Showed up on a Sunday morning with a flat tire (not repairable). They showed me what they had in stock, I picked one out, and we were in and out in under an hour. The price was perfectly fair. We got a tire for our accord for about $50. The installation was something like 13$. A plus was that they didn't tack on 5$ without telling me for 'nitrogen' inflated tires. I've been trying to keep an old '01 Pathfinder alive and Firestone Boston has helped me multiple times in the last six months. Every time I have dropped off the car they text or call me with detailed information about what the car needs and their quote for it. I have even left car in their parking lot overnight after the hydraulic braking system went out in the car and they made sure to call the towing company so that it wouldn't get towed. I have always managed to get the best deals on service with them and everyone in the store has been helpful, especially Jessie the tire manager, Kyle the store manager, and Andre. read more

Avoid coming here at all costs. They constantly tell me my car needs more work than it does just to get more money out of the car/me since they think I don't know any better. I call in to make an appointment and they promise my car will be done within an hour and a half. Fine. Hour and a half passes and no word from them while I am sitting and waiting. I ask again. Then they say okay 30 more minutes. This happened 4 more times as I sat and waited for 4 hours because they constantly "ordered the wrong parts". Once my car was done I asked if they did they one thing I asked them to- Nope they didn't. Another 30 minutes. Worst customer service ever. Never coming here again. I came in today due to a bad Firestone experience at a separate location and was due to get a refund. The store manager Jamal was extremely rude and passive despite the fact my issue had nothing to do with his store. He was rude to me, told me I didn't deserve the refund and if were up to him, he wouldn't have honored any refund. Then when it came time to refund me, he tried to refund me the incorrect amount. He only refunded me the right amount when I calculated the refund in front of his face on my phones calculator. To make matters worse, when I got into my car, black dirt and oil from the wheel was smeared on the door of my interior. When I went inside and told Jamal, he came out and told me it was like then when I drove in. Once I told him I had cameras in the car (for uber) he stopped talking and simply walked inside and I was forced to clean the interior my self. I checked the camera and sure enough I was right. Complete embarrassment for Firestone. Both stores I dealt with were terrible. Please don't be like me and instead listen to the reviews that clearly says this place sucks and go to any other auto mechanic shop. read more

Had a horrible customer service experience at town fair tire in Watertown, MA. Went to firestone down the street which referred me to their Comm. Ave location because they had the tires in stock. The manager of the Watertown location not sure if it is Steve or something similar but he was extremely helpful. The Comm. Ave manager Andre was great! Do NOT go here. I have taken my jeep here twice to get my oil changed because it's convenient to my location and both times it's ended up much worse afterwards! The first time after I took the jeep there, they tried to up-sell me on a bunch of things which I immediately shot down. Then, driving my jeep no more than 200 miles later, my front drive shaft breaks and I'm thinking, OK this is probably just a coincidence, don't give them too much of a hard time. This time I took my jeep there to get the oil changed, and they told me the back brakes needed to be replaced and quoted me a ridiculous amount. I took a look at the brakes and agreed that they needed to be replaced, but got a $150 cheaper quote from Monro next door. They were angry, but matched the price. Now, I start to drive the jeep around and "coincidentally" the oil pressure sensor now comes on every time I brake. So I took it in and they wanted to run a $99 initial diagnostic test before they even decided where to go from there. I argued with them for awhile about why should I have to pay for this when my oil pressure sensor was fine before I took it there. Their response was "well this happens to cars sometimes". I left and told them I'm never coming back here again. Worst. Experience. Ever. read more

Took my car in because I got a flat tire from the Massachusetts potholes. They sold me a new tire and told me the tire wasn't holding air because the rim was too bent. Before buying a new rim from them, I asked to take a look at the tire to see how bad air was leaking. When I got in the garage they filled my tire with air and there was no noticeable leaks even after a soap bubble test. I feel as if they lied to my face about the tire leaking air to sell a rim. Will never be going there again, and will remain with town fair tire where I've never had any problems. The only reason I even went here was because they were the only place open on Sunday and now I see why. When you don't have competition, you can do what you want and scam customers. Don't come here for service unless you want to get rip off. I went there because I got a flat tire. They told me I needed a new tire because my tire was not repairable. I needed my car to go somewhere so I told them to put a new one. They listed a bunch of repairs and told me I needed them (a sign of dishonest shop). They told me I needed brakes, wipers, alignments and more, which I need none of them because I did those repairs not too long ago. I even doubted my tire was not repairable, but I was in a hurry so I rather be safe than sorry. Terrible service. Do not service your car here. Had to come back multiple times for the same issues. Put on the wrong items. Asked for a certain brand and put on the wrong one. Put on a poorly made after market mirror and didn't order a cap. Now the Mirror cap doesn't fit. Didn't do an alignment. Told us the work would take one hour and came back 2 hours later and they asked if we wanted more done and when we said no they started the service then which still look another hour. read more

