As I said before, he is absolutely obsessed with customer satisfaction. His guys came in and did a good job laying pavers and turf in my small 15x40 yard. I got an 8% lower quote from another company but I chose anthem for a few reasons; verified license, they could start immediately where as I'd have to wait a few weeks for the other guy, Steve said they could finish in a day where other guy said 4 days. They ended up taking 2.5 days to finish but there were some weather delays that played a factor. I think they would have finished in 1.5 - 2 days otherwise. Short Review: If you are looking for any kind of concrete work, RUN! Anthem subcontracts to a company that is TERRIBLE and has absolutely no idea how to correctly lay or seal concrete patios. Long Review: Our backyard has been a nightmare couple months for us. After spending an incredible amount of money, we still have a patio that is unusable for its intended purpose. I met Pete and and explained that I wanted a very large concrete patio for dancing. That was my #1 concern, that it was smooth and danceable. We're dancers and have many dance get togethers a year. He assured me that they could absolutely deliver that. Cue a nightmare couple of months...first of all the company they brought in to lay the patio literally looked like recently paroled crack addicts. I know that sounds terrible, and I am not at all one to judge looks, but these guys were incredibly sketchy and way beyond what I think anyone would be comfortable with. One of the guys said, after literally just seeing me walk out of the house "hey, can I walk your dog?" Umm...no. Then two of them got into a loud, profanity filled FIST FIGHT in my backyard one morning. Just unbelievably unprofessional! The first patio they put in was very sticky, the sealant they used was terrible, and given we needed smooth for dancing, which we had explained over and over, was not at all what we were promised. Pete kept assuring us that it would lose its stickiness as it cured, and it never did. It was supposed to slope to the drain, and instead huge pools of water would form after it rained. Pete kept trying to tell me that was "normal" and claimed he was in a Home Depot parking lot, and it was sloped and also had huge puddles in it after a rain...yes, that was the best comparison he could reach for. Then the concrete started cracking, literally days after the patio went in. They first tried a few "repairs" but they kept making the cracks worse. All of these issues were days of taking pics, trying to contact Pete, waiting a week to hear back etc. etc. After a few weeks, and the concrete still being very sticky and having cracks and puddles when it rained, Pete finally got the concrete company to agree to rip out that patio and put a new one in. We agreed not to have the color added on top because he said that was part of why it was so sticky but we wanted the concrete colored. We chose a deep grey color to match some of our pavers. Cue patio day and the concrete goes in, at first we think it's colored because it's a dark grey, but we realized now that they did not color it at all because it dried to regular concrete color. I was super upset, but overall the slope was better and they cut a lot more lines in the second patio which made the puddle situation better, it still wasn't as smooth as we were promised, but at this point I just wanted to be done with them. Fast forward a month and ALL the joints are peeling (like the actual concrete is coming off the lines) and we are starting to lose chunks of concrete where the joints meet. I'll add pics but all the shaded area that almost looks wet, it actually concrete flaking off of the lines. I again took pics and sent them to Pete and I told him at this point I want some of my money back. He said he'd get back to me, but 2 weeks have passed and I have yet to hear a word. I am pretty sure based on the way the patio is already falling apart, I will be having to pay for a new patio in less than a couple years and he obviously doesn't care given he has my money. The only reason I gave him 2 stars instead of 1 is that he did get the company to redo the patio one time, but at this point, I would let them build a concrete slab for a dog house, let alone allow them on my property again. If you are wanting any kind of concrete work, I would steer clear of Pete and this company. read more

Got 3 quotes from 3 companies. Our big back yard was full of just rocks! We wanted something for our boys to play & put up our above ground pool for the summer. We about gave up after ridiculously high quotes. It was hard enough even getting a company to want to help with a small project. We knew we couldn't afford to do our entire yard at once.
