First time visit to this deli in Mt. Dora. The place is small and cozy as expected from the location. There is limited seating inside but plenty outside. I ordered the Nooky which has layers of Burratta, prosciutto di Parma, balsamic glaze, fig jam and arugula sandwich between a lovely focaccia. The bread in my opinion can make or break a sandwich. I cannot imagine going to another meat market for my cold cuts now that I've experienced their customer service. Trued out the new location in Apopka and fell in love at first bite! I was skeptical about spending $40 on two subs but after seeing the size and getting a taste of the quality I knew I would be doing it again and again! I absolutely love a good Italian sandwich and this place hits all the right notes with their traditional Italian - good bread, fresh meats and cheese as well as a perfect light dressing. You can tell that all the ingredients they use are high quality, and the sandwiches are built in such a way that all the flavors combine and compliment each other perfectly into one amazing taste sensation. I had the L'diablo, and it was perfect. My wife had the Italiano Americano, and she loved it as well. After eating here, Publix subs are going to feel like a step down in quality. I would advise the owner to include a bag of chips with the subs. It's a good way to provide the appearance of value, without costing the business owner too much more in inventory. Finally got downtown to try this place and so glad we did! We love our new home in Mount Dora and places like this certainly make that easy to stand behind. My husband and I ordered 3 sandwiches to try today, the Italian, the Downtown and the Nooky. The Nooky was calling my name with a fig jam, arugula, burrata and prosciutto, the ingredients were fresh and the focaccia bread had the perfect crunch for a little bit of texture. My husband had the Italian, with all your favorite deli meats and the softest sub roll this was def a favorite. **one thing to note, the mortadella does have pistachios in it** Im so glad my husband asked about this having a nut allergy, he originally was inquiring about the pesto when he was informed about the mortadella. My only critic would be to notate that on the menu. We were able to omit this meat from his sandwich however (and mind you he didn't ask) but I do think they could have doubled another meat due to this, I thought his sandwich could have had a little more meat on it for the price point but def no lack of freshness or flavor. We decided to split the Downtown as well and Im so glad we did! Corned beef pastrami, served warm with caramelized onions and gruyere cheese and comes on a soft chibatta roll. 10/10 would recommend, amazing flavor combinations and just down right delicious. We will def be back and look forward to trying more menu options. As other reviews have mentioned, parking can be tight but thats part of Mount Dora's downtown in general. Find a spot and walk around, you wont regret it! read more
