Round 1: September of 2022. Bought a car, bought a warranty plan. After a few days the check engine light pops on. I took the car to the Firestone at 6300 San Mateo NE, Albuquerque. Mechanic found the right solenoid was bad. Okay, not a terrible repair, simple remove and replace. Not a sign of any other issues either, good news all around. I asked the mechanic if he thought the car was in decent shape otherwise and was treated to a beautiful lecture on why Ford cars are bad. Well, I already know that all car brands are pretty equal until you get into the high end stuff. I ignored his personal grudge and had him fix it. The car starts spewing oil. I lost an entire quart a day because he screwed up so badly. I had to have someone bring me oil at my job just to keep the light off long enough to get home. I go to a different Firestone (9500 Montgomery, Albuquerque.) What a shame they're the only mechanic approved because wow, I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The guy at the front counter told me that there was no was a solenoid would cause an oil leak and treated me like I was just another stupid female. I go back that afternoon and lo! I WAS RIGHT! I had also left them with a list of other things to check. They didn't check any of them. They handed me the repair sheet and blew me off. My guess is, they were ashamed to have been shown up by a grandma. I had no other option locally for general repairs so all my questions about brakes, suspension, etc had no answer and the full coverage on my protection plan ended in December. Fast forward to now. The car is clearly having issues with suspension and I'm thinking the brakes are having the problems I thoyght they were. On top of it all, the transmission is clearly having trouble. Oh. And the recent heatwave took out my AC. I know what that problem is, too. Do I know the problems? Yes. I've been working on cars and keeping them running for decades. I made another appointment for today with the shop at 9500 Montgomery. In the online form, I stated the work I wanted done, and to have them call Silverrock in advance of the appointment. I get there and the guy at the counter acts like no one has seen the appointment request at all. He tells me they can't check the transmission, the guy who can check the AC in the car wont be in until Tuesday. He doesn't work on Sunday. They can handle an oil change, a tire rotation, and order the air filters for the AC system. (At a bloated price of $80 + labor) Then I find out, no one contacted Silverrock. So I got up early on a weekend and wasted my time for a shop that can't do a damn thing. So help me god, I will never use Firestone again. The mechanics are worthless, chauvinistic, and rude. The quality of service is what I'd expect from some backyard mechanic who doesn't want to be bothered. A high school shop class does better. I do, for the record, tell everyone how screwed up they are. Then I refer them to a surprisingly good shop. The Jiffy Lube at Montgomery and Pennsylvania. They helped me with the heavy work (radiator replacement) on my last car. That was a 97 VW Golf. They never overcharge, listen when I tell them there's a problem, and help me with diagnostics even when they know Im going to do the repair myself. I've given them work just because it'd be faster for them to do it than for me, and I know they'll do it right. Don't waste time on Firestone. They survive on the value of the brand name, though I can't imagine why they haven't lost all the purchasing power behind it. read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences with this particular firestone. Menaul and Louisiana. It's a bit further away from my house but they always get the job done right! The one on central have given me excuses after excuses as to why they couldn't get the job done saying "You need this, you need that, we can't complete the job unless you get this"... Ive gone twice to the firestone on central and twice to the firestone on menaul. The one on central gave me an excuse everytime as to why they couldn't do the job. The one on menaul gets it done with no fuss. Here's proof: The black/white picture is the one on central, which I cam in for an alignment. I was left with with an unaligned car. They also said I needed to upgrade a part so they can finish the job. The colored picture is the one on menaul. No parts have been "upgraded". Just a different day. Everything is on the green. While passing through Albuquerque on my way home to Dallas, my change oil light came on. That's odd. I changed it before I left town (ahem Pep Boys) and definitely had barely driven a little over 2,500 miles on this road trip. Shouldn't need an oil change. First of all, I'm a chick. I saw the flashing warning sign on my dash, but I was really driving by to get to the local McDonald's to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Car stuff can come later. No one needs a hangry ginger. But because I wanted to make it home the next day safely and not have my engine fall out or explode -- I've seen a Fast and Furious movie or two, so I totally know cars -- I swung in to Firestone on my way back to my motel. What drew me to them was the well-known name (Firestone) and the big sign that said "basic oil change $19.99." That was it. I walked in with no hope that they'd get to see me right away and was planning to make an appointment for the next morning. They told me they could get me in and out in about an hour and a half. Great! I have my laptop and plenty of work to do, I'll hang out. Not only did they change my oil, they also fixed my tires that were waaayyyyyy out of alignment. All in a little over an hour. They were super nice. I drive through Albuquerque 3-4 times per year. I forever have an automotive home to come back to now. If anyone from the company reads this, please contact me. LIARS SCAM! Took vehicle in for a check of the electrical system when my regular mechanic was closed. $120 later they came back and said my alternator is going bad and gave a quote for $550-something. I guess they saw an opportunity to make a quick buck off a female. I took it