The team did a complimentary inspection during which we found out her power steering pump failed, and she was in desperate need of new tires. They worked amazingly well with her budget, and her vehicle sounds like it is new. She grins ear to ear for her 'new car', and honestly, I'm right there with her. I always worry that when she does car work alone, she would get 'strung along.' It didn't happen for her. She was treated with respect, we were shown videos and photo evidence of all issues, and the team was so friendly. The staff was friendly enough, buy I was not happy to be told that they could not do the service that THEIR system let me make an appointment for. So they wasted my time. They need to get a better online scheduling system, or have a human review all scheduled appointments for potential issues. This was a total fail. read more

Very disappointed with them. I never had an issue before. I got a nail in my tire. you can see it and hear the hissing coming from it. I called at 5:45pm to see if I can get it patched up quick. I was told the are closing early today. No holiday, no special day just closing early. When their hours are 7am to 7pm. Then they told me to bring it tomorrow and leave it so they can fix when they can. I have a job to go to and do not have the ability to just leave it their until they get to it. Usually I'm ok with doing so but it's a patch up. They do not need to look for the leak. I'm very disappointed and displeased. Especially the amount of money I have paid for their services they have done to all my cars, to be treated that way. Notice my tire had an issue on my way from the Casino. Stopped by here and they squeezed us in quickly.

My sister's tire was about to pop & had a big bubble.We (my sister,her bf, & mines)were in Foxwoods. This was the closest shop near us (where we driving on our way back home). I was wary b/c Firestone gets a bad rep but we had no choice. It was pretty full in there when we arrived .They're one of the only shops open on Sundays. Most of mechanic/tire shops are closed. There was one person ahead of us on line. One of the workers popped on the other register to help us. I believe it was the Manager of this location. He was very nice! We told him our situation. He said bear w/ them they will try their hardest to get us in. It may take up to 3-4 hours. He said there might be a cancellation at 2pm(which was nearing) & 2 more employees were coming in.We agreed b/c what were we gonna do. Thank goodness we were located near a bunch of stores. There was a Dairy Queen,Chinese restaurant, a package store & a whole bunch more. We went grabbed a bite to eat @ the Chinese restaurant(will review). My sis & her bf grabbed liquor & beers from the package store(will review). My bf & me passed on the alcohol but I did get some lotto tickets & scratch-offs. By the time we knew it my sister's car was ready. The customer did cancel & more mechanics did come in. We were out of there in under then 2 hours.Manager didn't overcharge us but it was still expensive for just 1 tire. My sister's bf did some promo offer if he signed up for the Firestone credit card. Damaged my car while in for Service. Then claimed they didn't. Id be fine if they just said sorry an accident occurred, we would like to fix it and make it right. Spoke to corporate who requested video footage of the time my vehicle was in. The store did not respond with any footage. Not sure why you wouldn't provide any video proof if you didn't do anything wrong. Then again cameras don't lie, people do. Save yourself the time and money and go anywhere else. read more

Terribly bad service, rude and confrontational store manager. Misdiagnosed the fuel injector issue with my vehicle. Had the them diagnose my vehicle and was promised to repair my vehicle for $390, next day after their misdiagnosis they want $647. Will be taking my business to a reputable repair shop in the area such as Stillys, Lisbon Tire and East Coast Auto Sales. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I don't even know how to start this review except to say that they went way over and beyond for me. I was on vacation and didn't remember to get my oil changed before we left. My check oil warning came on and I looked for a place close by. I called them and explained my situation and they said to bring my car right over. I totally expected to wait there for quite a while since I didn't have an appointment but they took my car right in and serviced it in the spot. I couldn't believe it because that isn't the norm at all for where I am from! Not only was I out of there in 30 minutes, they applied a coupon without me asking so the price was about $20 less than I pay at home. Firestone always takes forever for services. However if you make an appointment, at least the wait should be just a little less i thought. Not my case. The sad part was that there were walk-ins coming in and out and they were in an out while I was still there. Lots of friendliness and fast service to some customers which I personally find very unfair. Believe me I don't care what employees do or dont as long as I don't sit there for an hour and a half for an oil change when I made an appointment. After I spoke up, my car got ready in 10 minutes. seriously!? There are a lot of choices in Norwich, perhaps is time to find a new place. My friend told me they don't change the oil filter when they do oil changes. So before one of my routine oil changes. I stopped in a AutoZone parking lot and got a sharpie and marked up my oil filter to see if it be a different one after. Well to my surprise I found out all under my car. I thought I was leaking fluids from a broken part but nope. I seen a drip still on the oil filter. I go to wipe off the oil filter to mark it with a sharpie. The oil filter moves. With the rag still in hang I can twist the oil filter with just my pointing fingers and thumb. I mark the filter. I check my oil levels. No oil in my car. I go get oil change. They changed the filter but did not say anything about the oil levels or anything. I told them you guys messed up on my oil change last time. I get a free oil change. He wouldn't even let me speak to the manager. He just brushed it under the rug with an oil change. I feel you guys owe me a warranty on my engine. You guys have done engine warranties when you guys messed up. My friends boyfriend works there so I hear the stories. You guys did me dirty. Now my car feels weird. I've been a loyal customer since I was 17 I am now 24. My sister and bro go there. I'm never going back. My family won't either. read more

