Chicken Parmesan Meatball Sub
Linda T.

First time here & I will definitely be back. Had the Chicken Parmesan Meatball Sub & it was so good. The meatballs are made out of chicken. It blew my mind..lol..Sauce is very good and the garlicky taste is heaven! Will be back and recommend you try this Sub.

For this takeout visit, I placed the order at Firehouse on a Wednesday at ~5:30pm. It was ready in less than 5 min (there were about 6 other people placing orders and picking up at that time). My husband enjoyed the medium sized meatball sub. As far as chain sub shops go, he rated it as way better than Subway, but not as good as Wegmans. I enjoyed my basic roast beef sub on wheat. Check out their app for all the veggies, sauces, and seasonings that you can add for flavor. I also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie. Nothing special, but tastes good when heated up in the microwave on a low power. Downside, the smell of Firehouse Subs bothers me. It reminds me of school cafeteria hot dogs.

This place reminds me of Quiznos when it was around the WNY area! Sub varieties are fresh and they are very accommodating with modifying your order (like substituting different cheeses and holding onions and/or tomatoes, etc.) Seemed like they were having trouble with their fountain beverage machine so only limited varieties were available (I do recommend their cherry limeade brand). I really enjoyed the Cajun chicken sub with cherry peppers, pepper jack cheese, and Cajun mayo. The ham, turkey, roast beef assorted sub was even good the next day for lunch (with some help from the toaster oven at work) . For a quick, cheap lunch, I definitely recommend this place and hope it doesn't go the way of Quiznos!

Yum! Yum! Yum! Love those 8s, 9s & 10s!

Firehouse is my place to stop for a quick sandwich when in the McKinley Mall area. I have had tried a few varieties, and they were tasty enough for repeat visits. But, after tasting the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar, I have not been able to order anything else! I do have to say, with flavor and tenderness, this brisket sandwich rivals a sandwich in any BBQ restaurant. Definitely my favorite!!!!! (They should add a coleslaw topping, like BBQ joints do!) Another perk, being a hot sauce fan, there is a counter full of hot sauces, with little cups for sampling. Each bottle is labeled in intensity from 1 thru 10, so there are no surprises. I always try a few, and dump a bit onto each bite. I also enjoy that their beverage machine is one of those fancy "add your flavor" types. I always enjoyed Lime Diet Coke, and it is no longer available, so being able to add my lime is a plus. (They also have fresh lemon and lime wedges on the beverage counter.) I can't give 5 stars, because as subs go, for a traditional Buffalo Sub in a neighborhood sub shop, this isn't the same. I do have my favorite spots for that. However, if I based it only on that BBQ Brisket, it would be 5++.

Definitely not my cup of tea..I had the Cheesesteak sub and it was so greasy! Yuck! Lol I had never had firehouse subs and figured I'd give them a try over Jersey Mikes. I wish I went around the corner and went with what I knew would be good lol. Will definitely not be returning! :-/

I have been wanting to come here for so long, but trying to sell my wife on subs can be hard. We had a coupon in our night out book, buy a combo and get a free medium sized sub, so We finally stopped in for lunch last week and I'm so happy we did. I got the Club on a Sub- turkey, ham, bacon served "fully involved"- which is their way of saying it comes standard with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. You can opt to leave off anything, which i did (I'm not a big tomato person). I got chips and a drink as well. The sub took a few minutes, and was brought out to me as i sat in the dining room. It was very good. The bread tasted so fresh! It was toasted without being crunchy. The cheese melted so perfectly and the flavors really went awesomely together. My wife loves the decor in here, especially the Dalmatian themed tables. She also loves the fireman gear on the walls. Even she was impressed with her sub, which says a lot! We will definitely return.

Medium Engineer on wheat.

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

This is a busy spot for classic American favorites: burgers, sandwiches and wings. From my previous experience, I knew it's worth checking the menu beforehand. For someone who is trying to make healthier choices, but not salad, this might be a good idea. I remember the last time I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Melt. This time, to avoid beef, bacon, or fried chicken, I decided to substitute a burger with grilled chicken breast for an additional $1. The Frenchie was my choice. I asked for the included Bison dip on the side and added Grilled Cremini Mushrooms for another $1. I simply couldn't find any ready-made combinations that suited my taste. All the burgers, melts and sandwiches come with your choice of fries or tater tots. We waited longer than expected for our food. The restaurant started filling up after we arrived. There were a lot of takeout orders while the dinner rush was starting. They should have a parallel system in the kitchen to keep the dining room moving at its own pace. Anyway, my sandwich was good. The chicken was perfectly grilled. The mushrooms and onions were flavorful, and the provolone cheese was melted and delicious. It's good that I asked to have the Bison dip on the side. We enjoyed the mountain of fries and onion rings (we really liked the breading on the onion rings). The Mac and Cheese was basic, but classic and very tasty. Unfortunately, our feedback on the Steak Hoagie was not so good. It wasn't as expected - a juicy, Buffalo-style, meat and cheese sub. My partner said that too much spice rub made the sandwich salty and dry. It wasn't the experience of dripping, shaved steak covered with lots of melted cheese, grilled peppers and onions. There was none of it. It was dry, smallish and disappointing. Our server Kimora took good care of us. She was smiling, and made our stay very pleasant.

I'd never before seen sourdough croissants or cheese danishes; there's an abundance of gorgeous loaves/boules for sale. (Cheese fondue supplies! Yes!!). A baker's rack to the right sells day-old bread at discounted prices (make your own croutons!) I opted for an almond (sourdough) croissant and a small coffee; I was asked if I wanted a mug or a to go cup? I was given a beautiful glazed mug - very charming! Two things worth mentioning: There's a small seating area downstairs, and five large tables upstairs. The stairs? A polite way of describing them is, "grandfathered-in". The rise/run makes it difficult to navigate if you're in thick boots, carrying a child, or have stiff knees. The pastry had a beautiful crunch. I enjoyed the almond flavor. And then I found: cherry preserves? I'm aware that "croissant et confiture" (eaten with jam) is a standard French breakfast, but it did change the mouth feel of the treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something earthier and beautifully executed.

My wife had died three months earlier and after visiting her grave at the cemetery in Hamburg I was looking for a coffee shop to relax around noon. Being a deeply spiritual person I was intrigued by this line on the cover of their menu, "We serve the fruit of the Spirit. Why not ask?" So I did and I was beyond overwhelmed by the people who operate this amazing restaurant at cafe and by their Christian beliefs. I love their story and what they stand for.
