Firepit Grille is located off of busy Airport Highway and situated high and further back from the busy street. If you're not looking for it, you could easily drive past it. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly wait staff and shown to our reserved table. The ambiance is upscale with dim lighting. We were there for a book club luncheon and the restaurant wasn't busy or noisy, which was perfect for us. The menu offered a nice variety of options. While the restaurant is known for barbecue and pizza, most of us ordered sandwiches and salads. Our server seemed to be very new, but was polite and pleasant. She was on top of drink refills, which was good because Coke and Iced Tea were $3.00. Funny thing but someone in our party ordered a gin and tonic and that also was $3.00. Our food orders were slow to come out and our server couldn't keep track of who ordered what, which wasn't a big deal since we were a group of approximately ten. Not all orders came out at once, so some were eating and some were waiting. I ordered a veggie burger with cheese and a side of ranch. When the plate came out, there was no cheese or ranch dressing. Our server took my plate back to the kitchen and I also requested a slice of tomato. I found the veggie burger very bland but edible. The fries were plentiful but I only ate a couple. Nobody raved about the food but I didn't hear any complaints either. A lot of our group took home leftovers. When the checks came, we learned that 22% gratuity had been added to each check because we were a large table. I also learned that the cheese for my veggie burger had an upcharge of .99 for the cheese and.50 for the ranch dressing. We enjoyed our discussion and socializing in a nice ambiance. I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Firepit Grille. My mother and I had reservations for two at 3:00 PM for Easter brunch and specifically requested a booth. Upon arrival, the already small lobby was completely overcrowded, to the point where there was barely room to move. It honestly felt like a fire hazard with people constantly trying to squeeze in and out. The only update we received from the hostess, Victoria, was that they were "backed up," delivered with a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. There was no organization, no guidance, and no effort to manage the situation or accommodate guests. To make matters worse, there was nowhere to wait except outside. When we asked if we would receive a text when our booth was ready, Victoria responded sarcastically, saying, "You think I can text all these numbers on this list? There's no way to do that." That level of unprofessionalism was completely unacceptable. After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time with no clear communication or plan, we decided to leave. The lack of organization, poor communication, and rude service made for a very off-putting experience--especially on a holiday. Now we're talking. Updating this review for Sunday brunch buffet. They have upped their game. They moved the hot food to an area that keeps the food hot and the buffet is self-serve. Nice friendly staff takes your drink orders and brings your coffee quickly. Unlike another Sunday brunch place here in town AKA manhattans where you have to hunt the server down. The Sunday brunch is $26 per person and it does not include a free mimosa like Manhattans but the food is so much better here. A nice array of breakfast foods as well as fried chicken mashed potatoes and to die for macaroni and cheese. I want to go back just for the macaroni and cheese. So your meal is going to be a little more than Manhattan's which is pretty much the only other place in town that does a Sunday brunch buffet but for me it was worth it for the hot food and flavorful dishes. Driving by to check out the Cameo Countertop retail location, we decided to give Firepit Grille a try. Restaurant / bar areas were very clean and well-kept. The outdoor bar area was deceptively large. I had the BBQ Brisket Idaho Baked Potato. The potato was large to say the least. It came with 3 or 4 chunks of BBQ Brisket. I was hoping for the brisket to be chopped making it easier to eat. In my opinion, the brisket was a bit tough / dry making the price of $16.95, seem a bit excessive. The Smokehouse Salad was ordered with beef and was served with pulled pork. It was still good, just not what was ordered. Cost $15.95. For dessert, we splurged and chose the Warm Bread Pudding. My Mom used to make bread pudding from time to time when we were growing up, so I had great expectations. It was sizeable portion, somewhat warmed, but this too seemed to be a bit on the dry side for my liking. I am guessing my Mom set the bar pretty high when it comes to Bread Pudding. Hot roast beef sandwich was fantastic the service was top notch and the entire place is really nice. It was my first time there and I was not expecting it to be what it was. I WILL be going back to this joint many more times because of the quality experience I had. I always like to ask to speak to the manager to see the reactions I get because wait staff always thinks its to complain. To my surprise the manager was a little woman with a broken arm I watched hustle around that place in top gear my entire meal. I told her she needed to slow down and let someone else do some work. She smiled and said "if only i could" after chatting for a minute with her I realized why my experience there was so satisfying. Well this was first and last visit! I had the bacon wrapped shrimp, the bacon was grisly and I had to pull it off to eat the shrimp the shrimp I could tell was frizen and it was barely warm inside the bacon and chewy. The Brussel sports were dried out and hard, the coke slaw was soggy and had very little taste, no crunch to it at all. After arriving at Firepit Grille at 12:15 and giving the concierge my name and reservation time of 12:30, she said she couldn't find our name. I said it was done on the phone at 11:30 on Tuesday and I have a text that I sent to my wife that same day verifying that I made Firepit Grille Easter brunch reservations for 12:30. The lady at the reservation desk said to us "sorry I can't help you"! I told her we drove 45 minutes to eat at our reserved time at 12:30. She told us is you want you can sit and wait and eventually we will call your name. 30 minutes later we thought we heard our name but the same lady said "no we DID NOT, wishful thinking on your part" At 1:15 we left with no employee saying "sorry for our screw up" Needless to say they lost two customers and we will pass this type of sorry customer