Avery kept me up dated of the progress and the Life Time Alignment would pay for the required alignment. I came to this location to get a tire plugged, they told me there was a 45min to an hour wait. I got there at 12:30pm and it is now 3:09pm and they are just now taking my truck back. They let two cars which came after me go before me (NO APPOINTMENT). One of the vehicles that went before me was towed in from the side of the freeway (BMW). When I brought this to their attention they said "let me check" and never came back with an answer. I will NEVER bring my vehicle back to this shop. read more

I came to Firestone on a Wednesday evening to get a quote for some tires. Anthony is the gentleman that helped me. He gave me the good/better/best options and informed me of a tire sale that was starting the following day. I appreciated that info as who wants to spend any more money on car maintenance than we have to? I scheduled my work for Saturday morning at 10. When I arrived to check in promptly at 10, the lobby was already full of people waiting for their vehicles maintenance. There is a tv and several chairs to sit out the wait. However, unlike many other car maintenance shops, the waiting area is not separate from the main lobby. That being said, those waiting can hear all your business, including your phone number when they verify that. I was leaving my vehicle and coming back once the work was complete. (I highly recommend this) I was only getting two new tires replaced and they do an alignment check while they're at it. I returned to the shop at 11:40 (I had not been called but figured they couldn't be too much longer) and they had JUST put my car on the lift. It was 1:00 before I was out of there. There were lots of others waiting on their vehicles for extended periods of time. At one point, we only saw one gentleman working in the shop, going from car to car. (May have been lunchtime for the others, given the time) Andrew is the gentleman that helped us check in and out the day of the work. When I suggested putting the new tires on the front and rotating the ones currently on the front to the back, he educated me on why I may want to have the new ones on the back. He did it in a way that was respectful and I appreciated that. He was friendly and pleasant. He didn't pressure me to do the alignment once I declined which, again, I appreciated. I paid $480 for two of their "better" tires, with installation. Overall, it was a decent experience. I would definitely recommend working on more staffing and/or coordinating the appointments better so that the appointments mean something. Waiting for three hours for two tires is a bit frustrating. read more

Firestone, does a great job, each time I do go their, no matter what service, that I need to have done on my vehicle. Their prices, are reasonable, compared to the other auto service centers. This particular Firestone repaired my brakes and within the allotted warranty period, when the brakes were failing, they refuse to do a repair, return my calls, or speak with me when I took an Uber to retrieve my vehicle from their station. So I went for the $10 inspection special and was very satisfied with the results. I believe he's a manager, Brandon, explained what needed to be done and costs involved. Yes, he tried to sell me tires but I'd expect that from a tire place. I actually bought ones in last fall from them with no regrets. I declined the work for now and picked up vehicle. He answered additional questions and I left. I WILL be going back to them either for repairs or tires because of this experience. I've been here twice, for an oil change and a bulb change. The mechanics and staff are friendly and communicative, and they do a great job of describing wait times accurately. I feel like this is a trustworthy place where they don't try to "upsell" services, which I greatly appreciate as a younger woman since that's not my typical experience at auto mechanics. Literally no point in having an appointment because they aren't going to start on time anyway. I sat in the building and watched my car not be touched for 20+ mins. I asked what was going on. Another 20+ mins go by. I've been here over an hour at this point. They tell me they don't have a filter for the oil change. I shouldn't have to ask what's going on. As a courtesy, they should be able to tell me, especially when my services should've been less than an hour. Update: I got my car back and headed back to work only to find out they didn't top off my windshield wiper fluids. This was included in the package I bought. I'm over it. read more

I went to Firestone because my check engine light came on and the dealership could not see me until that Monday I did not want to drive the weekend in panic. I went when they opened on Sunday morning. Deadrian greeted me and he saw the panic look on my face. He assured me that they would try to help and offered me coffee while I waited. He explained the options that were available for them to test what was wrong with my car. Once they did a code scan, they found out exactly what was wrong. James, the technician, completed the scan and did courtesy checks for me to tell me other issues that needed attention. Deadrian explained everything to me. I needed to go back to the dealership to have it fixed because there was an additional test, that needed to be done there. I felt more at ease after leaving Firestone and I was also thankful for the courtesy checks completed by James. When I took it to the dealership, it was exactly as Deadrian explained and I was able to get it fixed. I plan to get other services done here, since going to the dealership can be a pain. read more

