Hiden charges. The work appears to be fine, but they will lie to you about the price. Specifically asked about extra charges, price after taxes, all that. But when it was time to pay there were yet more fees, which they insisted were standard and for which they refused to provide an itemized receipt. If you get a quote, expect to be charged 10-15% more even if everything goes smoothly. Fine on tires, dishonest in their billing. read more

On 7/21 2019 I went to this firestone to get a set of tires and a wheel alignment. Mind you this shop is 50 miles from my home I drove there because they were the only store in my area with the set of tires that I wanted for the price that I can afford. After 4 hours they brought my car out and I could not even drive it. The manager Dennis tried to tell me that because of the miles on my vehicle That it had to have something wrong with it before I brought it. So I had to have my car towed home. I put in a claim. 2 months Later They denied my claim after numerous calls I was even threaten by Dennis to the point where I had to file a police report. Telling me that hes going to deny my claim. He didn't do the proper inspection and now I'm out of thousands of dollars. Over a set of tires and a wheel alignment that I still have to pay for mind you I am a black man in Boulder, probly should have never went there in the 1st place 2 months behind in payments and bills because I tried to save money by going to a so call professional company. Damage my vehicle, bent Axel, broken bolt the they use for wheel alignments an my differachel is destroyed. Got the same excuse from the claims adjuster and Dennis is my car has a lot of miles on it. unbelievable, I will never visit Firestone again and I do not recommend it for anyone of color. I also made video of Dennis telling me he didn't follow company policy. If something was wrong with my vehicle they should have never touched it. AVOID THIS STORE! These folks are either inept, or dishonest. My daughter has a 2008 Acura RDX. She had a new alternator installed at the Firestone store in Fort Collins, about a month ago. The car started (Occaisionally) flashing warning signals for the Charging system last week. She took the car to Firestone Boulder on 30th street. She told them the symptoms/warnings that the car was demonstrating. The instruction writeup said: "Check charging system". Later that day, the Firestone folks called and told us the car needed $1400 of work on the AC system. They said that the AC was locked up, and that was preventing the charging system from working properly. The said the car was unsafe to drive. We declined the work. We picked up the car later that day. When I asked the clerk. (Tall red-headed guy) if they had checked the charging system, he stated: "Oh no, you can't check the charging system when the AC compressor is locked up. The belt won't turn." My wife drove the car home with no drama. She did not use the AC. When I got home, I checked the charging voltage at the battery with the motor running and the drive belt rotating. The voltage at the battery was 14 Volts. Just what you would expect. The drive belt was turning freely. (Just what you would expect.) The AC system was working fine, and blowing cold air. It is pretty clear that these folks are either inept, or dishonest. AVOID THIS STORE! read more

We had our front brake pads replaced at a ripoff Staten Island, NY, Firestone, just before we started our driving trip west. On the drive we noticed that the car was vibrating when my husband used the brakes. That happens when the rotors are not machined during the brake pad replacement. When we got to Boulder, we brought our car here, as the warranty is for a year, and is nationwide. At first, Boulder Firestone could not find our warranty information in the national database, because Staten Island Firestone DIDN'T PUT IT IN! We had to call Staten Island to get them to put it into the national database. Paul at Staten Island FIrestone also agreed that they didn't do the work we paid them to do, which was machining the rotors, an integral part of replacing brake pads. Although the young man at the front desk here was very friendly, he assured us that they are experts on brakes, they did not honor the warranty and machine the rotors, but they charged us for bleeding and replacing the brake fluid, which may or may not need to have been done. Subsequently, two independent mechanics in the Boulder area confirmed, by sight, that the rotors were not machined, and needed to be. And although Reid offered to refund the charge for the brake fluid replacement, we are disappointed in Firestone, and will probably never go to another one anywhere in the country. read more

