Food was good, service was prompt and the place was very clean. The ladies doing the work clearly enjoyed what they were doing.

Firehouse Subs - Apopka (To‑Go Order Experience) Firehouse is usually my go‑to spot when I'm craving a good sub. I almost always order the Club on a Sub, my husband sticks with the Hook & Ladder, and this time my daughter decided to try the Au Jus sub. We placed our order online, and pickup was super convenient since the location is right outside my neighborhood. When my daughter brought the food home, I noticed my Club was missing the bacon. It still tasted good, but it was disappointing because the bacon is part of what you're paying for, and I'm sure there's an extra charge for it. Not a huge deal, but definitely something you notice. The bigger issue was my daughter's Au Jus sub. There was no au jus sauce included, so she drove back to the restaurant to let them know and pick some up. That's when they told her the sub has been discontinued and they no longer have the sauce -- even though it's still available to order online. Our thought was: why wasn't this mentioned at pickup? A quick heads‑up or phone call would've allowed her to choose a different sub instead of ending up with a dry one. She ended up coming home and making her own sauce, which she said turned out good, but when you're spending close to $30 (used a coupon) on subs, you expect to receive what you ordered or at least be informed if something isn't available. I have been eating here for years. All of the employees are usually kind and make my sandwich correctly, but if I ever come during the day when the owner/manager or whoever the old grumpy man is, the energy in there is bleak. Today I came in to order and the system wasn't working efficiently, I have to assume that it was his wife who was working alongside him with the way she aggressively and irritatedly told him to figure it out and "remove his gloves." In all of the chaos, the team made my order correctly, but not before double checking what kind of bread I wanted for one sandwich (thanks for that), and the dusty old owner clapped for them condescendingly. The young employee smiled and told me to have a nice day, but I could see the frustration in his eyes. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially people who show up and literally make you money. We ordered the Turkey special with stuffing & cranberry sauce. As soon as I ordered they said they're running out of turkey and could only make a medium. The turkey was dry, had gristle and cranberry sauce was generic and tasteless. The whole sandwich was skimpy...meat to bread ratio was way off, too much bread and not enough filling. We tried the hot pastrami. My sandwich was just provolone and mustard. The pastrami was minimal, too much bread, again. And, there was globs of the mustard, I scraped off at least a teaspoon of German mustard, which was a turnoff...I only like yellow mustard. The pastrami was not hot, I had to warm it up in the microwave. We didn't eat more than 1/2 of each sub, what a big disappointment for our first visit at Firehouse. Got 'hosed' again at the firehouse, won't ever make that mistake again! I ordered on line, menu was pretty good, but there was no option to have/not have bread toasted. At least they don't cut it in half with the infected mayonnaise knife like Subway! To make it simple, I have food allergies, and a lot of them! That's why I hate ordering food, but I hate cooking myself so wtf? I asked the staff why the sandwich was toasted. I didn't ask for that, but there was no option on-line. I was told there was. No there isn't. Toasting can cause cross contamination. Some places use butter, I have dairy allergy and butter is the worst food there is! Manager told me I had cheese, no! That was the only thing they got right! I did not order cheese, they actually got that right! The looks I got from the staff were as cold as the Arctic Circle, nobody was gonna take responsibility and I was the bad guy. Second time treated that way here, there will be no 3rd! Very slow in making order employees don't care no customer service they screwed up simple order tables clean

This restaurant customer service is the worse I ever experience. We went to eat at 8:40pm they closed at 9:00pm, we ordered the food and the 2 customers after us ordered food too. we got our food at 8:55pm when we started to eat one of the employees came to our table to tell us that we could not eat our food there, we had to stop eating and seat out side in the car in the mean time two other customers were side waiting for the food. We finish eating outside before the other 2 customers received their orders at that was at 9:15pm. It doesn't make any sense even the other customer saw us eating outside and asked us why they told us to leave the table if they were still waiting for their orders. And also it was never told to us that we could not eat our food in there at any time. read more

Absolutely SUCKED, as soon as we walked in we could feel the unprofessionalism, (like we were trying to get a order with a 8 year old) when we ordered we asked for a sub with sautéed onions then they proceeded to give us the sub the first time w raw onions then when we took it back then said they would remake the sub then gave us back the same sub w sautéed onions and the same raw onions as before, when we said something about it they continued to literally laugh and whisper to eachother RIGHT in front of our faces. this experience took me back to high school culinary class. read more

