This place is the best! They are really helpful and charge fair. This is the best auto shop that I have been at, service wise and value for the price. You can tell that the manager is really there to help and not just there to make money. Honest mechanics. 5 stars! read more

Made an appointment for an oil change same day and was able to have it done on my lunch break. Service was professional and done quickly and efficiently! Not my usual location but probably will be from now on. read more

Scheduled an appointment for a break inspection. I showed up on time and asked how long the wait would be. Front desk assistant told me less than 10 minutes, knowing that there was only one technician currently on a job waiting for parts.. I waited for over an hour just get my car on the rack. If I take the time out of my day to call and schedule an appointment then show up on time.. I EXPECT some transparency so I can plan accordingly. All of these major coorp mechanics have 0% respect for your time or money. read more

I needed to see about a sound I heard from my front tire. I was impressed with their honesty about what needed to be done. They even asked about warrantee on the previous brakes. read more

Seems like every time I've gone there since 2019, it is "under new management". Each time, I get lectured for doing exactly what the last batch of staff told me to do. This last one (two days ago) BLAMED ME for trusting the last four site managers... should I trust HER? They have made enough changes to my car that a $29.95 oil change (with online coupon) can no longer be done for less than $75.00. I am ready to give up on them and go to one of the other national chains. read more

I spent over $1000 on brake pad and disk replacements here and my brakes are still squeaking. They have given me the runaround every time I take my car in to use my warranty to fix my brakes. I then take it back in today and the guy at the front desk was beyond rude, didn't have my appointment I scheduled and was generally irritated that I was there. I ended up just walking out after he couldn't write my info down correctly multiple times. Do not go here, take your car to an actual mechanic, it's painful going here. read more

Incompetent, price gougers, avoid aggravation and headaches , do NOT take your vehicle to this "brake shop" you will regret it trust me.. when I took my truck in to to get a full brake job , front and rear 800.00 , they only did the front brakes , not the rear , had to pay 800.00 to get my keys back , was very busy , didn't have time to squabble. OK so I drove away from the shop 1 block away I came to a stop sign , when I hit the brakes , the front end started shaking really bad, got off to check , the morons at "brake masters" didn't tighten the lug nuts on the front tires.. (seriously) taking your vehicle to this shop for brakes , can be hazardous to your health... shop around , there are many honest reliable competent brake mechanics , at a fraction of the price!! read more

Very knowledgeable staff. Worked super fast and efficiently! However Ceasar was the selling point to me. He was very friendly and has GREAT customer service! He went above and beyond just his job responsibilities! We are from out of town and he was very kind and helpful with not only our brakes, but even gave us recommendations of things to do around town! Best experience I've ever had getting my brakes changed! read more

These guys are amazing. In town visiting my son and found his car brakes were, well, useless. Got his car over to the Brake Master on Gibson Blvd and they took care of the rest. Fair pricing, honest and professional service. I can't speak highly enough of this location and the people who work here. I'm a fan for life. read more

I went there to get an oil change because I got a $20 coupon in the mail. It's a pretty good deal for the oil change. I had them evaluate lots of other things in my car... And of course they found many problems! I think they did a pretty good job at fixing them, but some things I just refused to have done because they were quite unnecessary and an extreme waste of money! Christian, the guy behind the counter, was nice but maybe just a little bit too professional...lol! I'm sure I'll come back again for a good deal on an oil change, But I do have to warn that they do over charge for things that a local mechanic might do for cheaper... Just a heads up on that one :) read more

Brake Masters - Auto Repair Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I love that they don't have a high pressure sales tactic here. You ask for an oil change and that's what you get. I stopped going to my Toyota dealer because they always seemed to come up with an extra $150 worth of stuff that they thought I needed to get done. And the two times I've been here the wait hasn't been long at all. read more

I went there today to have my oil changed and I was very very happy with the assistant manager Vince he treated me very well and personally changed my oil in my car. I've gone there in the past and not had the best service but I really was impressed. read more

