Dropped off vehicle and left all afternoon for an alignment. They were going to call me and let me know when finished. Hours were stated as open til 7pm so I started calling at 6:30 to check. No answer. I went up to get our car before they closed and it was still in the same spot I left it and they were closed. My car was just sitting out in front unlocked with no call or anything. Guess they do NOT care about your vehicle or belongings of you as a customer. Went back to next morning to get my keys. We had to go home and grab the extra set so we could pick up our car. If I could give zero stars I would. This place is horrible! My tire popped and I had to pull over into the parking lot of Firestone, my jack just wasn't working and I went inside and had asked for help! Even saying I would pay the service fee if they would just please help me! They said I need to take it all down and drive it around. It would take an hour to lower it back down and IS NOT DRIVABLE! I just needed help and they refused! Every co-worker just walking past me not even asking if I needed help! They just stared at me! Watching me struggle! Absolutely awful!! I have gone here for my truck and car. They take excellent care of me and only recommend what needs to be done and do exactly what you tell them! The team is such a great group of guys, I like taking a look when my vehicle is worked on and I was allowed to go into the bay and check it out. Super cool! Jim is the guy that handles everything and helps you at the front desk and he is a really nice person as are all of the guys I met that work there. I am very happy with them and am going to be having more work done as they really helped me out and gave great advice too! Husband went to get a tIre fixed. The employee was on the phone for a long time then another lady came in he helped her first. Then assisted my husband and said where the hole was he couldn't fix it. He'd been there 30 minutes by now. When leaving another employee told him itt was fixable it's just "that guy that waited on you ddidnt want to doom it it Woolf have taken some extra work". I arrived at Firestone in Abilene at 1:30 PM for an oil change and to take a look at my low tire pressure signal as it was on. It took 30 minutes to enter my information into the system, all the while he was promising that next time I come, it wouldn't take this long. He said 1.5 hours max to do the work specified. It is 5:25 PM, I am still here, and they haven't even started! They close at 7:00 PM so I have asked at least 5 times how they plan to have me out of here by closing time. They haven't communicated anything to me the entire 4 hours I have been here. To add fuel to the fire, I have witnessed 11 people come in and leave after I arrived with their service complete. Needless to say, I will never be back! Terrible customer service. Absolutely terrible. read more

These guys are so kind, professional, and truly great! I hit a giant puddle after a rain storm and my car was making an awful scraping sound. They were so wonderful and got me right in and found the problem. No nonsense. No trying to sell me things I didn't need. 2/01/2019 Update on Yelp review..The Regional Manager called me and told me that we will not be charged for the tires that were installed and that he would address the issues I mentioned. I did run the complaint up the ladder to Firestone Headquarters and was given prompt responses both times. ***Original post below edited*** I work in Abilene and have a company vehicle. I take it to the Firestone on Clack because it is convenient. Been going there for three years. I get routine maintenance and they always seem to miss something, washer fluid not filled, radiator fluid not topped off and skid plate/panel left loose to name a few. Our company uses Element fleet services (a Corporate Maintenance group) for all repairs so they have to call and get approval for repairs. Yesterday I dropped off my truck and specifically told them NOT to replace the tires because the vehicle was going to be auctioned off in a few weeks. I had a phone conversation with a Firestone employee at this location around mid day and told them again that new tires were not necessary, I was told that he could not make that decision and that it was up to the maintenance provider. So I spoke to our Fleet Manager and he disapproved the tire installation they submitted. When I picked up the truck it had NEW TIRES on it. The counter staff is the problem at this location. I have had bad experiences with Firestone in Los Colinas (Dallas Area), Brownwood and now Abilene. They need to hit the refresh button and get back on the track of doing good work. i left a previous review for this location months ago (see below) about the excellent service i received here. while most of that still stands true, i unfortunately have an update. after having my oil changed here back in may, it seems as though my splash guard was not reapplied correctly, causing it to hang down and make an awful scraping noise. i was out of state for the summer and thought i would return to this location to at least have my car looked at and hopefully have this issue resolved. when i explained the issue to the three employees there, they informed me that they were extremely busy and booked up for the next few days and there was really nothing they could do for me since the initial service was done back in may. i left their store feeling frustrated and let down. fortunately, there's an avis lube right down the street where a nice employee was willing to have a look, and quickly realized that all he had to do was remove the splash guard. he even told me exactly what part to order and that he would personally put it on my car for free! **initial review** great service at this location! i went in for an oil change and overall inspection of my car because i'll be driving it about 800 miles in a week or so. the gentleman informed me of a "care package" that would ensure my car was safe to take on a long trip. the entire process took just about an hour with no issues whatsoever and only cost $80!! after speaking with the man working, he informed me that he has a young daughter and inspected my car as if she were the one driving. i have nothing but positive things to say about the service i receive read more

