This might be the scummiest most slimy mechanic I've ever been to. The lady at the front tries to up charge you on every single part of your car and then swears she doesn't make commissions which may be true but the mechanics definitely do and when I brought that up to her she stuttered and stayed silent with no response then just said Im sorry. We came in for a starter and then she said my car would be stranded if they didn't change the serpentine belt when my car has 30 thousand miles on it, so they changed it without talking to anyone and added 300 dollars to my bill. I brought my car there various times for repairs and they were great. This last time not only did the repair take 3 days but I had to return for additional work. I went in for engine mounts, had to return for steering pump and a clicking noise developed that went away briefly after they flushed the system but then returned a week later. In complete panic I had a nail in my tire as soon as I got home from work that I can hear the air coming out. I hurried to Firestone at 6:00pm knowing they closed at 7:00pm. The service at this shop was amazing they were super quick and attentive to my needs as soon as I walked through the door. Thankfully all they needed to do was a patch. This place is horrible! I took my car for A/C service. They told me that the compressor was bad and it need to be changed. The cost: $1,100. I said I would take it somewhere else. Then they charged me $ 90.00 for the inspection. Which they failed to mention at the beginning of the conversation. I took it to another service center and it just cost me $100.00 for the repair. Because it turned out to be a valve problem not a compressor issue. Do not take your vehicle here for any reason. Seriously!!!!!! Called Firestone and this place in an independent dealer. Sometimes simply relying on the ratings does not reflect the potential positive impact on your personal situation. My wife's SUV had a nail on a tire. We took the vehicle to a nearby tire shop in the Devonaire area early in the morning. The guy there simply refused to attempt to repair and insisted that it needed a new tire. So we looked at alternative locations near by and found the Firestone tire on 120th st 129 ct. The placement of the nail I thought was repairable, the folks at this establishment looked at the vehicle without an appointment and promptly repaired it. Usually high reviews correspond to heavy amount of work. However, if an auto mechanic saves me over $100, you bet they're getting 5 stars! I was getting some cosmetic work (custom lighting) on my car at a nearby shop. The technician doing that work and I both noticed "flaking" on my battery and suggested I get a new one. Since I have a card on their network, I stopped at Firestone and expressed my concern. Jorge the manager suggested doing an electrical system check first, and determined that the battery and alternator were in working order and the only work required was cleaning the battery terminals. The difference between $170 versus under $70 (and honesty) merits a 5 star review. read more

I wish I could honestly give zero stars ! I could've died by the poor unprofessional stunt they pulled. I went in to have my tire patched not plugged but ended up having the mechanic rush to do a ridiculous half a** job and place a plug on the side of my tire. I remember him verbally saying oh it's on the side and shrug because he was rushing to go home. He had just finished having a screaming match with the front desk employee because he didn't even want to attend me due to it being 430pm and closing time was 5pm I then proceeded to go to work and as I'm on the highway the plug comes out of the tire and I almost had a fatal accident (this was hours after having the plug placed) when I came in the next day I explained how I almost got hurt and they said "the mechanic was doing you a favor by plugging it even though tires should not be plugged when the nail is on the side of the tire because it's dangerous therefore you need a new tire" So it's not until after i was charged for a plug on a tire that shouldn't ever have been plugged and after I could've died that I get some honesty. They knew that this was dangerous and plugs should not be placed on a tire in that circumstance but did not say mam unfortunately this tire is not repairable its actually dangerous instead of putting my life at risk I was charged 25 dollars for a plug that came out the same day of purchase and lifetime of trauma due to an almost fatal accident I asked for a refund and he said no. I'll never return here and I'll never allow any of my friends of family to come here. If the mechanics are this unprofessional and do jobs that place peoples lives at risk I will make sure to spread the word. This is ridiculous. read more

