On 3/31/2025 I placed an ordered two large subs at the Firehouse Subs in Prince Frederick, MD and paid for this in store restaurant order with my Discover credit card and received a receipt. I was given my order and was on the way out door when the restaurant manager told me that I had not paid for my order. I then told her that I had paid and showed her my paid receipt. She then informed me that I had paid for the wrong order (computer error). Then the female manger told me that she was refunding the $21.82 (wrong order). I was given a receipt that indicated that it was a refund and then charged the correct amount $29.00 for my order. Today I checked my Discover account and found two charges for $21.82 and not a refund. Today 4/3/2025 I printed the documentation and showed the restaurant manager, but she still did not understand and offered no compensation. The end result is, I was accused on not paying for my order and then charged twice for an order I did not place. Today 4/3 I also a wasted trip into the restaurant to show the documentation to the female manager. read more

I am a 3- time a week patron. Today I go in to order and apparently they had a surprise bus of people that wanted food. Usually a catering order is done ahead of time and extra people are brought in to accommodate. But this was a surprise order so the staff was telling regular patrons that they would have to wait an hour for an order while they filled this last minute rare order. This is poor judgement by a manager. Regular orders should be filled and the large unexpected order should wait in between regular customer orders. I've ordered from firehouse to go subs several times. Problem I have is by the time I get to my home which is 10 minutes away these steamed subs make the bread cold soggy and gummy and just totally turns me off to eating them. Honestly they finally need to find another way to heat the subs and offer that as an option because It seems like the staff does not know how to drain the meat properly so that sub is not a sopy wet mess read more

We've been coming here since 2020, and always have mediocre expectations - certainly not serious enough to write a negative review. While the employees are always friendly (hence two stars) my order is rarely correct. Tonight my sub was on white bread instead of wheat, which I ordered and my salad was not a house salad, but one with chicken, which I don't eat. On the plus side, I ordered two cookies and they put three in the bag. While I appreciate some mistakes, I'd really prefer getting what was ordered. Quality control is missing. read more

What rock have I been living under? It took me to go to a different county and attend a local winery to finally try Firehouse Subs and I'm left to say, WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO TRY THESE SUBS?! We stopped here to grab some food for our winery outing and it was a wise move on our part! Created by a couple of firefighters, Firehouse Subs pushes the envelope on the normal way we've come to learn about eating subs. The meats and cheeses are steamed prior to serving it up on your toasted bread. One of the people in my party requested sautéed onions, and she received sautéed onions. Can you get that from other sub shops? Me thinks not! I tried the Club on a Sub and it was jam packed with flavor and meats! Besides all of the normal toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon, the sub had a welcomed unfamiliar sweetness to it. It was simply delicious. All of the hot subs can also be served cold...just a little side note for y'all. Plus, it was served with a pickle. Other than sandwiches, they offer salads, chili, mac and cheese, and soups. The decor in the restaurant itself is set up to resemble an actual firehouse. Pretty obvious move on the owner's behalf. They even have a condiment station with every hot sauce you could imagine. So today around 3:00pm I went to the firehouse subs across the bridge in st.Mary's who owns the same store in Prince Fredrick, and I was appalled. I went out to eat with my grandma and while I was in the bathroom, a coworker was coming in for his shift and the manager (Matt) said "oh you finally showed up on time for once." And the coworker responded saying "F**k you" in front of my grandma and any other customers. I often eat at Firehouse subs in Lexington Park, but I work in Prince Frederick now and decided to pop over there. They weren't very busy, but there was only one girl behind the counter, with a trainee. She was amazing, friendly, patient, kind. She was taking orders, making food, trying to show the new guy what to do, messed with the soda machine, etc. I waited for about 15minutes before she was able to take my order, but I was okay with it because I was watching how much she was doing. Ordered the Italian sub, delicious like always. Tipped $20 for her amazing service. I didn't want to make my own lunch so it was nice having it made for me. If Firehouse actual reads these reviews Katia at the Prince Frederick, MD location needs a raise and/or some recognition for her pleasant attitude and amazing work ethic. read more

I came into the store at 8:37pm. The staff was visibly frustrated I walked in the door. The store was just about cleaned up and ready to close. (23m before close) When I went to order I was told I can only purchase cold subs. I purchased (1) cold sub. The bread was soggy and the the sandwich was thrown together. I understand wanting to get home early and having everything pre cleaned. I do not understand why you can only order a portion of the menu during business hours, or the side of attitude. read more

It seems like no matter what I do I will never get a firehouse sub that I actually enjoy. No matter how many times I say no mayo my sandwich arrives with the bottom bun soaked in so much mayo the I can't wipe it off the sandwich without carving off half of the bottom bun. The last two that I ordered not only came with mayo but they left off the other dressings. Adding toppings? 50/50 whether you get them. Removing toppings? 50/50 whether you get them. Did a take out order on line. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly, etc. On the positive, the two steak and cheese subs were loaded with, well...steak and cheese. On the negative, both were ordered without mayo, and one was without mayo. The other had mayo. Not just a little, but looked like extra mayo and made most of the sandwich inedible. Disappointing, since it looked good. If I go back, I will order in person vs on-line....though there are a lot of other "sub" choices in the area to choose from. read more

