My regular Jiffy Lube had a six car back up when I got there so I decided to come to this location instead. I had a pre-purchased certificate for an oil change that was all inclusive, except for incidental supplies (there was a specific term the certificate used but because it's been redeemed I can't access it anymore so I can't quote it exactly) and taxes. When I went to checkout, they wanted to charge me an extra $20. It took three of them and me refusing to back down for them to say "oh the problem is we accidentally signed you up for a gold service" (or some similar term). They took that charge off and lo and behold, my excess cost was $3.87, which I was happy to pay. So, perfectly adequate oil change to my knowledge, for the first time ever they didn't try to upsell me on some sort of filter. I have no idea if they actually refilled my windshield washer solution, or aired up my tires as is supposed to be included in my certificate. So, the service was very fast, the lobby was clean, and had the soda fountain and popcorn like every Jiffy Lube, and they found and corrected the problem with pressure. But you need to be careful because they tried to cheat me. I think the gentleman checking me out was truly surprised. Frankly, I think it was the guy who checked me in who was sketchy. It makes me wonder if they get a commission on upselling to a higher level of service. I'm not saying don't go there, I am saying make darn sure you understand exactly what they're charging you. read more

My car battery died at the park this morning less than a block from the San Mateo Jiffy Lube. I called the manager first thing, knowing he would give me a recommendation for a tow. He recommended Anthony Sandoval of Rpm Roadside who arrived 10 minutes later. Anthony got my Sportage on the truck with ease and dropped the car off at Jiffy Lube even parking it in the lane properly. Settling in to wait for the battery, I had no worries. I've been going to this location for years and always get excellent service. There are several pluses that make this a great business for me, a woman who knows almost nothing about automobile mechanics. The service professionals listen carefully, don't second guess, and diagnose car problems efficiently. They give choices when they can, explain what parts are needed and why, and show pricing upfront. There is no hocus pocus, let-me-sell-you-something-you-don't-need at this business. It was time for a oil change and I spotted the Jiffy Lube on San Mateo. So I headed in and to my surprise there was a vehicle pulling out of the bay and I was pleasantly greeted by Ryan. He escorted me to the very well kept waiting room where I read the local newspaper. Ryan then let me know what fluids, filters, tire pressure and other stuff that was good or due soon. And the work began. Before I could finish reading my paper I was on my way. Sooo, I first found myself at Perfection Honda because my Takata air bag was recalled. Went and had it repaired after having to take time off work and schedule the appt 2 weeks out (Thank God I didn't get in an accident in the mean time). I was told that my serp belt was about to snap and it was urgent I get that replaced! I chose to stop doing business with Perfection Honda some time ago and subsequently rang Jiffy Lube to have the work done. Not only were they pleased to do the labor on my vehicle, but also personally pulled me to the side and showed me that the serpentine belt was in fine condition. A little over a month ago, we took our Honda CR-V in for an oil change and routine maintenance. Upon bringing the auto home, it dripped several unsightly spots onto our driveway. We took the car back the next day and complained. They of course re-wiped the under parts of the car, but one of the supervisors unexpectedly came to our home and cleaned the driveway. If I could rate this lower than 1, I would. This store stole expensive items from our vehicle. Please read and steer clear of this Jiffy Lube. This afternoon (on 4/18/16) at 3pm, we took our truck in to be serviced by Jiffy Lube. We have visited this Jiffy Lube in the past and never had any issues...until today. After receiving our truck, we paid and left. Stopping at a store on the way home, we went to put a pair of sunglasses back into the case before stepping in to shop. Only to find out that the case was missing. Not only was that case missing, but another pair of sunglasses and case were missing as well! This wasn't just any pair of sunglass but a $200 pair of prescription sunglasses. Angry, we contacted the store immediately. The Manager, Samantha said that she would 'check the cameras and contact us back.' She did call back however, stated that the cameras did not show anything and another employee that she considered "trustworthy" was overseeing the person who was inside the vehicle. Our question, "What happens when the car is pulled out to the lot? Do the cameras show anything there? Why are you hiring a 'trustworthy' person to oversee the person who you don't trust?" We know very well that cameras cannot see everything. Her explanations and lack of caring and attitude came across as some of the worst customer service that we have EVER received from a Jiffy Lube. They have forever lost our business and probably don't even care. We shall be contacting corporate regarding their poor customer service and their lack of taking responsibility. Samatha, if you would have at least tried to have had a better attitude and tried to claim some sort of responsibility, this review might not have even been written. This place is great. Absolutely wonderful staff and they are definitely knowledgable about what they're doing. I went in needing an oil change and during the service, they said there were a few other things that I needed to be aware of. The reason I love jiffy lube in general is because they never make me feel pressured into buying services I can't afford or make me feel like I'm going to blow my car up. The same holds true for this location. I did get my Cabin air filter changed because my AC wasn't working as well and I knew I was going to be needing it but they NEVER pressured me. As a single woman who doesn't know diddly about cars, this is always a huge plus for me. I asked questions but they didn't act like I was annoying them or an idiot. I recommend this jiffy lube to anyone who needs an oil change. I only wish I lived closer to this location, but I live in Colorado so I don't know if I'll ever make it back to this specific location. read more
