When does this ever happen???!!!! First phone: Hi I'd like to change the faceplate and doors on my fireplace so the color matches the decor in my home. The reply: let me call the tech to find out where you can find the model number on your fireplace so you can order the faceplate directly from the manufacturer. I'll call you right. She called back within minutes and said... the tech said if you want to save hundreds of dollars, remove the faceplate and doors, sand them thoroughly, buy high temp paint and spray paint them. It will work just as well as replacing the components as long as you sand everything thoroughly. Even if it does work out. Thank you for not hitting me with the most expensive option. We needed our fireplace serviced (just in time for the cold weather) and since we were a bit outside their normal service area, we had to schedule a couple weeks in advanced. TOTALLY our fault, we missed our appointment and our home-for-the-holidays college student was fast asleep and couldn't let them in. For twenty years, my family room gas fireplace has burned blue like a stove. It also randomly cycled on and off. The company who installed it at new build, Silver State Fireplaces, was out 3 or 4 times over that period and said it was working normal and the flame couldn't be changed. Silly me, thinking fire should be yellow. I decided to take another crack at it with a different company and found FireplaceFix here on Yelp. In a half hour, they had the flame burning yellow like a campfire and a new switch to solve the intermittent turning off/on problem. You can't go wrong with FireplaceFix. read more

We paid $3500 for them to butcher a wall like neanderthals, dump some rocks into 2 fireplaces, and install a 1980's looking switch into our top to bottom renovated modern house. They sold me on the safety aspects of a fireplace but did very little work and were out in 2 hours, so $1750 per hour for unskilled imbeciles to ensure the safety (they did horrible unskilled labor, like minimum wage labor) of my family. They gave us the hard sell, like really vomitous openly scammy trash sales and work. This company is disgusting. They really made it seem like the work my contractor did (99% of the fireplaces) would kill us. $3500 implies real work, high quality skilled work. The number alone says that, but nope.
