Little deli off the beaten path so to speak. The inside was small and had a few tables. The food was ok. Then again I didn't get anything that might be considered their specialty. I got a cheesesteak. It was good but nothing to note and somewhat small for the amount of steak. I would go again and heres why: the green sauce. I've never had a green sauce like that. It was jalapeño based sauce but wasn't overly spicy. It was a light spice but so good. Go for the green sauce but get something more ethnic than the cheesesteak. I should have gotten a burrito or even asked what's popular. They do sell the green sauce to go, I got some and proceeded to eat some home cooking with it, really hit the spot. Trying to make a healthy choice, somehow that translated to a chicken burrito at Aroma. Yep, it was delicious but this is a huge burrito that's well stuffed with chicken, rice, black beans, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato and even corn. Catered for large lunch event-such generous portions and all my guests were excited to take a small bowl home too! Stopped on our way through because of ratings. Restaurant is in an old house but clean inside with a small seating area, also seating on porch outside. Had a good selection of food choices. Hubby had grilled chicken salad. Had fresh romaine and a good amount of chicken. I had Aroma's chicken taco salad. Good amount of fresh romaine with chunks of chicken, corn and tomato salsa and warm black beans. Good and filling. All served on takeout plates and plastic silverware. Everything here tastes absolutely amazing, and has been our goto for years. And as far as I can tell they still use their own delivery people instead of deffering to delivery services, so their service is top tier if you go in person or get for delvery! Tip well so they can keep it up please. 10/10 best place to get food if you live close to downtown! read more

We have been dinning at Aroma for years. Shock.. I've never giving their well deserved props. Tonight I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich. This is a new favorite. The pesto makes the sandwich. Plantains were perfectly cooked.. Super sweet and not starchy. My daughter had the rotisserie chicken with corn salsa.. She too stated how good the food was. Wife had the turkey BLT. She too was extremely happy with her sandwich.. Excellent food, good service and fantastic prices. read more

I got delivery while in town. Delivery fee was reasonable. My order was correct, earlier than expected and tasty. When it arrived, hot items were still warm and cold items were separate. It was only a salad with grilled chicken and some plantains, but it hit the spot. read more

Never having Peruvian food B4 we cautiously read the menu. The order taker was patient with us and describe the Mixed Bowl as beans, rice, beef, lettuce and cheese with corn salsa and chopped tomatoe salsa I took the 1/4 dark meat chicken with salad and fried plantains. This place is so good. I had to use the restroom although they don't accept public bathrooms, you have to walk a little far for the nearest restroom. They lady said I had to buy something in order to use the restroom, but that's okay! My mom and I went back and it was delish! Food pictures are on the wall just how they look served and it's fresh too. Will be coming back! read more

This is a new spot in what used to be a different sandwich shop. I've been to the previous delis here and I can tell you without a doubt this is the best thing to ever happen to this building! Its like a mix of coffee, deli sandwiches, tacos, salads and Peruvian chicken. Their tacos are similar to what you would get at a Chipotle, except I think the meat tasted even better. The homemade hot sauce is money. The best things is that each night of the week they have different deals, which repeat weekly. Like 0.99 cent tacos! Where else can you get a GOOD taco for that price!? Wow. I think thats on Mondays, I could be wrong about the day though, I gotta go back and check. All their prices looked really good for a modest lunch budget. They also deliver around downtown. I'll be coming back here often. Cool place and super friendly. Once again downtown Winchester moves up a notch, so many great new places coming to town. Bottom line, really great place for a quick breakfast, lunch or a dinner on the porch. I've heard good things about this place - I called the place, and the owner, Mr. Leivi Mazariegos, took my order for a Sausage Burrito. He said it would be ready in 20 minutes - I was so excited! The Sausage Burrito was hot and fresh, and it contained pieces of breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh hash browns, and melted cheddar cheese in a nice fresh large tortilla. Yum! Everything was well-seasoned, and it was a nice sized burrito for a great breakfast! It also came with a thick creamy yellow sauce (I believe the Peruvian aji sauce) that went well with the burrito. Mr. Leivi was extremely nice, very accommodating, and showed me the kitchen as well as the fresh ingredients that they use. He stated that the Aroma Deli has only been opened for 6 months - I would love to check out their other menu items, especially the carne asada platter and the lunch burritos that are also supposed to be quite popular. A great little hidden Peruvian gem in Winchester Va. On our visit we had the rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brassa) family meal with 3 sides. We opted for the rice, beans and french fries. A half chicken with flavorful sides for $10 -- what's there not to like? The cafe is set out from the walking mall a little, on Boscawen St., in an older Winchester house. Bright green colors and copper chickens make a cheerful atmosphere. Our server was friendly and service was speedy! My man Levi likes to make chicken. We had tacos and fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. I don't like chicken. But Levi was so passionate about his chicken. I tried some. And it was good. Really good the fries were crispy and well seasoned. The green hot sauce was amazing. Would eat here again. read more

Established in 2011.

We promise we will provide the best quality and tasty food everytime you visit us! Aroma Deli began in 2013. The Deli was born out of the passion for creating the classic recipes and flavors of a traditional deli served with lots of love and amazing hospitality. Currently serving good portions of homemade comfort foods, handcrafted sandwiches, and Peruvian Chicken, salads and baked goods. Aroma Deli also offers a catering menu packed with crowd-pleasing favorites for any size group.

Meet the Business Owner: Leivi M.

As with much of the menu, the chicken reflects Leivi Mazariegos Latin American heritage - he is originally from Guatemala -- with experience working in various Hispanic restaurants. But it also shows how he has tried to blend the tastes of Latin America with a more American-style menu. He opened the deli May 23, 2013 to have a place of his own and to be closer to home. Mazariegos came to the United States from Guatemala in 1998 when he was 16 and on a student visa. He has been working in Peruvian restaurants since that time. He tried working in construction, which made more money, but realized cooking was his passion. The last place he worked before opening Aroma was at The Pollo Factory in Sterling, a Peruvian restaurant that also serves rotisserie chicken. He liked the work but not the commute and wanted the challenge of owning his own business. "This is what I like," he said. "I really like cooking. I am happy to do this." His wife Claudia Sanchez often helps in the restaurant
