To some people a "big o" is very satisfying! Well, the Big O Tires on Rio Rancho Blvd. in Albuquerque truly satisfies anyone with car problems! General Manager Freddie and his Team truly care about taking care of their customers and their cars! We had some air loss in our tires (admittedly while towing a U-Haul Trailer) and our Oil Light went off so we stopped at Big O to check out the tires (not a big deal and they refused to charge us for ensuring they were properly inflated). They told us they could fix the oil leak and damaged oil pressure sensor (okay, so we did happen to run over an armadillo in Amarillo; or truthfully, that armadillo ran/jumped into our oncoming car!). Still, the damage was much more significant than just breaking the plastic air spoiler on the front bumper! We did not want to spend a lot of time or money on our journey from NYC to LA but we could not drive safely from Albuquerque to LA without getting the car fixed first. Freddie and his Team took great care of us, gave us very fair pricing (BTW, Veterans and First Responders get an additional ten (10%) percent discount here!), and totally fixed us up, including changing the sensor, all of the filters, the oil, and everything necessary to get us back on the road safely! I hope never again to break down in Albuquerque but if you ever do, go to the Big O Tires on Rio Rancho Blvd and tell Freddie that I sent you! read more

I have never had an issue with Big O always professional and kind. this is the place to go.

I got a quote from them online for tires. I made an appointment to come in and get them installed. 10 min after checking in they tell me the tires are not available and proceed to give me a quote for "comparable" tires that were more than twice as much. They then said they can order some more affordable tires they can order to be delivered for a later installation that were still considerably more than the tires I originally had a quote for and they did not have the same expected road life. Big O tires was fabulous enough to squeeze me in for a flat tire when I could not get in anywhere else and they did a fabulous job. Total time there was about an hour and I was able to get my steps in for the day. read more

I could've just let this go, but please note, it's about 3 years since I purchased tires here and I'm writing this review because I got screwed over so badly that I can't let it go until I warn other people. ONE of my tires was randomly flat one morning, so I put some Fix-a-Flat tire spray in it and drove it to this location. Tell me why, after they checked it out, that they stated they HAD TO replace my TWO front tires! I asked why it was two tires and not one, and I asked if I could see the damage & the supposed nails that were "lodged in an area of the tire that can't be repaired, but absolutely had to be replaced instead." The dude pointed to a display on the wall with nails in a box and said they found those kind of nails in my tire. He never showed me MY tires and the foreign objects, but I was in my 20's and stupid, and didn't press into the matter to get the correct information from them. Yes, I'm still mad at myself for this. Anyway, I paid a stupid amount to replace my tires, and since then, every time I think about leaving a Yelp review, I always have this place at the forefront of my mind because I wish I was mature enough to require that they treat me right instead of letting them screw me over - even when I knew then that I was being made out to be a joke. So please, don't be me. Go somewhere else or do NOT let your guard down when dealing with this establishment. read more

Got some AT tires to replace the HT tires on my new truck. A little hiccup when the wrong load rated tires were installed but management quickly corrected. Very nice and friendly staff, place was clean and waiting area was comfortable. Plenty of places nearby to grab breakfast or lunch while you wait. They will now be my go too for alignments and rotations and other tire related issues. Way better customer service than most of the Firestone's in the area. read more

I do not advise getting any mechanical work or diagnostic done at this shop. I put a brand new AC compressor in my Jeep just last year. I put new refrigerant in it (good ol AutoZone can and gauge) well I wasn't able to get the system to get really cold trouble shot the system for a year and just couldn't figure it out (no leaks, holding compression) So I called this shop on 07/18 asked them to just drain the system and refill it with proper equipment. I was quoted $129 for it and brought my jeep in that day. Get a call and was told that my system had no refrigerant and it's not holding compression, which is BS because I checked that morning and it had compression and no leaks just wasn't getting cold cold, just cool. They tried telling me I needed a whole new AC system and wanted over $2000 dollars to "fix it". I will not ever go back to Big O Tires again, and will make sure to put the word out there, through all forms of review sites and Social Media to not trust this shop and their Techs. My fiancé is the daughter and sister of mechanics (her dad used to own Corrales Auto Shop) and I've been working on vehicles for almost 30yrs and was trained by a ASE Master Mechanic. read more

I am amazed at how nice they were to us here!!! We went to another center and were told no they would not fix it. Called And Ruben said of course they could help! I know it was late in the day, I just got back from a trip, and something got stuck in my tire!! We called and he said no problem come down!! Within five minutes he checked it out and started the repair! Wow! Excellent service, super friendly, and most of all did not talk down to me because I am a woman. I am impressed with this place. Been to Bernalillo BigO, hated won't go back unless I really have to, now this place I have to say they are top notch. Had an appointment and they got me in on time. Then I was in and out with tire rotation and balance in less than 30 minutes. That is quick. Car was starting to vibrate at about 65 to 70 and now smooth! Thank you big O read more