Unfortunately I won't come back ever again, I always get my tires fixed here and yes takes over one hour and half no matter if you are the first or 10 cars. I have waited to up to almost 4 hours patiently for the same service flat tire repair. Today by far was the worse service maybe because the manager was not there? Once mu car was done, l took my car to inspect around the corner to find out I had another nail on the same side I had requested my repair, they can tell me I need new breaks and new tires according to their " inspection" but could not tell me about my other tire with a nail. More over if you tell me about breaks and tires and give me an estimate, why not tell me for an additional charge or free as a courtesy would you like all your tires filled to the correct measure. So if I had the chance or the opportunity to rate this auto shop, I would give it a negative score beyond the biggest number you can think of. The reason why this place does not care about fixing whatever issue you have with your vehicle. This place will suck you dry out of all the hard earned money and not even think twice about it, their mechanics are very under qualified and unprofessional and so is the staff in the front. DON'T DO IT!!!!!! Took them a coupon from firestone to get our brakes resurfaced and pads changed. They tried to give us the okie-doke and say we needed to replace the rotors. We refused and they did not resurface the rotors and sent us on our way. How do I know, 1 week later I still had problems. Took it to the firestone on W 49 Street who measured the rotors and said they were never resurfaced. This company only deserves a negative 5. Oh and the supposed supervisor there is Mike. We have had 4 consecutive TERRIBLE experiences with them. As the saying goes "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". The first time, we dropped of one of our cars for an oil change. When we picked it up as we were driving away smoke started coming out everywhere. We had to take it back right away. They said that they filled it up too much and it was burning the oil. It was a pretty scary incident but anybody could make a mistake so we did not think anything of it. Second time, we dropped of the other car for anoter oil change. This time the car had a weird smell when we picked it up, like if something was burning. Something similar had happened, they put too much oil AGAIN and it had spilled so the residue was burning with the heat. We had to go back for them to clean it because the smell was very strong. The third time, we dropped of the same car for the tire rotation since we had purchased the unlimited service with them. This time, they lost our wheel lock key. At the time of pick up, when we realized what had happened, they made us look in a box and pick a key that "fit" our wheel locks. We grabbed the one that fit the best. Later on we found out that it did not fit. Luckily, we recently sold the car and did not have to deal with that issue any longer. Today was our 4th and last incident. This one takes the cake. We dropped of our new car with a nail on one of the tires. Four hours later we decided to go pick it up (never got a call to let us know it was ready). When we get there our car was DEAD! We notified one the mechanics and he came outside. We asked what had happened. He said "nothing, we only worked on the tire". He could not figure out what was going on. My husband suspected it was the battery that was dead. We asked to talk to someone else who could explain what happened and could fix it. This extremely rude mechanic come out and touched every single button inside the car. He said that it was probably the battery but that was not their responsibility because we dropped it off just for the tire. I could not believe my ears... I asked to talk to the mechanic that worked on the car and they refused to let me talk to him or give his name. They said it did not make a difference. I asked then to talk to the manager; he told me he was the manager/owner. I simply could not believe it! Long story short, they told me to take the car somewhere else to see if there was something wrong with it. I asked how, they said with a tow truck. I asked if they would pay for it and they said once again that it was NOT their responsibility. I asked why couldn't they fix it, they said because they had to charge me. I was so frustrated!!! I asked them to jump start it and they finally agreed. They brought these extremely old cables and said that they were so old that it might not work. Thank God it did and we were able to leave that horrible place. We suspect they pressed the start/off button without pressing the brake, which turns off the engine but leave the car running that's why the battery was dead. When I first opened the door of the car it was beeping like something was left on. With that being said, it was their responsibility. We would NEVER go back there. I contacted Firestone consumer affair and put a compliant. I don't know if that makes a difference but at least it makes them aware. read more

