Ordered delivery thru the app. Speedy delivery, should have known something was wrong. It was the wrong order. When I told the delivery guy that, he said he was sorry he did not speak good English but that was the order they gave him. The receipt clearly says someone else's name and I tried with my rudimentary Spanish speaking skills to let him know my name but it was a FAIL. The delivery was thru Uber, so maybe that was the problem. I tried to call the store but got the voicemail and it was full so I couldn't leave a message and didn't get a chance to speak with anyone. Decent location, lots of great free, parking and great product. This location is in a prime area of town. I stopped by recently to grab two subs around 5 PM. There was two ladies working and whenever I walked in, I wasn't properly greeted, however, one of the ladies that was on a ladder in the back of house yelled out. Am I here to pick up something. I generally told her no but I needed to place an order. She looked at me as if I just bothered her. Sad to say the service just went downhill after that. I had a gift card and tried to use it. I did not know the balance on the gift card. I asked if she could check the Balance for me and she quickly told me that I had to order my food first and then she could check the balance afterwards. Well, that doesn't make sense because I don't know exactly how much money I have to spend. There was another lady working and I'm assuming she was more on the management side. She came out the back and clicked a few buttons and got me the balance that I needed. If it wasn't for her, this review would be a total one star, but because she jumped in and was friendly I'll have to give a point for that. However, the ultimate Experience sucks for me because it started with the horrible greeting and the first lady who didn't want to help me. We haven't eaten here since the last bad experience, but tonight we were working and my wife picked up some salads and sandwiches. She got the steak and cheese as a salad and when she got back to the office she realized that neither the meat or the cheese was heated, which you would think it would be. She had to pick the beef and cheese off of the salad, heat it up and then put it back on, but it was good after that. Ok, this is my first time ever going to a firehouse subs. I have heard it advertised on the radio but have never been myself. The selection of subs is quite large. As far as sides and such there is nothing realy special except their hot sauce in a neat little hydrant looking bottle. I ordered the smokehouse beef brisket, medium with soda and chips. Chips are chips and the pickle wedge was limp but, did have a good taste. The soda was the awesome little drink mixer that let's you add vanilla and cherry to anything. Love them machines. i spent over $30 on two med subs and a footlong. I got all the way home and discovered mine was not correct. I drove back (30 mins round trip). I had it remade. My husband's sandwich was missing mustard. We discovered later his was also missing salami. it was too late to go back again. they charged me for an Italian and "86'd" the parts we didn't want on it. the order taker said it was cheaper. either the order taker or the sandwich maker didn't know what meats came on it. I paid for an Italian large and got only ham. it defines wasn't worth the money spent. I could have gone elsewhere cheaper. we will stick with subway. it is much closer and less expensive too. This is my favorite sub. I love that this store sells Miss Vickie's chips and not the usual Lays. It looks like they just updated their tables. It's always clean in here but these stores can tend to have an interesting smell that can be unsettling. It may be because of all the heated deli meat as the sandwich making area is open to the entire store. Oh Lawdy, its a Firehouse. I'd probably put Firehouse and Jimmy John's at the top of the sub heap in Raleigh. Then maybe Penn Station, Quiznos (which can be very hit or miss), Jersey Mikes, and lastly Subway. Firehouse, which is one of the most expensive, does ok on most things (bread is good but JJ's is better, Quiznos toasts better, Subway has more topping options [which may not be a good thing- how many variations on a soy oil based 'sauce' do we need?]) but Firehouse has hegemony over the realm hot subs. The Meatball is an awesome platform the way it is- or add some more cheese and pile on cherry pepper. Thats a spicy meatball. The Subway meatballs decanted out of a vacuum bag cant hold a candle to this sub. Small wonder poor Jared is wasting away. Likewise the NY Steamer (Corned beef, pastrami, provolone) Hook and Ladder (turkey/ham club) are the class of their division. The roast beef is good too if you are in the mood for hot. For a cold roast beef its hard to beat Jimmy John's Hunters Club. A rare miss is the Beef and Cheddar Brisket. Brisket isnt a cold cut for starters. Then it is coated with a regrettable barbeque sauce and the liquid cheddar sauce is best left un mentioned. There is no reason for this to be on the menu; its just a mockery of an actual brisket sandwich. Cold subs I havent gotten involved with, because why would you? They have a tuna and a "Momma's" chicken salad. Alrighty then... the Meatball and the Steam are right there, so not sure who is looking for chicken salad. There is also something called a "Light Menu"? once again not familiar..... Lastly, Firehouse has taken Quizno's pepper bar concept and expanded it out to an array of 25-30 different hot sauces you can avail yourself of. Very fun, and a great way to have legitimate sauce flavors (I am looking at you Subway with your 'creamy Sriracha') to add your (or your fellow dinner, when he isnt looking) sandwich. They have helpfully affixed a heat level sticker to the bottles to let you know how deep you are getting in. I'd remind them this isnt a Fire and Forget exercise- they need to police the hot sauce bar and reorder. They have been out of the Virgina Gentleman Bourbon Chipotle for two weeks now. I have been to several different Firehouse Subs over the years, this one pisses me off. I ordered online and set it to pick up in 30 minutes of when the order was placed. Set out to pick up the food and within 5 minutes of pickup time (same time I am pulling into the restaurant parking lot) I get a call and say they are almost out of Brisket and cannot make most of my order, would I like to substitute it for something else. I say no and get some what of an attitude because I don't want a different sandwich and an attitude because I want to cancel the whole order because two people in my party won't be able to eat, we ordered specific items for a reason. So I go in and ensure that they cancelled my order so that I won't be charged for something I am not getting. They tell me they will get more tomorrow if I want to come back, I think not as my friends and I are hanging out tonight, so I decline and leave. As I get back on the interstate and 10 minutes go by I get a call saying they just checked the fridge/freezer and they found brisket do I want to come back and wait and they will make my order, by now I am halfway home so I decline.
