a close up of a sub sandwich
    Von W.

Mmm, mmm, mmm. Wait, let me wipe my mouth. I just finished a philly steak and cheese sub. Finger-lickin', lip-smackin' good. I don't think I've ever tried the steak and cheese. I normally get their brisket sandwiches, whether the regular menu item or some limited-time version. I've also had the chicken, I think. It's a sandwich my wife normally gets. The steak and cheese sandwich had such a great flavor. I'm not sure if it was the brand of mayo or the combination of the mayo and peppers. And then the steak was chopped up nicely. I didn't have struggle with the meat. Anyway, I stopped in to redeem a b-day reward and boy, was I rewarded. My wife took a bite while it was warm and said it was delicious. I had to make a few more stops--Big EZ Seafood, Chipotle, Haydel's, Cupcake Factory--before I could sit and enjoy it. Yes, it was cold by that time and I put it in the microwave for a few seconds, but it was just as good as when I took my first bite earlier in the day. Service was good, but the wait was typical. Firehouse tends to be slower than other quick service restaurants, but it was worth the wait. Give me this over Subway any day. Subway who?

    Veggie sub!

YUMMMMMYYYYYYY!!! I ordered the veggie sub because I'm trying the trying this plant based lifestyle, and it was pretty filling. The veggies were cooked before placed on the sub, so I enjoyed every bite. There's a parking lot in front of the restaurant, so you won't have trouble finding a place to Park your car. I also love how they have firefighters' gear hanging up inside the restaurant. The decorations are cute! Unlike most sub places, you can't see the ingredients as the sandwiches are made.

Well let's just say I was super excited that a Firehouse Subs was opened near my residence! I couldn't wait to visit! This place always have people that are very bubbly! I was welcomed of course as soon as my hand touched the door. This organization works as a well oiled machine! The best part of this place is the fact that your sub is handcrafted and served warm!!! Yum!! It's is not anything like the traditional NOLA poboy but oh my is it a flavor explosion on your tongue! The ingredients are so fresh the tears begin to roll when you smell the veggies on the warm bread! I had the special which was a medium honey ham dressed partially involved without the onions... the only reason I didn't get the onions is because I am not a fan of white onions raw other than that I would have had those little igniters of tears all over that bad boy!!! I sat and ate at the Resturant there were a few people there but the store was super clean and neat! I will be back sooner than I should!

Nice little addition to the city of Algiers. Very friendly staff all of which greets you as you walk in. Well staffed and not to mention, fast workers! I didn't wait no longer than 3-4 minutes and I received my order freshly made, straight to the table I was sitting at. That is great because they provide you with numbers so they can bring your order to you instead of getting up. I kept it simple and ordered the Club on a Sub with a bowl of baked potato soup. They both were very delicious and my soup came out steaming hot with a side of oyster crackers. I was offered the option of replacing my chips for a soup for the combo which also includes a drink with free refills when dining in. Overall, the staff kept this restaurant nice and tidy with a good, constant flow of customers throughout. I would definitely visit this location again to enjoy the pleasant hospitality and good sandwiches they offer!

    Fire House subs... yum :)

Many people say fire fighters spend most of their shift sleeping. During one of those glorious slumber sessions they dreampt up the perfect way to save us all from the monotony of cities littered with thousands of green and yellow Subway Sandwich Shops. There is something special about Firehouse subs. There is definitely more love per bite than your typical lackluster subway sandwich or greasy fast food quick fix. Whats even better is that you are supporting local first responders with every bite, so no need for it to be a guilty pleasure, it is a righteous cause. Many of the sandwiches are hot (duh, made by fire fighters) and they do not disappoint. A coke freestyle machine is available for almost limitless flavors to choose from to put out the fires on your plate should you choose to order your sandwich fully involved. It did take a bit over 10 minutes from order time to when the sandwich was received,  but that can be forgiven,  the firefighters still may have been a little bit sleepy.

Oh my God so delicious. So tasty. So affordable. A wonderful place to get soup, sandwich, dessert, chips or macaroni and cheese. Give it a try today.

