Trustworthy!!! I had a screw in my tire and I needed it patched. I had taken my car to Goodyear Leander first, because they said they patch for free. They told me that there was a slow leak and it was unrepairable, and lied about seeing bubbles because they never even took the screw out. They quoted me $230 for a new tire. They tried to scam me. So I took it to Firestone for a second opinion. They took the screw out and discovered that the screw didn't puncture my tire and I didn't have a leak! I walked out the door with my same tire and not spending a dime! They even filled my tires up with air for me, since they were just low due to cold weather. I was SO grateful for their honesty and being thorough. I will highly recommend them to everyone I see and truly grateful that they are an honest and reputable company that I can trust! Do NOT trust this place! I've used Firestones all over the country for a long time. Some honest, some not so much. This one fits the latter category. I've had some pretty expensive services and "repairs" here since they opened. Who the heck are these people singing their praises of honesty and not taking advantage of women? Are they friends with the franchise owner? Because that's the only way I can see anyone with their eyes open saying such things. They may have been honest when they first opened, you know, to gain clientele, then pulled that swindler's switcheroo. Anyway, I recently had a small problem, so I mentioned it when I took my vehicle in for another routine service. I was quoted a myriad of problems that HAD to be fixed for my safety and the longevity of my vehicle. Something didn't seem right, so my father loaned me his car to get to work, took my vehicle to a mechanic he trusts, and had him give it thorough diagnostics. My father's mechanic said that some of the hoses were so loose, he wasn't sure how they hadn't fallen off. Tightened the clamps and all is well. No $1500+ BS repairs needed. End of story. I'm mad enough that I could go on, but details aren't needed, and frankly I'd rather focus on the positivity of the whole situation, which is: I found a new mechanic (who is NOT anyone at this Firestone by the way, or any Firestone for that matter, since this one ruined it for me for good), and the fact that, instead of upwards of a thousand dollars, I spent $40.00 elsewhere and feel confident, safe, and a heck of a lot less poor than I would have been had I trusted these people. read more

Whenever it was time to get my oil changed, I used to always go to Valvoline. There was one right near my office and without an appointment I could still be in and out within under half an hour. Normally it was more like 10-15 minutes. They would send out a lot of great coupons and I never paid more than $35. Since there are no Valvoline stores near me in Leander, I chose to go to Firestone. I already had an account with them from previous maintenance I had done earlier in the year. I thought the quote they gave me was very reasonable compared to what other places would have wanted, and the work they did was solid and didn't take long. This however was my first time coming here strictly for an oil change. I had made an appointment for 5, but didn't get there until 5:15 because I had to stop and get gas on the way which I didn't plan on. When I came in I apologized and the guy behind the counter was very nice and told me not to worry about it. He quoted me a 45 minute wait which surprised me.There was only one other lady in the waiting room so I figured it would be quicker, that it was probably just something they are required to say. It ended up taking 50 minutes total. I realize that unlike Valvoline, they are not designated to being a quick service oil change place so my husband told me that sort of wait is typical. It seemed a bit excessive to me, but then again I don't know how many guys were on staff and what they had to do to other cars back there. Needless to say, I just wasn't used to it taking that long. It cost me $40 without a coupon which I expected. I would absolutely continue to take my car here when it needs maintenance but I think for just an oil change I still prefer the quick service places. read more

Joe, the service manager, is the absolute best. I drive all the way from Manor to use this Firestone location Bc the techs and managers actually care about their customers. I have 6 cars ranging from '65 - '15 and no matter how trivial my complaint, this location always takes the time to listen to my concerns and address all of my problems as though I'm their ONLY customer. They've fixed things from brake concerns to fuses and electrical problems without being fussy as other shops have been in the past. Eric Myrdahl (good god, it took some searching to get his proper last name) is the tech that deals with all of my unreasonable (not really) requests and always does so with a smile on his face. As such, I've never felt as though this location has tried to take advantage of me or my vintage car needs. I trust these guys wholly, which is rare (if you've read my other reviews). And a side, but not trivial note: their bathrooms are the cleanest I've EVER seen. Bucee's would have a run for their money with this store. Thank y'all for never treating me like a girl who doesn't know her vehicles and for always showing me respect and dignity when working on my mechanical babies. read more

