely the same. Their complimentary inspection was not correct either. I know one of my lights is out on the car and they said it was fine. They also tried to sell me a air filter and I know I don't need one. I don't feel like I can trust this company again. I will take my chances elsewhere next time. read more

I'm bucking a trend here apparently, but I have had nothing but good experiences at the Firestone on Commercial in downtown Salem. I believe they have been honest with repairing several things on my older vehicle. They have squeezed me in for appointments pretty fast, and always had the vehicle ready for me to come back and pick up at end of day, so no surprises with them not getting parts or surprising you by saying they haven't touched the vehicle you dropped off that morning and they need to keep it overnight. Come on, we've all been there with this happening at other repair shops, and I am thankful these guys do NOT do that. They seem to care about me being happy with the repairs, and explain things pretty well. On one recent expensive repair, they were a little higher than a local shop and I did end up going to the other place, but I also understand this is a large national chain and sometimes they can't control or adjust their pricing. I have found them to be polite, professional and convenient and will definitely take my vehicle back to them in future. read more

Emergency situation was handled quickly, with friendly professionalism and expert diagnosis. I was so lucky to be near this gem of a business yesterday, when my car with new tires had an extremely fast surprise tire blowout. It was a sunny afternoon, and my two dogs had been in the car with me, running errands. The staff was sensitive to the situation and the manager checked their Lancaster store for a replacement tire, in case the puncture was too big. This showed great time-management! I have put this Firestone store into my smartphone, will return for non-emergency car care, and I highly recommend. read more

I called and they got my daughter's Kia Forte in to assess and fix the air conditioner. They quoted $450.00 and said it's the motor. I gave them her number but they kept calling me. She called to straighten this out and also gave them permission to replace the cabin filter (quote $51.00). Her final price ended up being over $780.00. And her air conditioner isn't working. An A for getting a quick appointment, a D on the work so far. They had it for 2 days. She had a relative pick it up cause she works. read more

this place has an online appointment process. they don't check to see if the times have been filled. this is their words not mine. when you call to confirm your appointment time they tell you that they are full and understaffed. they do not want your business. this is the first and last set of firestone tires i will ever have. crappy tires and less than crappy service. i will choose to spend my money somewhere else. if i could give a negative star rating on product and customer service i would do so. read more

I took my car in for driver side clunking and I told them it's prolly the strut. They called me and said I needed both front control arms and sway bar links. Needless to say three trips back and forth in there the did not fix the original problem and jammed a huge hole in my outer cv boot causing all the grease to go all over my car. Really GOOD! Based on the great reviews I chose firestone for a routine oil change and tire rotation. They were great! My mapping app had a different location and one call helped me find the place. They were not overly crowded and I was attended to promptly and the work done timely. Waiting area was comfortable and the sales staff was helpful and added a discount coupon when I checked out (WooHoo!). I'll be back regularly. read more

Firestone is the most professional and helpful auto centre I have been to. I discovered yesterday that I had a flat tyre minutes before I Firestone closed, and because I live in Portland, I would have been stranded without their help. Creed stayed open to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive home and did not complain he was running late. I am incredibly grateful and would reccomend the services of Firestone Complete Auto Care to anyone. It is so refreshing to be treated the way I was. I had a bad experience with the Firestone in Corvallis, where we paid for an oil change that wasn't carried out. (A different place told us three days later!) I complained and was promised that the next oil change was on them. A few months later, I want that oil change and it's not in the system. Tyler from the Salem Firestone was very friendly and took care of it, giving us the oil change we were promised. Even though there was no note in the system and I didn't have proof. I took my P/U in for a shimmy in the steering wheel. They recommend a front end inspection and tire balance. They did the front end inspection for $10 before the tire balace to make sure I wasn't waiting money on balancing the tires when there might be a bigger problem. They told me my steering rack had a little play in it but not enough to warrant any repairs. They balanced all of the tires (they were all out of balance). I really liked the honesty when they didn't try to talk me into costly repairs I really didn't need. read more