After having my vehicles serviced with Firestone for the past 5 years, I will never ever be coming back to this location, and probably any other location again. They have tried to upsell me on products I don't need before, but this one takes the cake, they should be ashamed. Came in for an Oil Change and asked them to even up the air pressure in my tires at the end too. Before my Jeep was done I get a call from an advisor, to whom I will not name but he knows who he is, saying that there was a nail in my back left tire and causing a slow leak. I asked if they could repair it and he said no they could not and proceeded to suggest I get new tires despite the car being under 30,000 miles. I asked if they could put on my full sized spare from the trunk and he said it could mess up my transmission as it was 4WD and had full treading and it was against company policy to do that, I don't know the policy so I'm not going to argue that point. When I came in to pick up my vehicle to take it home and put the spare on, he suggested I put the $600+ in tires on my Firestone card, which I explained I cannot afford as times are tough for me right now. So my only option in all this was to either pay hundreds of unnecessary dollars in new tires or go home and put the spare on myself as he made it clear they could not repair the nail in my tire. Well, I found another option. I drove right down the Street to Discount Tires to see if they could repair the nail, and after looking at the nail for 5 seconds the rep at Discount Tires said they could "absolutely fix it, no problem". I was kind of shocked and asked him to tell me why he thought that after such a quick inspection and he said because it's almost an inch away from the sidewall it wouldn't be an issue, if it was closer than .5" to the sidewall then it could. They took 20 minutes to fix the issue and patch my tire, FREE OF CHARGE. So these assholes at Firestone tried to tell me that this was an unrepairable issue, which it wasn't, and told me my only option was new tires totaling hundreds of dollars. Well assholes at Firestone, I found a new option, I won't ever give you my business again, I will be giving my business to people who proved they aren't just trying to milk me for my money at Discount Tires. The owner at this store needs to seriously look at who he employs at this shop because there hasn't been a single time I've gone in and not been suggested hundreds of dollars in services that were not needed. Do not EVER come to this Firestone, they cannot be trusted with your vehicle in an honest and reputable way. Go to Discount Tires instead, give them your business read more

Brought my car here for a quick oil change. Picked up my car and it wouldn't start- wouldn't even turn over. They tried to tell me that since my car is 4 years old (it's a 2013 model) my battery was bad, and that they had one in stock ready to put in for $120. I hadn't had one issue starting my car until I brought it to the shop. The idiots didn't realize that I bought it two years ago brand new. Anyway, I had them jump it while we stood in the pouring rain, and the car hasn't had one problem starting ever since. They clearly tampered with it. Don't get scammed. read more

Apparently it took me 4 years to forget the bad experience I had had the first time around. Lured in by the convenience of getting an oil changed AND getting my tires switched in the same visit, their work on my car resulted in a horrible shake in my steering wheel (I had also gotten an alignment, tire balanced, brake lines flushed, etc) nearly $300 later I'm wasting time again to have it fixed. 4 years ago it required that I take my car into the dealership and repay for my vehicle to be balanced (staff admitted that they don't have the right equipment to properly measure when balancing). This time I've taken it to the Firestone in Broomfield by the mall. Let's see if they can fix it. read more

I went in here tonight around 5:30pm because I had to figure out what was causing my car to give me a low tire pressure warning. I drive a very long was back from Boulder for my job, so I know my car has to be in good shape or I'm not going to get far at all. I parked in their lot and walked inside to the front desk. Nobody was there. None, zip, nada. I thought I heard some papers shuffling, perhaps in a back office? When I said "Hello, is anybody here?" there was no answer. So I stepped outside near the service bays and saw two technicians chatting it up outside. I stood there, hoping they would notice me. I got a little miffed, I will admit, and I'm a very passive, non-assertive person. I finally yelled out "Can I get some help?!" Chad jumped to attention and jogged to the service desk to ask what he could do for me today. He took notes on my car issue and pulled my account up quickly. He gave it to the service tech (whose name I don't know) and they got my car up on the lift to see what was up. Chad seemed to be a very active guy, moving around, chatting with me, and scribbling on scratch paper. Note to corporate: Chad does not need to be stuck at the front desk, he obviously needs to be working on the cars or doing Jimmy John's deliveries between customers (you're welcome). The service tech was pretty helpful. He came in and explained the pressure on the front drivers side tire wasn't that low, he didn't think that was the issue. I explained I attempted to fill the tire at a gas station and it didn't seem to do anything. He educated me on the fact that gas station air machines are notorious for being broken - people drive off and don't tell the gas station, so it doesn't get fixed. He said he'd go back out and take another whack at it. He found the two front tires were low and one needed to be pushed back on the beads (or something like that?). He fixed an issue with the underside of the car that, while purely cosmetic, was driving me insane because it was a little dangling plastic piece and we had no idea why it was hanging low. He demonstrated that it snapped together with another part under it. Interesting stuff! Price was also fair, I only paid $20 and they inspected everything there was to see on my car. Very happy. The service tech was super thorough and very pleasant. However, the front desk experience was lacking. An hour and a half before closing is not the time to be messing around and not attending to the front desk. If it was ten minutes from closing, I would let it go, but not at 5:30pm when there are people other than me showing up for help. 5/5 for service tech. 2/5 for "customer service" This does not even compare to Firestone in Thornton, which is leaps and bounds over this particular location. read more