back to my regular mechanic and after the SAME round of testing produced no results. The problem ended up being something different all together. And now... ITS FIXED. They'd have had me replace a very expensive part just to sucker my money, who knows if they'd even replace the part. I don't do reviews often but this was terrible. We had an appointment at 1030 and they didn't even pull our car in until 1206. They then tried to up sale us all these things. We were supposed to have a free alignment check but declined it because at 120 we are still sitting here and have to pick up kids from school soon. So I went to get my oil changed and have them look a wobble at 70mph. They tried to get me to buy 4 brand new tires saying that there isn't a match to my exact tire "in the entire city" ($850 for set of new tires). I then said "thats not going to happen" and asked how long and what's it going to cost me to order a new tire that's the match. He says let me check.... he then comes back on the line. "My supplier is gonna stay open late" we can get you that tire on and installed for $208 and it will be ready in about an hour. Seriously? WTF happen to no tire in the "entire city"? "Stay open late"? It's 11:30am! The only reason I didn't want to buy 4 tires is I'm thinking of getting a slight lift and adding off-road tires later. Guess I won't be coming here. Honestly the worst car service I have ever experienced. I went in to have my manual clutch replaced bc my jeep wouldn't shift gears. I pulled in here bc it was the only place open on Sunday while I was driving through. The staff said they should be finished by the end of the day and then they weren't. They said it would be done by 10 the next morning and it wasn't, and still isn't at 2pm. No one will give me a straight answer on when my jeep will be done. I'm paying $1000 for this replacement and in return receiving the worst customer service I've ever experienced at any auto shop. I took my vehicle in last year to have my tires rotated and my alignment checked. I am replacing my brakes currently and noticed that they never put my locking lugs back on my tires. I have been driving this car for almost a year with a lug nut missing on each tire. It appears as though the lock key was missing and they removed the locking lug using alternate means but instead of telling me that they couldn't get them back on they put the locking lug nuts in my glove box and didn't say anything. This is a safety issue that I cannot ignore and will refuse to ever take my car back here. A simple effort to communicate any part of this issue to me could have solved this issue. I just had the best experience getting my Toyota serviced today. I have a 20 year old Toyota 4runner that I am very protective of. I met Ishmael and he assured me that my baby was in good hands. There was a leak coming from my transfer case and I was fearing the worse. It took them about 30 minutes to diagnose that it was simply 4 loose bolts! The service was so good that I immediately brought my second vehicle in for an oil change. That's right, I got 2 cars serviced in the same day, and I didn't even make an appointment. I had a problem with a valve stem that went bad and ruined a tire. After going thru three stores to find 35-12.50-20 tires i bought two for the front of my truck. After Jorge installed my tires i made it 15-20 miles down the road and had a flat on one of the brand new tires. The idiot didn't replace the valve stems on the new tires i just bought! I had to break the tire down and replace a valve stem on a brand new tire in the side of the road!! I called the store to complain and the guy on the phone said he would call his corporate office and come up with something to make it right by me. Guess what? No call. Around 6:30 PM on a weeknight, I picked up a screw in the tire of my rental car. After hitting five different gas stations in an unsuccessful effort to add air to the tire, I happened to drive by this Firestone location and realized they were still open. It was 6:55 PM, and they were closing in five minutes. I asked if they would simply add air to my tire so I could get home safely and have the rental company provide roadside service. Instead, they informed me that Firestone has a contract with the rental company, and took the time to remove my wheel and plug the tire, free of cost to me. They graciously provided this service past their 7 PM closing time. It is hard to find great service nowadays, And they have earned my future business without a doubt. My BIL noticed I had a flat. Took it to Firestone to have it repaired, they can't repair it... okay, so let's get a new tire. They tell me that my other tires are bad (and they were, hardly any tread, 2 were bulging) so I got 4 new tires. I was quoted 71.99 a tire... okay. They forgot to mention the cost of the valve covers, tire protection, etc. (LMAO) They told me about 2 hours... I can deal with that. 3 hours later I get a call saying I also need a realignment for only an additional $90.00 and I started laughing. I was, like, my alignment was fine before I took my car there so, no, don't want it, and if I find a problem when I get my car there are going to be some issues. They say they need another half hour to balance my wheels... I finally had my husband drive me down there a little after 5pm (they never called me to tell me my car was done and they had had my car since before noon) and I saw my car in the parking lot. I walked in and told the guy working that I wanted the keys to my car and the bill and asked why they never called me... they were "busy". Greasy hand prints all over the outside of my car (is it that hard to get a rag and clean up the mess you made), rude people, not meeting time expectations, not giving the correct amount on charges... never going there again! read more

I called firestone to see if they can do this repair and to my surprised was greeted with bring it by and we will take care of it. They have horrible service and I would never recommend anyone to go there to get their car fixed. Plus they are over priced by at least a hundred dollars.