Would give zero stars if possible. This has been such a freaking headache. Mid August my husband's truck brakes went out. We took it in on a Wednesday or Thursday. We were hoping it would be done by Monday because he was leaving for work out of country. Called us on Friday saying it was done. $1000. Husband went to pick it up but when he got in the truck and backed out the truck was very hard to stop. He had to put all the weight he could to stop it. Left the truck there. About a week or so later they called saying they thought they fixed it but during their test they realized they didn't actually fix it and backed it into a light pole- crunching the side of his bed and tailgate, crushed tail light, and ruined the bumper. They said they would send it to a body shop to get it all fixed. Then we didn't hear anything from them for like 3 weeks. My husband got back into the country and they called saying it was fixed. We picked it up and the next day my husband is filling his gas tank and all of a sudden the gas starts gushing out from under the truck while we're still sitting at the pump. Called them the next morning as soon as they open and told them they needed to come get the truck because it's just not safe to drive it with the gas coming out how it was. During the call the man on the phone said "well it must have been the body shop cause we never touched the gas tank" but on the $1000 bill $400 of it was for "dropping the gas tank". So either they lied on the bill or they're just lying to get out of trouble(either way really annoying). So they just called and said that it was finished and there were some tubes to the tank that weren't connected. Pick it up and go to a pump to try it out. Without even starting my husband looks under the truck and sees it's leaking. Turn right around and leave it there again. Hopefully it'll be done tomorrow(10/4/19). It has been 7 weeks of ridiculousness. read more

Ordered 4 tires for my NEW set of wheels. The tires came in the next day which was great, but when the tires were being mounted they managed to chip the paint on one of the wheels. For a tire shop that does this type of work on a daily basis this is unacceptable. I brought up the issue with the manager I believe it was and he said if I wanted to get my wheel fixed, he would cover the expenses. I appreciate the offer, but its a hassle trying to find a shop, schedule it, and get it fixed. It should've never happened in the first place. read more

I was on a business to Abilene. Less than a month ago I had had my car serviced at a Firestone near my house. A few days after arriving in Abilene I noticed my temperature gauge really going high. We checked my car out and it showed that the radiator cap was off and that I lost a lot of fluids. We tried fixing it ourselves by adding more coolant putting the cap back on but the temperature gage kept going up. We were within two days of leaving and making a long drive back home. I went to the local Firestone here and let them know of the issues that I have had and what was going on. I agreed to diagnostic test for around $30 and they would let me know what was going on. They ended up flushing the system and adding more coolant which fixed the problem. They also didn't charge me anything as we weren't sure how the radiator cap became loose and I have been in the shop very recently. I am so happy with the service that I received even if I had to pay 39 charge. I know that car labor is expensive and I am so grateful for the care that they provided so that I can have a safe Ride home. I highly recommend working with them and the gentleman that service me was Robert. They also provided me rides to and from my hotel. Thank you Firestone!!!! read more

