I called first and was placed "on hold", meaning that the person who answered the phone just laid the phone on the counter while continuing to work. I held on for several minutes before disconnecting and dialing back. The service to my car was fine and the wait was about as expected. I was in search or a reputable auto repair shop to fix the air conditioner in my Ford Explorer. I called on a Saturday morning and they said to come right in. The front desk receptionist was friendly and remembered us from the call earlier. The car was fixed in 4hrs at a very reasonable price. When I went to pick the car up the owner personally checked the air in my tires and filled any that needed air. My experience was wonderful and if we need any other repairs on our cars we will definitely return. Thanks Precision! read more

Customer beware. I took my wife's car for an oil change, looked like a good price. Immediately found out after they took all my info that it was going to be almost double the advertised price. They charge more for a non standard filter and an up charge for more than 5.0 quarts of oil. My owner's manual states my engine takes 4.0 quarts of oil. Their system shows 5.1. They found a ton of other stuff wrong with the car, some legit some I think is trumped up. Why would I trust you to fix my car if you can't get an oil change right? read more

I called one Saturday morning my car would not start. They were very accommodating and even offered to pick me up if needed. They spent a long time with me explaining what was going on, and fixed my car without trying to get me to do all of the "add ons". I took my car in to Precision Tune Auto Care to find out was was drawing the juice from the battery, Aug, 10, 2021 and was told it was electrical problem. They had my car for three weeks, telling me they are still working on it and will keep me posted, in which they did not, I had to keep calling and it was very frustrating. After waiting a long period of time they final called me Sept. 3, 2021 to tell me it was ready, but when I arrived to pick it up, the dash was broken from the speedometer to the radio, heater and AC was not working any more. I took it back and they fixed the heater, but not the AC, when they both was working fine before I took it to them.. It is a disaster. After having it back for a few day, the problem wasn't fixed. so I took it back and now they tell me it's the battery, when I told them I felt it was the battery when I first brought it in. Come to find out that's all it was in the begging. They charged me $559.75 just to tear up my dash and break my AC for nothing, when all it needed was a new battery. They refuse to replace my dash, saying the car is old and to fragile. Last I heard, when you take your car in to the shop to be fixed and they brake something, they are suppose to replace it, in my case they did not. Until I can get my dash replaced, I have to dive it as is. I will never go back to this shop again. If there's any one out there who has had bad experiences with this shop Please write a response so that I may know who you are and maybe we can report them for charging customers for unnecessary work.. When they so call did the diagnostic tests scan on car's components and systems. they should have known it was the battery in the beginning. My dash would not be broken all up, AC & Heater would still be working properly. I ended up paying all together $700.60 after purchasing a new battery. Don't use this location ! I went in for an oil change , was charged a different price than the advertisement ( bait and switch ). I had to drive to Gadsden but half way there I started hearing a soft knocking sound which became loud & my engine light came on. Went in last Saturday to change my oil. Mechanic requested I flush my coolant, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. Went ahead a paid a whopping $270+, so that they could take care of my vehicle (check levels, tire pressure etc). As I'm typically in Birmingham on the weekends and have a place on Beacon Parkway, this would be the most convenient place for me. Monday morning I had to travel back to Atlanta for work, when on I-20 my engine overheated and my low tire pressure light came on. Naturally I stopped at the nearest gas station and noticed I had no coolant in my radiator. A little agitated I bought enough coolant to fill my car up, but couldn't fill up my tires due to having given a homeless guy my change. Later that day, I called the local store that helped me and told them what had happened and they were really nice. Thinking, this was a simple mistake, I carried on. Early Tuesday morning, my engine overheated again. As I pulled over I could notice that coolant was leaking from my car. So to sum it up, paid for a $270+ oil change, brake fluid flush, a now have a messed up radiator and low tire pressure. Feel like I was taken advantage of, and not very happy right now. Note: I've increased my rating since posting the above review. After showing up at another stop, we found out that the plug that drained my radiator wasn't put back on correctly. The other shop promptly fixed the issue, and didn't charge me anything. I'm glad they were able to solve the problem. Ladies go on Tuesdays for oil change specials. Oil changes and rotations are fairly priced. They'll check your vehicle for other problems and may over charge for them, like new brake pads, but go get a second opinion. On the other hand, it helps prepare for possible future repairs, because they'll let you know if something will be needed to be changed or fixed before the next oil change. They do have the best prices in the Birmingham metro that I have heard of. $21.99 for a regular oil change and even cheaper on Tuesdays for ladies. read more

They overcharged me for a brake job and from the reviews I've read , it seems I'm not the only person that has experienced this. I was charged $800.00 for a Brake job....Brake pads and rotors. I contacted the store directly and got the run around. Was told the manager would contact me. yet here it is a month later and still haven't heard from them. I also contacted corporate and they contacted me the next day to say they would forward my complaint and information to the regional manager since Precision Auto Tunes are independently owned but you guessed it. I would not ever take my car to this place. I wouldn't piss on a fire if it was burning their building down. When I called in to ask their hours of operation the guy answered the phone with '' Hello..." I thought I had the wrong number so I asked if I had the right place and all I got was "yea." So I asked what time they close and he told me 4, which the website clearly says 8-5 Monday-Saturday. This was the end of our conversation also the end of any chances of me or anyone that I can talk to ever giving that shop any business. Michael was a very diligent mechanic - he correctly diagnosed my problem as the harmonic balancer, and not the failed A/C compressor...another mechanic almost charged me $1400, and here I saved over $1000...b/c he did his job properly! I am so glad I got a second opinion here! read more
