Came here to burn a gift card we got over the holidays. It's a bit of a ways away from our house, but for free dinner, we thought, what the heck. I'm struggling to find anything to say about this place. It's bright and welcoming, the staff were very nice. We even had a table visit which never happens in a place like this. My sandwich was alright. I felt like it needed something more though. Perhaps next time I will try something else. They do have a Coca Cola Freestyle machine which is always a plus, but my husband's cherry limeade was WAY too cherry. So much cherry that it basically tasted like Robitussin. Might need to adjust the syrups. All in all, a solid 3 stars, I'd try it again for sure. read more

This place was just not good. All of my sandwich toppings were in the center,which made me re-organize the sandwich or I would have only have had a few bites with toppings in it. The sandwich I got was really dry, had to use more ranch on my sandwich when I got home, I only had two tomatoes, a ton of pepperchinis which took over the taste of the sandwich. Look, I really can't say anything nice about this place with out resorting to "the decor is very clean looking, the service was A+," or other tripe. They're simply mediocre subs for a mediocre price using mediocre quality ingredients. They're a quarter step above fast food and other then the decor and the name of sandwiches, indistinguishable from Jimmy John's right across the street. Two choices of bread, a couple dozen options of different sandwiches, some of which have "Fire Station" related names, and under ten different condiment choices. Subway (also across the street) has that many condiments just in sauces. About the only interesting feature is the rack of hot sauces, conveniently labeled 1-10 on a hotness scale. I was mildly interested to note that I had three of those sauces in my cupboards at home. Two clock in at 9 and one at 7 on their scale. I might have a medical problem because I don't find any of those hot any more... Oh, and they have the cool Coke machine that allows you to combine makes of soft drinks (as long as they are under the Cokebrella,) with several different syrup flavors. So you have about 1.2 million different flavor combinations in a 2x2x6 foot area. Delicious! If you like Coke products. If you're blown away by Firehouse Subs, I quick review of Yelp here will reveal at least one other nearby sub place that would positively make your head explode. I think even a local nearby "Natural Foods," grocery store could make a better sandwich. So, will I go back again? Unlikely, unless I'm traveling, in desperate need of food and have limited choice. I'll probably see Firehouse subs added into the rotation of food served at mandatory lunch meetings at work. And I'll eat it because it's sustenance. Which is about all I can say for Firehouse Subs. Firehouse Subs reminded me of my college intramural basketball skills: good not great, not the first pick but certainly not the last, better than average. I wanted to be excited about this place because I had so much fun at Mod Pizza nearby. The brisket sub was good but not great. The price was a bit high. Oh, I suppose it's okay. I stopped in for a sandwich so unremarkable I can't recall whether it was the brisket and cheddar, or steak and cheese. All I remember is that the cheese wasn't really present, and the condiments weren't all that generous, so I got a shredded beef sub sandwich. Could be worse. Decor and theme are interesting; it's all about the first responders. I guess that's their whole motif, but I didn't find it highly inspirational. It does look like their five-gallon buckets for sale are a good deal, if you don't mind buying advertising. Not bad, but nothing that would make it a go-to. read more

They're stingy with everything. You pay 7.50 for a sandwich that has no flavor and no filling. Even the bread was just sad. You leave with an empty stomach and an empty wallet. Go to bunk or east side deli instead. I got the mushroom sandwich and it had 4 little pieces of crappy mushroom, my partner got 3 slices of processed turkey meat on the biggest sandwich they had. I'm not much of a sub sandwich person so I probably never would have come in on my own. However, my husband wanted to come here so I didn't veto his lunch choice. I ordered a small ham sandwich and was pleasantly surprised that I truly enjoyed every bite of this sandwich. It was lightly toasted and filled with enough meat to be a meal. The flavors were exceptional since they use honey ham (which is my preferred choice). They are a little more spendy than other sandwich shops, but to me it was worth it since the flavors and textures (bread is light and fluffy) are better than other places. I will return. read more

Food is fine. Kids sandwiches can be ordered cold and are served plain and have meat and cheese on them. Some of the Staff could use some customer service training. Place was busy for a weekday lunch. I had the capt. Sorensen's datil pepper chicken sandwich. Wow! Gotta say, I am impressed. The family and I would go to a location. Near our old house. They were less than stellar. In fact. I wouldn't eat and just sip iced tea. But this location near my work, while new, was above and beyond. I dreaded going initially but boy am I glad I tried it again. The food was perfect. Even found a tasty new sauce amongst all the selections of hot sauces. And if you like hot sauce, Lordy do they have a HUGE selection. Service was fast even while packed for lunch. The place was clean and well kept. Employees were friendly and offered to take our empty trays for us and invited us to stay as long as we liked. While the prices are a TAD higher than I would like to see for a sandwich shop, I'm not complaining and I WILL return with no problems. read more

