I came in today with my friend. The food was alright, but my main issue was with management. Me and my friend overheard this manager (I believe his name was Ron) bullying one of the female employees by calling her rude names, and the guy overall gave us creepy vibes. Definitely could use a change in management. read more

This place's MANAGEMENT sucks. The food would have been tolerable for me had the MANAGER not have made my food I feel. The ambiance felt very stressing, Ron (I believe his name was) was harassing a female employee and it was overall disgusting. A change in management would do this place wonders. read more

The location at 1700 Kingfisher Dr. needs to close for a day and thorough clean the entire store. The food is very good, but it's gross to look at the floors, the drink station and the windows. It's a real turnoff read more

ordered through Grubhub and this is what I received... WTF???????? I called, and I will admit I was very annoyed, and I said they should give me a refund. The person I spoke with said I can go to the restaurant and get another sandwich. (If I was able to drive and pick up I wouldn't have ordered delivery) And then you're gonna hang up on me? What kind of restaurant are you managing here???????? This has got to be the epitome of BAD service. At this point, I do not recommend ordering ANYTHING from this place because who knows what you'll receive... I will NEVER order from this place again!!!!!! This has to be the absolute WORST interaction EVER!!!! read more

Firehouse Subs - This the "Italian Sub" with a pickle I received... - Fast Food Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

Great subs, but never can order online or by phone. Maybe it is me, but just have to go in.

I will NEVER go back to this Firehouse Subs again!!! The Service was horrible we went in to order our food. We started to order, the cashier was putting the wrong info into the register. So we had to repeat it numerous times until they got it right. It was all correct on the receipt, so they started to prepare the food, and the were fast. Fast forward till when we get home and got the food out of the bag. I opened my box, all the food was wrong. I ordered a 7 to 8 inch sub with mustard Turkey and the pickle. Instead it was mayonnaise chicken, lettuce, and Tomato. In conclusion, me and my family will NEVER, NEVER go back to that horrible Restaurant again. read more

If I could give this place a negative star, I would. took twenty minutes for them to make my food and other people got their food before me. They ran out of white bread, and gave me wheat bread without asking. They also did not include everything that was on the sandwich. Believe the reviews. This was the worst Firehouse I have ever been to. read more

From my husband ... his recent experience on Veterans Day. ... I went in yesterday for Veteran's Day promotion they were offering. I walked through the door and asked if they had anything going on for Veterans today? The response I received made me feel that I was the 1,000th person to ask that question and he was annoyed that I asked. He told me order at the front, and when the manager walked out and asked what I needed, I was under the impression that I was the 1,000th unluckiest person and I won a bad service award. I told him that I was here for the Veteran meal, and didn't seem to thrilled. 1st, I didn't come up with this idea "lets give back to our Veterans," your company did. All I did was just serve our country, and defend your freaking freedoms. To top it all off, you put the least amount of meat on there too.. I can go on and on, but I will stop there. I never felt like that coming into a restaurant. Knowing that I'm a Veteran, while you guys are "supposed" to be doing it for vet's, is mind blowing and just know that you don't have to worry about making a sandwich for 10 plus people because me and my entire family which also includes 5 other Vets will not put another dime into your store. If you were tired of making sandwiches, you definitely got your wish with this guy.. Either change professions or quite. You don't have to work there if you are unhappy read more

Went in on a Friday night with a friend, we each ordered 1 sandwich, nothing else, waiting 25 minutes for just 2 sandwiches. Reached out to the store and spoke to the owner who was more annoyed than apologetic. Making excuses (did you know how busy we were, did you see how many door dash orders there were, etc.) A lady before me ordered 3 sandwiches and it took her 7 minutes to get the order CORRECT because the employee couldn't get it right! The owner was rude and very condescending and could have cared less about my experience. I will certainly never return to that location! read more

I figured I would go in for lunch this Sunday. It was the first time in my life I've been told at a fast food restaurant, " We are not taking any walk in orders for at least 30 minutes,to get the online orders filled. This is totally unacceptable when you're catering to the online first and turning your walk in customers away! Get Your Priorities Straight! You lost a loyal customer today! read more

