In the fall I took my car to this location for a tire patch due to a screw puncture and the service rep said he tested tread depth and that I would need new tires by spring and was already suggesting which tires to get. My car had only 17K miles on it, so I took it to a Mazda dealership to see if that was correct. The service rep there told me the guy was full of baloney, which I already knew given the fact that they only had 17k miles on them. Today I went to a different Discount Tire location to get more air put into my tires due to cold weather. Now I have 19k miles on the tires, and the guy who filled the tires said my treads are fine. I was instructed to go back outside and have an air inspection. Five minute wait and immediately found a nail in back tire. Suggested I consider two tires for alignment . Then after they took the car in and inspected tire they removed nail and explained I did not need a replacement. They checked for air leaks . Then they inspected all tires. Came back and gave me the keys. Have a nice day. Wait , don't I have to pay ? Nope , you are good . Wow. In and out in less than an hour. They do have veteran discounts. Chance is super sweet! Such a wonderful guy to be greeted by at Discount Tire. I was nervous because my tire pressure was low for a few days and it was snowy/rainy during that time. Once I pulled up to Discount Tire, Chance immediately walked up to me and asked me how he could help. Chance was able to help me find my account in the system and had the team diagnose the issue. I was so relieved when I learned it could be fixed quickly. He gave me a one hour estimate for my car to be ready and it was actually about a 40 minute wait which was really great for my schedule. read more

Went in for rotation and balance on tires purchased here for my EV with 17K miles on 50K mile tires. Was subjected to constant attempt to sell me new tires while still within allowable tread depth on old tires. Rotation and balance was begrudgingly completed and vehicle was returned with grease on door handle, drive selector, and steering wheel. This is the first time I've been subjected to a hard sell and poor quality service from Discount Tire. Will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. A little research shows better value and customer service at Costco. read more

This Discount Tire is about as busy as any other location so I decided to go online to schedule and appointment for 10:00am. I arrived a full half hour plus knowing I caught a nail and needed a repair. Dominick was super friendly, professional and helpful! Very thorough at intake. The picture attached reflect the time I checked in, which was about 10 minutes after the time I actually checked in. I was advised the time for completion would be about 10:00. At the time of this writing, 10:01, my vehicle is still in the parking lot. Very frustrating! So with this, I advise the following: Don't bother making an appointment! Walk ins are being served prior to my vehicle and that is quite infuriating! Here in about another 7 minutes, I'm going to say something. The place is clean and staff professional. That's why the three stars. I understand they are busy but again, I made an appointment.****right when I was about to post this review, a staff member identified I was next and it would be another 20 minutes. I shopped around and was able to get a set of Continental contact sport srs + for roughly the same money as a good set of comparable Michelins at Costco. We purchased a 2019 Tiguan with 20" aftermarket wheels. Costco did not have anything in stock that they would install on the vehicle. Discount has a little more leeway and recommended a size that is comparable with the stock diameter and common enough to be available when traveling. Thank you discount tire for a job well done. Just wanna make people aware that discount tire charges $96 for mounting and balancing new tires. This is in addition to the actual tire price itself and the disposal fee not to mention the hazard certificates they will sell you. now if they install your tires in 15 minutes all four that's short of $400 labor price tag that the customer has to pay. That labor rate is much greater than even a tech or mechanics rate just something to consider . The local tire shops that you see popping up everywhere probably would do the same for tires for about $20-$30 versus $96 and they do it a lot faster and you don't have to wait and drop the car off. Just something to consider. You can find the same tires at Amazon order them and take them to a local tire shop of your choice and save a considerable amount of time and money. read more

My grandson drove to the store with a leaking tire and asked that the store checked for a leak. instead they send him on his way and told him to "keep an eye on it." The tire had a nail, which was identified, removed, and plugged by another tire shop. The management of this location should be replaced. You don't send a kid driving off into the night with a leak. read more