I just got my brakes done by a professional this weekend. He told me the last person to do my brakes NEVER changed my rear brakes, which I knew! I brought my car back 3 times to the firestone after my initial brake change. They looked me in the face and said they were changed. This was 2 years ago and I still remember it. Then the sale starts and they want $600 for service. 8:30 - They take forever because no one has touched my car in 45 minutes of watching them walk around chit chatting, cleaning the bathroom floor, etc. 9 - Manager walks around place with a baller limp like he's the man. 10 - I've been here 3 hours for an oil change and they want $500 (after helping me out with discounts)... Because of crazy potholes we have in Mass - I blown up my tire. Called my father and he started searching for an auto repair shop near me as I was trying to maneuver around since I was in the middle of Storrow Drive. A mechanic named David who works at Firestone heard that my father told him it was an emergency and he responded by saying that they are open and that I can leave the car over so they can see what they'll be able to do. After I arrived to Firestone my tire was completely damaged as you can see in the image. I parked right in front of the place and walked in to see where David was. He rushed towards me and without even listening to what I had to say started telling me it wouldn't be possible to fix anything today. I told him I would just like to leave my car there and that I don't need it to be fixed by the end of the day. As you can see driving the car was a safety issue, however David rejected the request and made me drive the car in this condition. Not only is this unprofessional, but it is also unethical to lure a customer who is in need and then reject them when their safety is at hand. I would not recommend this place to anyone because you are supporting unprofessional and unethical folks, who are making money off of people in need. read more

I definitely agree with most of the other posts. This place is a scam. I took my car in because the windshield fluid sprayers weren't working. After a few hours they said they fixed it. I went out to get my car and it was still broken. The guy who works there said, well it was working for him. I said how was it not working for me this morning, not working for me now, but working for you in between at some point. He brought his mechanic back out who confirmed that yes it was not working. I asked why I got charged for it when it clearly wasn't fixed and he said, oh the other mechanic must've lied to me and said it was fixed but it really wasn't. I can't say enough good things about this place. The first time I visited this location I had gotten a nail in my tire on a Saturday night and was in a panic about finding somewhere I could be serviced on a Sunday. Firestone was open and were so helpful in getting me in and taken care of on a pretty busy day. After such a wonderful experience I returned a few months later to get my breaks done. After getting quoted at over 800 dollars from another garage Firestone informed me that I needed front rotors and pads and only pads for the rear. This totaled me 555 hundreds saving me a TON of money. I'm a forever customer for this company and the location on Beacon Street. Thanks guys! read more

Aight, here's the rundown. I've been here many many times to get my oil changed, and have always gotten solid service. However, the reason as to why I'm giving this particular experience a 1 star, is because I had something stolen from within my vehicle from whomever was working on my vehicle. On my driver side door, in the lower compartment, there are two things I have: a glasses cloth and my neoprene mask for warmth for when I'm shoveling. Those two things has stayed within that compartment for the last year, until I hopped in my car a couple of days later and noticed it went missing. I gave a call, spoke to a supervisor, and his response was very nonchalant, almost sounding like it happens on the regular, in that people call in to report missing items all the time after having their car worked on. I do however appreciate him following up and giving me a call to let me know that nothing has been found, but obviously the guy who worked on my car is never going to say "yeah, I took something from his car." I hate giving reviews like this, but regardless of the value of the item, I turn over my car and the contents within it, entrusting that I get my car and my items back, unscathed and untouched. However, my trust for this location is gone and will take my business and trust elsewhere. TL;DR: Hide yo kids, hide yo wives. read more

