We have been going here for years. It used to to be really good. We could go in order our subs and sit down and eat them with no problems whatsoever. The employees could speak and understand English. Customizations to the order was not big deal. And, the atmosphere was nice. We went there on 9/16/2026 around 3pm. We ordered our subs and ate them. No problems. We wanted to order more to take home for our kids. My youngest is autistic and has trouble eating big sandwiches. We ordered her a meatball sub but want the meatballs cut in half and lined up. It took 3 minutes to explain what we wanted to the hispanic employee taking the order because he couldn't understand English. Well, we get the sub, and all he did was slice the meat balls in half but left them together. The purpose was to make the sub smaller so she could eat it easily. I was feeling adventurous so I tried new sub, chicken Cedar Ranch. the sandwich was drowning in ranch dressing, everything from the cheese to what I think was chicken was a soggy mess. There was a single diner trying to complete his order and the lady was talking and talking and then she decided to help a DoorDash person and kept him waiting. The Hook and Ladder was fine - deceptively filling for a small. Turkey Bacon Ranch was decent too - just enough bacon for my liking. But that veggie sub was a sloppy mess. Wet and gross and oily and those canned mushrooms were downright bad. The hanging fireman gear and wall illustrations are a bit much. I received a gift card for Firehouse subs but I am on weight watchers so I picked up a salad. It was a good size salad but filled with iceberg lettuce which has almost no nutritional value. If you want a salad from a sub shop go to Subway where you have a lot more options. read more

My family eats here about every two weeks. Well, at least one of us does. Sometimes it'll be my husband when he needs to grab lunch. Sometimes it's myself while running kids all over the place. But, mostly, it's a family ordeal. The staff is usually quite pleasant when we go in to place the order. Typically, we try to use the app so that it isn't a fuss to grab food for 5 people. It's always appreciated when the staff seems to want to do their job, and be as helpful as possible. The food is great, too. Definitely an option for any kind of eater. We have the "picky" through the "eat anything" bunch. So, I never have to worry about someone not finding what they like. The pricing is quite high for what it is. That's the docked star for this. Took two of my kids to Firehouse Subs for lunch today. This was our first experience at this establishment. The subs were tasty. My son and I had the Hero Sub on wheat and my daughter had the BLT on white. While my daughter said that Subway has a better BLT, my son and I agreed that our subs were way better that Subway and Jimmy John's. Our visit was during the lunch rush and I was a little surprised that only one cashier was working. This cause the line to back up drastically. At one point the cashier asked someone, possibly her manager for assistance. Hands down the best subs in Winchester! I went during a Friday "lunch rush" and had to wait about 15 minutes in line. First with the only negative I have. Yes, it was busy and the restaurant had only been open for a out two weeks. Once they work the kinks out I'm sure wait times will go down. The positives. The restaurant has plenty of seating. I ordered a "medium" meatball sub with drinks chips. The sweet tea was delicious and was brewed in house. They also have a Coke Freestyle machine. Plenty of chip choices to choose from You get a number and they bring your sub to you when it's ready. The temperature of my meatball sub was spot on. The sauce they use is very delicious and has tons of flavor, same with the meatballs. I'm sure the meatballs are frozen but you definitely cannot tell. The meatballs are bursting with flavor and do not fall apart while eating. Also the meatballs are decent sized. Not small! Firehouse subs is a little "pricy" for a sub but you get what you pay for. Without any doubt, it was so delicious. everything was so fresh, right seasoning, saltiness and flavors. However, their lack of customer service needs to improve BIG. I decided on a sub from Firehouse recently. I ordered a large NY sub and took it home with me. Not something I'll repeat. The sun was totally SUBpar (pun intended). I couldn't for the life of me identify the meat that it had on it under the massive layer of hot melted cheese. It all tasted like absolute crap and the garbage is where the sub went. Overall I would think it would be a good sub from the pictures. Speaking as a food person who's been cooking for 10+ years presentation is everything. In the pictures they hit it very well, but the actual sub is nothing compared to what you see. Very thin bread almost to a point I'd consider it flat bread. Bottom bread was soggy from the pepper juice, which tells me that the don't strain your peppers in your hand for a couple seconds to get that extra juice off. Even if the held the peepers in a pinch over the container it wouldna been better. I won't make a purchase here again. read more