The quality of services here is extremely subpar. The parking lot is a mess with the air check not clearly marked. The waiting room is nice, although their staff never answers phones and allows them to ring constantly. The front desk is too preoccupied discussing their sales for the week, and their own personal vehicles to pick up a phone. Was quite surprised to watch many of the mechanics on their phones with cars in their bays. The professionalism is lacking, especially as I watched two workers toss my keys to eachother over my car and miss. The resulting scratch is minor, but the carelessness of the employees ensures loss of business. I don't recommend this location, but if you do come here make sure to watch your car. Update: 8/23/21: So the tires that I purchase did not work out for me because the tires' traction was terrible. I researched and decided to drop $200 more on Michelin tires. So I called and spoke with Kevin the manager and he was really wonderful to work with. I went back and Kevin had everything ready for me. Within an hour I had a set of good Michelin tires at the agreed-upon price. Overall, I am very happy with the customer experience. So last week I got a flat tire and I am fairly new to Albuquerque and did not have any type of a relationship with the tire shop so I called a friend and also the mechanic I'm using. Both my mechanic and my friend recommended discount tires. I had this impression that I was going to get a very hard sell on tires and that they wouldn't be able to fix my flat. My intuition was accurate right spot on. I made an appointment online showed up on time, and waited in line to get checked in. Their process is very organized. The young man who is basically a salesperson came over and grabbed my keys took my tire and proceeded to get it assessed. Not to my surprise, he came back to tell me that the tire had a slash on the sidewall. It could not be fixed. He showed me the tire. I had expected to get new tires this fall and was prepared to get quotes. I was very upfront with him telling him that I was not ready yet to purchase tires. I wanted to basically get prices options types of tires and then be able to research them. That of course did not happen. I almost wanted to have my donut put back on the car so that I could go home and look at tires and prices and make some decisions. So the tire that I thought I wanted to purchase was not in stock they would have had to order it and that wouldn't work. I was thinking of getting two tires and then coming back in a couple of months to get the other two but I just decided to go ahead and get the four tires on the spot. I really can't say how services at this point they were very quick about assessing the tire and then putting on the four new ones. I did buy the package of course so that I can get the free rotations on the tires and fixes and so forth. I'm not unhappy I'm just not super happy that I got sort of pushed pretty hard to get all four tires immediately. read more

I have bought two dozen tires from this store. I bought another car that had a slow leak in one of the front tires. It has plenty of tread on it. I took it to these guys and said "can you fix my flat tire." They said, "No, you have buy a new one." It cost $130 to fix a flat tire. I am thinking that when I need new tires, I may buy them someplace else. I certainly do not owe these guys any favors. read more

I stopped by about a week ago on my way to drop off my son at school. I had just noticed my tire was going flat. I didn't have time to get in line. All I needed was a shot of air so I could get my son to school on time. Girard. The manager promptly advised me that I had to get in line. I explained my situation and he refused to understand. He would not let me air up my tire. I will never go there again. Discount was one of my favorite companies to do business with because they were always big on customer service. But Girard abruptly changed all of that. I went across tge street to an oil change place, and they promptly filled up my tire. I'm very disappointed with discount Tire and especially with Girard. I have never been to this location but I am glad I did! The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions that I had. I went in to get a new set of tires for my car which I had scheduled ahead of time. A few days before my appointment, they called to confirm my appointment. On the day of my appointment, they called again to make sure I was still heading there. I have never been to a Discount Tire store where they call you on the day of your appointment. I was shocked and very happy to know that they really care about their customers. Definitely will be coming back to this store from now on! read more

Driving through from CA and noticed a nail in the tire. Called 4-5 discount tires in the area and they all had a 2 hour wait. We called here and they said up to an hour. We checked in and staff was very nice and efficient. Niko was training a new employee and got us in the bay in less than 10 min. They patched it up and tightened all the wheels. Discount Tires on Juan Tabo is a bunch of liars! My wife called first thing in the morning, anticipating the need for her tire to be ordered. Nate even applauded her first calling in advance. First off, Nate did not call her as he promised to let her know they had received her car (which was towed. Then, he said the tire should be there around noon. She called at 1; no tire. He then said that it should be ready at 3. 3:45 she called again. He said that there was 2 cars ahead of her. I tried to talk to Nate about why someone who called 1st thing in the morning was last to be done. He DENIED her calling at 10 and 1! He literally said to me that he put 12 people in front of her! Nste is condescending and unprofessional at best. To make it even better, I am disabled. When I picked up my wife's car, BOTH handicapped spaces was being used to park their "done" cars. After many attempts to find my exact tire, they let me know that they couldn't get it until Monday.
