This was my first time ever trying Firehouse! I was brought here because of a T-Mobile promotion. It was a BoGo for their hook and ladder sandwich. I also ordered the New York Steamer! I must say that I am a fan! I was pleasantly surprised to see how tasty their sandwiches were! My wife also got her own order and she also enjoyed the sandwiches she ordered as well. I would like to give this experience 5 stars but I'm only giving it 4 stars because they ran out of a specific condiment that she wanted. I dont have a picture because I was starving but it was almost 8 at night and I was leaving an event when I was thinking what can I eat nearby thats quick. I remembered firehouse was right there and I was like why the heck not it had been awhile since I had a hot sub. The two young men working were wonderful. Super friendly and funny. The place was dead because it was so late but everything was clean and they made my sandwich fast and delicious. They even saved me a few bucks on not having to upcharge an add on and threw in extra sauces for me. I really enjoyed the sandwich but the customer service is what made my night. It is an ok place. I love their decor. Their sandwiches come in 3 sizes, and all are toasty. It was pretty tasty, but I will say you should DEFINITELY order online. I was not a fan of the lackluster welcome, the lack of eye contact, and the slow service. Maybe it wasn't slow? I ordered three sandwiches and it took 22 minutes. I was the only person in there. One person came in, looked around, and left. They were training someone, and I get that, but maybe have them do only one sandwich and other people can help with the others? Really nice decor. I don't understand what's happened to this location I work around corner and was going almost every week for years Apparently a new manager as not the same place About a month ago I could not figure out why usual order cost more. There was also no unsweetened tea available and I'm diabetic so a problem for me. Looked at receipt and I was charged for a combo ANDan extra order of chips. When confronting cashier - the manager got involved and made it more drama than needed with the cashier just giving me a refund and explains a gasket leaking on tea container So a month later try again and after I pay go to get tea and again no tea Manager once again over drama how not his fault. I told him been a month and the not arrive on truck is not reasonable Mind you this after waiting in line to order and listening to him complain to coworkers for the whole place to hear about him working too much So since no tea I told him I wanted full refund And out came the dram again So I called him out on being incompetent and he started screaming at me and threaten to call police Well I then replied very loud my if he was not incompetent I would not have called him incompetent and call the police and explain his incompetence Anyway bottom line You want a sub go to Publix or subway You want firehouse pick another location where the manager knows how to handle a restaurant cause this one is.........incompetent!! I liked it way better this time than I did when I was here a few years ago. So friendly. I had come back here because I had a bad experience at a Firehouse Subs and so this lunch was on them. They have over 1200 locations so there's plenty of places to choose from. A portion of the proceeds at Firehouse goes to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, to be used to provide lifesaving equipment to first responders. Since the Foundation started, it has granted over $65 million to provide equipment, training, and support to hometown heroes. I ordered an Italian to take home (no mayo - but loaded with deli mustard, tomato, onion genoa salami, pepperoni, Virginia honey ham, provolone, Italian dressing and seasonings). And the people were very nice in the shop were very nice! Oh yes, I had a pickle to take home as well! Gotta love those pickles! I was happy to see that they are doing so well! They are right off of 95 at Gateway so it's an easy off and easy on! I'll be back. And make sure you get your rewards! They do have specials so look for those as well! read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch option and was impressed with how busy it was (always a good sign when there are other customers), the creativity of the menu/concept... designed by firemen and the row of sauces to choose from as an addition to your sandwich. So I decided on the Italian "fully loaded"... fully loaded is their way of requesting the works in the condiments department and having it all added to your sandwich. While waiting for my food to be prepared (it's set up so that you can see the assembly line process of how your food is prepared almost a consistent trend for all sub shops at this point), I noticed that the sub I ordered was prepared hot and asked to not have it toasted. The request to not have it toasted, may have saved me some wait time. There were customers waiting for awhile. For $7+ the sub and a bag of jalapeno chips and I were off to eat at my desk. The sandwich was okay. Not a huge fan of the bread--nothing special about it. The meats were good but not Publix tasting fresh... overall none of it wow'd me. I love Firehouse Subs but this location is just horribly mismanaged. It's not unusual to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a lousy sub. My last time there, 2 weeks ago, I waited 23 minutes for a bowl of Chile and small sub. There were only 2 other people in the restaurant. 'They are constantly out of needed items (spoons, crackers for chili, pickles, dozens of soda flavors, you get the point). I am now done with Firehouse as I sent in 2 contact forms on their website and they never replied. Maybe the problem is corporate. Might also want to train the employees on how to wear a face mask. We came here a couple of years ago and had a frustrating experience with previous employees (were chatting while they were supposed to be making our food, didn't get us our food for 20min when we were the only ones there etc) however it seems that they have improved this location SO MUCH!! All staff members present today (10/17/18 at 11:30am) were fast and efficient, especially who I assumed was the team leader! I didn't ask for her name but she was very courteous, respectful, and when she saw our sandwich was being made incorrectly she rectified it immediately. My hubby was harassing me about this place for awhile so I agreed to try them as we were on a road trip. I sometimes hesitate about sub shops because I'm limited to 1 type of sub, "the veggie something". I have to say that the sub was very yummy. Lots of cooked onions & peppers, fresh tomatoes, lettuce. Whatever sauce used to sautéed the onions & peppers was delish. I love that they also have lots of hot sauces to choose from. Bread was really fresh too. They received one star less cause they forgot our pickles...sorry but I'm really anal about my pickles...Ummm that made me giggle. read more

