The part that brought the overall rating down was the front desk experience. I've used this location for many years servicing several cars I've owned over those years because they had some decent folks working there, both at the front and in the garage. And I like the lifetime alignment option which I haven't seen anywhere else. But as the years went by, the changes in folks have also created changes in my experiences to the point I only go there now when I want an alignment done when an oil change is due (I tend to use Jiffy Lube for oil changes due to the shorter wait times but it is a bit pricey). The perception this time around is the garage seems to still have good folks in there but the front desk has some folks that don't really seem like they enjoy their job at all. The person who checked me in seemed annoyed that I used my new phone number when I made the appt which didn't match my entry in their database so I popped up as a new customer. He filled in all the info on what I wanted done then was surprised I had a lifetime alignment (because I'm supposed to be new). This of course made him start over so I offered my new number so he could update my record. Once done, he then told me it would be 1.5 to 2 hours which surprised me a little since I had an appointment. So I took a walk to a nearby fast food restaurant to get a drink and use the wifi. An hour after leaving, I get a call that it's ready. When I arrived, a different front desk person (lady) checked me out who looked even less like she wanted to be there. She didn't offer me a result of the alignment like I've always been offered before so I had to ask. After getting a "they didn't need to adjust anything" response to my question of what it looked like before, I decided I guess I should grateful it only took the hour I expected in the first place and just get going. Bottom line... the lifetime alignment is still a nice option considering all the potholes we dodge on the streets, but don't expect anything more than just having it done as explaining any results or getting a simple smile seems to be in the same category as dinosaurs... extinct. read more

The service manager was just plain rude. I have been to other Firestones and they have been fine, but the guy there today managing the techs needs corporate training. I called and talked to the front guy answering phone and explained that I had a flat tire and could hobble over and needed to repair or replace, but that I didn't have a ride. He said there was no problem and that they would be happy to help me and there would be no wait. When I arrived and talked to the guy at the front. He was friendly and entered my information and registered the car. Then he walked 10 feet away to the service guy who had been inside the service area the whole time watching us through the window. He obviously wasn't busy, but he never interacted with me. He just told the customer service guy I would have to leave the car for 6 hours. I went to JustTires and my problem was quickly resolved. Manager Robert Beau falsely claimed that I declined an A/C diagnostic that presumably would have avoided $1500 of work that failed to repair the A/C. The price paid is also significantly more than the quote the Wake Forest Road Firestone gave me. The printed notes from the Glenwood Ave "Firestone" report: "REPORTS WERE MADE PER ORDER, HOWEVER, ISSUE REMAINS". They were very kind and estimated it would be ready about 6 pm since I didn't have an appointment, ended up being done by 5pm same day. Added a last minute spark plug change and tire rotation without issues. Pricing as expected, they were very upfront about any costs which is always appreciated! I was extremely pleased that I was able to get my Honda in here so quick. Other places I called were weeks backed up and my service A1 light had been on and I do not neglect those reminders. It was easy to schedule over the phone and I was running late that morning and they still got me done in an hour. I was surprised. Staff was nice and explained the services and even told me next time I might need air filter change but it was good until next time. I unfortunately had a horrendous experience. I wasted in total 4 full days at two locations of Firestone. Three wasted days were at this location. I only took my car back there because they did repairs on it to correct an issue that was causing the check engine light to come on. After the repairs, two weeks later the check engine light came back on. I had an appointment. Dropped my car off at 7am. I never received a call from the store the entire day. I called three times during the day to check on the status. I was told they were still doing the diagnostic test. I called again at 6:30pm because they close at 7pm and had not heard from them. They said nothing had been done and they needed to keep it overnight. The next day was I was told they were doing the diagnostic test at 7am. Never received any communication the entire day. Called at 1:30pm and was told the previous day they forgot my car. How could it be forgotten when I had an appointment and called 3 times that day to check on it? I was told they did not know what was causing the check engine light to be on and that I had to take it to the dealership. Now I have to pay a $225 diagnostic fee to the dealership. Talked with a service rep. Thurs 5/30/24- dropping off truck Rep (R)Robert Malik- what are we having done today? Stuart/customer (C)- I did it online, it's in the computer. At this point, other reps open the order, as it was done in the past R- He told me to give him keys, see you tomorrow, in an abrasive tone. C-lets verify it is correct. R-started mumbling/talking. Pulled up the wrong vehicle. C-I said it is the truck not the car. R-you told me it was the car. C-No I did not. R- Told me I had a bad attitude and was not treating him right. He actually refunded me the additional amount I had to spend at my dealership to get my car diagnosed. Called made an appointment for a Thursday for an oil change, rotation, and inspection. Arrived to drop my car off at 7am was told no inspector was working that day, rescheduled drop off for Monday after the weekend for 7am. The store was locked up no employees in site. Called later finally got an employee, he apologized and I drop the vehicle off around 9. Called about an hour later and told me the bulbs were out for the license plate, they weren't out the day before when I checked, and they are $16 a piece to be replaced and are needed to pass inspection just had them replaced to get it over with. I went and picked it up around 12pm same day. Found that they charged an extra $10 for tint on windows, there is none. In the end its insane to me that a business can be around for so long lying and being so undependable. Shame on you all. read more