Brought my car in today to see if an alignment would fix my issue of the drive shaft rubbing on something when it goes up around 4th gear, was told there was no issue & talked out of the alignment (the second part I understand). As soon as I left, the noise from the drive shaft and associated dash light - that I told the tech about - came on...right at 40mph. Like I said was happening. So just be careful if you go as a female, they are super nice & got me in and out fast with the appointment- but probably won't believe you. read more

I had tire trouble while travelling in New Mexico from Canada. The guys at Firestone told me my tire couldn't be fixed and that I would have to replace all four of my Canadian winter tires before I could safely travel. I decided to get a second opinion and went to see Mark at the Rio Rancho Big O store. He fixed my tire and had me back on the road with in 20 minutes - no charge!! First, I'll give credit where it's due. Usually when I come to this store the staff is decent about helping me out. They helped me warranty a couple of tires I had from another Big O. However due to my recent experience I sadly wont return. I walked into this store around 6pm, after getting off of work. The salesman (white hair gentleman) appeared to be flirting with some young girl at the counter. I walked in and waited and to my concern he promptly said how can I help you? I replied, "yes im here to get a qoute on some tires". The guy appeared to be annoyed that I was there and interrupting his conversation. He then replied "well we are about to close" with the worst attitude ever. I said no worries and walked out. I wasn't there to get my tires put on right then and there, I was there to get a qoute and make an appointment to get my four tires on my car. worst customer service will advise EVERYONE I know how unprofessional and horrible this shop is and to STAT AWAY. Mark the "manager" is a complete unprofessional and will try to talk down to you because he "knows everything about cars". I was a long time Big O customer until this location has done me wrong more than once now. All techs will not take any ownership of their mistakes and Mark WILL make new paperwork to out themselves from any damages or missing parts. They will deny your calls (they did it right in front of me). Stay away from the tech "NLW" and avoid dealing with Mark the manager. read more

This Big O' tires location is excellent. I have had positive experiences every time. 'Xavier' is a great employee who is very knowledgeable and kind. The team working here has done good on all of the vehicles we have brought in. My grandmother's Camry, my RAV4, and my mother's SUV. Brought my vehicle in for what I thought was going to be a front brake job. I was called shortly after inquiring why I had thought I needed a brake job. I advised Matt because Hyundia told me so (pads were worn & it's time). I'm told I still have time with my pads and it's not needed. Whoa! I can't express how great a job Freddy, Damian, and all of the staff there at the store did! They made my Jeep ride like I never thought it would ride like ever again! I had some moron run me into a curb and take a chunk out of my sidewall. Big O had to order the tire as they had none on hand and I was supposed to get a call the next morning when it arrived. If I could give negative starts I would. These guys swindle customers into purchasing road hazard warranties then refuse to honor them. I brought a tire in for a simple repair, and these people tried to tell me I needed not just one but two new tires. The tires were less than half their expected life per the manufacturer, but rather than honor the warranty I ALREADY PAID FOR, tried to bend me over a barrel for $600!!! Then disparaged ME because I can't afford to buy two mew tires when only one needed a simple repair. Meanwhile, El Patron tire shop less than two miles away managed to do the repair for $15! Dont trust these big box stores where it's obviously profits over people, and NEVER invest in road hazard warranties from Big O, more like Big Liars! read more

It never ceases to amaze me how a customer standing in the store takes a back seat to a phone call. 2 guys greeting customers, BOTH on the phones. One guy no sooner finishes 1 call when he takes another call that was on hold. Meanwhile, I'm standing there for 20 minutes getting an occasional " I'll be right with you". HIRE SOMEONE TO HANDLE PHONE CALLS. HIRE ADDITIONAL STAFF TO SERVICE IN-PERSON CUSTOMERS. It's not rocket science!!! No more Big Zero for me. That's Zero as in no service provided. read more

This is probably one of the best experiences I have ever had with a mechanic. They were professional, honest and did a great job. I had oil changed, new fuel filters, tires rotated and fuel system cleaning service. I left and was on my way home and they called and said they had screwed up and not performed the fuel system cleaning service. They had me come back so they could finish servicing my F250. I have never had a mechanic admit they had made a mistake. I highly recommend big o! read more

Fantastic customer service !! I tore a hole in the sidewall of my tire right before the holidays. It always happens at the worst times I had a flight leaving the next day and who wants to spend money on a tire right before Christmas. I called around and found another shop who quoted me a price of $35 and when I showed up they wanted $62.95. So I walked out. Fast forward to after the holidays and I called Big O and they gave me a price of $20 out the door. I showed up and that is exactly what I paid. It always amazes me how tire shops try to rip you off by quoting a low price and then charge you to put it on, balance it, and put in valve stems. Its ridiculous !! It would be like buying a car and then they try to charge you extra for keys to drive it or oil for the engine. So unfortunately the new tire went almost flat the next day so I filled it up with air and called Big O. It was after 530 but they told me to come over to the shop and they took care of me right away. They found a nail and repaired it for free. The whole time the manager is apologizing to me for the inconvenience. This was a used tire and they even gave me a warranty. Who does that ? I would recommend this shop to anyone.