This has to be among the worst sandwich shops around. When I arrived (at the peak of dinner time) there were no customers in the restaurant. The one person behind the counter said that someone would be with us in a minute. WTF? There is no one else here! The same person eventually came to the register and had a horrible attitude. While I was getting my drink another customer came in and asked if there were any specials. The same rude guy rudely said that there were not. The customer rightfully left (I should have too). Then the staff started berating and making fun of the customer for asking about specials. The franchise owner clearly doesn't care so my recommendation is that Firehouse Subs step in. This place is making an otherwise good business look bad. The one on the other side of town is great! My recommendation to potential customers is to go somewhere else. Anywhere else. There is a Giant Food next door that would be better and it isn't even a restaurant. Yelp doesn't seem to allow zero stars. The one that I am giving is only because it's required. I won't be back. read more

Found multiple pieces of hair in both of our sandwiches. The worse service possible. The employees argued with me saying I didn't pay. I showed them my credit card pending transactions and continued to say it wasn't paid for. read more

I had the worst customer service experience of my life. They gave my husband the wrong bag with no receipt. I went in to return it and the manager was so mad. He repeatedly said he has to throw the bag away now and accused me of just taking it despite it being his staff that handed it to us. I explained that it wasn't my fault and I pointed out there was no receipt. He raised his voice and said it doesn't matter and he has to throw away the bag. I said I'll never come back here again and he said good. I am 7 months pregnant. I hope he wouldn't speak like this to his pregnant wife or daughter. Customer service is NOT valued here. read more

It takes 30 minutes to make a sub apparently. Absolutely 0 management going on. You watch a bunch of teenagers flirt and relax while they mosy around and the line of people builds up. Firehouse should be ashamed their brand represents this establishment. read more

We went in on a Monday afternoon to order lunch. Waited in line for almost 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging our presence. The manager and two employees were rushing around making orders that must have been for call in orders because there was no one else in the store. Finally one of the employees who was clearly new asked the manager if she should stop making sandwiches and take our order. He literally told her no - right in front of us - even though we'd be standing there waiting for 10 minutes. She continued making sandwiches and asked him a clarifying question about the sandwich she was making and he was so incredibly rude to her in his answer that my heart broke for her. To her credit she kept a smile on her face and kept working. At this point a line had formed but after that each one of us walked out without placing an order. We've been in this store before and each time the manager is so rude and condescending to the employees and customers. He clearly doesn't enjoy his work. We resolved that this will be our last time there ever. But the way he treats his employees is absolutely abhorrent and I have no idea what recourse they have if any. No wonder they can't keep employees. There's no place on the website to lodge a complaint either. read more

The service is extremely slow! Ordered ahead of time, the place was empty and I waited around 25 minutes past my pick up time for 1 sub. The employees were joking around and taking forever to complete my order. Would not recommend this location. The owner is also not friendly or respectful to his employees. read more

Subs are pretty good but they still don't have the sauces back- COVID is over stop being cheap. That is what made this place good. Without the sauce stand it's just another decent sandwich. I'm not sure why this sandwich shop receives poor reviews? I've lived in the neighborhood the other side of 26 for over 2 years. I find this to be a very convenient location, the staff have always been friendly and diligent, the food is always made to order and delivered as you are expecting - people bitching about"waiting" for 2 sandwiches, hell man - go to burger king then, they have walk in orders, online orders, GrubHub orders - you ain't there only customer Jack ! I don't know what happened to this place- we used to eat here all of the time. Over the last two months it's just gone down the garbage. Last time we ordered the meat was slimy and bad, we tossed our sandwiches after 2 bites in and both were sick after. Last three orders have been completely wrong. Most recently, I noticed our chips and kids drinks weren't in the bag. I asked the kid behind the counter and he said "I honestly have no idea where that stuff is." I said oookay, well can we get something else to drink since we already paid for our order. He said "I don't know" and threw his hands up. Seriously- who is managing this place? I've worked in food service for decades and understand mistakes happen but this is absurd. read more