I love a good hoagie. Firehouse does them well and their pickles are a huge plus. The staff here is wonderful. The first time we ate my friend picked up a sandwich for a group of us and didn't think to ask about the ingredients. One of the potential diners has a pretty severe allergy to soy and any commercially made bread is a very likely culprit for an accidental poisoning. We called to ask if her food might somehow be safe. It wasn't. The staff handled it beautifully though. They weren't at all at fault, the food bringing was just being absentminded, but they insisted on apologizing and offering to put something together out of safe options. Our friend was fed and happy. I will note that their company website does say that their food is safe for people with soy allergies because they utilize a FDA loophole that claims highly refined soybean oil isn't allergenic. Well it is to a lot of people. So watch carefully! read more

Overall I'm a big fan of Firehouse Subs. A friend of mine turned me on to them after he had eaten there in other states before they arrived in Oregon. 90% of the time I eat in the restaurant (and then enjoy a variety of hot sauces...though I have to admit, I'm not sure who assigns the ratings on the hot sauce as the "hot" ones aren't nearly "hot" enough to deserve the higher ratings....but I do LOVE they have a wide variety of hot sauces to try). Other than 1 to go order, the food quality is VERY good! The service is fantastic! The speed of order fulfillment....amazing! The only thing that has kept me from rating it a "5" star (which I may update in the future) is when doing an internet pre-order they failed to recognize it was for a future time. Instead they made the order immediately...then when I picked it up and took it back to my office the bread was extremely soggy. Hopefully they will be sure to check the information on the tickets when receiving internet orders vs. assuming it should be made immediately. Otherwise I HIGHLY recommend Firehouse Subs. Not only good for you - but good for the community by sharing a portion of their proceeds with local fire fighter causes. read more

Definitely somewhere to go to grab a DELICIOUS bite to eat :) I wish I could give 4.5 stars! I really love the food as well as how friendly the service is every time. My only complaint is the speed. They are experts are preparing good food, but do not do so with Jimmy Johns or Subway speed. That being said, though, I get cravings for their sandwiches so they are clearly doing something very right! I love walking in there and seeing kids running around in fire hats! I'm embarrassed that I've had sandwiches here. Twice. But it's close to where my wife works and sometimes she's hangry after work. Ok, me too. I also commend them for supporting local firemen. I have great respect for first responders. Ok, back to the review. The space is clean and bright and they have one of those soda fountain machines which allows you to mix all sorts of crazy flavor concoctions. 99% of their sandwiches are toasted, so if you enjoy a toasted sandwich this could be your spot. I ordered their version of an Italian grinder and it was tasty. Happy to see melted provolone! My lady went for the lone cold sandwich- tuna. I had a few bites and was surprised by the heavy handed amount of black pepper. I love it, but it made the sandwich spicy! She no likey. Their bread is the true flaw here. Your options are white or wheat, and neither is tasty. If they upped their bread game and offered more cold sandwiches they'd have a great thing going. read more

The sub sandwiches here are very good! The bread is very soft and there are a variety of meats and cheese to choose from. My purchase of a large turkey ranch sub, chips and a drink set me back $15. But, I ended up sharing the sandwich with my son. - It's pretty big. I enjoyed it! Once you try places like this you won't ever want to go to Subway - for sure! read more

Honestly I love the food here but it never fails they mess up my order EVERY SINGLE time. Sometimes the people are nice but its rare.

My little sister requests this place a few times each month. We share a large hero. Great flavor, generous meat portions. Drinks are expensive, but I fill out the survey so my sister can get her big drink free the next time. My tip for keeping the price reasonable is to upgrade to the large sandwich for only $3 more. I skip the "meal" upgrade. The nice thing is 2 of the employees know my sister's name. That is so nice to be greeted by name. read more

I've heard many great things about Firehouse Subs, so I finally tried it out and it was a deflating experience. It really isn't that bad, but it's not remarkable either, and I'd return to Jimmy Johns before coming back here for food. We also ordered a salad, which they messed the order up, and the salad in the end wasn't anything special either. I would probably give this place 3 stars for the food alone, because it's not terrible, but the service at this location also wasn't the best. It was a bunch of high school students with a great lack of urgency. We waited a bit for our first order, and then quite a bit longer for them to fix the salad order. There were only a couple other people in the store, so I'm not sure what was taking them so long. read more

Sometimes I just need a good sandwich and I got 1 here. My daughter and I couldn't decide on what subs to get so we choose the Meatball and the smoked brisket 12" and shared them that way I got to sample to items on the menu. Meat quality was good on both subs and really makes me re think ever going back to Subway!