These people are awesome I had an emergency tire situation for my daughter who Couldn't get service in a small window of time Because she has an infant and a toddler. Sammy took her in right away and went out of his way to Diagnose the tire issue and all his staff were on point even got the toddler some sweet tarts. Not quality, honest work. I visited this Firestone location earlier this year to have my brakes fixed, as they were squeaking. I paid around $300 for the work they said needed to be done, which was a rear brake replacement and a front rotor resurfacing. They said the front brake pads were still at 6mm and were good to go. Upon leaving the store, my brakes were still squeaking. Finally, a couple weeks later, I brought my car in to a different location, who found my front brake pads were at 3mm and badly needed to be replaced, and the rotors did not appear to be resurfaced, either. I don't know if it was incompetence, or shady business practices, but they definitely did not do quality work in my experience. read more

I recently moved to Leander, and have used this particular Firestone twice as of today, since it's so close to my house. These guys have been wonderful both times - they are always extremely busy but never fail to be friendly and professional. For the actual service reviews: after moving, my mother came to town and I decided to send her back with my 02 CR-V. It desperately needed 4 new tires/alignment, so I took a look on the web for this store first, and found they were having a tire sale, checked prices and other services etc., and all seemed reasonable so I decided to take a chance. Knowing the prices online, when I went in all the mechanics were friendly, helpful, and professional, and quoted the same prices as on the web site - so, no jacking up of prices or dishonesty there. I've also owned quite a few cars in my short lifetime, and have taken upon myself learning a bit about car basics so I don't get taken advantage of by unscrupulous mechanics (I'm female, but that doesn't mean I don't have to or shouldn't learn about the mechanical equipment I purchase). They were pretty busy, so I ended up spending 4 hours waiting, but the job was done correctly and I managed to finish up a book, so win-win as far as I'm concerned. The price was pretty much what I expected (a little under what I thought for 4 tires + balance, alignment, etc.) and the CR-V is styin' with a new set of tires for my Mom. I just went in for a second time today - purchased a used 2003 Xterra and I was certain the front rotors were warped, suspected an issue with the rear drums, and the alignment was definitely off. I took it in, explained I suspected I had warped front rotors; they confirmed the warped front rotors, but they found the issue I suspected with the rear drums as well (which was also what I suspected but didn't mention up front, mostly because I forgot). Walking in, I fully expected to be told I needed new rotors, pads, blah blah, which I was prepared to pay for...but instead, they stated the rotors could be resurfaced, which significantly reduced the cost. So, for a great price, I now have a vehicle that doesn't pulsate when the brakes are hit and is properly aligned. I do plan on taking the Xterra back to them when service and/or repair is needed. I have been a Firestone customer since I started driving in 1991. I have been to multiple Firestone locations over the years. I began taking my vehicles here as soon as they opened. The staff is superb. Joe and Mike are my go-to guys. They are honest & professional. I can always count on them to shoot straight. The tech's are careful and respectful with my automobiles. On one of my visits, I accidentally forgot about an envelope of Girl Scout cookie money. There was over $50 in that envelope. When I got my car back and realized I had left that in there, I was horrified. You can imagine my relief when all of that money was accounted for. My suggestions: make an appointment for routine things like oil changes. This location is busy because they are good! You could be waiting all day if you don't have an appointment. (Especially on weekends) The lifetime alignment is worth the money! Do it! read more

