I have been to various Firehouse subs throughout the country. Usually known for cleanliness and good customer service. This location felt foreign to me. I didn't hold it against them for being out of turkey, peppers and several basic items. I do hold it against them for being the dirtiest Firehouse sub I have ever been. The floors were disgusting, trash on counters and tables, the bathrooms were a possible crime scene. I was afraid of slipping due to how greasy the floors were. This experience has made me take Firehouse subs off my go to places for sub sandwiches. 4 staff members behind the counter and no one was able to clean, wow!

What a great service at this firehouse subs in mcdonough on Exit 218, while returning from our trip we took this exit to have lunch with family. firehouse has wide variety of sub sandwiches, you will sure love their hook & ladder sub. not so busy, clean restaurant with quick and very attentive cashier and staff. they accommodate all of your request and make sure that you get it right, they supports first responder and have quality food. sure to visit.

    Jamaican Jerk Turkey

This place is simply delicious. Try it yourself, Their hot sub sandwiches with toasted bun and melted cheese is super delicious. their Jamaican jerk turkey sub with extra seasoning and sweet mustard sauce with jalapeno and you will not regret. This place is like hidden gem in McDonough. Super good...

The cashier was rude and impatient, his name was Robert (according to the receipt). Our sandwiches were good though. They were made quickly and were put together well. Firehouse is pricey but the sandwich quality is good and you get your monies worth. For a medium Club Sub and a large Club Sub our total was $16.78 SN: the to go containers are durable. My sandwich didn't flinch a bit on the drive home.

    Turkey Bacon Ranch

Great place to have your dinner. They are open till 9 when all the chain restaurants around are closed. quite and clean place. Sandwiches are FULLY LOADED with meat and cheese. Try their turkey bacon ranch. Super delicious.

What a pleasant surprise to have everything I ordered in my bag. I absolutely love Firehouse but the last time I placed my order, I also ordered an extra pickle and I ended up with NO PICKLE AT ALL. Of course I didn't know until I got home and the store closed but what a disappointment. Well, this time they got my order right but I was afraid to ask for extra pickles in fear of getting none at all. Lol

The last 3 times I ordered food from Firehouse Store# 309 I've been disappointed with the taste and freshness of my food all 3 times. I think today finally did it for me. Today I decided to order a full size tuna sub, figuring that if I ordered something that is out of the scope of what I would generally get I'll probably have a decent sub this time around along with 2 oatmeal cookies. I started with a bite of my cookie, immediately you can taste the staleness and crumbliness of it. As for my sub, the tuna was watery/runny with no type of flavor, but it did have a hint of sweetness... where did that come from, I have no idea and it didn't make the sub taste any better. The bun was hard and dry, I tried going home to doctor up my sub... unfortunately nothing I tried could fix it. I don't think I'll be visiting firehouse any time soon or in the near future due to these back to back experiences and spending a good amount of money on food for me and my family and it ends up going to waste because the food nasty. Within the span of 3 months I've wasted over 100.00 at Firehouse and my family and I didn't find the food to be enjoyable. Don't get me wrong this location is my home store and I've visited other Firehouse restaurants as well to order food and I have always been a satisfied customer with very high reviews to give. I've probably ordered from Firehouse over 70 times in 6 months and these last 3 times really put a foul taste in my mouth about the quality of their food. Just DISGUSTING!! ***UPDATE*** I wrote the review above about a month ago, everything in my review is true and accurate. However, today this is the email I received from Yelp regarding my review: Message from Yelp HQ: 10065110 Hello, We're reaching out to let you know that our moderators removed the review you posted to Firehouse Subs because it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this location. Regards, Yelp Support San Francisco, California ref:_00D6guJNS._5006gENZrE:ref My response to your email: My review was removed because it didn't look like my content depicted an experience I experienced at one of their locations... I'm not sure how you can better depict my experience at a firehouse location. The store number included in my review is CORRECT, that is the store number I copied off my receipt from my order. What I experienced and everything I described in my review was VERY REAL. At this point, I'm not sure who you work for, I can't wrap my head around you sending me an email to invalidate my experience. So instead of you asking me for the address to the Firehouse in question to make sure the store number is correct, you instead chose to remove my review and send me an email saying "We're reaching out to let you know that our moderators removed the review you posted to Firehouse Subs because it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this location." Well since I didn't know where I was and or my feelings were not mine per you and whatever Yelp standards are, can you please tell me what Firehouse restaurant I was in and also tell me how I felt that day.  Thank you very much. I copied the store information to this email, at the very top you will see the same store number I used in my review.