I am sad to have to write this review. I depended on Firestone for several years. They were always honest and helpful. However, my last experience there has driven me away. I bought four good quality tires in November 2018. Two days ago, one went flat. I took it Firestone. They could find no puncture on the tire. They put air in it, off I go. Next morning, tire is flat again. I take the tire back. Same thing, no puncture. Ok, give me a new tire, pro-rated for use. They say, "you didn't buy road hazard protection so it's not covered." DO NOT COME HERE FOR SERVICE. I WAS QUOTED 1,400 to fix an error code for a check engine light. I thought that was too much especially being the car displayed no signs of an issue other than the engine light. I went to Sir Walter Chevy off Glenwood for a second opinion...all my car needed was a throttle body cleanse which cost me their diagnostic fee of $140 that's right 10X cheaper!!!!!! than what Firestone said was needed to fix the car. To make matters worse I applied and was approved for. 1,600 line of credit with Firestone on the same day. Needless to say I closed the account and will never go to another Firestone again! Now I'm left with negative remarks on my credit history for closing an account within 30 days of opening it because I was blatantly lied too. Ohhh and my quote is below I'd u need proof! 1,000 in labor for a 350 dollar part I didn't even NEED! I've filed my claim with the BBB and will not stop until these people are held fully accountable. Honest and fairly priced for pulling a nail and patching a tire. Half the price of Chapel Hill Tire to patch and no effort to gaslight/upsell. I had gone to Chapel Hill Tire bc of the reviews, and they wanted to charge $$ to repair a tire and also tried to convince me a nail in the middle third of a tire was not patchable and that a new tire was needed. Maybe they thought a parent with a toddler driving a 2023 vehicle would just say yes? Nope. I pulled into Firestone because they were the next place on Glenwood. STAY AWAY...if safety matters to you. I don't typically leave reviews, but felt this was necessary. I bought 4 tires from Firestone $1000-- and while on a road trip they all began rattling. My steering column rattled. I needed to pull over and get my car checked. I stopped at my dealer who informed me all the tires were incorrect for my car. The issues with my tires were they were not wearing correctly. They were not the correct size. They were not the correct speed rating. So basically they were not correct tires. Firestone in that area could put on new tires but not till the next day, they were out of stock. I replaced my tires with the dealer and continued my road trip $1200. Continued on my trip safely. When I returned home, Ricky at Glenwood location said he won't reimburse me because it wasn't a safety issue. My entire car shook between 50-65 mph. This did not only rattle the car, it rattled my nerves and he said this is not a safety issue. He asserted this was not an issue in spite of the other Firestone and the dealer saying my tires were not correct. I would NEVER use this Firestone again. read more

regarding Road Hazard Protection Don't buy it! It is not even administered by Firestone, it's a nationwide policy that favors the dealer! Some of the plan disadvantages: Each of my light truck tires Road Hazard Protection costs $33 including tax. That's $132 total. Firestone can patch your tire instead of replacing it. The plan only covers $20 if patched, and most of the nails I've picked up could be patched. The plan only lasts 3 years. The credit towards a new tire is pro-rated by the life of the tread. If you are less than 25 miles from your dealer you must return it to that dealer. Read the policy on Firestone's site and understand you'll likely lose money on this policy. read more

Made an appointment online for oil change and tire rotation. I was in and out in less than an hour. Too bad they didn't seat my oil filter and on the way to the beach I got a low oil level warning. But since my filter is on the top of my engine I was able to correct it. Don't bother with their credit card. It's not worth it. read more

