Customer Service representatives Sheena and Shalonda responded immediately, and made what could have been a highly frustrating and negative experience very positive, and presented the face of a company that appreciates the value of solid customer service and what benefits that brings to the company. The damages to our 6-drawer dresser will be made whole thanks to the efforts of these two excellent representatives of Homemakers. With Younkers and Von Maur exiting the only anchor store left is JCPenney. And JCPenney isn't what it used to be... Every now and then Valley West Mall lands a gem like Blaze Pizza and recently European Taste that sticks, but for the most part it seems to be a dying environment. I don't feel the drive-in or carnivals are a good idea. It seems to bring problems to the area that those of us who live in the Clive West Des Moines area don't need. Personally I feel it's more trouble than it's worth. Some businesses may benefit from the people it brings to the West side. Valley West Mall doesn't have the quality of a food court that Merle Hay Mall does... Though foodie traffic would probably go a long way in bringing this mall back. While I now spend more time and money shopping at Jordan Creek and the Outlets in Altoona...I continue to shop at Valley West Mall when I can. I'm rooting for a comeback!

I was told they could only exchange them for the exact same product, but since that item wasn't in stock I'd have to contact the manufacturer myself. I wasn't asking for a refund, just an exchange or store credit for an item that was defective on day one. Most retailers stand behind the products they sell, especially when something fails immediately. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here, so I can't recommend shopping at a place that doesn't take responsibility for defective items.

In all seriousness, my parents' church just commissioned Dobson's 88th organ, and we happened to be in town, so we stopped in for a visit. One of their designers took over two hours out of his morning to show us around the workshop, from the voicing room to the woodshop to the pipe room to the drawing boards to the pipe shop. I was totally fascinated at every step of the way, from the technical details to his descriptions of the acoustical engineering involved to the utter craftsmanship that it takes to build these incredible instruments, the modern manifestation of an ancient art. I can hardly wait to hear the finished product.

When I checked out, the woman asked me if I was going to put the phone holder on my bike now. I said yes, so she followed me out with a screw driver. Ever since the pandemic, I have become a plant mama. I started with about four and am up to almost…read morea dozen (every time one needs to be repotted, I have to get another one for the smaller pot!). I've been to Art Terrarium twice now and love my new additions. They have a great selection of pet friendly plants (with the black ceramic kitty peeking out of the middle - he never ceases to make me jump!). There is also a nice selection of succulents (I have finally managed to keep most of the alive!). The women working there are very helpful, especially with repotting and care advice. Convenient location in the Highland Park neighborhood but parking can be a little challenging; I try and go during the week and usually manage to get street parking out front.