We'll start with the positive, the food is delicious...that is, when it's done right. I have an allergy to one ingredient in one of my favorite sandwiches and I always ask for the sandwich without it, and 90% of the time they'll leave it in. I have to ask for them to remake the sandwich all the time, despite being quite clear about my allergy and preferences at the time of order. I would have never gone back if the sandwich wasn't THAT good (always on the 2nd try). I wish they'd just make the sandwich as ordered, it's really not that difficult, and could be potentially deadly when allergies are involved. I hate leaving bad reviews, but after speaking with many people in my neighborhood, a few said "We never get what we order, it's just whatever they want to give you that day." and many say they are not returning to eat there because of the lack of accuracy. I hope they improve, it's great food and supports a great cause - but I'm tired of being given what I didn't order! read more

Just want to tell you how disappointed I am in your service and food at the Kingfisher location in Frederick. Last week I stopped in to bring food home to my son. He wanted one of your kid meals. So I asked if I could have a roast beef one. The "manager" told me roast beef wasn't an option. She wouldn't budge on allowing it or even offering to have me pay a small up charge. So I had to order a small roast beef plain since all my son wanted was a roast beef sub Well for almost $6 I got the smallest sub ever. I could have bought 1 loaf of bread and 1/4 lb of roast beef for that price at Giant next door. There is no way she couldn't have switched that out for me for one of the kids subs. I also ordered a grilled cheese kids meal because my son wanted the drink and Rice Krispie to go with. Thank goodness I did otherwise he would have still been starving after that roast beef sub that was smaller than the palm of my hand. Terrible attitude of the manager, terrible food and terrible portion size for the ridiculous price. In this day and age customer service is key, first and foremost. I was already turned off by this woman's attitude, but seeing that sandwich sealed the deal that we would never eat there again! read more

Firehouse Subs - Small roast beef plain - Fast Food Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

I've been a fan of Firehouse Subs for years but as a rule I avoid this location due to the abysmal customer service and the consistently bad food. But I took a chance again on 8/6/21 on my way home from work after a 13 hour shift, and was too tired to drive to the Buckeystown Pike location. I was met at the counter by a cashier who appeared annoyed that I was bothering her with an order. A simple order of a single sandwich. No "hello," or "how can I help you?" or "would you like anything else?" or even a "thank you." Just a pissy attitude that one expects from a burned-out 30-year employee at the MVA. I work as a nurse and customer service is a big part of my job. I realize that dealing with the general public can be challenging at times and it's difficult to not react to rude customers, but at least pretend to care about your job and the customers who make your business successful. Especially when those customers are pleasant and friendly. But that's too much to expect from this place. And true to form they messed up my order. When I got home I discovered that my Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket sandwich had no cheddar. Not sure how a sandwich maker forgets one of the two listed ingredients in the name of a sandwich, but this place always finds a way to disappoint. At least they're consistent. read more

I believe that the safety of the food you order is in the hands (literally) of the people behind the counter. At this Firehouse the people were complaining about other Firehouse workers that weren't there at the time. In addition, those that were there looked like unhygienic homeless people. read more

I've been to both locations in Frederick a handful of times. Food is usually ok, but you run the risk of soggy bread with their hot subs. The staff at this location have always been a bit apathetic and my lunch visit this week was no exception. My biggest gripe with any location is how long they take to make their sandwiches. I've had sit-down restraunts deliver food quicker and the quality here is not worth the wait. read more

I've been on a sandwich kick lately but unfortunately it's tough to find a truly great sandwich. Firehouse is no Italian Store but they actually make hearty, filling sandwiches that are fresh and tasty. The portions are generous but not gargantuan and I like that they have an under 500 calories menu. So far, I really like the Engineer sub and the Turkey Salsa Verde. Even if it's not busy, the wait is around 10-15 minutes. The teenagers are sloooow behind the counter. However, they make up for it for being friendly and polite. The seating area seems to be clean. read more

One of the worst locations I've been to - the staff is pretty rude and don't acknowledge you when you come in and don't seem like they even care to be there. The sandwiches come out looking sloppy and the bread is soggy on the bottom from the juice coming from the pickles which really grosses me out. Also, thus location has been low on hot sauces for quite some time and it doesn't look like they're planning on restocking. read more

