It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I thought Southern's was pretty good overall. The menu offers some unique options, including…read morecreative chicken sandwiches and a few Asian-inspired fusion dishes that go beyond traditional Southern cuisine. I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

I finally decided to give this place a try after years of stalling lol. I ordered 3 burgers, fries,…read morecheese sauces, and a cookies and cream milkshake. First and foremost, the service was just OK. The man at the window didn't seem too interested in being of service, but everyone has their days or moments, I guess. The actual burgers were okay. I don't think they're anything to run back to. The bun was nice and soft. The meat was grilled nicely; however, I was expecting it to have more flavor and moistness. It wasn't completely dry; rather, a bit dehydrated, if you will. The fries were pretty good. The cheese sauce is on the thicker side, but really flavorful with a slight kick. I enjoyed it! The star of the show was the milkshake! It is arguably one of the best fast food milkshakes, in my opinion. It's thick, creamy, and the actual vanilla is near perfect. Overall, I'll probably stick to regular ole castle burgers. I will return whenever I crave a milkshake!

Up until today the craziest thing I ever overheard at a restaurant while waiting for take out was…read more"we don't have straws... they cost money". I think this long standing record was beaten today. No salt! At a place that serves burgers and fries! Haha! You literally can't make that up. If it were in a book it would be considered too amateurish and outlandish. When asked how they season their food the response was "they come preseasoned" I can't imagine spending hundreds of thousands of dollars standing up a place like this only to fumble so hard on something so insignificantly inexpensive. If they don't care enough to provide basic condiments, what else don't they care about? Also the food was ho hum. In a city world famous for its seasonings and its food in general. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll do just fine without us.
