I had placed the order last night, so I just went in and picked it up today. The girl let me know which bag was mine and then I took it , filled up my pop and left. When I got home, I noticed my sub was not very full. It was actually pretty empty and the whole thing was soggy . It had oil or dressing all over it. It was way too much. I was not happy with today's Sub at all. The cup of pop I got was written as "giant" and it was not a giant cup of pop. It was only the size of maybe a medium big gulp. Now usually I'm accustomed to getting a six inch on Italian herb and cheese (because that thing smells divine, and should be made into a candle before I become a true carbivore and come in just for a foot long of bread, hold the greens), but I had burnt too many calories according to my pedometer, and had convinced myself bigger is better. My tiny tummy is glad I didn't go for the gusto, aka, the meal (the cookie display was pretty barren anyhow save for two cookies) as I was perfectly full on 7 bucks worth of footlong. On this particular visit I went for the wrap, to see how Subway handles, well, not subs. My best friend got his usual, as we are creatures of habit at this store, and his creation even got his sandwich artist to internally drool. I took a lick of the sweet onion sauce from his sub and highly recommend. It usually throws the artist for a loop when we stop in, as the employee pool tends to change every visit, and who can blame them, having to handle hot food with nothing more than a plastic pair of gloves? He found my egg whites in the freezer, and his helper was generous enough to cook them twice so that they actually thawed through and warmed, because no one wants cold eggs. She also had the expertise to not cook them on the wrap itself, for fear of baking a burrito bowl. (It sounded like she'd been through this rodeo before.) She went so far as to cut up the egg for a better experience, something nobody has ever bothered to do, and I truly appreciate it. I went for pepper jack and got four triangles. It felt silly getting spinach on a spinach wrap, but I wasn't brave to try the habanero offering, and it's not an egg wrap without the green. Tomato, black olive, and onion got a dash of good ol' salt and pep before being rolled into the most appetizingly chubby wrap I've seen in a while. We payed for our sandwiches as I used the chart to calculate my calories (there's a calculator online too) and skedaddled. We've eaten in house before, with ice cream from the McDonald's across the way, but generally walk the few blocks back to his apartment, defending our sandwiches from the ruthless traffic whipping over the bridge. These sandwiches, I promise you, are sturdy. At first bite, I knew I had made the right call. All the flavors melded together, and my starving stomach purred with glee as I ate the masterpiece. Y'all should make this. Now I will say the one thing that bothers me (other than it's slightly high price and mayo soaked tuna) about Subway is cross contamination. Yes, they wear gloves for every sandwich. But they touch all of your ingredients with the same gloves, so my set touched the tomatoes and olives. And if the next olive lover is allergic to tomatoes, hopefully the brief moment of contact hasn't done enough to harm a fellow.