I rolled up here on my donut with a flat tire on my trunk. Reid grabbed it, checked it to make sure it would be okay to patch instead of replace, and had me pull around. Blatantly tried to rip me off. I dropped off my can for just an oil change. An hour later, I get a call from them wanting to discuss their 'findings'. Just as I expected, they found all sorts of things wrong with my car and wanted to fix them. Among the things wrong included a new rack and pinion. Apparently mine had a HUGE leak but they could fix this and the other things wrong for me today for just $1,261.51! I knew that this was all likely a complete lie. I told them not to do anything further- I only wanted an oil change! So I go to pick the car up but I have to wait for a 60ish old woman to hear what is wrong with her car first. I over heard what they were telling her about her car and all I can think is BS! I should have said something to her but I didn't. They ended up charging her over $2000.00! But I digress, so I picked up my car and took it to another mechanic who looks at my car for free and tells me that there is nothing wrong with my car at all. I showed him the list of repairs that Firestone said my car needed and this mechanic told me, "Well out of all of these, yeah, I guess you could replace the air filter if you want. But it looks pretty clean". Basically, avoid this place at all costs- they WILL try and scam you. read more

This is another bad visit over the last 3 years. This one being the worst. I have been waiting for 4 hours (even with an appt) to get my tires rotated. I always get a long list of things to fix, but when I take my car to my trusted mechanic, they say my car is fine, which it has been. Staff has not been pleasent to deal with. Scam artists! They actually unscrewed my gas cap to trigger my check engine light after replacing my front brakes. The next day they told me that it would cost 80$ to have the code read, and that it was 'probably a bad oxygen sensor'. I've owned my car for 3 years and have NEVER had this happen before. Auto Zone informed me that it was the gas cap, and when I checked I found that clearly it had been unscrewed such that it was barely hanging on. After screwing it on correctly the problem was solved. Also, I was told that this only happens right after you fill up, makes sense. However, I was half-way through a tank of gas when the light came on, but I was only 10 miles down the road from picking it up at Firestone... You do the math. They are liars! They are thieves! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR THERE FOR ANYTHING!!! read more

I came in with a flat at 5:45pm and they replaced my tire quickly. They also found a nail in another one of my tires and patched that up as well even though they were technically closed. The customer service was great and were very accommodating despite me putting them out of their way after they were closed. I would definitely come back! read more

We took my wife's Highlander for a routine oil change and to swap out the snow tires for regular tires. When we picked it up we discovered that they had put the studded snow tires in the back of the car without adequate protection and scratched/ruined the entire interior back panel and left grease stains on the light grey upholstered headliner. When my wife pointed to the damage the manager, Reed, actually said, "Well I have an older car so these things don't bother me but I guess they do if you have a newer car!" WTF? They agreed to repair the damage, but when we picked the car up the second time we discovered a shoddy replacement of the back panel and some brilliant person had scrubbed the grease stains on the ceiling with a wire brush, which frayed the fabric to troll doll hair-like appearance. Now we are returning the car for a third time to have the entire headliner replaced, praying that it comes back looking like the new car it was. To their credit, they have acknowledged liability but it just seems this is a business that is less than mediocre. What's wrong with people? Where is the pride in business and a job well done? Never going back to this Firestone location again! read more

