Really good subs, the best pickle spears. And we use their takeout now for these times of the Covid. We only wish they had french fries.

I had high hopes for this place but they were greatly exceeded. This was arguably the best meatball sandwich I have ever had! I was not expecting that from a place in Angier, NC and I don't give that designation lightly. The meatballs were perfection, served in a nice crusty roll with fresh mozzarella and a fantastic sauce. I want to drive back down there just thinking about it and I live 45 minutes away. I also had a cannoli and it was exceptional as well. I'm a cannoli junky and this one did not disappoint. I often don't like the ones where the shell is coated in chocolate because they're often some manufactured shell dipped in waxy chocolate. Not the case here. The quality of the chocolate this shell was dipped in was excellent. If you're in the area and want a great Italian sandwich, absolutely stop by. It's so good it gets the rare Stevie K Certified Legit AF designation.

I had no idea they offered so many sandwiches and with their high quality meats the $10-12 price is phenomenal, especially because it comes with chips. Now they did get what they wanted because I still spent $65 on steak, sides, and wine but now we're both happier and I get a birthday lunch along with quality birthday dinner! Always clean, well stocked, and great service for their staff. They do offer $2 off sticker coupons for items with the sell by within a few days so it was great since we were using them this evening and saved us $10 off the sides and apps we got.

Only reason I give four stars is the price. It is a little more expensive than some of the other bagels in the area. A bacon egg and cheese cost me over $10 today. It's very good but the price point is a little high.

First, the menu is written on the wall, but it looks like it may have been written years ago because much of it is nearly illegible--as the picture I included shows. When I asked the gentleman taking my order what the menu said and what some of the options were, he seemed almost as unaware as I was. Instead of helping me understand the menu or offering a few popular choices at different price points, he began making higher-priced suggestions that really weren't very helpful. At that point, I finally just asked for an egg and cheese sandwich because I figured that was something simple and safe to try. And I'm glad I did! The egg and cheese was actually very good, and honestly, that is the only reason I didn't give NY Deli a lower rating. The food showed me that there may be a lot of potential here--the ordering experience just needs some serious attention. Please consider rewriting the menu on the wall so customers can actually read it, providing paper menus, making sure staff are familiar with the menu and can offer helpful recommendations, or preferably a combination of all three. Good food shouldn't be this difficult to order. Make the experience as good as the sandwich was, and I'd be much more inclined to come back.

The morning after the wedding, I was operating on about 3 hours of sleep, and preparing for a house full of people when the owner delivered my platters himself, right on time. Our guests, who live from Florida to New York, raved about the bagels, danish, muffins, crumb cake, cinnamon buns, and I THOUGHT it would be too much food, but our guests ate through most of it. They couldn't get enough....including those fussy NYers ;-)

My wife bought an éclair and was disappointed in that too. A hard dipped chocolate like Dairy Queen uses on its cones instead of a frosting and the normally light and airy pastry was a little dense and too soft. Last was the service, an older woman we assumed was an owner was sort of helping us but kept walking away to berate and yell at young employees, for what appeared to just be controlling and mean. The younger employees looked like they were doing their jobs fine but she seemed to be in a power trip with a need to have her hand in every transaction. Clearly the younger employees were embarrassed and ashamed left looking pointless as she raced around. That would be tolerable if her customer service was good. It wasn't. We had to keep asking her to come back and finish our order. She wasn't helping other customers just micro managing everything else instead of taking care of the customer trying to order. I think I had to call her back four times and I got progressively louder the more she ignored us to bug the employees. Maybe she was having a bad day but we got the feeling this may just be how she treats employees, unable to let go and let them work. There was an older man who gave me a look and a shrug that seemed to imply he was sorry and helpless. He kept slinking away every time she went after the young workers. The sandwiches might be great, we will never know as I doubt we'll come back she was so off-putting and disruptive.

They are very friendly and work hard to get your order exactly right. My favorite sub is I think #14 the Jersey Devil. It has soooo much meat. The first one I took home I weight it and it was 3lbs. If you go to Subway you are lucky if your sub is half a pound and pretty much costs the same. There is a photo of one on the scale topping out at 2lbs10oz. The subs are so big I always have them quarter them for me and they pretty much make four meals. The most epic thing I did once was order one for a motorcycle trip then I rode straight to the top of Mt. Mitchell where I enjoyed one of these subs. My only beef I have with them...they have a loyalty program. I always get the Jersey Devil which is one of the most expensive subs at $17 (was $13 when they first opened). This is not a problem because it's so much food. So I was in there and went to redeem my free sub and I had my kids and they usually get a small ham sub or a turkey sub which is about $8. I checked out and went on my way but didn't notice until I got home that they redeemed my free sub for $8 instead of the big one!!! Of all the places Ive ever been with loyalty programs they always give you the most expensive one for free....I guess here you have to make a separate order to do that. Felt like my loyalty got taken advantage of. Lesson learned.

They were doing everything right, even down to the Dr Brown's, and they had ZERO flavors too. There is a meat and cheese counter,r but most of the length of the shop is pastries, cakes, pies, es and other beautiful-looking treats. We ordered our sandwiches; I had an Italian sub, and it was just ok, kind of dry and lacking in flavor; frankly, Jersey Mike's makes a better Italian. But my wife got theReubenn, and it was simply the best Reuben we've had outside of Katz in NYC. I order Rueben's all the time, and I'm consistently disappointed. Most are dried out, have too little meat, and the corned beef is often dry, but not in this case. The sandwich was truly worthy, and we are ready to go back and have it again. Moist, flavorful meat, a generous portion, and the dressing andkraut weres well balanced. The bread was grilled, not toasted, and was itself rich and flavorful. Altogether, it is a Reuben worth driving a distance to have it. We are already planning to come back and try some of the baked goods, but also get the Reuben again too.

This place was really good. It was priced a bit on the high side for a sub...kinda like they kept…read morethe New York or Chicago prices once they setup shop in NC....but not absurdly expensive. It is mostly self service. You order at the counter standing up, they give you a number that you place on your table and they bring your food out. You are responsible for your own drinks and bussing your table. The drink fountains are all inside as far away from the patio as they could possibly be which is an unfortunate design choice. I got the New Yorker full size. It was good. I ate the entire thing and was pretty full, I probably could have had half. For a side I got the macaroni salad and it was nothing special, I'd try something else next time. My girlfriend got the meatball parm on gluten-free bread and enjoyed it. The dessert case was way too tempting. However, the subs filled us up so we got them to go. This is where it adds up. Most slices are $12-15 but they are pretty big. I got the lemon blueberry which was $15 and the girlfriend got a piece of gluten free cake that was also $15...so it was over $30 just for dessert. The decorations in restaurant and bathroom make references to New York and Chicago. There are some religious references via Bible scriptures. I don't find it pushy or overwhelming. I think the vibe is supposed to be a NYC deli but it's way too big and clean versus anything I've ever visited in the city which is good. They had a display case full of ham and roast beef and other meats and I'm assuming this is where they store them until they slice them up. We got lucky when we were here and there was a concert in the shopping center so we got to hear music while we had dinner. We will definitely be back!