I am going to start this by saying we LOVE firehouse subs, we just moved to Winchester and was thrilled to see they were coming here. They are a new store open maybe a few weeks and hoping that this is new opening pains. When we walked in no welcome, they were busy but every Firehouse we've been in always welcomes patrons even if they are busy. When ordering we ordered exactly what was on the board, when we ordered the chopped Italian with grilled chicken salad the cashier looked at us with the deer in the headlights look. We waited 30 minutes, yes I said 39 minuets for our food, when we started eat we realized neither of us received the food we ordered. We went ahead and ate it as we did not want to wIt another 30 minutes. We hope this gets better, but will not be going back to this one anytime to soon. read more

Placed 2 orders online - 1 order was "not processed" but the money was taken from my account. second order was processed; so we called the store to have Larry put us on hold (basically left the phone on the counter) for over 15 minutes. So we proceeded to the store to not find our food and for Larry to tell us that the 3rd party system is down and they don't have any orders, yet I was holding the confirmation page with the order # and the order information in my hand. Showed it to Larry who showed his Assistant Manager (Didn't get her name and referring to me as a kid to his assistant manager. Buddy, I'm not a kid and thats profiling. Don't assume!) who told me "You did not pay Firehouse, you paid GrubHub" and so I need to contact GrubHub to get my refund. So when GRUBHUB PAYS THEM for my order # that was approved and money taken from the account - they can't offer to look at the order information to make the subs? NOPE! They want to argue why its not their problem. That's fine, and it's also theft and because I know the establishment has cameras; I will be contacting my lawyer to sue them for the theft and the misconduct. And use the "we were busy" excuse as to why Larry placed the phone down on the counter for 15 minutes and forgot about the person who had called. Considering, when I went to the location - there were 2 people making the sandwiches... Correction, there was a male making the orders while the female stood behind him twiddling her thumbs. This establishment is always slow and dirty. This is by far the WORST firehouse subs ever! No wonder I keep getting phone calls from Firemen and EMT's to donate! Very disappointed... We've eaten at Firehouse before, in other areas and usually they are fantastic. The wait here was terrible - and no apology! To top it all, the sandwich was a joke. The wife's grilled chicken had 2 strips of lettuce and whilst she ordered the small, it was a thin as a broom handle!! Mine was terrible... Just the meat on it!! I had asked for everything on it. This is my answer to the copy and paste answer that Firehouse subs gave me. You never think that saying your sorry would make things worse. But when they give you a generic copy and paste answer like that one, It really lets you know how much they do not care. Why even answer if this is what you are going say? Better to just leave it alone if you are not going to even try. If they were going to truly answer they should have offered a discount or free sub for ripping me off the first time. Or at least said something from the review that showed they actually read the review and not just pasted one of the many answers I am sure she has at her disposal. I really expected a little more from Firehouuse. But now that I know that they really dont care, I wont be back to any of their stores at anytime in the future. I am so sick of being a number to the large food establishments. More and more we look to try to find the mom and pop places to eat at. They usually care a little more than franchises. Customer service and making sure a disgruntled customer is taken care of or made whole in one way or the other is a thing of the past. We have another new shop in Winchesters named Macado's that is top notch!! Been there 5 or 6 times now and enjoyed every time so far. I have been to firehouse subs before but this one took the cake and threw it on the ground. What a disappointment! My wait time was 35 minutes to make my sub, it was soggy by the time it was made and got to me because of the congestion of orders. The staff did NOT know what was on the subs nor did they know what came with a combo meal to make sure I got what was included with my meal but I guess that's the customers responsibility after spending 11+ dollars for a sub? Then you had one register running for a line of twenty people, in which the girl running the register seemed to hate her job because her face said it all. My experience was crap, sad to say.