Had a great experience!! I thought I was leaking a coolant and was totally prepared to pay replacing the water pump and other expensive repairs. It turns out my radiator cap was the only issue. Had my tires replaced at this location as well as alignment, etc. The technician asked if I would like to add the lifetime alignment service to which I replied no. They said that they were going to "give me a deal" in which it would be the equivalent cost of the one-time alignment ($80) and instead charged me $140. If there was an option for zero stars I would have chosen that. Went there for a basic oil change... less than a week later my engine seized due to lack of oil. My vehicle is 5 years old at 95,000 miles and I have NEVER had any issues at all. I have only had to do the basic wear-and-tear maintenance over the years like oil changes, tires, and brakes. Other than that she has ran perfectly. Thank God I have great insurance they are taking care of the engine issue and going after Firestone for damages. I have had great service at other Firestone locations, but honestly I will never go to another Firestone again because of this. Avoid Norwich Firestone if you value your vehicle. read more

I Went to this Firestone 3 days ago for a very simple,basic snow tire change for the season (2 tires ) as I looked out into the service area I see a person open the hood of my car than 3 more employees come over giggling as they wiggle things and fiddle around under my hood ! I asked the counter person " why is my hood open for a simple snow tire change ?"... I still see hands moving around under my hood... ... All he could do was mumble softly a reason I couldn't hear. Even as Im talking with the counter person I can see these 4 employees under my hood fiddling with things. Its a new car with 6000 miles,it doesnt need anything done under the hood...NO GOOD !... I had to tell them to close my hood,the car is here for a snow tire change,and they acted insulted,how dare I say that. You don't need to open the hood for a snow tire change..for this NONSENSE and Unprofesionalism you get one star,and I was nice to not mention any names. I have been coming to this firestone since 2006, and by far are they the best all around repair shop in Norwich. Yes they are always busy, but that is a sign of the quality work they do. Everyone in this store has always given me 100%. I am pretty upset right now that my car is being repaired at Firestone and there is not a thing I can do about it. I broke down on my way to school and while the guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, I have a strong suspicion I am being taken advantage of. But my car will nto even start so I cannot take it anywhere else and AAA will not tow it again so I am screwed. They claimed I needed a new battery and new alternator which may be the case, but $103 starting labor, $230+ for the alternator (they only cost $150 tops) and battery $19 plus other bogus fees. All in all this is going to cost me about $200+ more than it should but I must get my car working ASAP so I am screwed. But you would be wise to avoid this place if you can. I witnessed these guys obviosuly trying to convince almost every customer to buy things they probably did not need for a very inflated price. Then if you have to leave your car there overnight for any reason they charge $30 a day. read more

Wrote a review for wrong city. This is about Firestone, 251 W. Main St., Norwich, CT. Went in for winter tiress, and cameout with bill $1888. Most of it brake work they convinced me I needed. Later I remembered my old independent mechanic in PA had done this work recently! Worse - they replace oil gasket and after that the engine smokes and smells. 3 visits later they strongly recommend replaceing oil seal. Car did not smell before - they had replaced valve cover gasket. Now I think the engine will catch fire on long trips. Going in again tomorrow. I want them to replace the seal - I am certain something was wrong with their work on visit #1. Engine did not smell or smoke before this. Do yourself a favor and stay away from big corporate auto shops! read more

I had an appointment and they kept me waiting 3 hours for tires / alignment. They said there wasn't time to do the 1 hour alignment before closing and if I came back they'd do it for free. So I sent my daughter back and 20 minutes after she arrived they said they were done. So she just left assuming they had done it. They didn't provide the alignment sheet showing the changes and didn't have enough time to have done it. If you give them the chance they will cheat you. read more

I owned a 2000 Malibu, which I bought new. Aside from a few oil changes from fast lube stores, the Malibu was cared for entirely by Firestone, mostly in Springfield, Mass, and Norwich, Ct. There were other Firestone stores up and down the East Coast from Florida to Mass - they were all good to great. They are electronically interconnected and were able to bring up my car's history no matter where I was. It's not that I had all good experiences with Firestone during the seventeen years that I drove my car, which was recently totaled during a hit and run, it's that any less than good experiences, and there were only two, were quickly resolved to my satisfaction. Today I called Firestone to make an appointment for a diagnostic on a used (one owner) car that I'm thinking about buying. The gentleman who answered the phone, Chuck, was genuinely disappointed to hear that the Malibu had been totaled. That car meant a lot to me and Chuck validated my feelings. That is what I'm talking about. Firestone recognizes and respects the human investment, the physical and the emotional. When the Malibu was totaled, it was in perfect condition.