On 08/22/2017, my aunt had some new tires put on her vehicle here while she was visiting from out of town. She arrived at 1:30pm and DID NOT walk out until 7:45pm, 6+ hours there was total BS!!!! . They spoke with her 3 times with a simple "we are still working on it". She is 70 years old and a diabetic, had not eaten all day, and was treated very poorly!! Firestone is knowing for taking their sweet time, example: "yes we can fit you in it" when you get there "it will take about an hour to an hour and a half", but turns into 3-4 hours later...but 6+ hours! Oh but she was given a free certificate for a wheel alignment for the life time of ownership of her vehicle. WOW...she shouldn't have been charged for any of her time wasted there!! This is our third time to do business with this particular Firestone Automotive Center. They have completed the job each time, which in Abilene, it is hard to find places who are open most days and willing to work! They are probably not the cheapest place to go, but have been very professional and knowledgeable, and I trust that! They are open most week ends, as well, so when my kids come to town I can get things done on their cars when needed. As far as price ... I go with, "you usually get what you pay for." Thanks for your help again, guys! I could print the list of the other five places we checked this week and their incompetent comments before ending back at Firestone, but I'll just say the worst we have found starts with P and ends with Boys. :-) Incidentally - the repair was to a third brake light on a Tahoe. read more

Firestone strikes again! Went in for a tire rotation & balance ONLY on our truck. If you do anything for "courtesy" you need to tell your customer! We take care of our truck & know what's needed & when. We also use what is needed & recommended for our truck. Now our anti-freeze is overflowing bcz they either added water to it or an unknown coolant. This truck takes a certain type of coolant & now we have no idea what's in it. So now, we have to DRAIN THE COOLANT, buy the right coolant & refill again. And to top it off the tech tried to say our mud tires are cupping (which they aren't) he completely moved the seat in every direction, also moved the pedals & steering wheel! Never have we ever had crap like this happen at Firestone. Ever think that people have their seats set a certain way bcz of body injuries?? read more

So, something must be up with Firestone, because every other time I've had to take our cars here, they've always been very punctual and helpful right away. Today, however, I waited and waited, then finally signaled someone over, only to be told matter-of-factly, 'We never come to the car - you always have to come in.' Um, so not only is this not true, but it's bad customer service, especially considering (in my case) I had a possible battery-or-alternator issue and COULDN'T shut down the car without it potentially going out on me. Then he argued with me about shutting off the car. Okay, again, not helpful. Not professional. So, I'm wondering if they've just decided to switch out their previously professional, courteous staff with rude and condescending men, or what, exactly? Road Rage in CUSTOMERS CAR?!!!?!??! I was going north on S. Danville Rd looping under freeway to Spirit Halloween store next to Firestone Complete Auto Care. A Black Camaro was in front of me who stopped at yield sign waiting for south bound traffic to go. He seemed to take a while after the road was clear and then started to go straight and then made a sharp right turn across the 2 lanes heading into last parking lot entrance behind Firestone. As he started to go straight I quickly took the chance to head straight for the entrance as he appeared to be going straight. He then stopped completely in front of the parking lot entrance and did not move. He then went ahead and pulled in behind Firestone. He drove in center of road and then took wide turn into one of the Firestone car bays. I glanced over and saw him staring at me in an aggressive manner. He then stepped out still staring at me and that's when I noticed he worked for Firestone and was driving a customer's car. I reacted to his aggressive stares and climbed out of my car. As I approached him he commenced to yell what was my problem. That ignited me more. I asked to see the manager. We argued and I continued to ask for manager. The service manager came up and tried to tell me and him that we should just walk away and that he did not see what had happened and he could not say either way. I told him, that is why I am here, to tell him what happened and that this behavior with his employee in a customer's car should not have happened. He should little concern. Driver continued to argue with me and admitted to looking at me crazy and manager still did not apologize to me or for the employee! I asked for Regional manager information, I will be calling them. This again is another bad example of the type of employees Firestone is allowing to deal with their customers and their properties!! That is it, take your business elsewhere. Open your eyes, we are the customers and we do not have to tolerate these bad experiences and below standard employees. I've been to this location a handful of times and while ultimately I have had an alright experience with this particular Firestone, they fail to deliver quality service when it comes to big ticket jobs. I brought my car in for an appt @ 8:00 for a "leak detection" in regards to my PS, which was recommended on my previous visit. One hour later I received a call from Mr. Sides informing me that the leak detection results came out with no leaks detected in my oil pan, (in my oil pan...). I responded with gratitude but then proceeded to ask about my PS, because that is what I brought my car in for, because that is what he recommended himself for me to get done in order to resolve what they told me was a PS issue. He tells me he'll call me back, we get off the phone, minutes later he calls again and tells me the PS needs replacement. I agreed to it. At 5:00 PM, 9 hours later, I call the store because I haven't received word about my car. The advisor on the phone tells me they're still working on it, and they'll have it ready by closing time (which is at 6:00 PM). I get to the store around 5:45 PM, ask the advisor about my car. He goes to check on it, comes back and tells me that they have not done any work on it. He proceeds to tell me that it's not the PS but the alternator that is making noise. From there we made no revision to the work order because the alternator wasn't a dire issue. I then ask the advisor to cancel the charge for the leak detection. From my perspective as the customer, I agreed to a leak detection service based on their recommended expertise. If it turns out that I didn't need a leak detection in the first place, in addition to the fact that they ran the leak detection in a system with no relation to the PS, why should I be charged for a service that I didn't need? Bad business practices? In the end the advisor reluctantly cancelled the charge. The overall experience was just terrible. As a previous Firestone employee, this was just an utter disappointment. TL;DR Took car in for service based on recommendation. 10 hours later, turns out car didn't need that service done. No feedback while car was in shop. Was told it was being worked on while in actuality it wasn't. If you must go to Firestone, aside from the small jobs that are easy tasks, just be sure you know what you're getting into. read more