Oh man. This place keeps killing it! This time around: "says here you need to replace the cabin air filter" and they produce the air filter they removed to show that it was indeed not pristine. How much? Oh... like 50 bucks. 50 bucks for a $12.00 filter and about... 2 minutes of labor time. We declined the service, and they declined to put the filter back in! They seriously just went, "oh, screw it. No need to replace this filter we removed from the car without anyone's permission whatsoever. They can just drive with out it while al this crap just gets passed straight into the car's duct system." We picked up the part from the parts store ($12.00), replaced the cabin air filter (5 min), saved $38.00, and again, regreted ever buying tires from this place because we have to go back to get them serviced, keep having to reject every maintenance suggestion they float by us (at outrageous prices), and keep having to go behind them to finish their work. I am a concerned parent of a young customer that brought his truck week of 7/16/2021 for an oil change to be told he also needed an alignment. My son got alingnment completed and drove . He mentioned the car seemed not right when on 7/22 on way to work his tire came off. I am thankful this did not happen on highway. My son had to get truck towed to Firestone. My son was very upset . He showed us a picture and you can clearly see there is no crack or broken part, it simply came off while driving. Since he drove it a couple days Firestone said it could be there fault or was my son's . It was definitley theirs because anyone can see there is no breakage. Firestone did not do a proper job and chardged my son another $1,891.19 on top of the original oil change and alignment. After picking his truck up , my son had to return it again because it wasn't driving properly. My son was told they forgot to tighten bolt. After picking up his truck again , my son told me it's still not right, looked like a bolt was stripped and Firestone did not bother to get off and replace, We decided to take somewhere else and pay more $. I called on my son's behalf on Wednesday 7/28/2021 to speak to store manager and was told he would call me on Friday 7/30/2021. Still waiting for a phone call. I would like Firestone to take responsibility and refund $1891.19 to my son. The outcome of their mistake could have been worse. Young people beware! You don't want to be taken advantage of. Dishonest service, worse than I've ever experienced in my life! I previously purchased a lifetime alignment package from a different Firestone location and came by this location to have my alignment done after going almost 10,000 miles without having one done. After waiting a mere 25 minutes in the lobby and being told my alignment was done, I was in utter disbelief both because they hadn't actually moved my car until about 10 minutes after I sat down, and the fact that at best an alignment will take half an hour or more and probably closer to an hour based on the amount of miles and conditions my car has seen since its last alignment. Nonetheless, as soon as I met the service advisor at the counter I was told that the printer was down so they could not show me the spec sheet to prove my alignment was good. The advisor told me everything was now perfect on it after the alignment which I knew was a lie because my car has no factory toe adjustments in the rear so the toe is slightly out of spec, after demanding some form of proof so that I could uphold the warranty on my tires I was informed again that they could not email or print the sheet and that there was already another car on the rack so they couldn't put mine back up. Savvy to exactly what was going on here I took my car to a nearby shop and to no ones surprise it was sorely out of spec. Both the technician and service advisor lied to me multiple times about the work they claimed was performed. The way business is conducted here is absolutely repulsive and I do not give one stars very often but this business has more than earned it. I implore you to avoid this location especially if you aren't very keen to car maintenance because lord know what other shortfalls and lies they've tried to get away with other customers. Good Solid Service. I purchased the lifetime alignment package and that has paid off over the last couple of years. Though my car did pull to the left for a while, but eventually it was fixed. No big deal. I also get my oil changed there and they do a great job as long as I give them enough notice and drop it off in the morning. They usually don't up sell me and I've overheard other conversions with various customers and they don't push the up sell too much either. Overall they do a quality job at a fair price. read more

We've been taking our cars here for several years, and there is a reason. Consistent, sound service. I'm writing the review now because we dropped my car off yesterday evening, before closing, and they said they would get to it first thing in the morning. My car was making a thumping noise when I drove more than 55mph. I thought it could be a tire issue, or maybe a belt needed replacing. Tire issue for the win! Firestone contacted me early this morning (fast!) with that information. They never try to sell us another service. I've never had an unfriendly exchange (but I'm always friendly to those working there, so there's that), and the final charge is always less than the estimate they give me over the phone. Went out to my car and had a flat. Called to see about a repair. They had no time to repair my tire, that is until I said it's off the vehicle. Then it was ok to drop off. When ready to pick up, asked since I'm paying for it, if they can put it back on vehicle. Nope. That would be 20-30 minutes until the tech that worked on my car could get to it because he just started an alignment. 3 guys sitting next to lobby chatting it up. Asked about them. Was told they're all on lunch. Yeah, sure they are. All at once? Come on man. So I take the tire home to finish the job I paid for. Upon installing my tire, I notice the center cap is missing. Finish installing tire and call them. I told them it's probably on the balancing machine. Nope. I'm told it's not there and the tech that repaired my tire went home. That's funny. I live 5 minutes away. Tire took all of 7 or 8 minutes to put on. So I guess the tech who was working on that alignment didn't complete that alignment? Where he go in that 20-30 minutes I was told it would take??? Then I'm basically called a liar and was told a different tech who didn't repair my tire conveniently recalled it not having a center cap. Of course he did. Again, how convenient. I'm told they would talk to that tech tomorrow to see where it is. I call customer service. No call from Area Manager. I get a call the next day saying they found it in his toolbox. To come down and they'll install it. So I go down and it's handed to me. They knew I called customer service. So now I have to once again do work I paid for. Escalated it to Regional Manager now. I suppose if the Area Manager doesn't care to make it right with the customer, why would the crew? Great leader from the ignore the customer and he'll go away clan. read more

