Called to schedule an appointment for the state inspection two days ahead. I was told they will be done in 30 minutes and I arrived they said it will take an hour and a half to two hours. When asked why would they told me 30 minutes when I made an appointment, he said that they didn't know how many people would schedule. This is a second time, I will not go back to the business that doesn't what's going on with the scheduling. read more

Went in for an oil change and bought a lifetime alignment warranty. 1) They don't provide a physical bill, but claim it's electronic. Always ask for a printout. They are sneaky about their costs. 2) They fraudulently charge for shop supplies as a percentage of the labor amount. Nowhere is the customer informed of this during the transaction. The garage itemizes the warranty purchase for $196 in labor. The reason being, on labor costs on the bill, they add their so-called 10% shop supplies charge. 3) There is no sign indicating a shop supplies surcharge. I dropped my car off 6:55am, before Firestone opened and went to work. Normally, I would get a call and they let me know the problem, cost and I would let them know to fix it or not. Around 11:15, I called since know one had called. I asked about my car, what was wrong and the the price. I was told it was a small part on the brake that had to be replaced and it would be 90. The taillights would not turn off. I questioned the price and was told it would be 90. I said okay, that will be fine. I go pick up my car and was then told 307.00. I was never told this when I was called and asked the price. The guy acknowledged he told me 90 dollars, but he said it was just for the part! Then another guy jumps in talking about what do you expect us to diagnose it for free! I have been going to Firestone for many, many years. Never Again. I made a complaint with the company and was told an area manager would contact me within 2 days. It has been 10 days now. So at this point, I see what this company is about run not walk away from them!! This was a straight SCAM! read more

I took my state car here to have a battery replaced. I also asked them to do an oil change that was due. Ended up having the tires replaced also. Next day my tire light was on. Go back a few days later they tell me it's probably because of the weather. I say I thought that might be the case but I've driven it for awhile and it won't go off. And one of my tires looks deflated. Still insists that it's the weather. I ask then to at least check the pressure in the tires. They didn't want to take the time. I say fine I'll just drive over to discount tire and have them check the tire pressure. Then they decide to check the pressure. Which two of the tires needed air (why would you not ensure enough air was in the new tires??). Long story short the tire light still remained on. Took it back, leave it there, they can't fix it. They tried replacing every type of sensor and tell me I'll have to take it to the dealership. They would not give me the receipt for the repairs done. Say I don't need to worry about it. They sent the bill to the state. I insist on a receipt. I'm responsible for this car and I want to know what was done to it. They say they have computer problems and aren't able to give me a receipt that shows the actual work and cost. What a bunch of lies. Then three weeks later my windshield wiper fluid is empty. Open up the hood....none of my fluids had been topped off. Thanks for the oil change guess they don't top off the fluids like every place else. This place is shady, they could care less about providing good service and ensuring your car is safe to drive. And who ever heard of not getting a receipt. I repeat ...stay away from this place. The representative at the desk has been very unhelpful and did not give me an estimate time on when I should get my car back, even though I asked several times. Guess what ? Soon as i hit the road from the shop it shook so bad i wish i would have left it like it was before having them work on it oh and the new tires they put on the front tire edge was showing signs and the tires didn't even have 5k on them, NO i did not take it back to them , why ? so they can screw me over again nope . You guys are crooked and i now use another firestone and let me say top quality compared to N Duke st . People beware when letting someone work on your car . Just so you know the fat guy was doing alignments and the long hair dreaded black guy was his partner in crime there . Yes thats right its a crime to do what they are doing . Maybe some one should launch an investigation because short cuts on a vehicle can lead to dangerous outcomes . The manager (Tommy) called me after I left a negative review on the automated survey. He listened to my concerns and then offered to try to remedy the situation. He found ways to discount the repair to just below the quotes I had received thus far. However, I had lost trust in Firestone, so I took my car to another car repair place that repaired it honestly and for even less than the reduced quote at Firestone. I brought the car back to complete the inspection, and I still had to do light repairs before they would let me pass the inspection. I do not plan on ever returning to a Firestone. read more

