Just had another car worked on at Stillys and the job is done right ! They are all professional and a great crew ! My family and friends will also agree it's the only place to go for any work as it gets done correctly and flawless the first time ! Paint jobs are perfect especially with black - my car looked like glass! They had replaced a light bulb on my other car which they were honest by lifting the hood and taking out a panel and simply replacing it for a reasonable price ! A New London Dodge Dealer told me the front end would have to come off to get to it which I have the recorded message that might have cost me thousands! As I figured that wasn't right... I called the guys at Stillys and sure enough I didn't get ripped off, as again, they are to be trusted !!! I'll be back ! read more

So I asked FB for a recommendation for "an honest mechanic" locally (Jewett City) and the responses came back with an overwhelming majority for Stilly's. I went to Stilly's and explained the sounds coming from the car. Immediately Scott, the owner, was like "let's go for a ride". In doing so he quickly diagnosed the problem- brakes. I brought it back a few days later as scheduled. Dropped it off and I got the call it was ready a few hours later and at a reasonable price. Screaching sounds from the car.... Gone! Stilly's proved to be a great recommendation and I will definitely bring my car back there again if needed. Finding an honest mechanic can be a major ordeal. Ever since my first experience, the service remains consistent. I like they shared what needed to be fixed now and what can wait. I appreciate that they talk to me in layman's terms insuring that I understand what services need to be done. I went to a competing mechanic local in the area and after a year of going, there were some problems with my car that he chose not to point out to me. It became a problem. Only been here for Emissions testing so I can't speak to their other services. I do know this. I haven't run into anyone working here who isn't friendly. They are very efficient when it comes to testing and even if there are a few people waiting, it won't be long. No complaints even when my 4' 11" wife forgets to lower and reverse the driver's seat making it nearly impossible to get in. We'll keep coming back. read more

Called on a detainee if they had any opening for an oil change the next day. The person on the phone said they're usually booked but will check because there may always be a last minute cancellation. He says, you're lucky there's a cancellation for 9 am tomorrow. He struggled with the computer system and finally got me entered into the system and scheduled. Multiple times he commented on the luck of the cancellation for the next day and I even told him thanks so much I'll see you tomorrow at 9. He also said 930 one or the times, and I double checked, is it 930, you said 9 tomorrow? Oh he's, 9. See you tomorrow. Get there the next day at 9, can't find me in the system then tell me my spot is for NEXT SATURDAY at 9. Waste of a morning I took off work and poor customer service read more

Scott Still, and the team at Stilly's are my Heroes of the Month! From NH, I was returning from a holiday camping trip to CT and was heading north on the interstate, in my Ford Pickup, towing a 30' travel trailer, when black smoke billowed out from between the truck and the trailer. I pulled over as quickly as possible and quickly determined that the transmission cooling line was severed and beyond my ability to repair. I placed a call to my Roadside Service provider (Good Sam) to arrange for a tow for BOTH the truck and the camper. Stilly's was the service selected and I was notified that they were on the way. I was also provided with their phone number. I reached out directly to our driver, James, to ensure he knew that we had both a truck and camper trailer. James was on another call so we had to wait a while but he did arrive at the time he estimated. He quickly got the pickup loaded onto the flatbed and then realized that the towing ball on his truck was not the right size for towing the 6500 lb trailer. James said that we would have to leave the camper but that once we made it to their lot, he would find a vehicle that could tow the camper and that we would return quickly. We drove the 10 minutes to his facility and dropped the truck. James had to get "creative" in order to get the trailer but true to his word, we returned quickly to the trailer on the Interstate and got it back to their parking lot. It was after business hours but we got to meet Scott Still the owner who pledged to get our repairs started as soon as they opened in the morning. Scott offered us a loaner vehicle for the night but we opted to simply sleep in our camper, in his parking lot, for the night. The next morning, they assessed the damage on the truck, ordered the parts and had us on the road again just after lunch time. There was even a customer in their waiting room who volunteered to let us get our vehicle started in the repair process before the technicians started on her scheduled service! The entire staff at Stilly's was helpful, professional, very friendly, and kept us informed of the progress throughout the morning. Todd the service writer is also a "camper" owner and was sensitive to our levels of stress. He was incredibly transparent on the repair process and costs and even had other camping destination recommendations for us. I regret that I do not live near Stilly's so I am probably unable to use them as my main vehicle service center in the future. I do however encourage anybody who is in their service area to consider giving them a shot at your vehicle service needs. From James, to Todd, Scott and all who we met at Stilly's, I can't think of anything that could have been done to improve or better our service experience. They all did what ever was needed to get us towed, repaired and back on the road as quickly as possible! read more

This is a very trustworthy and honorable automotive mechanic. I would recommend EVERYONE bring their vehicles here. I drive long distances and I never worry about my Rav 4 because the gentleman here take sure great care of it. I at NO time worry about being financially taken advantage of because they are incredibly honest, straightforward upfront regarding the cost.