The front line guy was nice and seemed knowledgeable (and talked me into a $64 oil change). I made an early morning appointment, because he promised to get me through in 45 min.. Tell you what, it's not easy to wake up at 7am on a Sat. for a $64 oil change, well... I had big plans after that as well. Until I hit Firestone that is. I got there on time, most of the bays were empty. Why and how did they manage to drag a simple oil change for 1hr.45min., instead of the promised 45 is beyond me. They also claim to check air in tires and top off all fluids. I specifically asked them to check one front tire which seemed low. I've read a lot of the reviews and I have to say that my experience was not at all the same. I needed to get my battery replace because it died one morning in January. They serviced my car incredibly fast. I got there and didn't wait at all to be seen. When it came to choosing a battery, they gave me several options and brands at different price points and I didn't feel pressured to buy any particular one. Besides the price of the battery, the labor costs were really inexpensive. I think they charged $15, which was way cheaper than most places in the Allston area. I even got a mail-in rebate for the battery! I haven't had any problems since and would go back to Firestone for other services! read more

I am sure there are firestone service centers that r nice and professional, but this one on Com Ave is horrible. i have been here twice for a break pad replacement, and tire change. both experiences are bad, i wanna smack myself for going back the 2nd time. i went in for fixing my flat tire, which cannot be done since it is pierced from the side. totally understandable. a new tire cost abt 200 bucks roughly. here comes the bad part, i went in at 2pm, walk-in, no one was ahead of me. i figure it would take them 1 hr, so i went to the gym. 1.5 hr later i came back. the front guy gave me a check list and estimated price, before i even look at the bill, he said "i could give u a discount if u want to do that", then i look down, crap!! the price is 1,600 bucks!!! my piece of crap car only cost me 4K. after i told them i dont wanna do any of the "recommanded" change, the guy told me i still have to wait 45 mins!!! i was walking around outside and after 30 mins of waiting, i saw my car was on the lift, but no one was taking care of it, there 6 workers and only two cars in shop, and i over heard them talking abt sports, ang music while i was waiting and my car was chilling up there. horrible serivce, major ripe-off. dont come here. read more

Ordered tires online at Tirerack.com and had them shipped here. They put the tires on just fine. They also suggested an alignment (seemed reasonable), but then went for the kill: the "dreaded" serpentine belt had cracks. As it turns out, almost all serpentine belts have cracks. Just Google "when does a serpentine belt need to be replaced" and click on pretty much any of those links. My belt was fine... it had the cracks, but not of nearly enough severity to warrant replacing. In my opinion, they presumed (for the most part, correctly) that I knew nothing about cars and tried to push a repair I didn't need on me. I certainly don't appreciate that. They also charged me more than the Tirerack.com price that they agree to provide to TireRack customers. It was only about $10 more, so not a big deal, but they just didn't seem to have their system together. The tires seemed to go on fine. It took them several hours, which I was expecting. They were also quite nice about everything, even when I asked them to adjust the price to the TireRack price (I had expected some hemming and hawing, but they just did it). Overall, I was generally pleased with the service they performed, the timing, and the price, but I wouldn't take their advice on recommended repairs as they clearly were looking for every last thing that could possibly be repaired. On my car, with only about 40,000 miles, the serpentine belt was the best they could come up with. It wasn't out-and-out fraud or deceitful, but it also wasn't a well informed and reasoned suggestion. In short, I don't think they are on the consumers side. read more

My car kept messaging me about low tire pressure, and while scanning the tires, i did notice visible damage on at least one of them (left rear one). After filling all tires with air a couple times, and still not solving the problem I came to Firestone on Comm. ave. The people there seemed friendly, and I got an appointment 2 days later, which I was OK with. After leaving my car there for half a day, I come back to learn that they found damage in one, and replaced it. A right front tire. I said:'Really? I was sure something was wrong with the left rear one..." 'Nope," they said they only found it necessary to replace just the one front tire. Well, I thought to myself, they certainly know more about tires than i do, so I won't argue and insist on them taking another look. The guy at the desk, seeing my doubt, told me that I should come back if anything else is wrong with the tires (no, duh!) Well, sure enough 10 days later my car gives me another message about low tire pressure. Once again, I try filling them up with air, first, and then I come back to the Firestone. This time a manager comes out, manually checks all the tires in 5 mins. and announces that both rear tires are damaged. I said, I was just here 10 days ago, telling your people to check at least one rear tire, and I was told that they were fine. The manager was like,"Well you must have damaged them since then, in those 10 days." Yeah, right. i was pissed beyond belief!!!! That is the most unprofessional thing a tire place could do -- to miss (either by accident or on purpose) badly (and one, visibly damaged) tire. Never will I go to this place again, even though they are the closest to where i live. Disgusted with their poor poor service! read more

