Higher up this tier you encounter very expensive examples of single source or small batch offerings. These can be very expensive and not something for everyday consumption. Lindt hits that sweet spot( so to speak) of good everyday quality with interesting flavors and creamy melt in your mouth feel. This shop carries so many types of their truffles that I didn't even know which to try first. Good thing that they also have some pretty tasty sales on them. Along with pick your own truffles, they also have pick your own European candies. These looked very enticing and worthy of further research. Their barks were also a revelation, even the white chocolate with fruits and nuts tasted better than any white chocolate I've ever had. And we finally tried their frozen drink concoction that is not quite a shake, more like a liquified candy burst. I plan on doing more shopping here..... for Christmas gifts. Really. Ok, if a few wind up in my stocking, that's cool too.

One could argue that the ice cream market is positively saturated in Gloucester County. I can name, off the top of my head, at least 6 different ice cream spots within a 5 mile radius, and that's not counting chains like Ritas, or places that ALSO SERVE ice cream, like a Friendly's. There is just razor thin margins in the ice cream game here. That said, Spilt Milk is at least a solid contender in the Ice Cream Wars. The owner was a very pleasant man that chatted us up while we ate. They have a TON of flavors, and threw samples out like beads at Mardi Gras. They make their waffles right in front of you to order, and build the desserts in plain sight, with very organized ingredients. The building resides in a strip mall, and is small but spacious enough, and has good parking. Although due to a sign that was facing the WALL and not the clients, I didn't see that they have CREPES, I AM excited to try that the next time I'm passing through. They are good, but not good enough for me to drive past 6 other ice cream spots on my way over there, but if they are in your neck of the woods, definitely give them a try.

Let me start by saying I've been a patron of this establishment for years. The taste of the food is…read moreusually consistent with a couple of hiccups here and there. With that being said, two weeks ago I placed an order for 3 dozen creampuffs and scheduled a pick-up for 1:30p on Saturday (4/4). I arrived at 12:50p as I was in the area after traveling from Philly. Upon my arrival there was a line out the door and wrapped around the porch in 80 degree weather. Initially I bypassed the line thinking they must of been walk-in orders given that in the previous times I've placed orders they were always prepared with a slip stuck in the box(es) and you're in/out under 10-15mins. When I learned that everyone in line were customers that had placed orders, and were waiting to pick up, I took my place in line. During my 2.5+ hour wait myself (along with other customers) learned the following: 1. Napoleon's kept taking orders up until close the previous day (Fri. 4/3). That was shocking given that they usually stop taking orders days ahead of time. 2. They were giving some customers 50% off who were waiting since 11:30a but then giving other customers 10% off, and some were charged full price. At one point, a worker stood at the register and literally said "I'm just spit balling numbers here." 3. The staff at Napoleon's justified the hours long wait time because two staff members "called out." Here's my issue hence the low rating: While I am sympathetic to being short staffed, as a previous restaurant co-owner, being short staffed was not the problem today. The problem was disorganization and poor management. In my 2.5+ hour long wait I saw a staff member run in & out of the building several times taking people's names and original pick up time over and over again. How many times do you need to capture the same information? It was a waste of time. Secondly, nothing was prepped. Napoleon's took orders up until Friday yet they were in the process of baking cream puff shells, and making the filling the whole time I waited. None of it was prepped the night before or even the morning of. Thirdly, what they decided to charge the folks I waited with had no rhyme or reason. They gave one guy 50% off, another 10%, and then charged another full price. Either do it for all who waited, or don't do it at all. It's a slap in the face to people who spent valuable time in 80 degree weather to try and support your disorganized establishment. At 4:00p when my order was finally ALMOST ready, and I was told to pay full price, I raised this observation to the staff. I informed them my time, along with others, is valuable and the discount should be across the board. I was told "Ok, you can leave." I did exactly that. While the cream puffs are decent, they do not justify how the operation was mishandled and then the shitty customer service on top of it. It's simply the principle of it. I will never go back, and I encourage future patrons to not give it your time of day. You're simply a $ to the money hungry owner, and they do not care about customer satisfaction. You've been warned.

It was soooo sooooo good. I would have never thought about a shake as ai always get sundaes and I definitely would not have combined those flavors. What an amazing combination. While about an hour away, we will have no problem making that drive to enjoy that taste of pure heaven again. We will be back!