Our family has been buying snow tires here for 11 years because we love the blizzak's performance. Unfortunately over that time we've come to understand that the sales people and technicians have not been honest and will try to up spell. We've stopped having any service done and asked that they stop doing the courtesy checks as well. Here are some examples; told on more than one occasion that our tires were to dangerous to drive because of the worn tread but our car dealership said we we fine for another 7 to 10k (we were). Told that our 2 year old Lexus had a bad cv joint. The Lexus dealer laughed and said it was perfect and we've never had an issues with it sense. Told that our break pads were dangerously low and needed to be replaced immediately. Again, the dealership said we still had at least a couple months to drive safely (we were.) Told that we we out of alignment when we were just aligned at our dealership the week before. At this point when we're told something is wrong with our cars we smile, say no thanks and continue the running joke about it with our family (there's 6 of us and we've all had similar experiences.) I was at Firestone for an oil change, as I've had good experiences there in the past with Cynthia. However, this time was quite different. I was told that my car would be ready by 2:30. At 2:30, I was told to come look at my car, as they had "bad news". Reid showed me what were stripped threads on my oil pan. He told me that it would be $600 to replace the oil pan, as it could not be repaired. He told me that he could not give me my car back because it would now not hold oil. He then told me that it would actually be $700 to repair my car. He told me that Jiffy Lube would pay for the repair since that was where I had had my last oil change, and so they were responsible for the stripped threads on the oil pan. Jiffy Lube would not pay for the repair, but the manager of the Lafayette Jiffy Lube was willing to come over and repair my car with a toggle plug so that I could drive it, if Firestone would allow him to use their bay, which they would not, due to their liability. Reid brought out a pitcher of oil, a jack and an incorrect oil filter for Mike from Jiffy Lube to use. I told Mike that this was a less than ideal situation, and I would have my car towed to a mechanic for a 2nd opinion. I had my car towed, and the threads were in fact stripped on the oil pan, possibly by Firestone, possibly by Jiffy Lube. However, my vehicle is a rare edition, and is from Canada, and it turns out the oil pan for my vehicle is discontinued. So, I don't know how Reid was able to give me a quote on this part. I have had the oil pan re-threaded, it is not leaking a drip of oil, and this was done for less than $100. I will not return to the Boulder Firestone, and certainly don't recommend it to anyone else. read more

In late December 2016 three lights on the dashboard of my RAV4 came on, and I immediately drove it to Firestone, where a preliminary diagnostic test was done. I was told that a more in depth diagnostic was needed at a cost of around $100. I was going out of town shortly after and asked if I could wait to do it when I came back. I also asked if it was OK to drive in the meantime. They assured me that the only problem was that it would fail an emissions test and said it was OK to drive. In early January 2017, I called and scheduled an appointment for the diagnostic. Sometime between making the appointment and the appointment date the lights went off, so I called and was advised to cancel the appointment and call if it happened again. Weeks later the lights came back on so an appointment was made for March 3rd. On that day it was found that there was a hole in the fuel tank canister, and they were unable to continue the diagnostic until it was replaced. An appointment was made for March 10th to replace the canister, and again I asked if it was OK to drive the car. I received the same response that yes, if was fine but wouldn't pass the emissions test. The canister was replaced on March 10th, and the dashboard lights went off. On Sunday, March 12th the lights came back on, and the following day I brought the car back in. A preliminary diagnostic was done and showed 21 things were off, and I was told sometimes it takes a few cycles of driving for the problem to show up. An appointment was made for March 14th to do a further diagnostic. An employee of Firestone drove me home, and a short time later I received a call from Reid who told me that the hole in the canister caused moisture to get into the system which caused a part to fail. The invoice states, "EVAP CANISTER AND LEAK DETECTION PUMP CONTAMINATED FROM BROKEN FILTER." I relied on the expert advice of the professionals at Firestone who told me at least two times that the care was fine to drive. Had they stated that they didn't know until it was checked out further, I would not have driven the car until the problem was resolved. I am therefore out $1066.33 for the part. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and they called me a week later saying that they could not get the bolt out of the oil pan and I would have to replace the oil pan and gasket not taking any responsibility or trying to work around it. we literally argued for days about it and the assistant manager told me he was the manager and there was no way around it. finally compromised on a 50/50 deal. new oil pan installed with a leak around the seal and muffler issues. took it back two months later for repair and was helped well enough to get a new gasket. terrible customer service. find anywhere but here. read more

Ordered a set of tires from tire rack who listed them as a recommended installer. Called to make and appointment for the installation and was greeted by a very un welcoming lady on the phone who seemed put out that i was calling. Was told they were two weeks out on tire installations. I mean, if i bought the tires form them would they be two weeks out? Me thinks not. Called one of the other Tire rack installers in town who got me in the next day. Tire rack should take them off their list. read more

