I agreed to the price and waited 4 weeks for the part to come in and the repair to be completed. They then charged me $1500. for that repair, handed me the paperwork after they had swiped my cc through the machine. I immediately told them I was over charged, I had been quoted $1000. for the intake manifold repair. The tech Brian told me I would have to discuss with Mark, who wasn't there. I've left letters in the drop box and left vm messages, no one returns my calls. (They did work on another vehicle of mine 2 years ago, almost $4K worth of work on Chevy Colorado.) No longer giving them any more business. Update after speaking with Mark the owner, 5/8/2024. Mark called a few days after I picked up the vehicle. Claims the "repair was a nightmare". All kinds of rust on the intake manifold bolts, 6 of the 8 bolts were rusted out and broke when he tried to remove them. He said the job should have taken him 3 hours but instead it took him 9 hours.(Really???) I told him as a customer who was given an estimate of $1000. for a repair only to be charged 50% more, I was not happy, he should have had a better idea of the condition of the vehicle and the cost to repair (Initially, I had left the vehicle at the shop, he looked the vehicle over and also diagnosed the check engine code issue and that it needed an intake manifold.) I told him given the estimate of $1000., then overcharge of $500., he had lost a customer.

It didn't help the situation that the blades came with three adapters for the wiper arm!!! Drove in this morning, a nice guy held the door open for me when I went into the office to say that I needed help and felt pretty stupid. Another very nice guy followed me outside, popped the new blades on in a few seconds and didn't make me feel stupid at all. I did end up waiting about two hours. There's no Wi-Fi here, so I was just on my phone while waiting. Overall experience was as expected. Compare price because I personally don't really know the different prices of tires, but I always get my tires at Goodyear and they did not try to upsell me on other things.

The reason I trust that to be the truth is that he invited me into the garage to see the damage for myself - it was completely rusted. Throughout the progress of the work Mike and the mechanic, Leroy, were respectful and communicative the whole time. They told me what they were doing and how long it would probably take. They were able to get the necessary parts and complete the job the same day. I will be going back whenever I need more services on my car.

I work on my 1999 Lexus myself & have family who is a mechanic. This is ridiculous. The alignment mechanic who I believe is the owner pointed out the book time to the clerk so it wasn't an employee mistake. I had another mechanic fix it instead for $470, not over $1400 as VIP wanted. 6 hours is an entire rear end job! Do not trust them!

Almost all of them will talk down to me or assume I know nothing because I'm female and somehow the two are related. I've started bringing my boyfriend with me when I took my car in to get work done because mechanics and autobody guys would actually tell him, in detail, what's wrong with my car without even addressing me. Then I went to Woodings. Not only is Steve a fantastic, knowledgeable mechanic: he actually showed me what was wrong with my car and explained it in detail. He never talked down to me, he just made sure I understood exactly what was wrong. And, on top of all this, he called me a few days later to check in on my car situation. I don't know how many mechanics or, really, any business that would do that. Take your car here for service. Especially if you're a woman sick of dealing with the kind of mechanics that determine your automotive knowledge based on your gender.

I also appreciate how they review my cars "past history" before giving me advice. I always feel they are very experienced, thorough and use only high quality car parts. He punched my car and then started yelling at me. when i asked him why he hit my car, his response was "I can do whatever i want to your car, i can destroy it if i wanted to. This is my property!" All of this because because i drove through their EMPTY gas station. These people treated me awful and my little brother was scared the entire way to school. what an awful way to start a little kids morning. Side note: took a picture of my license plate and said "you'll see what i'll do with this" I would never go to these very rude and quite honestly, nasty people.

They told me they can do it, but to be safe, I went to a different (my usual) Car Repair shop to get a quote for second opinion diagnosis and repair. Then I went back to Pearl Street Auto and they repaired it for almost half the cost! So far it is working great. Thanks TJ for the excellent service and saving me hundreds of dollars!