Let me start by saying that I am an ASE Certified Master Mechanic and have my own repair facility. I don't have a front end alignment rack, so I farm front end alignments out, and used this shop once before in the past. They had a front end guy that I liked and who did a good job on a previous vehicle. So I thought I would use them again. I called and made an appointment to bring the vehicle in to have the toe-in set, and have the steering wheel centered. When I arrived, I was told the front end guy that had done the work on my previous visit had left, but they had another guy ("Oscar") that had "23 years of experience". So I gave them the tire pressures that I needed the tires set to, and asked that they also check the tire pressure in the spare while they had the vehicle. I explained that the vehicle tracked straight, and the tires were wearing perfectly. I just wanted an alignment check, and to set the toe-in and center the steering wheel. 2.5 hours later, they gave me back the vehicle and a bill for a complete front end alignment. I drove it back to my shop and noticed the steering wheel was still not straight, and now the vehicle was PULLING to the right. I checked the tire pressures, and all 4 tires were over inflated (by 20-35 PSI, well above the rated maximum inflation pressure), and the spare tire only had 3 PSI in it - which means they never even bothered to check it. Upon further investigation, I found the shim pack was missing (yes, MISSING) on the R/F upper control arm, and the bolts were backed off 1/2" and the control arm was loose, with fresh wrench marks on the nuts. This was NOT the condition of the vehicle when I dropped it off. I called "Jim", the store manager to see about rectifying the situation and was told the steering box has "play" in it and a leak, and therefore the toe-in could not be set, and they would not adjust the steering box because of the leak. There is no leak in the steering box, there is very little play in it, the entire front end is tight (ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, etc.) as the vehicle only has 48K miles on it, and "play" in a steering box has nothing to do with setting the toe-in. Jim said he didn't want to be "bothered" with it anymore and that his mechanic had already spent 1.5 hours on it (which he did not). Jim insisted I accept a refund of my money and be done with the situation. I subsequently opened a case with Firestone and it is pending. Meanwhile, I am taking the vehicle to a reputable front end shop to have the damage repaired that this Firestone dealer caused. The more serious aspect of this situation is that the R/F upper control arm was left loose, and this could have caused an accident. I would suggest that until "Oscar" is replaced by an ASE Certified Mechanic, and Firestone gets a Manager that doesn't have an "attitude" in this store, you find another facility in which to have your vehicle serviced/repaired.