I have started with Firestone Complete Auto Care since 2013 and have always used their services until now January 2023. I have decided to move on from here since my years of loyalty and trust has been lightly taken. My car was making strange noises and was recommended by AAA to have my Alternator looked at, I had Firestone do that. I was told my alternator did need replacing because it was cutting into my belt, did not have the belt replaced during this time due to a lack of funds, and the representative stating it could wait for replacement, but do it asap. Two weeks later, I had more noises within the startup, so I called the new Mobile service hoping they could replace the belt, they came out to inspect the complaint and the condition of the car. They recommended changing the belt and have the Alternator (the new one) inspected for any other problems in installation, being too small, or being a malfunctioning alternator. I was stunned! Next day took it to another mechanic shop, had the belt replaced and they mentioned the alternator as well with demonstration, I now decided to go to the mechanics of Firestone to allow them to make good on the purchase and replacement within my warranty, but I choose to go to another one, this one nonchalantly took in my vehicle, and has not kept me up to date on it, has not bothered to contact me concerning the vehicle, I had to call them. I then contacted the Firestone headquarters, received within an hour or so a call from them to address my complaint, and this person assured me that they would contact the stores involved with the alternator replacement and get details and speed up the process for me, as well as have them get back to me with the progress, but did not so far. This was almost 24 hours ago at this point of report. Firestone was a good place for me to go when I got my car, but now I do not recommend it for more than simple things like tires, oil changes, tune ups, tire rotations and such. No major work. Their headquarters doesn't show customers of my standing much attention or concern either. I leave feeling my value as a long-term customer is unappreciated and not of concern. read more

I would not go here again, but they're getting 2 stars instead of 1 because the manager, Zach, corrected the pricing problem. If you go here, check every price carefully. Their pricing system does not match Firestone's website and there are no posted prices available to you when you are in the store, so you're expected to take their word for it on any price they want to give you. Even if the tire name on the invoice does not match the tires they installed on your car, you're supposed to believe them. Take in printouts or show them on your smartphone what the correct prices are for the specific tires they're installing. They will try to convince you that you are wrong about what is listed online, gaslighting you and treating you like you're crazy, so the burden is on you to provide proof. I had to send screenshots of the correct prices to their corporate office in order to get the issue resolved. Manager complained to me that if they get bad surveys, they don't get paid as much. Well, if you're overcharging all your customers, and only a few customers catch it, then that should make up for the difference in pay! read more

I called in on 3/13 to see if they were able to fit me in for an oil change, they stated they were busy and could possibly fit this in by the end of the day, no promises, or I could schedule an appointment for 3/14, bring it in and have it taken care of with no wait. I scheduled my appointment for 3/14 at noon. When I show I state that I'm here for an oil change appointment that was scheduled on 3/13 for 3/14 at 12:00 noon, they took my name and had no appointment entered in the system. I was then told to come back before closing to pick my vehicle up, this is not why the appointment was scheduled. Someone dropped the ball here, unorganization at its finest. They have lost my business and our fleet vehicle business. I do not suggest using this location. read more