Eat With Extreme Caution!…read more I am formally reporting a serious incident involving Jersey Mike's location at 1801 Manhattan Blvd, Harvey, LA. On November 22, 2025, I purchased a sub, chips, and a drink from this location. While eating my sandwich, I suddenly bit down on a large, sharp object that appeared to be a piece of wood. The object injured my front left tooth and punctured the roof of my mouth, causing immediate pain and distress. This is a serious food safety issue. I have preserved the object, the remaining food, the packaging, and the receipt, and I also have clear photo evidence. Due to the pain and injury caused by the wood, I had to undergo medical and dental evaluations. The following day, I returned to the store to speak with the manager, Michael Johnston, and requested that an official incident report be filed. The employee on duty, Branden Cortez, told me there was "no way to file a report" and that the manager was not there. He offered me a free meal replacement or voucher, which I declined. Branden took the wood fragment to the back and returned with it washed off, saying he took photos for himself. He asked if he could keep the object, but I declined since it is evidence. He stated he would pass the information to the store owner/manager, Michael Johnston, and that the manager would contact me. I actually had to ask Branden to write down my name and phone number, as my contact information had not been collected up to that point. I returned to the store the next day again to speak with the manager. At first, I was told he had already left, but when he heard I was there, he returned. While I waited, my personal contact information was left sitting on a random table where anyone could see it, which I found very unprofessional. When I finally spoke with Michael Johnston, he said he did not know how wood could have gotten into my sandwich. I don't know either--that is exactly why this situation should be taken seriously. During the conversation, he mentioned that he worked in construction, though I'm not sure why that was relevant. He took multiple photos with his personal phone and told me he would contact his insurance representative and get back to me. It has now been four months, and I have not heard anything from Michael Johnston. This is extremely disappointing because I was a regular customer at this location, and the staff knew me by name. What's even more unfortunate is that this situation could have been handled simply through clear communication and professionalism, but that has not happened. This incident could have turned out much worse. It could have happened to an elderly person or a young child, but it happened to me--and it still has not been properly addressed. I have medical records, medication, and photographic evidence documenting the injuries and the object. Please be careful when eating at this location. Michael Johnston, if you are reading this, I am asking you as a responsible adult and business owner to please contact me regarding this matter.

And being next to one of the best international markets in Greater New Orleans? Yeah... it's a whole experience. I started coming here about 7 years ago, and my go-to back then was the Vietnamese coffee with boba jelly. Fell in love instantly. Then one day I wanted to switch it up, and the owner--who I've seen consistently since day one--put me on to honeydew with watermelon and condensed milk. BABY... that became my order for a whole year. So this visit, I came in on the same type of timing, wanting something new. And just like that, she recommended strawberry with coconut. Let me tell you... she knows BALL. The flavor is creamy, smooth, and gives strawberry Blue Bell ice cream vibes in the best way. Their boba is always consistent. Texture on point, flavors on point. Never a miss. They also have bánh mì--basically a Vietnamese po-boy--and I'm almost certain the bread is from Dong Phuong. If you know, you know. I usually get the roasted sweet pork with extra pâté because that pâté? Chef's kiss every single time. Random memory but I remember catching them at NOLA Night Market years ago and that lemongrass chicken had my husband hooked. I'm still waiting on that comeback! They went fully takeout after COVID and are on DoorDash, but I noticed the boba teas aren't listed. Honestly, I get it... they don't hold up the same sitting around. Staff is always kind, service is smooth, and the quality never slipped in all these years. This is a no-brainer for me. I'll always come back--and I'm always trying something new. I always recommend the Banana with Matcha

Lots cilantro and jalapeño it's a really good sandwich. Overall, I recommend if you haven't tried one might as well try Mr. bubbles. We have about six sandwich options. A lot of drinks even a veggie option with avocado so I don't think you can go wrong. Take a little trip to the taste of Vietnam. Try Mr. bubbles you'll be happy you did if not it was a good adventure. The service was fast and friendly, and the ambience was your typical sandwich shop with a little bit of Asian flair. Don't forget to stop by Hong Kong market while you're there it's an adventure in its own.

I placed an order about 10:20pm via GrubHub. After receiving a notification via GrubHub that my order was being made and in process, I was happy I would be having a po' boy and fries in 30 minutes. Well....20-30 minutes go by and I get an update saying my order is delayed 15 minutes. Ok...thats fine. Still satisfied that with my limited options this late in this night that I will be getting food. 10 minutes later, I get a text saying my order has been canceled. Frustration ensues... I debate. Just let it go? Or call the restaurant directly. I call the restaurant. A pleasant gentleman answers. I explain my order and cancellation notice. He says my first name without prompting and explains that Grub Hub did not assign a driver and he cancelled the order. Before my objection, however, he asks where I am and clarifies that I am at a very near hotel. He, the owner, confirms my location and room number and says he can make my order in 5 minutes and deliver within 15. I was elated. I go downstairs to the hotel lobby to wait and within less than 15 minutes he arrives with a bag of hot food that I ordered. This is customer service of perfection. When he arrives I pulled out cash for a tip and he refused to accept it and apologized for Grub Hub screwing things up before I could even have cash to give him. The food....it was great. The bread of the po'boy was crispy on the outside and chewy inside. Fresh shrimp was flavorful and lightly breaded. The cheese fries are indeed world famous. This wasn't just a "food was great" review. But the above and beyond service was as good as the food. If you have read this review this far, just order food from Parkside Tavern. Please. You will not regret it.

Said it would be ready in 10 minutes and it was. The food was as good as I remembered. The French bread must be Leidenheimer's. It's the best. Parkside is smoky and it's decor leaves something to be desired. Mostly frequented by friendly locals who have been going to Parkside forever.
