Service here is always friendly from the moment you walk in and hear the staff yell "welcome" every time someone walks in. It can get busy at lunch time on weekends, especially when church lets out. Was super hungry and really didn't feel like anything greasy or fried. Upon entering greeted by two friendly employees and I ordered a 6 inch club sub. Paid and was on my way within 10 minutes. We typically avoid chain sub shops, but Bert (whose name tag read "bert") completely changed our perspective with his great service. The shop was slammed, but Bert worked so hard to make everyone get what they wanted. From the moment we walked in, Bert was a standout. He greeted every customer with a genuine smile, cracked lighthearted jokes to ease the wait, and multitasked between taking orders, prepping food, and keeping the food prep area clean. Despite the chaos, he remained calm and attentive even remembering to ask about specific preferences (like my wife's gluten-free request). Unfortunately, the same can't be said for his coworker. I was blown away by how tasty my sandwich was. I had the hook and ladder warmed and it is the best sub I've ever eaten. Employees constantly yelling at each other, the place is never busy, it's time this place closes down, fires, re-hires, and trains a new staff. This place is dirty. It's abysmal. These are the type of idiots who want minimum wage to be $15 an hour but can't do the simplest tasks. Early lunch at the Firehouse Subs in Vero Beach, I decided upon the Nashville Hot Brisket sandwich combo meal. Janet was both cashier and server. The sandwich itself was a USDA Choice beef brisket that was - apparently - slow smoked for around 16 hours, along with a spicy Nashville Hot seasoning, sweet and tangy coleslaw, spicy pickle chips, mayo, and melted pepper jack cheese on a toasted cornbread roll. Bottled water and a cookie completed my combo meal. Sandwich was tasty and spicy hot as earlier advised by Janet when ordering. A bit pricy at $10 and change, but I would order it again. Location was clean and well taken care of. Janet was friendly and polite - no issues with service or attention to detail. Plenty of shopping center parking. William E. It was my first time going to eat there I had the turkey bacon ranch and I can honestly say it was so bomb and I would so have it again service was quick but quality was so good the toast on the bread was just right and they don't lack on the toppings well worth it way better than subway I had it around 7 it's now 8:40 and I'm still thinking about the sub that's how good it was next time I would so get the large I got the medium sub which is still a great size cuz I got full I would so recommend 100% my favorite sub place so far!!! There were only four customers in the store. We ordered a Hook and Ladder sub. It took 30 minutes to get it. With a 1 hour lunch period you have eliminated your restaurant as a reasonable option. Three talking among themselves and laughing. The other 3 complaining about making my sub. First guy, had to use the bathroom. Second guy, said he was going on break and the third guy said it was time for him to leave. At least 5 minutes go by and the sub was not even started. Just OUTRAGEOUS!! Not the first time I have encountered terrible service at this location but will definitely be the last. This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. To start, the subs are absolutely amazing. Would never tell my mom that the firehouse meatball sub is the best I've ever had. There is a large selection of chips and sodas. Today I used the rewards app and got my sub for free. In my opinion, the loyalty program is one of the easiest to use. Was so looking forward to my first visit. Very, very poorly managed. The cashier/clerk spent a lot of time dealing with a soda machine and the line was getting really long. Finally heard her say it would be 25 minutes as they were backed up - duh! Don't have the chock point of the process screwing around with the soda machine as the line backs up. Seemed a little shy on meat in subs. That was a change from previous experience last year. Not overly friendly either.

I need to admit it: I come here for the soda machine. The soda: Firehouse has a Coca Cola Freestyle machine which lets you take any base flavor of Coke product (diet or not) and add "flavor shots" to it--vanilla, orange, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, and others. They also have lemonade and limeade, increasing the number of delicious possibilities. The subs: The meat is very good--a good quality, a good amount--with the exception of the bacon, which is sad and chewy. The lettuce/tomato isn't the freshest, and their bread is pretty generic. They have a few interesting combinations but overall the sandwiches are on par with chains like Subway and Quiznos (but the prices are higher). The restaurant: Cleanliness really depends on how busy they are--we were here during Piper Tuesday lunch rush and none of the open tables had been cleaned. The actual sandwich-making is generally pretty slow, regardless of the line, so I wouldn't recommend eating in if you're on a schedule. They have several TVs which make the wait for the sandwich less boring. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but the Freestyle soda makes it worth at least one visit. read more