This morning I took my fleet vehicle in to have a tire repaired. I walked outside at 6:30 am and found a screw in the tire. The tire was down to 5 lbs. psi. I filled the tire and drove the vehicle to Firestone on US 183 in Leander. I walked in, the Manager was not friendly at all and had zero customer service skills. I explained my situation and his response was, "Do you have an appointment?" Seriously.....I literally found the screw in the tire 30 minutes ago and you've been open for 10 minutes. I drove here to see if you could repair my tire. I don't know if that is the standard response for anyone that comes in or if you are hoping they say no and you tell them it will be several hours before you can assist them so they will leave. Before even engaging in any type of conversation about how he could or could not assist me....do you have an appointment! Horrible personality for a manager and horrible managerial skills. If you are female....BEWARE! Had an appointment for an alignment at 8 am. Husband purchased tires a few days ago. So talked with Joe. I waited for my vehicle and told Joe I would wait. So sitting in waiting area (right in front of Joe I might add) 10 am or so husband calls as I texted him about his so called appointment. Says my truck has been ready for awhile. I say so much for your appointment and that I am still sitting there waiting. He is not happy cuz I am extremely upset. Trying to contain myself when the mechanic hears and Joe and comes over to tell me he called me a while ago. So I simply say yes and I have been sitting here the entire time. So here is my issue - every man boy or anything that looked male received personal attention of them coming over to explain what they had done etc. Also when their vehicle was ready the guys came over to them. Me (I am female) Really - no one came over no one treated me like a person there for service with the same money as the men folk. Really!!!!!!!!!! You guys should get a good mirror in there to watch how you treat women in your establishment. Terrible company. read more

AVOID- JOE THE BALD ONE. He didn't provide his last name. I came in on Friday Sept 9th at 06:45 PM. 6 employees I could count standing around the garage none working on anything Joe the very rude little man that I spoke to has or presented ZERO customer service skills. The conversation started with "What do you want?" I was sent here by my car dealer who has a contract with this location. I needed a bald tire replaced that was cleared and be fully billed to a standing Bussiness account. Nothing special just throwing what ever tire they had available. He immediately said well we are not going to do it today we close in a half hour and I have 3 guys that were supposed to be gone an hour and a 1/2 ago. There were 7 guys I could see just standing in the garage withhold bay doors open and nobody working on any vehicle. They were literally standing there talking. So I said okay I can bring it back in tomorrow I just want to make sure that you have the tire and go ahead and have the approval so I can come in for it. He said no that isn't going to work for us I'm all booked up for every appointment tomorrow the only way I will even touch your tires if you leave it here overnight. This guy was so insanely rude and terrible at his job he pulled a business contract up and said "Jesus these people have 15 phone numbers listed and none of them are the one I need." Southwest I left it will have to come back another time and make sure I never waste another breath on Joe again. Nothing was resolved or even attempted to be resolved by this person so I left with a bitter bad taste in my mouth for the whole place. I'm very disappointed that I am forced to come back here because this is where the car dealership contract is. I do not recommend this location to anybody please pick another Firestone Discount Tire is right next door if you can go there go there Walmarts better than this place. In addition while Joe was being rude to me another customer walked in with a nail in his tire again 30 minutes before they close with not everybody outside doing nothing in the bay and the other customer service guy told him immediately well there's nothing we're going to be able to do for you today we're closing in 30 minutes you're going to have to find somewhere else. That was at the end of the conversation everything you said to the guy no hello no goodbye no sorry just rude across the board. read more

Went in to buy tires for my 55 Chevy. Firestone was not busy at all. I was the only customer. Took two wheels to leave with them. The salesman was very nice. Looked at my wheels and said he didn't think they had the tires. He said they would have to be ordered. Fine with me. We went inside and he checked with another person and said he did in fact have the tires but only in black wall. Said the whitewalls I wanted would have to be ordered. Again, I told him fine with me. The salesperson never gave me a price or ordered the tires, but took my phone number and said he would call and give me a price. I left with my tires. He never called. It seemed clear to me that he did not want to bother with actually selling me tires. Just wanted me to leave. Maybe he was a new employee, or untrained in the sales role? Honestly, how hard is it to sell a customer tires. At a tire store. A waste of my time. read more