She took it back and they charged her over 800 to fix it. They never fixed anything and she ended blowing the engine. I believed they purposely damaged her car. I am right now purchasing a new car. I took my car for a nail in the rear driver tire. They lifted the car as soon as I gave them the keys and exactly 46 minutes after the unmounted the tire to work on it. The service took 1 hour 11 minutes from the moment they did my paperwork and the place was empty. They do not offer Nitrogen to inflate tires. Place protective mat or seat cover to do service They do not vacuum the car after service. The price was alright. The atmosphere was very friendly. That gave them an extra star. I will not go to this location again. I was on the clock while waiting for their incompetence. read more

This place is the most awful place. Took my car in for a simple diagnostics because the check engine light was on. I waited 5 hours for them to look at my car and they charged me $200 to replace a "sensor". I left the auto shop and drove 2 miles home and in that time period my whole light system on my dashboard went off and was telling me all these problems were happening. As I was driving my car started to smoke up and when I got home all my coolant bursted from the bottom of my car and stopped working. We called immediately and they said to tow it back to the shop. They finally budged and paid for the towing only to call us and say they want to charge us $600 to replace the system when I first went in and it was working perfectly fine. We got in contact with corporate and they give us the personal number of the owner and he finally answered our calls only to tell us he will give us a "negotiated price" of $300. My car is unusable and in the hands of the people who destroyed it. Never go to this place. Save yourself both your cars and money. read more

I am not sure why this location has only a 1 star rating. I have been a customer for the past 5 years and the employees are always helpful, friendly, and honest. Most recently I came in for an oil change and to replace my rear brake light as it was out. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. They alerting me with an issue with my vehicle that I was not even aware of and instead of trying to sell me on them fixing it, they let me know that it should be covered by the factory warranty if I took it to the dealer. In the past I have purchased tires, brakes, and had a few other routine mileage check ups here and have never experienced any issues. They have fair prices and always have fast service. read more

Starting with the fact that this is not a real Firestone branch, they only sale Firestone products there are many other issues with this business. The other day my wife went there for a simple oil and filter change and ended up paying $74 supposedly because they put synthetic oil, something that she didn't ask and they never clearly offer her as an option (if they ever filled with synthetic oil). Instead, what they treated was to go for other services and more money from her with the typical mix of rude and condescending very far from a professional treatment. They sold an expensive tire 150.00 to my 22 year old son and did not give him options on less expensive tires knowing that he didn't have a lot of money to spend. When I called them to ask them they said it was because it was a 225/50/17. As I was talking to them I went online and found they had tire ranging in price from 78.99 to 116.99. When I told him, then they said they asked him if he wanted the same tire they had sold him the last time which of course they had scammed him before and my son said yes. We used this location several times just because it was convineitnly near our home...but each time, you walk in with one issue and leave with several new ones...the latest problem was, a simple oil change. Something that should have taken just 20 mins, and done. Instead, on my driveway, the next morning was a huge oil leak. Not sure what was wrong...take it back, they inform me that the leak is on the Oil pan and it's going to cost over $500 to replace. 350 just for the labor. Honestly, how crooked can these guys be? I asked the guy why was it perfectly fine when I walked in there and now it was stripped. His response was, Normal wear and tear. Screw them. TERRIBLE service...will never go back to them again. I have had several bad experiences with these guys, but the latest one takes the cake!!!! Being the son of a former auto mechanic shop owner, I know my way around cars and tools, but my HOA does not allow repairs in my driveway so i am relegated to taking my car in for repairs. My first experience with them was decent. It was an oil change. Fairly quick and painless. Building trust after an uneventful oil change, I took my truck to change the starter. Starting my truck was hit or miss and I can hear the starter spinning without cranking. After 4 hours, they finally called me to tell me that the issue was not my starter, it was my battery AND alternator and it would be upwards of $700 to fix. For a battery and alternator (that i did not need)???!!!! WTF! I declined, paid for the "diagnostic" and ended up changing the starter myself at my parents house. Needless to say, this fixed my issue and the battery and alternator lived happily ever after (until cash for clunkers). The most recent event took place this past weekend. i bought a new-to-me 2000 Excursion. The truck had a bad shake when braking so i took it in to get it looked at. I stepped outside with the mechanic as he inspected the car. He told me the rotors and pads were brand new and did not look warped. I walk inside to talk to the manager after he and the mechanic had a sidebar. The manager comes back and tells me that I have to replace the rotors because they are warped and the pads. I replied that his mechanic said they were new and he insisted that they were warped. They quoted me over $650 to do this. I asked if they could resurface the discs (knowing they were not warped). The arrogant SOB replies "You can go drag someone elses name in the mud but not mine. I will not do it." I smiled said thanks, paid for the diagnostic and took off. Went to a small shop on 7401 Flagler St called Nunez Tires. $140 for resurfacing and putting new brake pads. Truck brakes like new now without issues. Bottom line is Firestone on 120th and 129th are a bunch of arrogant thieves. i cringe when i pass by and see all their bays full. So many naive people paying hundreds more than they have to . Even Pep Boys or Midas would be a better choice than these hacks... Off my soap box! read more