service onto others so they know not to expect good service. I'll tease you with this lead in - I did not have a salad!!! For those who might follow me, I don't recall ever writing about a restaurant where I did not order a salad. I think once I ordered chicken at OG - but I had already reviewed that place when I suffered through a pathetic salad so I didn't write about the chicken. Anyways, I was meeting close friends from work who live all over Ohio. There were plans to go to Copper Moon afterwards so that's how we ended up here - convenient location. I could not do Copper Moon but still came for lunch. It was a Saturday but there were plenty of empty tables to pick from. There were 6 of us and we were seated right away. I ordered a Diet Coke and the waitress did a fantastic job of keeping refills coming. She was very sweet and did an excellent job overall. Fortunately, I had scoped out the menu online to see what salads were offered. I was rather shocked at the pricing of a basic salad with no protein. To add the protein put the sticker price at almost $20. While I love my friends, it wasn't worth it to drop that much on a simple lunch. I've had to do that too much recently during the week for business, so I looked for other options. While I am NOT a soup person, I was lucky they had chili. I normally avoid meat but I was OK with a bowl of chili which also had beans, tomatoes and I opted for onions and cheese - no sour cream. There serving was generous and flavorful. I could have gone with a lot more heat (temperature and spice), but it was just fine. Perfect for a chilly fall day. I almost always remember to grab a pic of my food, and often all food brought to the table, but the joy of being with these friends made me overlook the photo op. Would I eat here again? Probably not. I'd likely want to try something new and we only return to favorites. And being 2.5 hours away from home, it is highly unlikely I'll ever be back. Terrible service. Was seated and our server took ages to take our drink orders (Over 15-20 minutes) and the restaurant was pretty open. The drinks arrived relatively quickly and he rummaged up 4 menus and then we barely saw our server. Around 15 minutes later he came back to take our food orders and refill our drinks. Then for over an hour we sat with little interaction with the wait staff. We asked after an hour how long it would be and were told "3-4 minutes." Wish I could review the food but after waiting ten minutes more an almost 2 hour ordeal, we left after leaving money for our drinks. Also, I went to use the restroom and I witnessed a member of wait staff use the urinal and then proceed to retie his apron and leave without washing his hands. read more

My wife is petite and buffets are not a good value for her. When we arrived for our first visit ever on Fathers Day we were told they don't offer the regular menu. We agreed and noticed the buffet price was $5 more than the regular Sunday brunch. Then we get the bill and it's 22% service fee! When I asked the manager she said it was posted on the website, but I checked the website to see the buffet food list and didn't see one! The chicken used is smoked and has great flavor. The plate does need more chips and the dip to chip ratio is off. The chicken strip basket appetizer comes with plenty of chicken strips and we're pretty solid. The egg rolls were good and the sauce that comes with it was excellent. We got brisket, pulled pork and dark chicken. The sides were fries and Mac and cheese. Food took alittle to come out and surprised that we got mashed potatoes and no Mac and cheese. It's not on the menu every day, because they have rotating soups. The firecracker shrimp and the veggie cauliflower crust pizza are great too. On Tuesday my husband had the ribs and beef brisket and the brisket was delicious. Regarding the wait service, we kept asking to be seated in Josh's section because he's excellent! We had the pleasure of enjoying Firepits Father's Day buffet. I am not usually fond of buffets. This buffet was a delightful surprise . There wasn't one thing on the buffet that wasn't delicious. I love to cook and am great at it. so I am not interested in eating anything warmed from Sysco. This buffet was not a Sysco heat up. It was quality meats, salads and vegetables. I can't express what a delight it was to enjoy such a good meal from a buffet. The desserts left a little to be desired but we were full from our great meal so no biggie. It has been years since we dined at this restaurant. So sad as it is locally owned and close to home. My wife reluctantly met a friend here and liked it so I decided to give it another try. I was surprised as there was a huge improvement in food not only is it presented well, it taste great. The service also improved tremendously. At first I thought they had new owners and was floored that they were the same. I did revisit two other times to see if the change was a fluke. It wasn't. The meals and service were so much better. Our server Cory was so amazing, we had others who were the same. I tried the cheese curds. They were good, didn't care for the Latin sauce sauce. Buffalo Chicken was good, but need more chicken. I really enjoyed the smokiness of the chicken combined with the Buffalo cheese sauce. Next time I will ask if they can add more chicken. Their salads are great the crispy chicken salad, Caesar with grilled Salmon added, and the Cobb are all favorites. I haven't ventured to the entrees but will next time to update this review. Prices are high for the quality of food. Ordered zesty garlic wings, which were plain, not tossed in garlic sauce and overcooked. The sauce that accompanied the wings had too much cayenne and hardly a hint of garlic. Took my breath away at the first bite. Brought most of the order home. Gave half of them to the wife. She was not impressed. Had some garlic dressing in the fridge so added my own sauce. Also the ranch dressing they supplied was so thin and watery it barely coated a wing. My son ordered a pizza. He said it was ok, a little burnt but edible. They did provide a nice box for the rest of the pizza to take home. Nice enough furnishings, seemed clean. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Most of the patrons were older, late 60's and older. So not too rowdy. lol The only exciting area was the patio, where a couple of dogs were running around, jumping on tables and frolicking about. Did not try the buffet. Not at that price. Too much for my modest budget. If we do return to try another choice on the menu, I will bring along my puppy, and sit out on the patio.