I'm new to Birmingham. When I started losing pressure in my tire on Sunday afternoon I wasn't sure where to go. I'd stopped into to 2 other places prior and they couldn't help me. When I stopped in at Firestone, even though they were very busy, they were willing to fit me in. The gentleman at the front was very nice. He kept me updated the whole time and my tire was fix in no time. These days good customer service isn't as common as it used to be or should be, but the people and the service at Firestone was absolutely awesome! I never write reviews but I've never been mishandled and had such incompetent and rude service. I bought two new tires in Mobile, AL at the Firestone there. By the time I arrived to Birmingham I was experiencing low tire pressure so I naturally called the nearest Firestone to have to issue looked into. I immediately informed them that I wasn't from Birmingham and that I wanted to go home today so I needed my car backend asked if that was possible as so this was around 10am and I was told "get it on in here and we will look at it" I get it towed there and went about my day but never got a call so I called NO ANSWER, so I had to go to the location at about 4, my car hadn't been looked at. I wait until 6 only to find out I have a cracked rim and they can't repair it. Remember I'm not from Birmingham and at this point anyone that could fix it is closed. So I'm then told I can get my rim take it to be repaired and then bring it back. So I get a hotel room make arrangements to get the rim taken to the repair place. I call and ask can I have it picked up, they said no I couldn't leave the car.....THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WAS TOLD YESTERDAY. Then to add insult to injury ADRIAN was extremely rude and threw us own coworker under the bus by saying "yea I'm sure she she said that, she sweet but her information is often inaccurate." So I had to get another tow from there to a place that could actually fix my car. It was the miscommunication, lack of empathy and rudeness for me....I won't disparage the entire Firestone but I wouldn't go to this one. read more

Went after a horrible experience with the Pep Boys across the street. Told them what had happened at Pep Boys (to jaw dropping facial responses) and advised I needed an oil change and they also mentioned that since I got my tires purchased through Firestone at one point that I was eligible for lifetime alignments/balance/rotations at no charge and asked did I need a tire rotation/balance/alignment while there too? So, sure, why not. They also advised up front what I would be charged as well. I will be honest and say they were not fast, but I did appreciate having a chance to go get lunch after a morning wasted at their competitor across the street and the staff there, including DeAdrian Tracey and another lady whose name I unfortunately did not get, were incredibly friendly and sweet. They checked everything over and I was advised my battery, engine, spark plugs, etc. looked fine but they did make a recommendation for another repair that was not urgent and gave me an estimate so I could have done in the near future. That was on par because another shop had mentioned at one point as well. Also, while they did have the t.v. on it was not blasted. My only negative is that they could invest in more seating. They are a very busy, popular location and it looks like signage and advertisements take away from additional places for people to sit. Do wish they had more outlets/locations to plug in a phone. But everyone was very friendly and helpful and I was very happy with how the repairs and how I was treated and how it was all handled. read more

I had an appointment for 12pm to have a nail taken out of my tire and the hole plugged. I waited for 3 hours before they even put my car up on the rack. This is something that is so simple, but it took over 3.5 hours. What is the point of having an appointment if they are not going to uphold it! They take people without appointments before those that have one. This is just very unprofessional service and will not be coming back here again. We showed up here 40 minutes until closing with NO cars in the bay and they refused to even look at our flat that only needed a small patch. Took our car across the parking lot to Pep Boys and they helped us out in less than 15 minutes even though they were extremely busy. I bought 4 new tires for my daughter on December 23rd as a Christmas Gift. In February two of her tires pop as if they were retreads or dry rotted. Firestone would not replace her tires. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I asked for a bulb replacement on my rear brake light and they broke the light and did not tell me. I later learned of this and went back for them to fix it and they claimed it was already broken and they could not fix it. They ripped the LED socket out of the wiring and the repair cost $175 out of pocket and Firestone did not reimburse for the initial bulb change, which was never changed and broken, or the out of pocket repair from their mistake. Shameful and disrespectful to customers. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Atrocious to treat customers this way. I ran over metal and my tire went flat. I called these guys at 6 which is an hr before they close and they told me to come right over! They were so nice and got my car in immediately. It took more than an hour to get oil change even with an appointment. I checked the check list they gave me after everything was supposed to be checked, they marked up everything is well. As soon as I left the shop service engine light came on and they even checked ok on my drivers side headlight which had been broken. Won't go there again for sure. read more

I called this place at Green springs to check if they carried my tire size. The guy answered confidently as if the store carried it. Drove in my spare tire all the way and found out that this store didn't carry the right one. I was so frustrated. When I asked the guy why he could not verify that while I was on the phone, he says "Oh I said we can look at the tire and go from there". Really you make someone drive miles in spare tire just to look at it?? He could have just confirmed that on the phone. He didn't even help to fill up my spare tire which had low pressure. Drove to different Auto Care and then got replaced. Their price quote on the phone doesn't match with the store price. The guy told me $95 on the phone and tire price at the store was $138. CONSUMER BEWARE!!! Do not take your tires for repair at the Greensprings location. The employees are very, very rude and unhelpful. The second we got a new set of tires the low pressure light came on. We brought it back to be inspected and of course they say there is a nail in the sidewall that can't be repaired. It was a weekend so we had to purchase a tire through them and they insured us they would keep our tire so we could get reimbursed from Tire Rack. When we went to pick up our car they claim our tire was picked up by a 3rd party company. But as it turns out the company only picks up on mondays. It was a compete lie!! They were beyond rude and cost us $200! Apparently, they are running a shady tire ring where they lie to customers and say their tire can't be repaired. Since we never were able to verify the nail I don't believe there ever was one. I would go as far to say I think they put a nail in it right before you leave. And in a spot that can be repaired so they can sell it. All while telling the customer a lie that it can't be repaired. They are clearly lying to customers to make them buy a tire and then sell it on the side for money. We had to get the police involved so hopefully this will STOP! I wouldn't even give them 1 star.