Not a whole lot of options, but it gets the job done. The sandwich shop is welcoming and they greet you when you walk in. The prices may surprise you, but the coupons help if you have any. The meatball sub I had was good, but it wasn't wrapped in foil. Maybe they didn't think it would drip all over my fingers and cause me to get more napkins than usual. I would have mentioned it, but the thought didn't cross my mind until after it happened. They do offer the freestyle Coke machine, which is becoming a big hit. Horrible location. I went to pick up an online order placed 10 minutes ago and when I walked in, 3 employees were standing around. Food wasn't made and the bread was just being toasted. There was only one other customer in the store. Instead of having a sense or urgency to make up for dropping the ball and not paying attention to your ordering system, they ignored my sandwich and decided to chit chat and disappeared in he back to prep veggies that were not needed for my sub while my bread just sat there. The two female employees were unapologetic and grumpy. I'm not expecting. 5 star restaurant service but your customers should be your priority not gossip. I can't believe how slow these two moved and they obviously hated working there. Listening to how the employee had to do a catering order by herself and that someone else earlier in the day got the easier of the two catering orders to do was a bit unpleasant to listen to while I ate. The fact that she kept having to call the customer to ask questions and explain that 10 sandwiches come in a box was annoying. She was making fun of how the customer didn't know what he needed and that she asked him if you have 5 sandwiches cut in half, how may do you get? I'm giving a low star because the wait is always uncalled for !!!! 34 minutes for a small sub is a bit long!!! I watched as only 1 person made subs , while what looked like the manager taking orders, after she took orders she did nothing , the girl making subs had 12 orders in front of her and the manger did nothing , I don't understand why she didn't jump in to help with orders , she did a bunch of directing and talking THATS IT !!! Slow with online order intake just order in the store. It baffles me how large franchise places haven't streamlined their online order process yet to where the orders have some kind of priority. The location is clean but if their WiFi goes out (often) their soda machine won't work. read more

So this trip to the restaurant was a little concerning. The person that made our subs was a little unclear on sanitation rules. While waiting for the contents of the subs to finish steaming, he decided to move around boxes of bread and take some empty ones to the back to the trash still wearing the gloves he used to handle the food. When he came back he started to slice the bread and used the same bread knife he used to open the boxes of bread with. All the while never changing his gloves. He was visibly upset that I asked him to get a new knife to slice the bread with but still never bothered to apologize or put on a pair of new gloves. read more

Wow, what a crappy sub sandwich I had today. Never had a Firehouse Sub before. I ordered the NY Steamer,(corned beef and pastrami). The gentleman making the sandwich threw a packet of meat into either a steamer or a microwave for a few seconds, and with the meat still in the bag wrung the fat/juice out of the meat. Result my sandwich was dry and rubbery. It also had pieces of hard fat though out. No Thank you. read more

Everything about this store was not pleasant. The man making the subs was rude and obviously frustrates slamming and telling the entire time I was here. I for my sub Togo because I was so uncomfortable.. There were 0 cookies and were not getting anymore, and half of the Coca Cola freestyle machine was empty. First had Firehouse when they originally opened up in the Jax, FL area. Hands down the best subs around. Whenever I go to north Florida it's a must stop. Subs are awesome. My friend and I came here in a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. The first thing I noticed was no one had food. Weird. So we ordered and sat down and started talking. 25 minutes past and no food. I got up and asked how much longer it'd be. They said they were slammed and it would be the 3rd order up(there was only 10 people waiting and 5 people making subs). 20 more minutes my friend has her food and I'm still waiting. Finally it comes! Minus an ingredient... Whatever, I walk up and ask for it on the side. After 45-50 minutes it should be al least made right. We're finishing up and my friend who is a vegetarian finds tuna on her plate and says eww is that tuna, I took a bite of it, I'm going to be sick. That's what made me really mad! I told the manager.