When I changed my oil and rotated my tires at Precision Tune Auto Care on 183 in Leander a few weeks ago, they told me I needed a new axle seal on the transmission, and also told me "somebody" had stripped one of the studs on my tire so he couldn't get the lug nut back on. As a poor UT grad student, I decided to get a second opinion and today took it to Firestone in Leander. Glad I did. I explained my situation to Rick, the service manager who greeted me warmly when I walked in the door. He told me they'd do a complimentary diagnostic test on the car (and not just on the two problems I had mentioned) and we'd go from there. He said there would be no pressure to fix anything once the test was finished. He had the car brought in shortly after I arrived. In the end they found no problems with the transmission axle seals (shame on you Precision Tune Auto Care), and they were able to fix the stud and lug nut so that I didn't have to replace them. They also noticed my indicator lights were out on my front right blinker and replaced them. So I was obviously ecstatic when they told me all the great news (they saved me the $250 I was quoted at Precision Tune Auto Care!), but was still prepared to pay a bit of money for fixing the stud and replacing the indicator lights. Nope. They didn't charge me a dime and just told me to keep them in mind next time I needed help with my car. With service this good, I obviously will keep them in mind! read more

My battery died this morning. The friend who jumped it recommended I get an Interstate battery from Firestone. He warned that they cost a bit more but last a long time. I ran over to Firestone during my break and they offered to install the battery. Great! I'm not very mechanically inclined so I said yes. I wish I'd paid more attention to the price quoted. It was an additional $33 to install the battery and took 30 minutes because they checked everything on my car. I had everything checked on my car 2 weeks ago when I had my oil changed. All I wanted was a battery. If I realized it cost extra to install it, I would have gone to NTB. I feel like I was taken advantage of. read more

There should be no stars. Took.my.truck in for wheel bearings and they ended up needing to keep it all.day Wednesday and half the day Thursday. I pick.it up and I'm 5 min down the road and bam! Some rod falls off. I'm thinking it's one bolt they didn't connect. Had that rod fallen off, my tire would've blown off and I could've hurt others and myself. Luckily I was able to drive slowly back. They had my car for awhile, turns out there were a FEW loose bolts. Pure laziness and disregard for safety. I told them I'll never go back. Be careful when going here read more

I would award 0 stars if possible. I took my car in to have the power window regulator replaced. I called ahead an spoke to Scotty who told me the repair would be between $300 and $400. I left the car, the next day Scotty called and quoted $550, explining that the additional cost was due to a noisy motor. This was an additional $150 to $250 based on the range given in the original estimate. The part costs $59.95 retail from the dealership and has to be removed anyway to attach the regulator, so no added labor is required. I decided to decline having them do the work at which point Scotty informed me there would be a $129 check out fee. This was never mentioned. At this point I contacted Firestone corporate and explained the issue. I received a call from Trey Good, the area manager who basically defended the actions of the store, leaving me with the impression that this is how Firestone does business. I will pay the $129, pick up my car and put this down as a lesson learned because I was the one foolish enough to give this business another chance after they did basically the same thing 3 years ago. I'll leave it to you to form your own opinion but as for me, I'm done with them. read more

I've been going to the Leander Firestone shop for several years for oil changes, etc. They usually do a great job, but the last time, they fell down a few points. The oil change was good, but they are also supposed to check several different fluid levels as part of the Oil change service. All the fluid levels were checked as being OK on the sheet. But, when I opened my hood after the oil change, I noticed that the cap to the washer fluid reservoir was not fastened on the spout, but was laying next to the spout. Also, the power steering fluid was slightly below the minimum line. I took the car in and one of the counter guys (not one of the service guys) reluctantly came out to my car to inspect it. I showed him that the cap had not been on the washer reservoir and he did top it off (it was low). When he saw that the power steering fluid was low, he didn't offer to top it off. This wasn't the kind of customer service I would expect, especially after it was evident that someone didn't do their job correctly during the oil change service. read more