A couple of months ago I bought over $800 worth of tires and services including the road hazard protection. Today I discovered a nail and a slow leak while I was driving for Uber. I located the nearest location of Firestone which was on Glenwood so I went there. Once I got there I told them my problem and said it would be over 2 hours before they could get to me; they even checked with the manager .... I called the next closest location and they said that were busy but could get to me Immediately when I got there. And they did such. I got my tires rotated here and was in and out in about 15 minutes. I initially didn't have an appointment and was told to come back in 2 hours when it wasn't as busy. But when I returned, the service was prompt. The staff were really nice and the customer service was really good. read more

This complaint is NOT with the local Firestone but with their website. I made an appointment online on 10/29 @ 8:45am received an email confirmation on 10/29 @ 9:35am for a 9am on 10/31 appointment. I arrived at the local Firestone only to have them tell me they have no appointment for me. The lady explained this happens quite frequently with online appointments and she did work me in but I had to wait for 2.5 hours for an oil change and state inspection. I have a call in to an area customer service rep to call me but so far no call. I have been a customer there for over 20 years and now I am searching for a reputable company that will think enough of their customers to operate a "working" website. read more

I generally think that Firestone is a reputable place to take a car and not feel like they're going to try to sell you on everything possible that you don't need, but this location REALLY let me down. I recently took my car there for the first time after a cross-country trip after having it just serviced before the trip in California at another Firestone. I had recently bought a lifetime alignment and balancing and they could not find it in the system and were unwilling to call the other location that I bought it from to verify, so I had to dig my receipt out of a pile of boxes after moving cross-country (strike 1). I also asked for the full car inspection beyond the standard free version and they threw away the results instead of giving it to me when I checked out. Of course I didn't realize this till I got home, so I had to call and have them dig it out of the trash and make another trip there to pick it up (strike 2). And then the real problems and not just inconvenience: The results on the checkup showed that they didn't actually inspect the car since my tires magically gained more tread and tire pressure since they were just checked in California 4500 miles before! Magic! ... or someone wasn't actually checking what I paid them to do. Incredible that all 4 of my tires came in with 32psi when two of them left the last Firestone at the correct 30psi. Also, all of my tire treads were 9/32 when before they were 7 and 8 (strike 3). Ok, I'll give them one extra strike to work with: They called me to say that the car checkup found that my air filter needed to be replaced. Knowing that they are very cheap and easy to change, I said no thanks. When I picked up the car, the guy emphasized to me that I really needed to change it soon. I went home, ordered a new filter and just got it and installed it to replace a VERY CLEAN filter! I'm assuming that they never even looked at it and just assumed they could make an easy $30 off of me, and that I would cave when they emphasized it to me (strike 4!). I will never go to this Firestone again and will now drive further to a different one that I trust (4305 Wake Forest Rd.). read more

In my 5 years with Firestone this is by far the worst Firestone service center ever. I had a weak battery which I wanted them to check and they eventually charged me $200 for nothing - they did not change battery - instead they charged me $99 just to run diagnostic check on my car which had no issue and charged $30 for labor just to swap my battery with new once and then replace it back with my old battery. This service center is headed by Berry who is a complete cheat, dishonest and they will just try to fool you with exorbitant services that are not even required in the first place. Most of the problem with the car was because the Firestone service men were testing my car with a wrong key that was preventing my car to start up. They fooled and cheated me with $200 charge for 1 hour of service which amounted to nothing. DO NOT GO TO THIS FIRESTONE (6000 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612) instead the one at CaryTowne Blvd Plaza is way better and much more honest. read more

I am 100% undeniably DONE with Firestone. I'm pretty sure some of the techs started their training at either Mattel (working on hot wheels) or Walmart. Either way there is some serious incompetence managing these stores. Ricky, the manager at Glenwood Raleigh location, is a lying, conniving, useless asset to the Glenwood location. I have encountered the same situation as others, lying about an alignment completion with "broken printer" (more than one firestone engages in this practice). In a desperate situation needing some ball joints and bushings pressed into one of the most widely built and used control arms (late 90's/early 2000 GM half ton truck), Not only did three techs hand out three lines of inconsistent bullshit excuses as to why they couldn't do it the "competent" Ricky tells us " we don't do any press jobs on vehicles not in our shop". Wait!!! We called before proceeding to the shop and were told to "drop them off and we'll take care of it". WAKE THE FUCK UP CORPORATE!!! I've used four locations around Raleigh, all four practice the same "slight of hand" conniving practices leading me to wonder if these aren't part of the Firestone business initiative. read more

I'm driving frantically around due to both my headlights being out and being rainy; worried im going to get a ticket I come to here and they say I can't help you because we are under staff.
