The meat selection is extensive and delicious! There is a discount for children based on age. There are three AYCE options and each one has a ton of options. Option C is all inclusive. On special holidays (ex Father's Day) you should definitely have a reservation. On weekdays and generally weekends it's busy but you'll be seated right away. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the AYCE. Meat was delicious. I really enjoyed the firepan steak, soy garlic bulgolgi, spicy bulgolgi, brisket, and thinly sliced pork belly. The steamed egg was very good. The tofu stew was decent, lacking some punching flavor but it wasn't bad. Ask for some sesame oil to go with the soy garlic sauce and it will be perfect for on everything! The place was spacious and housed a bunch of people if it was busy, it wouldn't be any problems. We got a few items for the meats and the steak was the best on the menu in my opinion. Met with a group of 8 for a dinner on Sunday night at Firepan; we heard this spot recently opened so we were excited to try the KBBQ. We had a reservation for 8pm and were seated immediately at 8 by their friendly staff - always a good sign there. However, we were seated at two 4- top tables with an aisle separating us. It was tough to enjoy dinner as a whole group and talk with everyone who was sitting (quite literally) at another table. The don't appear to have seating available for large groups. Odd seating arrangements aside, the interior is decorated well. A blue hue is cast throughout the interior which makes for cool lighting. The restaurant was incredibly clean and tidy - exactly what you'd expect from a new spot. Time to get to the food! There are two options for all you can eat KBBQ (both are on discount now for the soft opening special). One option was $27 and the other was $34 -- the higher option had 5ish additional meat options to choose from. Overall, I found the meats to be pretty underwhelming due to lack of seasoning and flavor. The two items that had the most flavor were the shrimp and the bulgogi (though the bulgogi was a bit too sweet for my liking). The ribeye steak was the best meat that my table enjoyed - adding their brown sauce and salt mixture to the steak made it a great bite. The portions of each round of meat are pretty large - at first I thought this was a good thing but it made trying various meats difficult. For example, I wanted the porkchop knowing my tablemates wouldn't eat very much of it and that left me ALOT of porkchop to eat. Yes, smaller portions means more orders/back and forth to tables but may help guests get more of what they like most. The waitstaff was very friendly, quick, and accommodating. One member of our party had some dietary restrictions; our waiter worked with us to properly prepare her food on clean grates and even charged her less for her meal since she wasn't able to indulge in the actual AYCE experience. Overall, a nice spot that has potential due to their nice new venue and awesome waitstaff. Hopefully preparation and flavor development of the meat improves overtime to help that final taste. read more

I was excited to see this place finally open! We came on a Friday night, so wasn't sure how busy it was. It seems like they still hadn't fully opened and are still in the "soft opening" mode. I'll admit the blue lights threw me off, the atmosphere felt a bit more like a club. We were seated right away and our server also came pretty quickly. The menu they said was a bit limited for now, so we ordered a couple different things. We got a pork and beef dish and both were pretty good! We weren't as knowledgeable as we hadn't been to a lot of Korean BBQ places before and our server was helpful in making sure everything was cooked right. One small thing was the plates, the way they were designed, they kept spinning around when you tried to pick up your food. We had a disappointing dinner at Firepan tonight. Although the Korean barbecue itself wasn't bad, the service was abysmal. We practically had to tackle the waiter to get him to bring us more meats for our at-table bbq grill. Nor were waters, rice or appetizers refilled. The poor service didn't stop them from adding a mandatory 20 percent gratuity to our bill. If you want authentic Korean barbecue skip this place and head straight to Annandale for Gogi Friends or one of the other restaurants there. In fact, the owner of this restaurant should force every one of his employees to go to Gogi Friends so they can learn how to provide good service. read more

My friends and I decided to go to their soft opening this past week. I visited their VA location a few years ago (also during their soft opening) and remembered it being okay. Their Silver Spring location was very spacious. The interior was decorated with blue neon lights. We went on a Wednesday evening and was quickly sat. We were impressed with their banchan. All the various kimchi dishes were delicious! They also had a salad which was eh; we didn't really end up eating it. We decided to opt for the Option B all you can eat menu. We started off with the brisket...which was extremely disappointing. The meat was so dry and rough. It was my least favorite of the night. We also ordered the belly beef rib, pork belly (okay as well), calamari, marinated shrimp, and rib eye. The favorite of the night was the belly beef rib. We also tried the olive steak which wasn't too bad. Onto more of the sides. The corn cheese..you guys we were so upset! The corn tasted a bit undercooked and lacked seasoning. Usually corn cheese has a bit of kewpie Mayo and butter. This was just cheese and bland corn. Do not recommend. The spicy tofu soup and the soybean paste soup were both part of the AYCE menu. Both of these just didn't taste right. The spicy tofu soup was heavy on chili oil and was watery. The soybean paste soup lacked soybean flavor and had a very fishy taste. We did enjoy the steamed egg though. I want to give the benefit of the doubt to our server since the restaurant was still pretty new. But it seemed like he lacked knowledge in cooking meats. Rather than letting it cook, our server kept moving the meats when it wasn't ready. Causing the meat to tear and break apart. We ended up just cooking the meat ourselves.