Worst experience I have ever had. We set up an appointment for 9:00am to have 4 tires changed on our work truck and informed them we needed an early apt time to insure we could get on the road to Mississippi for work ASAP. We were told, no problem they could get us taken care of in an hour maybe hour and a half. We drop the truck off and an hour later get a call from the workers saying, "they are mounting the tires now and will be finished momentarily." I followed my husband to the shop and we were sitting in my car as the call came in watching the work truck not being worked on as this call was made. We both sat in the car for another 20 minutes while no one touched the truck. My husband goes inside to see what the delay is and the worker and the front desk guy are talking. They talk for another 20 minutes and still, no one has worked on the truck. I am outside watching as no one has now touched the truck or tires for the past 40 minutes after the phone call came in saying they were finishing up and my husband is inside watching them chit chat. One of the workers makes an excuse and jokes to my husband that they are trying to hurry because the worker knows he needs to get on the road for work. I am still outside watching as NO ONE touches the truck or the tires for the truck for the next HOUR. It has now been 2 hours and finally, a workers starts to prep the tires.. it takes the worker another 30 minutes before he gets the tires on the truck and the truck off the lift and my husband is then forced to wait 15 extra minutes while the front desk worker helps everyone in the lobby before handing my husband his keys when we have been waiting almost 3 hours when we were assured MULTIPLE times it would only take an hour and a half. We were even called saying, "we are finishing up now" while my husband and I witnessed NO ONE working on the truck or the tires. I filled out a survey asking for management to reach out to me and no one has called or emailed me back. read more

Will not be taking another vehicle to Firestone. Took my Suburban to this location for a new radiator after a quote of $716.00. Of course they felt the need to call me and tell me everything, in addition to the radiator, that needed to be fixed or replaced. Estimate was roughly a little over $2000.00, I declined. I picked my car up when they were done replacing radiator only to have the low coolant light come on when I was halfway home. Popped the hood to find that one of the hose connectors had been broken and the hose was just shoved in place. Every ounce of coolant that I had paid for had leaked out. This was not an issue when I took the car In. My husband ended up fixing the problem. read more

Arrived for an oil change and a set of tires at 5 pm. Was turned away because according to the employee they have two oil changes ahead if mine. I was told I should come back tomorrow. When asked why the doors were still unlocked I was told by the employee he wishes he could lock the doors. Total rip off every time I come in they try to get out of honoring their warranty. Have bought two sets of tires in 2yrs. Don't buy Bridgestone tires either which they make. For a national chain auto shop, it's a good one! I love this place and the guys here are awesome. Only been a couple times the past 6 months but I was remembered and he even remembered what car I drive! I trust this particular shop with anything I have them do with my car. Unfortunately for serious services I just cannot afford firestones prices. 80$ just for the part plus over 200$ for labor to get engine valve covers? I got a good set at oriellys down the street for 23 bucks and I will do that myself. I understand its company pricing though. However if I were to get it done I would 100% trust these guys to take care of my car!! I would recommend this shop to anyone that asks. read more

These guys were so helpful! Went above and beyond. I brought in my Yukon to get charged with freon, I had my system replaced by a friend. Their mechanic found a leaky valve, over filled compressor oil, and missing o ring. Didn't charge me for these, honored the original price I was given for a system recharge and freon. Most places would have just kept adding these all up. Will definitely be back! read more

I had some work by firestone on dallas but was finding issues while down in Austin. Joe, Justin and Terry were very professional and they took care of the issue which was incomplete from up in Dallas. They really helped ease my concerns and fixed things as they should have been the first time and were very nice about it. I don't know what service shop owners think but job done right, priced reasonably with nice honest personnel and no unnecessary work done word WILL get around and business will flourish ... it is NOT easy for us 'consumers' to find service shops that are trustworthy in any part of the country ... I spoke to Randy (I think he was the service manager or something) and, after explaining my situation and that I was in a hurry, he actually took my wheel and balanced it himself even though he was extremely busy. My daughter went in to see why a tire is slowly leaking air. They wanted $30.88 just to look at it. When she declined , the service guy was rude and attempted to make my daughter feel bad. He failed.
