Elite Auto Service truly is the best. Layne and his crew are VERY good at what they do. I own a Jaguar XJ8 XJR and an Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas. I wish I knew about Elite Auto Service when I first bought my Jaguars. I brought my XJR to Layne after another "Jaguar Specialist" who actually caused oil leaks, a transmission leak, and a coolant leak while doing preventative maintenance. After "Jaguar specialist" guy told me that the coolant leak was something that I needed to live with, and was "normal" for these cars, I knew I had to find somewhere else. Luckily, I found Elite Auto Service. Layne showed me why my car, which never dropped a drop of any fluids before, was now leaking. I won't go into too many details. Suffice it to say, Layne had to redo the work I had already paid for. He showed me the parts, showed me the re-used gaskets, etc. He walked me through everything step by step. Layne did fix my beloved Jag. It now functions 100% perfect. No leaks! Not a single drop. Also, his labor charges were less than I imagined. Bottom line: What can I say. Layne repaired my car. She is leak free. I have had ZERO issues with the car since Layne worked on it. His customer service and work are excellent. If you own a European import, you really need to take your car / SUV to Layne. You will be glad that you did. Almost forgot. I took my XJ6 to Layne for a major tune up / wear parts replacement. (I am a big believer in preventative maintenance). We got the car back in a timely manner. The quality of the work was excellent. The customer service was excellent. It's been over 3 years since my last review of Elite Auto Service. I've been taking my Jaguar XJR to Layne, the owner of Elite Auto Service since 2013. He continues to provide excellent service for our Jaguar and now for our recently purchased Mercedes. We have NEVER had a problem at Elite Auto Service. He is honest, dependable and his prices are still very fair. We recently purchased the Mercedes GL550. This is our first Mercedes product. If we didn't have Layne available we would not have purchased the Mercedes. I just wouldn't trust any other shop in our area with servicing this vehicle, not to mention my Jaguar. There has been only been one other shop in the last 40 years that I've trusted as much as I trust Elite Auto Service. Elite Auto Service ranks in the top 2 of shops I've ever dealt with. I am a car guy. I work on cars as a hobby. I always have a project / hobby car in my garage. My wife and I have owned almost 50 cars in the last 40 years, and we know a lot about cars and automotive shops. It is always challenging to find a Dentist you trust and an Auto Repair Shop! Still looking for that Dentist, but found a repair shop that deserves kudos! We have a 2005 X3 BMW which had a water leak inside the cabin...wet carpets. Yikes! Also needed rear brakes. Not only did Layne and his crew find where the leak was and fixed it, but did so very reasonably. Had an electric mirror fixed, the brakes and that pesky leak...All done well and very fairly priced. Have some other things that need attention and will be heading back to Elite for those repairs. This guy (Layne) is honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy!!! I called and went to this mechanic (an extremely nice guy, by the way) after I received an estimate for repairs to my Mini Cooper from a Corvallis shop that had quoted me over $1300, far more than my monthly income. The owner at Elite gave me FAR more reasonable estimates (half, actually), and explained that a budget-conscious mechanic can use parts just as good as those with the Mini "stamp of approval" on them, and will do his best to fix what actually needs to be fixed. Elite did excellent work, and every effort was also made to get the repairs done at my convenience. I have to keep my ageing Mini going forever, and I'm certain I've now got the mechanic who will do his best to see that this happens. I can't recommend this service highly enough: If you've got a European auto, DO try him. read more

I have 1999 BMW m3 that I've been overhauling and when I was shopping for mechanics I looked all over the Portland area down as far as Salem interviewing different shops and elite was the best price on every individual task I was looking to complete. Being a smaller shop I was a little hesitant but he seemed very knowledgeable so I scheduled my first appt. which was to replace my vanos (BMW variable valve timing system) and since then I've had a lot of work done at elite and would trust him with my m3 for any work in the future, he is very thorough and provides the same level of work quality I would expect from high end BMW only shops, I would recommend him to anybody for the price, quality and speed of his work. read more