I've been taking my Honda Civic here for a variety of issues over the years. Everything from exhaust system repair to oil changes. I also bought a set of tires a few years back. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and I've spoken with a couple mechanics that are incredibly knowledgable. I asked them to do a thorough inspection of my older vehicle, and they gave me a list of future work, as well as prioritizing the order. This really helped me budget and plan my maintenance. read more

Frustrating visit for 2 tires recently. They had what I needed. THey rotated my tires when I did not ask for it and did not note it on the invoice. I took my car here for an oil change and tire rotation and they did that and informed me that I needed a new filter, battery and coolant. So, I took care of the coolant and also attempted to get the air filter in myself. Unfortunately, the cover for the filter was a little tricky and I decided to call them and ask if they can put the cover back and also allow them to proceed with the battery installation. To my surprise, they were not willing to put the cover back and said "we can take care of your battery for you." And there was a remark about parts for the cover and that they would not even have screws in the shop! This is exactly the type of attitude that causes loss of customers. If I just wanted them to put the cover back, I would totally understand that they would not want to do it, but to do that along with a battery replacement would just make a customer like me say good things and go back for more business. Sadly, I will never return to this place again! And to top it off, I found the battery cover just laying on the inside of my hood when I opened it! Crazy! read more

I have been coming here for years to have my car serviced, and never had a problem. The last time I came here for an oil change on my nearly new ram promaster van, and a tire rotation. a couple hundred miles down the road my van seemed to be handling poorly, when I checked my lugnuts they were all loose. 2000 miles before my next scheduled oil change the oil light came on. I took it to the Walmart a mile up the road and they told me the oil was black and dieseling, had not been changed in over 10,000 miles. this will damage the engine in the long run the service technician told me. why would the employees at firestone do this to my van ? I contacted firestone over this and they told me ishould change my oil every 2000 miles. I contacted the dealership and they told me with a good synthetic oil the van can go for 10,000 miles between oil changes. 80% of the driving I do in this vehicle is at 65 miles per hour on the highway its 99% certain they did not change the oil. I understand the store is under new management and there have been a no of incidents like this occurring here I will never come to firestone again. Had some significant work that had to be done on my passenger side front tire. I wasn't sure the extent of the damage, but Arturo and his crew were very communicative with me by providing informative updates and their professional opinions on how to move forward with repairs. Ultimately they found significant damage to my control arm, strut, and bearing. Arturo suggested I file a claim with my insurance due to the mounting costs of the work. I reluctantly filed the claim, but I'm happy I did because there was additional damage to the wheel that could not be repaired and had to be replaced. Consequently, that would have resulted in a costly repair, but the insurance claim relieved a good part of the financial burden. Dennis was also instrumental in assisting me through this process while working in tandem with Arturo. I was thoroughly impressed and happy with their work and customer service. read more

I've been going to firestone for years. My grandfather worked for firestone for 30 years so I've always trusted them. I moved to Colorado about 2 years ago and took my car to grease monkey who tried to get me to replace a bunch of things unnecessarily (I'm car savvy. Just went In for an oil change) so I found a firestone in boulder and have only taken my car here ever since. They always work with me to make sure I get my car back as fast as possible. Reid and chad have always been super helpful and explain exactly what they've found. The other day my car died on the diagonal and they had a technician walk over with me with a new battery so we could get it to the shop! I didn't have the time to do the repairs myself so I left it with them. They are super helpful and look over everything while they're under the hood just so they can give me a heads up about anything and always get the job done I highly recommend these guys!! This place is a joke. I read the reviews and figured it couldn't be that bad because I've been to other Firestone locations which were great. I needed to get snow tires put on my car and they didn't have the size in stock. They asked me over the phone what size I needed but I wasn't sure so I told them I thought they were 17". They ordered the tires but it turns out I needed 18" instead. The manager had a fit on the phone and said that he paid $45 to get the tires shipped to the store. Keep in mind that the total bill for all four tires was over $700. And it's not like the tires he ordered weren't sellable to someone else. So, they order the right size, I go to get them installed, and there, hiding on the bill, are two delivery charges for $45. Two of them? I don't think I should have been charged for even one of them. I called my hometown Firestone (who I trust) to see if they would ever charge a customer for delivery because they didn't have tires in stock and they said absolutely not. Never. Avoid this place like the plague. read more