My sandwich couldn't have been more wrong w/o it being a pizza. Ordered ONE medium sub for pickup. The instructions are written in ENORMOUS LETTERING on the order ticket. No ONIONS, NO MAYO, ADD Honey mustard. ADD PICKLES, ADD BLACK OLIVES. Maybe it's Opposite Day and I wasn't aware? My sandwich of course had onions, mayo, NO mustard at all, no pickles and no olives. Ridiculous. Completely ruined the sandwich for me. Lesson learned. I guess I have to fully open the box and deconstruct my sandwich with my hands to make sure it's correct before I leave the store. If I could leave NO stars I would. The only person who seems to know what is going on or how to ring up/make anything is the manager. We ordered a sandwich combo and a salad with vinaigrette as the dressing to go. It took almost 30 minutes to even get our food. The person making my salad had to ask how to make it. When we asked if the fork and all for the salad were there, we were told yes it's all in the bag -- maybe we should have specified "is the salad dressing in the bag". There were no napkins, no condiments, no salad dressing. This is the 2nd time we've had a not great experience with the food preparers in this location. Please train your staff properly and be sure they know to include all condiments for to go orders in the bag -- salt, pepper, dressing, napkins, utensils....oh and the pickles too which we were specifically asked if we wanted but didn't get either. read more

One employee was sitting outside when I went in. He followed in behind me. At the counter he was the clerk, no smile, no greeting, just "what can I get for ya?" I asked for a large meatball with hot peppers and a small steak and cheese. He then repeated my order except he said "a medium steak and cheese?" I said, no a small steak and cheese, he then said, "well they are pretty small," "I said that's okay, my wife is a lite eater." I didn't get any hot peppers on the meatball. Wow, the service here has really dropped off. How can it take 30 minutes to make some sandwiches. We paid at 12:58 It is now 1:29 and STILL waiting. I top of that there is a young woman blond hair that works here who seems to habe a attitude. I'm sorry to even give this review because I love Firehouse Subs, but this location is just... shameful and frustrating. We came here within a few weeks of moving to this area, and we waited. And waited. And waited. We thought maybe it's an off day. The second time we came here.... we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. So, next time we ordered online. My husband left after the promise time. He got there and... he waited. And waited. And waited. Today I went in to order a sub, and... you guessed it, I waited 23 minutes for my sandwich. Schedule more people. Get it together. I was a LOYAL Firehouse customer prior to moving here. Firehouse is better than this, and this location is insanely disappointing. I think I'll drive to the next location next time. It would probably take less time. Edit (9 months later): Placed a to go order today. Gave them an extra 20 minutes to prepare food before picking up. Food WAS ready when we got there... but I was given the completely wrong sandwich. Brand new Firehouse in Apopka!!! Yay! I'm a fan of Firehouse (can you tell??). The subs have a great flavor and have plenty of meat. I usually get the Engineer but the Hook is Ladder is a favorite. This restaurant is larger than others I've been in and cleaner too. They also have the Coke Freestyle machine which offers so many soda options you'll stand in front of it for a while the first time trying to decide! read more

Horrible customer service and professionalism at this location. I ordered through the yelp app and went to pick up my order to find out that they never got it because their tablet was broken. They told me that there was nothing they could do and suggested I contact Grubhub who full fills Yelp orders for a refund. So I step out and do just that, and after a few minutes was able to get it. Here is where my dissatisfaction begins, I re-enter the Firehouse subs to be greeted with "Grubhub guy" and not the usual "Welcome to firehouse". Having been frustrated and hungry already by the situation, being called this angered me. But I continued to the register to order as I had already spent too much time to not get my food. As I begin my order the cashier just stares at me with a smirk and laughs at me. I ask him "what?" And he replies by mocking my situation and that I came back to order. This pissed me off more and I try to get this cashiers name but notice that he wasn't wearing a name tag, nor anything to cover his hair, and he had one AirPod in his ear the whole time. I complete my order and wait patiently in complete anger and disappointment. I've been to many firehouse over the past years but never have I experienced such horrible customer service and professionalism. I never even got an apology from any of the crew working there.