The wife had the bacon cheddar melt meal and I had the 2 scoops and 1 side. We added one drink to share. Total was $28.26 and more than enough food. I had to help her finish hers. Hehe. The scoops I got were the jalapeño holly and kickin Kay. Both were phenomenal. The beverage machine was nice and clean also. I can't speak for the restroom as I didn't have to go. Needless to say we will be a returning customer. Keep up the great work!

Their website is great, as you can place your order online and pick it up a short time later. Not wanting fast food, nor a sit-down restaurant, I came across Chicken salad chick. It was a great compromise to traditional fast food. Honestly, these are my favorite daily types of restaurants. I was able to order my sandwich online, customize it with a side, and pick it up fairly quickly. They have an area to pick up your online order, so you don't have to wait in the order line. This area of McDonough gets so congested and even though there are many food options, this restaurant does not disappoint. You can sit down here and have a wonderful relaxing lunch in the colorful restaurant. The sandwich I chose was the Fancy Nancy, and was very tasty. the cranberries, apples, grapes and pecans were a great mixture to the chicken salad. This was not a regular traditional chicken salad sandwich, as it has a lot of chicken in there, which helps to fill you up. I also added a cup of their loaded Potato soup which was amazing! The best part of my meal was that it came with a mini buttercream frosted cookie! That was such a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to trying more of their food options in the future.

Welcome back to the table…read more I find that most people dismiss rotisserie chicken as "basic," but finding one that is actually seasoned through to the bone is harder than it should be. I stopped by the Cowboy Chicken in McDonough looking for something reliable, and it delivered that specific, wood-fired comfort that's hard to replicate at home. The vibe is laid-back and rustic exactly what you'd expect from a spot centered around an open flame. The Spread We didn't hold back on the order, covering everything from the signature rotisserie to the brisket and bowls. The Signature Chicken: They use a dry rub and slow-roast the meat over real wood. The result is a juicy, tender interior with skin that carries a slight, salty crispness. What stood out most was the flavor penetration; the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface. Unlike many rotisserie spots where the center feels neglected or underdone, this was consistent throughout. It holds its own without needing sauce. The Sides: The Spanish Rice surprised me. Fluffy, well-seasoned, shelly in texture, and the addition of corn gave it a nice sweetness. The Mac and Cheese was a bit of a curveball; it's more on the liquid, saucy side, but the flavor builds on you the more you eat. The fries were perfect and held a solid crisp even after sitting for a bit. We ended up getting a second basket of Fries because the crunch held up beautifully, even as they cooled down. The Coleslaw will be a hit or miss for some, we had mixed reviews. The shredded cabbage was thicker than normal but the other half of the table it was perfect. Tinga Bowl ($14.00): If you want something that feels a bit lighter but still packs a punch, this is it. The shredded chicken has a balanced kick, paired with corn relish, black beans, and a sprinkle of "Cowboy Dust" for heat. It's refreshing but filling. Layered with rice, beans, corn relish, avocado, crema it all balances out. Not heavy, but still satisfying. Brisket Sandwich (13.75: The bread was lightly toasted, cradling pulled brisket that was smoky and not juicy because we needed sauce for it but the flavor was there. Crispy Tenders ($13.25): These were a table favorite. They nailed the external crunch without sacrificing the moisture of the chicken inside.Crunch on the outside, seasoned all the way through, and still tender inside. The Sweet Finish I'm officially a fan of their Texas Peach Cobbler. It leans more cake-like than soupy, which I prefer. It tasted fresh, warm and held its structure, making it a solid closer for a heavy meal. Service & Value The moment we walked in, the staff offered a genuine verbal welcome. The service was efficient, and the restaurant maintained a clean, organized look despite the steady flow of customers. At roughly $14-$15 for a plate with two sides and a roll, the portion size makes the pricing very reasonable for the quality you're getting. Table Approved This is the spot for a high-quality, fuss-free family dinner or a solo lunch when you're craving real wood-fired flavor without the fast food aftertaste. It's dependable, flavorful, and worth a visit for the chicken alone. Follow along where food meets adventure - Shallonz Table.