I have been a loyal customer to Firestone for at least 3 years now and It is time to move on! This is specifically to this location Pros: 1. They can do most work needed here for semi-reasonable prices compared to dealer 2. The manager is pretty nice and willing to work with you on some things and he is fair if you legitimately have a complaint 3. The work comes with a warranty - just read it carefully 4. They have good service coupons 5. Decent waiting area Cons: 1. They have new staff in and out of there all the time, hard to build trust 2. They do less than quality work. The brakes and tires I got from them all need to be replaced and still in the warranty period 3. They do these 14 point checks which they said my tires were good but my tires are actually feathering and making a lot of noise. I feel they did that to keep from bringing attention to them but I have had them rotated there as a part of the warranty requirement since I bought them and never did they mention my tires were wearing. 4. No wifi in waiting area Overall I just feel that the money I pay should guarantee that I get quality work. And I feel like I have to keep going to them to fix the errors because I have a warranty there on the work I have gotten done so far plus I like to keep all my work with one store. But if they do rushed work, don't accurately check for what my car needed and I always have to ask them to repair their work, it's pointless to keep doing business there, if thats the case I should be back there doing it myself. Had they told me about my tires the last two times I was there, I maybe could have done something to keep the, from wearing out, they are not even a year old. Im not ruling them out. For the past 3 years they have been as decent as I could find minus the dealer. If you decide to do business with them, be firm about what you need, if you pay a diagnostic fee, they dang well better diagnose you correctly and guarantee the work. Don't rush to get it fixed, yea, its time and energy to go from place to place but either get a second opinion or just go to the dealer, you'll pay for it for sure but you're more likely to get the right work and legit advice. Don't be all timid, do research before you go, write things down and ask what you're getting before they do the work. They definitely have their regulars who are more outspoken like that one mom whose child always gets attention and is clean at daycare because momma is gonna raise hell .... Be that mom. This has just been my experience -- once I take care of what I need done, I will be looking for an independent mechanic to take care of everything I need on my car who will be more interpersonal and honest with me. Do not go here!! They will try to rip you off! My husband stopped to have them plug a tire (of our new car).. they took two tires off the car and then told my husband that we need to buy 2 tires!! They said they couldn't plug the tire because we had used fix-a-flat and it deteriorates the inside! WHAT!! How is that possible? How could we use that product and not get a blow out IF THAT WAS TRUE!!! Lies lies lies!! My husband told them to put the tires back on and he would go some where else! THEN they had the audacity to tell him that he owed 75.00!! WOW! They did nothing to fix the tires! My husband refused to pay for no work done!! Their pricing is questionable at best and downright dishonest at its worst!! I just moved to town and needed some basic work done on my car. They repaired the car, but after a day it stopped working and I had to take it back so they could "fix" it again. The prices seemed a bit steep and after calling around I found that Firestone was charging 2-3x as much for parts and labor for the same work as local mechanics and the dealership. After calling them out on it, they suddenly found that they could offer a much better price. The people here will try to swindle you and cut corners if you aren't careful. read more

I went to Firestone on 10/22 to get a radiator pump replaced. I waited for (4) hours only to find the Jaguar dealership did not have the part and it had to be ordered. I left, took my keys and asked to be called when the car was ready. Mid afternoon I called and the Desk guy "claimed" he had called and left a voice message 1.5 hours ago. (THIS WAS A LIE, AS HE NEVER CALLED), I arrived at the location, only to be ignored by Desk guy. After a 45 minute wait, I went to the counter and ONLY THEN does he bother to provide an update. Wow. Caught the front desk guy Brandon lying to my face and making stuff up in order to upcharge me a bunch of unnecessary diagnostics. I previously brought my car here for an AC recharge. The first time, they claimed to find a leak, repair it, and recharge the freon. Worked fine for two months, then gradually my AC stopped blowing cold. They again claimed to find and repair a leak in the AC system, and do a recharge. Two months later same thing happened. I went back, and this time they refused to make it right, and wanted to charge me a $99 diagnostic fee. Brandon said that they found no leaks. I went and asked the AC technician directly, and he stated he hadn't even checked if there were leaks or not. After catching the lie between Brandon and the AC technician, the technician ran off avoiding me. Was pretty obvious over the phone, when Brandon reiterated the phrase "as far as that goes" 10 times in 1 minute, that he was making stuff up to make money off of me. Also it was only a few bucks, but when getting an oil change previously, they charged me a "donation to the Boy and Girls Club" without my authorization and knowledge. Very shady. This Firestone is incompetent at BEST! I took my car there in December for 1 new tire. I waited 4 hours and the tire was on. The next morning I wake up, the tire is completely flat. I pumped it up because I did not have time to worry about it. The next morning it was completely flat again. I take the car back to these guys and he tells me that maybe my rim was warped. So after checking out the tire, he says the leak was coming from the stem because he did not replace the stem when he put the new tire on. I was a little irritated but not quite as irritated as I was when he came and told me that when he was replacing the stem he broke my tire pressure monitor and "Im gonna order another one from Mercedes and put it in free of charge when it arrives". I was completely done with these guys. Sooo weeks later, I go back and they replace the TPM after a few hours and I leave. 3 weeks later, which would have been yesterday, my dash is flashing, "Tire pressure Monitor Inoperable" I almost loose my mind. And not to mention, the tire is now clanking when I drive because they left something inside the tire. I take my car back there today and drop it off at 11am and I just called and they said it will be ready by 5. People in the community, please understand that I have wasted about 22 hours up at Firestone ON DUKE STREET and ALL I WANTED WAS 1 FRIGGIN TIRE! Took my car to this shop before Thanksgiving in 2018.  I needed to have a tire fixed because I ran over a screw.  I got the tires originally at another location.  They didn't have a matching tire in stock so they had to order one and I set up an appointment for the next day. When I showed up with warranty paperwork in hand, my car was taken and I had a seat.  Three and a half hours later my car was finally done exactly at closing time.  During this wait, multiple walk-ins were taken care of, friends of the mechanics got their cars looked at, they rescinded an offer to price match tires for another customer after they were on his car, and an employee posed for pictures with my car.  This same employee flat out ignored me on several occasions when I asked about my car.  He did have time to change outfits during operating hours so he was ready to go to the club when he got off.  When I filled out their email review form and put everything that happened in it (yes there is even more), I got a text from Tommy who claimed to be the manager who wanted to talk to me more that Friday about what happened.  He apologized in the text.  Did I ever hear back from him? Nope not a single word.  To this day I warn anyone even thinking about getting tires about my experience and hope they don't go to this business.  I will drive an hour out of my way before I visit this disrespectful business again.  The thing I regret most is I had to give them a single star to warn others of their business practices. read more

