We walked in at 8:32 pm (they close at 9pm) and one guy was mopping the floors and the other guy behind the counter said that they cant make any food right now because their registers were closed. Just ordered from here on DoorDash, so disappointing. The sandwich didn't have meat on the last unscheduled or so of the sandwich. The restaurant forgot to include our soup and brownies. I know the restaurant will try to blame DoorDash, but if all the food had been assembled in the same bag, the driver couldn't forget it. Not very happy with this visit. Ordered 4 meals. Cost $48 tried to scan my phone app to get one of my sandwiches free with my reward points. The cashier said something was wrong with my app so I didn't get my free sandwich or get my app scanned for my new points. Went home to get points online and didn't have my receipt. They had 2 bags of chips on the shelf so you had to go to the boxes in the corner of the store to get what you wanted and there were only 4 kinds available, and you apparently don't get pickles anymore either. It's very disappointing that restaurants are using COVID-19 as a viable excuse for poor operations. The fact that Firehouse Subs would reply to me with such a generic response is so disheartening and shameful. I grew up on Firehouse Subs and it's always been my absolute favorite place to eat but they are showing their true colors the bigger they get. They sent me an "explanation" of why my bad experience happened the way it did but failed or refused to actually investigate the matter. The truth was their employees were trying to close early that evening and weren't having any product shortage whatsoever. The fact that I patroned the Firehouse Subs in the next town over the following day with 0 issues is proof Firehouse Subs is pawning off their refusal to address personnel matters as Covid-19 complications. I've since stopped going to the Conway, Ar location and have no intentions of ever returning. I'm stunned how Firehouse Subs corporate has utterly failed to handle this problem with integrity and assume that a generic response to my complaint will appease me. It's become clear that they do not care if customers fall at the wayside by minimal numbers. They're big enough now to sweep genuine concerns and customer complaints under the rug. Prices are standard. Customer service was good. They do offer military discount. The lady was nice but she kept messing up my order. Sandwiches are good but nothing special. Came in there were three workers, one a manager. There was no one else in line, only our order. They were not busy. We waited about 10 or 12 minutes before I finally walked up there and asked if our sandwiches were ready yet. The manager said they would be right out. The other coworker grabbed our bread and just then started making our sandwiches! Seriously took them almost 15 minutes just to begin making our order. I commented "seriously, no sense of urgency." I literally went in just to get a soda and the workers took about 5 minutes to finish their conversation to help me. When I asked for just a drink the cashier somewhat chuckled and charged me for it. I went over to the machine and it was out of almost every option. I asked if they knew it wasn't working and they said rudely that it hadn't been working all day. Um. Where to start. We went in on a Sunday afternoon, so we weren't surprised when they were really busy. We ordered and sat down and two of the 5 at our table got their food fairly quickly but I waited about 15 minutes more, the other two people waited a total of 40 mins for their subs. If that wasn't bad enough, a spider came out of one of the subs before the others came out. The owner was busy the pop machine and came over about 5 minutes later and asked for the receipt and didn't apologize or anything at first, just said "we normally don't have spiders in the subs." Really? I would hope not! What a thing to say. He did apologize later when he bright the cash back. Not even a minute later we found paper in another sub - one of the ones that took 40 minutes to get. Also I have to add that the bathroom was disgusting and the light switch didn't even have a cover. I have always enjoyed Firehouse Subs in Conway. The food is always great, and the customer service used to be. I went in for lunch today, and all four employees up front acted as if they'd rather be anywhere but there. I remember being greeted in the past from all employees, "Welcome to Firehouse!" They seemed to be happy to assist, and did it with a smile. Not these folks today. They made me feel as if I was a bother to them. Not one smile, not a thank you, just here is your order, and that's it. I had a counterpart eat there the day before. When I got back, I asked them if they were rude when she went, and she said yes. Sad to see the customer service declining. The food was as always, delicious!! My 2 stars is strictly about the service. I hope this improves. I have never eaten at a firehouse sub and I never will. What an experience I had at the Conway location! Believe me when I say, I will never give firehouse sub a dime after my experience with them. I was taking my mom to my uncles house for lunch. It was her birthday and I baked her a cake and thought it would be nice if I took sandwiches. I'm not from Arkansas so I had to figure out where to go and how to get there. Conway was the halfway point. I called in a phone order at 7 PM the night before and ordered five sandwiches off the menu. After I gave my order, the young man told me that I had to order 24 hours in advance but he would go ahead and honor my order. Personally, I have never heard of such a thing. Who knows if they want sandwiches 24 hours in advance. I've called in lots of phone orders in my lifetime and I've never had a problem. Anyway, He asked me what time I would pick them up and I told him 11 AM. They opened at 10:30 AM. I thanked the young man and told him I'd be there in the morning. I walked in at 11:10 AM and asked for my order. The young man at the counter said there was no order under my name. There was a girl on the floor and she jumped in and told me it was not 24 hours in advance and they did not make my sandwiches. She told me that five sandwiches was a catering order and I had to order 24 hours in advance. I apologize to the four people that were eating their lunch because I was yelling. I've never yelled in a public place like that before but this one deserved it. I could of ordered five sandwiches right then and there and they would've had to make them. CRAZY to call that a catering order. I cannot believe Firehouse sub would classify five subs ordered off the menu a catering order. I was trying to make it easier for them so they would not be rushed. Needless to say, I got my five sandwiches within probably five minutes after ordering at Subway down the road. I'll start by saying the food was pretty good, decently hot, and took about 4 minutes to come out. If you want a fire house sub, your best bet is to only place pickups. On a Saturday afternoon with only 1 other customer there, the whole place was a mess. Chips weren't stocked, a bundle of straws was thrown behind the holder for them, lids were not stocked and the majority of them were smashed, the drink area was sticky and had napkins and a receipt sitting on it, 3 empty tables still had their table number sitting on them with trash still on them, and the floors were unswept with veggies and napkins sitting under half the tables. The staff was alright, but if you wanted anything after your initial purchase, you had to coax them from their hidey-hole in the back. With Jimmy John's having the best cold sandwich in town and Lenny's having a hot sandwich almost comparative to the sandwich I had today, things need to change before I consider returning. read more