Cowboy Chicken in McDonough is a great spot for a hearty, comforting meal!…read more I tried several items during my visit -- the roasted chicken, brisket sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and even one of their desserts -- and everything was flavorful and satisfying. The chicken was juicy with that nice smoky flavor, and the brisket sandwich was surprisingly tender. The sides felt fresh and homemade, and the dessert was the perfect sweet finish. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere has a cozy, down-to-earth vibe that makes you feel right at home. The only reason it's not a full five stars is because a couple of items could've used just a bit more seasoning, but overall the meal was really enjoyable. If you're craving good comfort food and solid rotisserie chicken, Cowboy Chicken is definitely worth a stop!

**This is for their second food truck located in the BP gas station parking lot off exit-201**…read more My notes on this place are on the picky side, on the boarder of personal tastes...because they are putting in the effort of kicking out some good food. Everything that came out was freshly fried and made with well maintained toppings/ingredients. So no complaints at all there. Burgers-My only note would be to season the meat with some burger seasoning once it's on the flat top. The bun is perfect, the veg is cold, the sauces are saucy and you take a bit of it all looking for the juicy flavorful combo but the meat just misses that mark. It doesn't need much...just a little shake of seasoning to round it all out. Mozza sticks and mac&cheese bits...have no notes, they were fried to order and came out screamin' hot...dipped in GGs sauce or the White Sauce was perfect. Sauces- GG sauce is a mayo, sriracha and sweet chili sauce mix...there may be other things in it too, but those are the top 3. White Sauce is their take on an Alabama white sauce...but this one is less vinegar and more creamy because of the mayo. Little bit of heat, but not what I would call spicy. I-75 Loaded fries...were loaded up! How the fries managed to stay crispy for as long as they did-with all the cheese and sauce defies logic. The jalapeños make this dish on the hotter side, so if you don't like heat...you should order it without them-because they don't skimp on them. Honestly this could have done without the hot Cheetos-they didn't really add to it other than color and they got mushy quick. We also got the beefy/steak rice bowl, but it was for my husband's meal prep the next day. It wouldn't be fair to review based on him eating it a day later...so I'm going to leave that review out. We did see several people ordering it while we waited...so I'm thinking it's a favorite. It's a food truck-not fast food so we ended up waiting about 20 minutes for our order. The crew working it were all nice and our food was well packaged so we suffered zero losses. We will be stopping by and trying all their chicken options for our next round!

Hands down the best local burger I've had in McDonough! Golden Grill serves up that classic,…read moreno-fuss burger flavor that takes you straight back to an old-school diner but better. The burger was seasoned perfectly, juicy, and cooked just right. GG's sauce? A game changer. Tangy, savory, and just the right kick it ties the whole thing together. The fries were golden and crispy perfection, and the wings? Crunchy outside, flavorful inside, with just the right amount of heat and seasoning. It's clear they care about their food and their customers. If you see the Golden Grill truck, don't pass it up this is comfort food done right. Service was quick and efficient.