This place is awesome. From the manager Vince to the technicians, everyone is nice and professional. They beat pepgirls pricing by $150, and they back their work. My new go to spot for work on my vehicle. Highly recommended read more

I made a online appointment with Brakemasters on Monday evening to have my Ford Flex looked it. Earlier on Monday I had to have my serpentine belt replaced. I was traveling from Alabama to my home in California, but my car was having issues shifting gears. I had a 7:30 appointment and asked if I can have the transmission drained as soon as possible since I had a 8-10 hour drive to California. To make along story short the transmission was drained and the car was ready in about.an hour. I had some other issues that would not have been done on the same day, however when the transmission was drained, it solved the most important issue and I was able to make it home with no issues. Thanks guys, you were awesome! read more

I'd give this place negative stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE. I took my 2005 Subaru in, and while replacing my pads, machining two rotors and replacing the other two they managed to put a tear in the upholstery on the inside of my door and I'm pretty positive they also test drove it without fully latching the hood. They also didn't clip in one of the pads, so shortly after I got home I had a brake pad fall off. Six months later my front brakes were already making a funny noise when I release them from a stop and the play in the pedal was already well outside the specifications in the manual. They also claimed that they couldn't replace my transmission fluid, but a look in the manual tells me they were probably either misinformed or full of crap about that too. There are three types recommended in the manual aside from the Subaru brand they (obviously) don't have at Brake Masters. I will ABSOLUTELY never be going back here. When I spend $700 getting that much brake work done I expect it to last a hell of a lot longer than six months. Update: It's now been over a year and my brakes pulse slightly when I'm slowing down at low speeds, I think the front brakes aren't right...possibly because they didn't clip the pad in and the rotor is scratched (I dunno). They also just told my girlfriend she needed new rotors, but another more trustworthy mechanic told her they could easily take another turn and are fine as they are now. Now I wonder if I even needed the $500 in parts they charged me for new rotors. There's also a suspicion that they killed the car of a friend of mine by not properly replacing her oil plug, so all her oil drained out on a road trip and the engine fried. I'll say again: I'd give them negative stars if I could read more

I really enjoyed our wait. Very comfortable with plants all around. Felt relaxing just waiting for our oil change and Jesus the store manager has been an awesome help with being professional with great attitude. I do suggest for all locations to have at least a couple of plants makes for a wait better for myself and my mom. Thanks again and will be my favorite spot and place to get my vehicles worked on. read more

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Mike is great, and the staff is super friendly. The prices were reasonable. They have made a customer for life with me. read more

DO NOT GO THERE! Service is very poor. Usually it takes 3 months to change oil in my car. But, for my car to give me the sign to change oil it usually takes another 15 to 20 days AFTER the 3 months period. After I changed oil at their shop, my car gave me "Change Oil Soon" 24 days BEFORE the three months period! I had a feeling that they didn't let the entire bad oil come out or they didn't change the filter for me...they don't let you see what they are doing inside their shop..Their sticker says I'll get $5 off next time service...but I won't go their again. Not recommended for others as well. read more

I think the 1 star review was before this shop was taken over by a new owner. I'm a girl in my 20s, know nothing about cars and not from Albuquerque. Subsequently, I was skeptical of taking my car in to a mechanic that I didn't know- for fear of being mislead or taken advantage of. These guys are honest and found the problem with my Xterra right away. Michael took great care of me and I could tell by the way he talked with his other customers that he had a great rapport. If I lived here, this would be my go to shop! Good honest mechanics. read more

I brought my girlfriend's car in for service recently and discovered -- after Brake Masters did the oil change and topped off my tires -- that all four of the tires' valve caps were not fastened securely. Worse still, the caps were nowhere near tight. I brought the vehicle back to Brake Masters and asked the service rep, Nelson, to check their work again. It scares me to think that if they did not tighten any of the 4 valve caps securely that they may not have done the oil and filter change correctly either. I do not recommend Brake Masters to any other consumer based on my experience. read more