I made an "appointment" a day earlier for 3pm to have my tires rotated. This is a complimentary service that came with my $900.00 tire purchase. I drove from Granville County, dropped my truck off at approx. 1pm for the 3pm tire rotation, (that was scheduled). I told the salesman at the counter that I would return at 4pm to pick my truck up. So, they physically had my truck for 3 hours, just for a simple rotation. I returned, and 4:15 and my truck had not been moved from where I parked it. I walk in, and the Service Mgr. tells me that they have not got to my truck yet... His excuse was that they were a man short, and were "stretched out all day." He also told me they would not be able to get to it, period. I can only assume they didn't get to my rotation, because it was a free non chargeable service. Appointments should be put before any walk in, whether you are preforming a free service or not! This is totally unacceptable service, and a terrible way to treat your customers. Especially since I had an "appointment", and I drove 35 minutes to get there. If you need to take your vehicle to a Durham Firestone dealer, I would highly recommend any of the other locations, AVOID N. DUKE ST., at all cost. HORRIBLE! read more

PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW!! There aren't words available that can tell you how awesome these guys are! I had been driving for 13 hours from Mississippi headed to Virginia when my truck broke down. I am a 26 year old female and I was alone. I got my car towed to this location and even though these guys were slammed, after telling them that I was alone and 13 hours from home with no other means of transportation they said they would work me into their jam packed schedule. As they promised, they did work me in. Unfortunately my truck could not be fixed. I was completely distraught and the guy who works the front was completely understanding. He reassured me that everything would be okay. He provided me with the phone number to an enterprise that was nearby and also told me that there was an airport within 30 minutes and Ubers that could take me. I ended up catching a flight home. They offered to keep the truck there until I could return to get it. To add icing on the cake, they didn't charge me a dime. 24 hours later, my dad and I returned to pick up the truck. It wouldn't crank and we had to get a dead truck loaded onto a trailer. The men saw us struggling to get the truck loaded and allowed us to use two of their jacks so we could back the trailer up enough to drop the truck onto it. Thrilled that we got the truck loaded, we offered to pay them multiple times but each time they flat out refused to take a payment and were very apologetic that they were unable to fix the truck. Words cannot express how awesome this group of fellas are. The customer service is outstanding and their hearts are made of gold. I'm sure we caused them a lot of frustration but not once did they let it show. From the bottom of our hearts, my parents, my husband, and my daughter appreciate each one of you so very much. I will always spread the word about how amazing this location is. Everyone please, I beg of you, give this branch your business and you WILL NOT be sorry! God bless you guys!!!! read more