The only thing going for this place is the friendly employees. I ordered a steak & cheese and was extremely disappointed. The majority of the sub was greasy bread with next to nothing for cheese (after ordering extra) and the amount of meat could have easily fit onto a small size... not what I expected when ordering a large. This was the worst Firehouse experience I've had. I walked up to the counter and ordered the same sandwich I've ordered for years: large veggie without sauteed veggies, mayo, mustard and add extra dressing. As soon as I said "without sauteed," the lady taking my order, Emily, said, "No sauteed? So...you just want a cheese sandwich?" I said, "No, I want a veggie without the sauteed." She was like, "Just cheese?" And I said, "No, it comes with onions, lettuce, tomato, and dressing." She kept arguing with me for a minute or two, consulted another person making sandwiches, and said, "I'm going to give you a kid's grilled cheese on a large roll--it will be cheaper." I saw how useless it was to argue more, so I said fine, but I want extra dressing. She said, "Dressing? What dressing? The veggie doesn't come with dressing. Only two sandwiches [and she told me which two] come with dressing." After another couple minutes arguing about that, I finally said, "Okay, whatever. I'll pay for you to put dressing on it." Then waited over 20 minutes for food. Turns out, they were completing a catering order. The least they could have done was to say at ordering that it would be a little wait--then I could decide to stay or leave. Food finally arrived. It was an untoasted cheese sandwich with mustard and no dressing. And no pickle. I just ate it instead of commenting, because I shouldn't have to put forth so much effort to get a correct sandwich. I told her many times how I wanted the sandwich, but she kept cutting me off, wrapped up in her idea of the sandwich she wanted to give me instead. She was actually arguing with me because she thought she knew better. Here are the veggie ingredients from the menu: "Sauteed bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed and raw onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo, deli mustard, Italian dressing, provolone, cheddar, and Monterey Jack." Look--dressing! I don't care if it would have cost me more: I wanted the sandwich I ordered. Might help if the staff knew the menu better. I'm so glad we don't live in this area of MD. The location is great, easily accessible in the shopping center. They offer a small, but comfortable (covered) outdoor eating area. The inside is large and clean, with everything dedicated to our service members. The staff is great, always quick to greet us and prepare our food while remaining friendly and engaging. This place is my favorite sub shop! Decorated like a fire house (obviously) but super cute. They can do mods and substitutions. I absolutely LOVE this location. The staff is super friendly and always make sure my family and I have everything we need before we leave. My kids and I came in on Sunday evening 6/26, there were 2 girls behind the counter who seemed to be very busy. Brittney and Bobbi I think, but these girls were so nice. They had online orders to get out but put my family and I first which was awesome. The kids and I were able to eat outside with the weather being nice and even so these girls got our food together and carried it out to us. I would give negative stars if I could. This place is a JOKE. I called in a delivery. The girl acted too busy to talk on the phone so I held on until the manager answered and she had no idea I had already placed an order. So I give my card info and she says okay 45 mins. 10 mins later I realize they never got my address. So I call back for 20 mins getting voicemail every time. Finally someone answers and said she didn't see an order for me. So she finally finds it and SAYS "their finishing up my order it'll be there shortly" OVER AN HOUR LATER I call back and she said it was just now leaving the store. The good got to me and it was STONE COLD. Disgusting. I couldn't even eat it. I am so disappointed and WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. Horrible customer service. read more

What a great addition to our area. We went on a Saturday about 1, pretty busy but quick service. We tried Hook and Ladder, Italian and Steak and cheese. All were very good and a medium was plenty for lunch. Staff was friendly and kept tables clean and trays put away. Called me back as promised and told that they just received the order via GrubHub. Two different stories, just didn't do their job and caused a customer and family to wait two hours for nothing. We checked out this place after spending a relaxing morning searching for shark teeth at Calvert cliffs state park. Hungry and tired, we walked in and were greeted by every single one of the staff members on duty. We ordered a large meatball sub for the both of us and it hit the spot! The food is good and the service started out great, but there has been a decline. We tried to call in an order and we were left on hold for 8 minutes and 37 seconds before someone picked up and then hung up. We figured they might be busy, we were already at the light to turn (on the road our way home), so we turned to go and order at the counter. We walked in to find one person eating while the staff was just standing around doing nothing. I highly doubt they were slammed and then emptied out within a minute it took for us to get there. This is the best Firehouse we've been to yet. The staff was attentive and courteous, and both of our sandwiches were great. I really appreciated the calorie count displayed on all the food options.