Stay away from here, clueless doesn't begin to describe how they handle things at this shop. Had stalling issues, they did the diagnostic test and told me I needed new plugs, they replaced the plugs and told me the other problems had to be fixed by the dealership, take it to the dealer and they tell me they installed the wrong plugs, go back to Firestone to get reimbursed since I had the dealer fix it correctly and they refuse to refund me, telling me I should have had them fix it, riiiiiiiight after doin it wrong once I'm sure you'll do it right this time. They tell me that they'll add complete coverage on all my tires to make me happy. Of course I get a flat and do they acknowledge their additional coverage on my tires???? In response to Vic G.'s review, I had a similar problem with them. Took my car in for some new tires. I take care of my own vehicle, so I know it like the back of my hand, and I used to work in a garage for several years during high school / college. I get a call from the service manager about broken studs. He says they normally charge $99 but he will do it for $50. Strange, because the studs were in perfect shape the last time I worked on the car. Also, I can buy the studs at autozone or any other parts store for about $2 each and with a few washers and a socket wrench, install them myself in about 10 minutes. What a ripoff! They love the broken stud scam so much, just beware of it. read more

Avoid - unacceptable customer service. I made an APPOINTMENT and came in for a minor tire repair that should take 30 min. IT TOOK 1 HR 40 MIN because - A) They let it sit for 1 hr before touching it (I know since I waited). B) When complete, it took me noticing that the car was back in the lot and the going over to ask them if the work was done - as opposed to approaching me. Since I made an appointment - and was very flexible - they could have just told me when to bring in the car in the 1st place. I also noted while waiting that they had at least one visibly angry customer related to this type of issue and quoted long times to anyone who came in. When I suggested that they tell me when to come in, they told me it would take 90 min in any event (and that is for something that requires at most 30 min worth of effort). They don't give a damn about their customers, and I therefore give them one star. read more

When I took my car here with a spare tire on, the tire pressure light was on, due to the abnormal pressure of the tire(TPS system working). After the place I had an original appt with did not have (and could not get for 2 weeks) the tire I needed, I called the folks at Firestone and they helped me track down who had one in stock, which was the Comm Ave location. I ended up there pretty close to closing time after getting stuck in traffic coming from my original appt, but they still took my car even though it ended up being after hours. I was very appreciative of Andre and the team for helping me out (I'm sure the the last thing they wanted to do on a Friday was stay late) and I'm very grateful. read more

I have been to this FS a few times. My initial oil change didn't go as well due to broken seal at the canister for my mini. They made it right. Second time around made an appointment online and showed up to get the oil change done. It was done timely manner despite there were 4 other cars in their bays. People who get taken for a ride need to learn about cars a bit more to protect themselves. Google is your best friend and chances are the problem you have isn't anything new and many people can give you some heads up in online forums. Know before you go in. You can always go elsewhere and always ask them to show you what the problematic part is and ask the old part back to ensure they indeed replaced what they said that they would. Then you can toss it in the trash yourself or hold onto it until problem is resolved. read more

Positive experience - I got a quote for a brake and rotor repair from the dealer and knew that the dealer's prices are always the highest. So called Firestone and got a quote for 30% less! Made an appointment on the spot, got a call a little later than expected but not a big deal for me, and was done. Courteous service and would especially recommend if you are looking for specific work to be done and need an alternative to the dealer. read more

Place runs hot and cold. I've been here about 5 times. Last time was a cold one, they tried to upsell me on a few things I know I don't need. For example, we got a new car - has just under 3k miles on it. Brought it in to change winter tires out for our regular tires. They said I needed an alignment. What? It's a brand new car, it's not pulling, and even if it did I would take it to the dealership and make them do it. I called them on it and expressed my surprise and confusion. They were casual and just repeated that it could use an alignment and that I should buy the lifetime alignment service! Which I know to be complete BS because I bought that with my earlier car and every time I brought it in for an alignment they said I didn't need one and printed me out a diagram showing why. I'm old and wise now so don't get upset about this sort of thing since the wool they try to pull over my eyes is transparent for me. I then said I wanted an oil change and they said OK. I told them I had a coupon and that triggered a response that my car required full synthetic, which means a $70 oil change (I kid you not, $70 for an oil change). That made me giggle.