My husband was at the 295 Commercial St (Salem, OR) store getting our 2007 Volvo XC an oil change, tire rotation/balance, and a 30k mile check up. This was the first visit we made to this location. Firestone said we needed seven quarts of synthetic oil, but I have no idea if they over-charged us for the service and/or oil, and the bill came to $127.00. He then inquired about front wiper blades; those of you who work on and/or own a Volvo know that parts can be pricey but when they told him they would be $82.00+, I thought I'd do some shopping online while he was waiting at the store. I called two different Volvo dealers in our immediate area, as well as a parts store, and they all told me the cost was $54.88, installed. I'm no math whiz, but paying almost $30 less than Firestone quoted was a no-brainer. Additionally, my husband learned that the parts store he got the wipers/installation from charges $30 less than what Firestone charged us. Essentially, a short drive down the street would have saved us at least $60. I read the other two reviews for this shop and they mentioned how wonderful the customer service was. However, I'd rather deal with a slightly unpleasant customer service rep for fifteen minutes, than get over-charged for parts and services that I can get much cheaper a few blocks down the road. On a final note, no-one knows who writes these reviews--a Firestone employee's friend or family member could easily recommend them with the sole intention of bringing in more business. In writing this review, my intention is to provide potential customers with my personal experience. My advice: if you have a phone with an Internet connection, look online for better deals--you never know what you may discover. read more

So I am all about going to auto shops that are budget friendly and I try to avoid chains like Firestone at all costs... But I think my mind may be changed after coming here. So I am not from the area and was in an accident on a Saturday night.. My front tire got blown out and all I wanted to do was get some sort of used tire and a checkup in order to drive back home. I just wanted to be sure my vehicle was safe to drive on the freeway at the lowest cost because I was going to take it to an auto shop to get it repaired in my town. After going to 4 or 5 different places that claimed they were open on a Sunday I finally came to this Firestone. They told me that they were pretty backed up and that it would be a while... I have heard this before and expected to wait a couple hours at least! The staff was super friendly and gave me the remote and told me I could change the channel and relax while I wait. I watched some TV and then decided to stroll around downtown Salem. I was gone maybe 45 minutes and they were calling me telling me they were done looking at it! I rushed back over and was shocked because the price of the brand new tire was around the same price I usually pay for used ones(granted, I get the used ones that will last a while) and they didn't charge me to look at the engine either! All in all, I was very impressed with the level of service and will probably return in the future! read more

I cannot express how great these guys here are specifically Mike. This man and i had a rough start but he quickly fixed the hiccup and is now the only person i trust working on my rigs. Today i had to stop at les schwab ( it was closest)because my truck was shaking upon inspection i found i was down to 2 lugs on the front passenger side les schwab pulled it into their bay found out they didn't have the part so i called firestone and they had the part so i asked the guy at les schwab if i could safely drive the truck over there and he said yeh out should be fine.no sooner had i left their driveway did one of the 2 remaining lugs break off. By the grace of God i got the truck pulled safely over and got it towed. Then Mike got the truck into their bay at firestone with a rolling jack. And the problem was fixed quickly. Thank God for that last lug holding out and Mike and the Rest of the firestone crew being so quick, safety minded and educated on their line of work. Shame on les schwab. Please always come to Mike at firestone he may not always say what you want to hear but he is 100% about safety and he will not feed you any crap or sell you anything you don't need, that is another story in itself.seriously trust this firestone they are great. read more

I wish this Firestone was in our home town! We had come to Salem for a visit with family and, as we got ready to head home, the check engine light came on and our car started to shudder and shake. We knew it wasn't safe to attempt the 4 hr. drive. We saw the Open sign lit up in their window and headed in to see if they could help us. It was 5:59 and they closed at 6:00! We were worried they would just send us out the door but the extreme opposite happened. We were greeted with a smile and once we explained our situation the employee went to get the manager, Mike Warney. He was on his way out the door for the night but instead he stayed, opened the shop back up, hooked up the diagnostic tool and efficiently diagnosed the problem, confirming that we couldn't safely drive the car home. He ordered the part we needed, facilitated our after hours payment for the part over the phone for us, and patiently waited the 20 minutes for the delivery. Once the part arrived, Mike quickly got our car running smoothly and had us set for a safe drive home. When we tried to compensate him for his after hours time, he wouldn't hear of it! He said it was a quick and easy fix and he was happy to help. Rather than taking advantage of our situation, Mike offered honest quality service, incredible customer service and told us to think of it as an early Christmas present! An experience that started out as a stressful situation left us feeling like we had just met a Christmas angel! I strongly recommend this business! read more