Apparently, my car decided that it was not feeling 2011 at all and died in my driveway (thankfully) on New Year's Eve. I had just replaced the battery less than a year ago, so I was a little confused (and concerned) as to what was happening. I need my car for work, so it needed to get fixed before Monday. For that reason, I headed to my closest Firestone to get the problem checked out on Sunday early afternoon. My service rep, Luis, was very nice. In fact, I considered giving them an extra star just because of his personality, but then I remembered that I had to endure 3 DAYS OF TORTURE and quickly reconsidered. He called me shortly after to let me know that my alternator needed to be replaced, and b/c that alternator needed to be replaced, it had drained my almost-new battery so I would need another one of those as well. Fabulous. Awesome. But, not something unexpected as my car has some serious mileage. However, I was still a huge cost that I was not expected, especially after the holidays. They told me to pick it up right before closing and I did. Then the fun really began. I noticed it was driving a little funny as I pulled out of the lot, but figured it may be because it was cold after not being driven for a few days. The next day, it began idling low and feeling as if it was going to stall on me every time I was at a red light. Then, it began hopping up and down in 1st and 2nd gear. Ooookay. Back to Firestone I went. They told me it was "no big deal," just that they had forgotten to tighten the air filter when they were replacing the alternator. An hour later, I returned to pick up my car, happy this saga was finally over. Jokes on me. The next morning, there it is again. Worse than ever. I drive my now fuming self back to the Firestone...AGAIN (this is visit #3 if you are keeping track). Luis gets in the car with me so he can see what the problem is. He agrees that it is idling really low. He tells me to leave my car. I do. The entire day goes by and he calls me to tell me that they have no clue what it is. Really? Because my car did not come in with this problem, so it is obviously something that they did. At this point, I tell them to forget about it as I was just going to take it to the Ford dealer the next morning to get taken care of. Not even 15 minutes passed by, and Luis was calling. They had miraculously found out what was wrong with the car after a whopping 8 HOURS. He then had the gall to ask me if I wanted to hear how much it would be to fix. No thanks! I went to pick up my car that night and dropped it off at Ford the next morning. Guess what? They fixed it in an hour. And after they heard everything I went through, they didn't charge me a dime. They also said the problem came about because they had installed my battery improperly. Ford 1, Firestone -3 I'm never coming back. read more

Next day I got a call from owner, said not his fault. I said I will take it back with corporate as they advised and will come in to pick up the car. Said I will stop by and pay for the tire. Stopped by on 1/29 to pickup vehicle, store manager would not release, said I have to pay CASH ~$500. I advised the store that on the door they posted all credit cards accepted (VISA, DISCOVER etc.). Said owner not allowing it now and I have to pay cash. I do not have $500 in my wallet, store closed and I am left with no car. Walk away, do not engage as it is a rip-off. read more

I come here often for car repairs and I'm still wondering why.. they're probably the most expensive and taxed place in the area.. they are unreliable as far as estimating when parts will come in and they will take their time with your vehicle unless you go in right before they close and they are just trying to go home.