These are really good subs. If you like your subs to be loaded with MEAT and veggies, then this is the place for you! Plus they have like 20 different kinds of hot sauces which is even better; at least for me ;) They have generous portions too. This Firehouse location is the BEST! The food is delicious, always hot and made just your way. The staff are the friendliest people and a joy to see when I walk into the restaurant. I normally love Firehouse, but this location is a dud. Didn't include sides from my combo take out orders and were "unable" to give me a refund for missing items. I ordered 2 medium subs (hook and ladder & Italian) this evening and hubby went to pick them up. When he got home we discovered that one sub had the fixings wrong(not a big deal) the other sub had NO MEAT on it.( a BIG DEAL) I immediately called the store - the first time the phone rang many times and thenI was asked for an "access code". I hung up and called again and someone finally (many rings later) picked up and I was immediately put on hold. After 3 minutes on hold I hung up and called back. Now a female picked up I asked for a manager and she told me she was the manager. I explained my situation. She told me that they were "short handed" and "things happen". I was a little confused as to how a sub goes out the door with no meat. She explained that they have a "process" and it should not have happened. Ok I get that, but I assume there should have been meat in the "steamer" (or somewhere) if it was missed. She kept telling me how short handed they were (not my concern). I should add that although I was firm, I was never rude. At this point "Sondra" was not rude but not apologetic. Eventually she did apologize and said she would make the replacement subs herself. She mistakenly assumed the subs were large although they were medium. I told her that the original order was medium but that I would take large as a replacement (my suggestion not hers) When I arrived to pick up replacement subs there were 2 young men mopping the floors towards the back of the store. No other customers were in the store. We were not greeted and waited at the counter without being acknowledged at all. Eventually, (2-3 minutes later) Sondra immerged from the back grabbed the bag I sat on the counter and tossed it in the garbage. She got the new bag and set it on the counter. No apology, no niceties, no conversation at all. She asked if I "wanted to check it" and I said yes I did and the subs were made correctly. I asked if she wanted to check the subs I returned and she said "no" . No apologies, no conversation at all. I asked if the owner would be in tomorrow and she said she did not know. No offer to have anyone contact me and no apology. I have been in customer service all my life. I totally understand that "stuff happens". I also believe that when an error occurs it is the manager's responsibility to take ownership and apologize profusely. As a manger I would consider this "coaching opportunity" for my team. An opportunity to "make this right" with the customer was sorely missed here. An offer of a cookie, a bag of chips,.....something would have gone a long way. I felt as if I were "begging" for an apology and was treated quite rudely when I returned to the store. When I asked when the owner would be in, an offer to have the owner contact me would have been appropriate. I enjoy the Firehouse Subs product but this franchise is definitely NOT living up to the brand. I believe someone should know. read more

This is going to sound like an unfair review, but I promise you that you will understand if you have ever been to this location. I have been going here for 7 years on and off. Main reason I keep going is because I love the meatball sub and my girlfriends loves the brisket sandwich.......when they are done right. Other Firehouse subs do no have the problems that this location has. 98% of my orders have been wrong. We CONTINUOUSLY have to tell the staff not to put pickles on the sandwich or certain sauces. We emphasize this to the cashier. Almost every single time, they put pickle in the sandwich on top of the bread to make the whole thing soggy and taste nasty. I have double checked the ticket with the cashier, the cashier reads it back, and they still do it wrong. I have a video screen capture of a facebook post within my condo association community where every single person who has stopped at this location has had their orders wrong many times. Most have to stop going to this location. The ventured out to South Street subs in Frederick due to the frustration. I have been trying to find a way to get a hold of the Franchise owner before writing this review, but I have had no luck through the main website. So at this point, after 7 years of them getting it wrong, I have had enough and if you would like proof of it your more than welcome to contact me and I will send you a screen shot of the facebook post of my neighbors expressing their anger. read more

When we arrived at the restaurant, we did not get a "Welcome to Firehouse", "Hi how are you today", or even a smile. The owner was working the register. He was typing something into the register and it took so long that I stood there for about 5 minutes before he finally took my order. All he said was "give me a minute", no apology for the wait. We ordered a Club on a Sub. I asked for chopped pickle on my sub and it did not have any on it. Also, my meat was not warm at all. It tasted cold as if it was never put in the steamer at all. Also, the temperature in the restaurant was so cold that I had to keep my winter jacket on the entire time I ate. It was about 45 degrees outside, so it's not like it should have been that hard to heat up a restaurant that size, especially with toasters and steamers running. Overall, very unhappy with the service and quality of the food. I would not recommend to any body, and I will not be going back any time soon. read more
